Got a lot of features for $250 Sound fantastic clean. Doen't get real dirty but dirty enough for blues. slight delay when using different effects. I run with just reverb anyway so theres not any delay. I use some of the effects live but not too many. I prefer to use pedals.

My main guitar is a 85 Squire strat (jap) with new vintage pickups. I own a 56 strat, 64 strat, 66 strat, 64 Jag, 67 Jazzmaster, 68 Les Paul and a 68 es335 and about ten others from the 60's and 70's I bought them all new. (I'm old) They all sound good thru this amp. I been playing over 45 years. I play everything but disco. Hate it. I used it on a job recently. It's not as good as my blackface 66 twin or deluxe. The job was a real mix, beatles, stones, johnny cash, wilson picket, chicago, santana (not like a mesa)
blues brothers and more. it came thru great. I was impressed.

I bought this amp in December 2002. I am 16 years old, i have been playing for 8 years. I love hendrix and stevie ray vaughan. This amp was very good at reproducing thick tonal blues and classic rock sound. I loved the effects. It saved money from buying a lot of pedals. But the speaker is not very good. I replaced it with a big celestion 120W. And went out and bought a Boss OS2 overdrive\Distortion pedal. This made the biggest sound improvement. Just the pedal alone made a big difference in the low end, and phat tone. If you have this amp buy the OS2. You will be amazed. Just make sure you turn the volume down to 5 on the amp to get a smooth sound.

I've had this amp for about 2 months now. It does everything I need to do and more. It gets loud enough to stand out over my drummer and my bassist. The only real beef i have with it, is that if the overdrive channel has a different effect preset than the clean channel, there is a switch over delay. With all the effects tho, i really can't complain.

I have a strat immitation with lace censors. I play different types of music, mostly progressive rock tho. The amps clean channel immediately struck me as very crisp and solid. You can get a very bassy sound to a very trebly sound out of this channel. The distortion channel has a slight hiss at the higher gain settings, but only slight. I was very surprised at how much distortion i could get with minimal noise. Although your not going to get bone crushing distortion out of this amp, its more than sutable for anything besides metal. Other people have said that the distortion sounds muddy. This is not true. Although it did take some time to get used to, its very warm and rich. The effects sound very good too. Some of the effects don't sound the greatest. I find it hard to get a good sound out of the phaser and the spinning speaker but most of the other effects sound top notch as fat as I'm concerned. The reverbs are very believable. The auto-wah and LFO-wah work well with a bass and some distortion to produce a bass synthesizer sound. Very cool!

Ive been playing guitar for about 4 years. My first amp was an Ibanez Toneblaster 25, then a 10w Johnson, a Vox Pathfinder, then this amp. I can get a Voxy sound and an Ibanez sound out of this amp, which is made very easy by the amp modeling effect built in. The only one I can't get it the fuzzy sound of the Johnson. For the money, you simply can't beat this amp, especially if you have a smaller amp and need that extra volume.

I bought this amp new in January, so it was probably built late 2002. I play in my church's worship band right now, but I'd like to start a band when I enter college later this year. The amp comes with a ton of features, though the digital effects are pretty difficult to understand and program. The two channels (clean and overdrive) work well with what I play (popular Christian music, alternative, hard rock, slower worship, etc.), so I use the included footswitch for this. (Before purchasing this amp, reviews stated that there was a delay between switching channels; I have not experienced any sort of delay worth mentioning.) I never really use the effects for what I play either. It's a tube amp, so it sounds great. Going from 15 to 60W was a good step. Well-built, love the chrome on the control panel. Lugging 41 lbs around does get old, though.

I play with a Squire Stagemaster with stock pickups (usually play with the neck pickup); I learned on this guitar and have ordered a new guitar. My guitar with my 15W Marshall sounded ok, pretty muddy. This amp makes my guitar sound good! Bass is great! Clean sounds wonderful when setup right, overdrive can be thick and chunky or screaming. Great amp!

Solid state 65 watt with valve preamp, 12 jensen speaker, lots of digital fx.Midi for the fx. effect loop, aux in, twin channel with footswitch (but forget that...see below).
Can't give a high rating as although there seems lots of features, some of them aren't really useable.

