I have a Ultra acoustic ACX-900. This amp is made in China and the date of manufacturing is October 2006. This is a very versatile acoustic guitar amplifier with vocal channel as well. It is a pure 90 watt stereo amplifier with lot of useful and brillant features. I play everything on it like Rock, popular, country music and it handles everything just perfect. It is a very well made amplifier so beautiful and attractive. It has two channels each one is 45 watts power output. You can connect two instruments and on microphone with it. Both channels have effects like reverb, chorus, tremolo, flanger, delay, phaser. It has tremendous features and it has left nothing to be desired. I use this amp for home and small live performances. It has enough power to handle small to medium live shows.

This amp is capable of produceing anything from bright and crispy to punchy and rich acoustic sounds. It clean channel stays clean even at high volume. I am using Ovation CS-257 electric acoustic guitar and also a Fender 12 string guitar with Seymour Duncan Woody single coil pickup. It is an very quiet and does not make any noise. I have noticed a slight hum from the amp while using modulation effects. The overall sound quality of this amp is fantastic and I love it.

I have been playing guitar for the last 27 years. If this amp is stolen I would cry and report to police station to recover it. If all this efforts become useless then I will buy the same one again. I love every part of this amp and do not see anything to get hate about it. I compare it with Marshall, Fender acoustic amps and this is the best as far as sound quality, price, design and build quality is concerned. I choose it because it has too much good things with unbelieveable price. I wish it would have a provided dust cover. My email address: khjodat@mastertex.com

This amp was made in 2005, and as far as I see, this ist everything I need to amplify my acoustic guitars. You can plug in wo instruments or one instrument and a vocal mic, so it is perfect for a solo club gig.
There 99 programs with different sound features. No'w I've found some sounds e.g. to copy the sound of Eva Cassidy or Eric Clapton unplugged.
I use this amp for solo gigs in bars. It is loud enough to figth the noise in a coffeeshop.

I've owned this amp since Jan. 2003. I play in restaurants, private parties (indoor and outdoor) and live band situations. This amp has 2 channels with seperate effects for each channel adjustable for each channel. I've used every feature this amp has at one time or another and the amp has more features than any other acoustic amp I've ever seen. I'd give this amp a 9 1/2 - the 1/2 off because it's a little underpowered for live band situations. And this is a petty gripe since you can go direct from the amp to the PA and hear yourself in the monitors. In my acoustic duo, I use a mixer for the vocals into the mic channel and use the instrument channel for the guitars. Very versatile amp.

I currently have 4 Guilds - F50R, DCE5, D412, F4CE. I've also gone through an Alvarez MD90, a Martin D18-12, and a Yairi DY-71 since I've owned this amp. All except two of the Guilds (which have Fishman systems built in) have Dean Markley Sweet Spot pickups installed. These have really high gain (no batteries) and sound great - even when strumming very hard. In 3 different projects, 60's cover band, acoustic duo, and hard driving new country band, this amp has every sound I've needed and always sounds good. It will distort (a little, just a little) if you clip the instrument channel - just back it off and turn up the the master volume. With the tilt legs, I've also used it as a floor monitor. Great vocal sound. No noise at all. Maybe I just got lucky but this thing just keeps on pumping out the sound. I've tried almost every acoustic amp out there, Fishman, AER, Roland, Yorkville, Crate, SWR, Marshall and none of them sound better - at least not enough to warrant the added expense. Also, I bite my nails and the attack control on 6 or 7 make it sound like I'm using fingerpicks - my favorite effect on the amp. I just purchased a Fishman Loudbox, just for the added live band volume - it sounds a little thinner, the bass isn't as deep as the Behringer. And vocals do not sound good through the Fishman. But it is loud as hell.

