Amp was made 2009. Really versatile considering it is a single channel amp. Has two voicing options, Vintage and Modern, footswtichable...really like having a clean channel and gain channel. Also has Dry and wet modes, Dry mode seems tighter, wet better for solos...seems like slight gain boost...very slight. Also footswitchable. Footswitchable effects loop. Three band EQ, bright / mid switch, Mid scoop switch. 60 watt EL34 tubes. 3 12ax7 preamp section. 1 12ax7 PI tube. Master volume, master presence and thrust levels, Open / tight switch. Thrust and presence control the negative feedback loop. Great for fine tuning the amp to the cabinet. Feature loaded for single channel amp. Play hard rock and metal mostly. Awesome so far. wish it had reverb.

SG, LP, Teles with single coil blade humbuckers. Suits music perfectly, cause it is user friendly and sounds amazing. Quiets high-gain amp I have used. Used to have Mesa and it kills the Single recitifer and the Nomad. I would compare the tone to Splawn or a VHT Pitbull. If you are trying to play jazz or clean stuff, probably not your amp. Could do the blues very well though. Vintage or cleaner voicing does break-up at louder volumes like AC30 or plexi would. Very usable though. The modern channel just kills. Better than any amp i have heard in a long time. The punch, clarity, and sustain are better than any mesa. Even better than the Bogner Ecstasy and Soldano SLO. i would say it is on par with the VHT my friend had, and that amp was awesome.

5 year warranty....except tubes and user error. How can you beat that. Seems really well built. Great looking as well. No PCB board here. Hand wired eyelet board.

Dave from Baron is great. Answered all my questions prior to purchase. Also gives a 3 day trial period with return if you don't like it.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing from 15 years. Have owned Mesa, marshall, Sovtek, line6. Have played VHT, Splawn, Soldano, Orange, bogner, hughes & Kettner. This amp really does sound like a VHT pitbull or a Splawn. As good as the ones I played if not better. Built like a tank. Great features, and the price and customer service can't be beat. I would not be surprised if Dave business takes off sometime soon. These amps are that good.

The Baron MI60L is a single channel, all tube, handbuilt in the USA amplifier. It uses EL34's in the power section. Custom Heyboer transformers.

My MI60L was just completed in 2009. Although a single channel amp, it is very versatile. You still have footswitchable vintage and modern voicings, dry and wet settings and the effects loop. I can get both clean and high gain tones for my live playing. Lots of voicing options: mid shift, bright, power section focus, etc. Very versatile.

Now we're talking. Pretty easy to dial in. My settings are high gain for fat riffing. You can dial in chimey glassy cleans, dirty blues, the EVH brown sound (hot-rodded marshall) and over the top crunch which is where I like it. With the tonal options on the front panel, you can get a lot of tones out of this.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank! All hand wired point to point, eyelet boards, sweet!

I've been playing for over 20 years. I've had countless amps. But for my metal projects I use mostly Triple Rectifiers and 5150's/6505's. Simple amps with great tone. This Baron also has great tone. A bit more like Splawn than a 5150, but sounds great none the less.

If it were stolen, I'd be pissed. These are hard to come buy. There are only a handful out there.

I love the tones, the handmade elegance. This is not a mass produced amp! The price point is awesome.