Used with a Dearmond M65. Garage rock/punk & some more unusual dance influenced rock...no really high gain stuff.
I've owned the amp for 3 months now & I've only just got how to use it at it's best.
I was previously trying to use the 2 channels for clean or distorted. I really wasn't happy with the overdriven sounds..they all seemed dull & lifeless & as mentioned by others there's a big problem with the channel switching.
So last rehearsal I started from scratch...got a good clean sound on the clean channel....gain on 10 master on 8, then turned up the tone controls for the required tone & volume. Our other guitarist immediately commented on how nice it was sounding. Then I switched on my danelectro pastrami #20 overdrive pedal. WOW ! It sounded great ! Just a little eq tweak to suit the pedal & my guitar was ringing & singing like never before. Full bodied & raunchy, I could hear every string ringing on chords & the guitar was reacting beautifully to my playing.
This amp really does have a tubelike sound as long as you stick to the clean channel.....The o/d channel is mud in comparison, I'll never touch it again.
I do need another boost for lead though, so loooks like I'll be buying another pedal, but a week ago I was seriously considering getting rid of the behringer & buying a valve amp & that would be a lot more expensive.
Tried it for recording this weekend & was able to get good tone again but only with the amp up loud !
Summing up, treat this as a single channel amp, use a good pedal, keep the gain & master up high & it sounds great for typical rock sounds. Don't bother if you need real high gain or switchable tone.
p.s...I can't really comment on the fx, as I leave it set with a basic spring reverb (which is fine)...if you could leave reverb on & then switch in other fx they could be a lot more useful.

After first use at high volume it developed a nasty rattle, but tightening the speaker fixings sorted this..it's not happened again since.
It seems pretty solidly put together, but who can say what the internals are like...fingers crossed !
I will be using it to gig without a backup, but a)I don't have a backup & b) I wouldn't want to carry 2 amps around anyhow.

I've played guitar for 25 years, though I've come back to doing it seriously in the last 2.
I'd definitely consider buying again if I lost this one. If I had enough cash to spare for a quality valve amp then maybe not.
It's kind of an oddity in that it seems loaded with features & yet personally, I'm using none of them
I don't care anymore that the channel switching is crap because the o/d channel is also crap !!.
However the basic tone of the clean channel when combined with the right pedal is enough for me to be very happy with it.
I just wish I'd worked that out sooner !
I really should knock off marks for the bad bits, but I think it would be difficult to get as good a basic tone as this for the price (it's under #200 now).

I play a Japanese strat w/ single coils. Blues, Classic rock, etc.
This amp gets a really good clean sound. Then you use any of the onboard effects (reverb, phaser, tremolo, delay, whatever your preference)and it fills up pretty good.
Unfortunately, you can only use one effect at a time, and yes, when you switch channels, THERE IS A SWITCHOVER DELAY :-(
You're cruisin' real good on the verses and then it's your turn to solo, you step on the channel footswitch and ah, crap! You just missed the first couple of notes. D'oh!
It's maybe a second and a half, but when you need to switch then and there, it can seem like a loooong time. Not cool.
I must say that is one of 2 things I don't like about this amp.
Here is the second one: You will NOT be able to play your Metallica, Pantera, System of a Down, drop D, drop C, whatever, heavy distortion with this amp...
It's my experience (remember I have single coils) that on the overdrive channel, it does not fatten up and distort well.
Oh, I tried, turned up the gain, the volume, down with volume and up with master volume, etc. and it breaks up but for me it does not sound that good distorted....
....I fixed that though... bought me a BOSS DS-1 Distortion pedal. Yeah!
That fixed 2 issues: the delay when I want to go from clean to dirty, and the quality of the dirty.
Now I'm pretty happy with it:
Strat > Crybaby > DS-1 > Behringer
I just set the clean sound I want and when it's time just click on the Disto.
So a 7 grade because it gets a lot of good clean sounds, but it does need some help for heavy stuff.
Once you put a pedal in there for dirty, it handles it very well because of the 12 inch Jensen.

Who gigs regularly and has 2 of everything??? I mean everything...?
I needed to replace my piece of **** Crate. I gigged with that one w/out backup. And no, I don't buy guitars as a hobby like other folks.
So got my strat, my acoustic (Yamaha), my amp, and that's it....
I would gig w/out a backup, sure; if anything failed, I would have to get my stuff and run. ;-)

Before I bought, I checked out friend's opinion on Behringer, and they were all positive when it comes to their boards, modules, etc.
Mostly it was "I've never played a Behringer AMP, but they make good stuff"
I went for it anyway, can't beat the price.
Never dealt with Customer Support.

I've been playing for about 10 years.
If it were lost or stolen, I would probably spring for a Marshall AVT100, but you see, I don't have $700+ to put out on an amp, that is why I bought this Vintager.
At $250 and with the features mentioned, you just can't beat it.
Even though you will need to buy a distortion pedal, it's still a great price for a decent product.
If you're an elitist tubehead, you won't even consider anything at this level, so who cares what you think, but if you want a good amp at a great price to practice or gig occasionally, it'll work.

2 channel, 3 band eq on each, master vol, gain on lead channel, built in FX, MIDI controllable(FX patches, channel select, FX on-off).
In non-Midi mode, can link 1 FX patch to each channel. Light (about 36#) Good looking, black tolex, polished silver metal. Stereo outs, FX loop, Aux in with vol control. 60 watts. 1 12AX7 tube.
New model. Fairly versatile, FX could have been implimented better. I use this amp live with a contry band. has enough power, but just. (I run it pretty close to wide open on clean channel.)