As I've said, I've been using this several times a week for 3 1/2 years. I had one for 1 week before this one and blew the tweeter using it as a vocal monitor in a 6 piece band - all 6 voices at once and boom!- tweeter blown. Sent it back, store gave me another one right away. And the first one was quiet too. I've never had to contact Behringer but since I had such good luck with this amp I've purchased many Behringer products - power amps (3), subwoofers, mixers (3), effects processers, and none have let me down, ever.

Again, never had to deal with Behringer. At these prices and reliability I could deal with spotty customer service. The warranty is one year, and American Musical gave me another one. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on customer support.

I've been a musician for 30 years - mostly as a drummer but the last 10 years as both a guitar player and a drummer. If this amp were stolen (how can you lose an amp?) I would absolutely get another one. The versatility is unbeatable. Behringer has just come out with a more powerful acoustic amp but it doesn't have the features. When I need to be really loud I'll use the Fishman but for everything else this is my first choice. Use a quality rosewood guitar through this amp, play with the controls, and you'll melt like butter at the sound - especially finger style.

One last update to my previous two reviews. I finally figured out how to make this thing cut through the mix. if you run a mic cord out of the back and into one of the channels on the PA, you'll have all the volume you need. And it sounds great that way! It's held up well after nine months of regular use. The more I use it the better I like it! Well worth the money.

This is an update of my previous review. I've now had this amp for around 6 months. It has held up well and the more I play it the better it sounds. I used it one night with a band, and it completely got lost in the noise (and we weren't even terribly loud). It would make a great coffee house amp/solo singer-guitarist amp. So far I think it is well worth the money.

Okay- I just got this amp yesterday. Based on previous reviews, I'll either love it or hate it in a month, assuming it hasn't broken down yet. So I'll start with an initial impression, and check back in a month.
I decided to get an amp after playing my friend's Yorkville one night a few weeks ago- I was impressed with how good my guitar sounded compared to playing it through my Mackie PA (808M with Yamaha 115 speakers). So I checked out the same Yorkville amp, and realized I didn't want to spend nearly $600 dollars on an amp without any effects on the mic channel. I looked at the Behringer, and of course it was the cheapest available- I got it from Zzounds for $299- the same as all the other internet music places. I knew I was taking a risk, but figured if it was as good as some reviewers said it would be a deal. If it was as bad as other reviewers said, at least I would only be out 3 bills.
The features have been well described by others. I've had about 2 hours to play it- mainly through my Ibanez AEF30 acoustic-electric, but also tried my Fender 12-string acoustic-electric as well as a 25 year old Ovation Balladeer with a cheap Seymour Duncan Woodie soundhole insert pickup as well as with a 2004 Fender HSS strat and a Peavey 5-string Bass. I haven't had a chance to plug in my mandolin yet. I also sang through it, using a Shure PG48 and a few other less than perfect vocal mics I have laying around. I found the attack setting most useful when it was all the way off- I tend to strum and percuss kind of hard and the attack got a little intense. The tube emulator was okay if at 4-5- it did seem to make the sound a little fatter/richer/fuller. Some of the effects seem useless and hard to control, but the rotary speaker made a real nice effect if strummed in approximately the same tempo. The ability to have dual effects- different effect on guitar and vocal is a bonus, and one I did not expect from reading the reviews or the Behringer web site. There can be some noise with the digital effects on, but only seems to be an issue with the master above around 5.
On some settings, I seemed to get some wicked feedback-the two feedback knobs did not seem to touch it. Turning down the tube emulator seemed to help. At this point, I'm not quite sure if it was from the mic or the guitar as both were plugged in at the same time.
Even with less than perfect vocal mics and a voice that is always trying to get better, I think the vocal enhancer does a nice job. I know that I still need to tweak it before I get it as good as it gets, but so far, I am impressed with it.