I use mostly a Strat, or similar type guitar. Amp gets a good clean sound. Has some natural compression. Gets a good twang with bridge PUP. As I said, I have been running the clean channel almost wide open. It has just a bit of dirt at these levels, but it sounds like slight tube overdrive (good).
Lead channel gets good ,tubey distortion sound (good for distorted blues), but even with gain at 0, distortion is more than subtle crunch. Rolling back guitar vol helps some, but I have not yet found a nice woody sound with this amp. No metal sounds in this amp, but I dont care about that.
Turning down master volume just KILLS the high end of your signal. So far I have left the Master Vol all the way up
The EQ is active, and turning all 3 down gives you NO sound, thus the volume of the amp is VERY dependent on EQ settings.
The guys in the band commented fovorably on this amps sound. I am using it instead of my Peavey Bandit, but may alternate them, since I do like the Bandit.
I hope I will learn to tweak this amp a bit more, for more versatile sounds.

Been playing 35 years. Have used Fender, Peavey, Legend, Randall. Most seem to have strong and weak points. If stolen or lost, I think I would get the same model, or perhaps the "Mark II", which I have seen rumors about.
For the price ,it seems like a great value.
I also tried the Yamaha DX60 FX, which sounded great and had a lot of features, But was $560. I bought this amp unseen and untried, based on these reviews, and having a couple of other Behringer pieces.
Be aware that the FX are only effects, no control panel EQ or vol/gain settings are stored (as the ARE on the Yamaha). This is NOT a modeling amp. The sound is good, but not exceptionally versatile.
The FX have 99 patches, but you cant move patch 33(phaser) to patch location 1(reverb). The reverbs stay in the 1-20 locations, the modulation effects stay in the 30 - 60 slots, and so on. You can NOT set up the FX to have ,for instance # 1 delay, #2 chorus, # 3 pitch shift etc. You can, however program a midi pedal for switch 1 to select Behringer patch #25(delay), switch #2 to select Behringer patch #1 (reverb), etc,
UNDERSTAND THE LIMITATIONS of these FX, but for the money, it's great to get any efeects.
There are not a lot of combination effects. A few reverb + chorus etc. There is compression. BUT you cant use it with ANY other effects. These effects are very good sounding, but not as vesatile as a lot of FX units

As reviewed by others. Basically a copy of a 'vintage' combo with added contemporary digi-effects that should enable you to play various styles. Made in Asia, following a well known Behringer formula ...

Here is my problem with this baby. Yes, if you tweek it you can end up with some usable 'emulation' sounds and if you play in a cover pop band with a singer nobody will hear the difference. But I play in a jazz-blues-funk-latino band and every nuance counts and above all the expressiveness of the basic tube sound. My ears still hear what we usually call digital decay of the sound that is different from the analog tube decay that we've known since the '50s ... If I cover it with effects - no problem, yet most of the time I need subtle overdrives or ''power-tube-massage'' (that I can easily get with a THD hotplate in my all tube Ashdown Peacemaker 40 class A 35lbs combo) and THAT this baby cannot provide. I still might get one for home and as my fifth amp for pop or church or TV shows, but for serious club work I have to use the all tube and even class A designs.
So, if THD BiValve and Cornford Hellcat and Ashdown Peacemakers score 10 for the basic sound, then this combo gets 8 (plus 1 for effects) but
that is practical 8 and nobody should get upset (most Marshall kids rate this 8 actually 10 in their reviews).

As I said, it is V-amp2 in a box but augmented by 'vintage' pre-amp approach and conviniently integrated effects. As I play since 1960 and evidently I played BEFORE Marshall amplifiers existed or the Beatles were known, I can and do hear subtle sound decay differences that most people no longer hear (as digital 'hard' decay is by now collective consciousness of our planetary consumers ... so, to me, and only to tone freaks like myself (= all vintage gear and genuine tube users) this unit doesn't offer the ultimate combo ideal. Actually, I will soon get the Roland VGA-3 (I have midi-equipped guitars) as my hi-tech ''pop'' combo - namely, it can even simulate guitars, while Behringer cannot do that much ... but to be fair, Vintager is very good sounding contemporary package for little money and unless you need top gig reliability (= regular gigs) you can buy one. It costs LESS than the Boss GT-6 and in all fairness it is a better deal (for all those who play occasional friendly gigs).
All pro- musicians, blues and jazz masters and experienced analog players, like myself. will prefer the use of genuine tube gear, but may still consider this as a third (effects) spare amp.
My final rating is 8.5 but I expect that Vintager Mk II that Behringer is preparing will be even better i.e. 9+. Until then I will continue with my Ashdown Peacemaker 40 and analog effects, but afterwards we shall see ... maybe it's going to be all Behringer setup in 2005+ :-)