I play a lot of different things. I have a little home recording studio with a drum machine. Things vary from fingerpicking alternate tuning Windham Hill stuff to electric blues to power-pop to classic rock. I also play with a few groups of friends- play bass with a really hot jazz guitarist, play some alt country with other people, and another classic rock band. These days we only play basements and parties, but have done some bar gigs in the past.
Very clean sounding with an electric guitar, but seems like it would not stand up to the volume level of a band. The acoustic seems to have more punch, but again, not sure if it would hold up to live band volumes. I'm disappointed that I can't duplicate the rich full sound of my Ovation balladeer- I'm sure if I spent a couple of hundred bucks on a good soundhole pickup that would be different. The Ibanez sounds pretty thin unplugged. Through my Mackie PA it sounds very full and bassy. Through this amp it sounds good- again, I know with time I will be able to tweak it better. I found that the "high pitch hiss" can be eliminated by messing with the feedback and especially the attack knobs.

I've been playing for around 25 years- dropped it for 7-8 years and have gotten serious again over the last 3 years. I own the guitars mentioned above, as well as a couple of other off brand electrics and an old Gretsch Japanese knockoff dreadnought (which may be the best sounding of the bunch unplugged). My electric amp currently is a Fender Deville 212- a nice amp but so damn loud at any setting that it is hard to use for recording clean stuff.

The first amp I recieved was noisy and had a motor boating sound in it. The second amp I recieved seemed to work allright at first although it had a burning smell after it had been operating about 5 minutes and the tone began to degrade so I shelved the amp. After about two years I decided I woud look at it and see if I could find the problem. I found the plus and minus 15 voltage regulator packs were missing the screws that mounted them to the heat sink.(this was comfirmed by Behringer Tech support on line) Both regulators were fried. I ordered the 7815 and 7915 from www.digikey.com. After replacing them and installing the heat sink screws the power amp works fine although when any reverb setting is used it has a loud hum. The total cost of repair was less than $30. The construction and materials used in this amp are supurb. The circuit board was fiber glass, the cable routing between the modules was great. I didn't see any evidence of poor quality anywhere. It looked like it was built to last. Aside from this break down in their process and inspection controls I think I would have been satisfied withe the amp.

60 watts/chennel, 120 watts total. I purchased this amp 2 years ago, and have used it extensively. I am very happy with the purchase. If the amp were lost or stolen I would purchase it again, without hesitation.
This amp is heavy. Solid and well made. I understand that some reviewers say it is noisy, but mine is quiet. I use a mixer to access the amp, and this may make a difference. The effects (99 presets) are well designed and very versatile and useful.
ONE SHORTCOMING: the "warmth" control is neat, but it increases the feedback on the voice channel. Unfortunately, the warmth control effects both channels simultaneously, which makes it much less usable. Behringer should allow the warmth control to be used on the two channels independently.

I use this amp primarily as a coffeehouse amp, with an Alvarez MF80C acoustic guitar. I use condenser mics. I use a Behringer mixer. I also use a Behringer compressor (Comproser Pro XL2600) and a Behringer automatic feedback destroyer (1124p). The combination allows me to provide plenty of volume to play and sing -- often with a second guitarist and vocalist, all of us using the Ultracoustic -- and be easily heard over the buzz of coffeehouse conversation. If you've been to these coffeehouse concerts, you know that the patrons don't sit quietly listening, as though it were a concert. They talk and laugh and sometimes yell!
This amp provides plenty of loudness! I also use it with my electric, running first through a modeller. I have also used this amp for small electric gigs, using an electric guitar amp and the Ultracoustic as a small PA unit for voice only. When I get a larger, standard PA (power amp and separate speakers) I will prolly use the Ultracoustic as a self-powered monitor speaker!!! Ha.

Let me both thank and reference you to Jim 6/2003 and Joe Blunt's reviews as I feel they are both very accurate in their details of this amp and prompted my purchase. One noted feature that has yet to be address in any of the reviews: The Effect pots on both channels. These allow the user to increase or reduce the Main Effect you've selected. Tuning is from 0 (no effect) to 99 controling a broad spectrum of change. Learn to tune this amp, all the settings actually work and you'll be very pleased with your purchase. Brillant chimey tone up top with an excellent bottom. My normal amp settings: Gain 7, Bass 9, Mid 5, Treble 2, Attack or Enhance 5, Warmth 7 with Master 6. These settings are just on the verge of excessive white noise and and other harmonics. Don't stand 3 feet away at these max settings and expect total silence, but step away 10 or 12 feet and you'll find quiet. Remember this is a coffee house amp.. respect it for what it is. You'll find the same noise from Marshall's accoustic amps and spend a whole lot more money finding out.

I am a dinosaur, played keys, guitar and bass since a kid, mostly Jazz, Blues, Country and Funk. A few onboard effects are just noisy unless you set 4 on the Master. Who care's.. the one's that remain are too tight.. perfect. Try 3, 6, 65 and 75 effects at default setting on any of your electrics. All my hollowbody Bucks or Single pups all sound outstanding! My acoustic dreadnought mic'ed is to die for. Here are few unexpected one's.. Bass is outrageous and no doubt I will have some disbeliever's but thru my De Armond Pilot Pro strung with TI flats and effect 65.. heck you'd think you were on a upright. Tight, punchy and a ton of bottom that would easily work in a small venue setting. Keyboards too sound great. People this amp has got the sounds if you just learn to dial it in!

Personally if I am craving for more tube warmth and distortion I have a Dean Markley CD-60 that will take care of that itch. For $349.95 including shipping this amp's a steal.

i demo-ed the acx1000 in auckland's rock shop. i've been doing my homework on acoustic amps for some time, having played only acoustic for the last 4 years and guitar for 15.
this LOOKED like the amp to deliver great sound, features, and value. sadly not to be...
i don't feel like i can rate the "features" as the following kinda negates that. what's the use of something loaded with features if it's unusable?

sounds, yes, well...
i play an all solid vega dreadnought, very martin-esque, with k&k pickups under the bridge.
this matters not though, as the amp itself hums, loudly.
that's all there is to it. i've read various reviews and it seems there are goodies and baddies out there. so i guess i got a baddie.
we plugged in, and channel one just buzzed away. and that's before the volume got to half way.
i hoped, (god i hoped), that the stores other branches around the country might have other behringers that were the not suffering from this.
they rang around and found four (4) other amps. they got staff to turn these amps on and test them.... all did the same!
i was really wanting this amp, on paper it reads perfect. but in reality there is something really wrong with the wiring or whatever is inside it.
to be fair, the tone i could hear from the acx was a lot nicer than the fender acoustisonic, and comparable to the marshallAS50R, which had the roundest/warmest sound.
but ultimately it is flawed in the worst way for an acoustic guitar player.

The amp has a great clear sound. I use it for church services and 2 guitars are plugged into it. My guitar is a Washburn d10sce and it sounds great through the amp and so does the other guitarists.
The amp suits the music style that we play on it including choruses, hymns and modern semi acoustic rock. We only have the amp on 5 and have to turn our EQ's on our guitars down otherwise we drown out the other instruments.
The attack and warmth features help to increase the impact of the higher level sounds. The amp so far is generating very little noise at high levels in comparison to other amps in it's price range.
Although this amp doesn't have the same sound quality as an AER amp or a Yorkville Acoustic it is important to remeber that it costs a lot less and is only marginally lower quality in sound.

I picked up this amp from Musician's Friend in the spring of 2003. I paid about $299.99 for it. There are 99 presets that one can tweak and fiddle with ad infinitum. It is a two channel solid state amp that allows one to play two guitars, a guitar and a harmonica, a guitar and a keyboard, a guitar with miked vocals, and so on. A foot pedal allows one to change up to 4 settings (there is a slight delay when changing settings). As this is an acoustic amp, there are controls to deal with feedback, one can adjust the attack (nice for finger picking) and a tube emulator (which even if it doesn't sound all that tubelike does warm up the sound a bit). It has 2 8 inch speakers and a piezo tweeter. Nice. Will play in stereo. Could possible use another piezo tweeter (for better stereo).
It is a heavy combo amp (48 lbs) and would be smashing with wheels and a handle to pull it around. It serves my purposes well as a hobbyist, ex-pro performance artist, who may be coaxed up on stage once in a whilel.

I have 4 guitars. Two acoustic with Marverick Semour Duncan sound hole pick-ups--an Alvarez 12 string 5054 and a Yamaha FG-180 6 string. I have an Ovation Celebrity Deluxe Acoustic/Electric 6 string and an Ibanez JP-20 hollowbody electric.
I play folk, rock, jazz, blues, country and some classical. The amp works well with whatever I want to play although it is noisy on some channels (c'est la vie), but its not too distracting. It works well with all my guitars, except the Ibanez JP-20 (it's only okay with it). I think the Ibanez needs a different sort of amp to really fit its sound (something tube). The Ovation and the ACX1000 have an incrediable synergy! This is simply astonishing at how well they work together. Unamped the Ovation (268--deep body) is okay (but nothing all that special), but amped it comes alive and sounds fantastic. Jaw dropping fantastic at that. If one has an Ovation acoustic/electric, one really should give the ACX1000 a whirl. This is why I bought the amp (that and the decent price). I give it a 10 with the Ovation, an 8 with the Alvarez and the Yamaha acoustics with cheap sound hole pickup, and a 6 with the Ibanez (my best guitar, but not with the ACx). So overall, I'll give it a 10 as I did select it for my Ovation.

I've been playing guitar for about 33 years. I write music, have gigged as a performance artist and as a musician, and am always trying to learn more and improve my playing. If my ACX10000 were stolen, lost, or simply blewup, I'd most probably shell out some clams for another (good price, exxcellent features). I might possibly check out the competition in the acoustic amp realm and if I was willing to shell out more clams, upgrade. Still, one can't go wrong with the ACX1000. The only thing that disturbs me is that the company ignores customers (and that might tip the scales to the competition). I like its versitility, its features, its sound, and its good looks (it looks like a 1,000 dollar amp). I'm pretty happy with my ACX1000 and regard it as an excellent choice. The only reason why I can't give it a 10 is that I suspect Behringer is rather lame regarding customer service.

My Amp was built 2004 and I bought this for my exercising room.
This Amp has a lot of features inputs / outputs and effects.
From this point of view no problem, good execution.
After 200km car transport (on a smooth street), the left and right upright screw began to loose and fell inside...
This kind of construction is bad, I have to open the amp and look for the screws. Price 333,-- Euros

I own a 6 string Ovation Custom Legend and a 12 String Ovation Elite with piezopick ups, built 1992, and a Trace Elliot TA 200R and TA 50 R.
I play classic and rock guitar.
I'm playing guitar for 30 years.
The Behringer Amp sounds soapy and noisy with an increasing hiss, increasing loudness.
I never would buy this Amp again, it is far far away from my Trace Elliot Amps.
But you have to keep in mind tht the price of my TA 50 R was 800 Euros and for the TA 200R 2000 Euros
The ACX 1000 is something for a beginner, exercising in small rooms.
If you own guitars with piezo pick ups, try to find a Trace Elliot
in good condition anywhere. From my point of view this is still the
best Amp for acoustic guitars.
But for 333 Euros you can't expect more than the ACX 1000 offers.
Its a toy....

A lot of features packed in this amp. Call it the ultimate acoustic amp is not an over statement. You can connnect acoutic guitar, classical guitar (nylon string), electric guitar (beautiful clean sound). You can plug in a microphone to sing. You can connect a CD player or a keyboard/drum machine too. And the price is good.

The sound is excellent below 4 on the volume dial. Very quiet (can be used in studio for recording!) I was able to get some of the BEST classical nylon string sound out. The best I've ever heard. Microphone amp is also pretty good and you can EQ to get a good sound out. The problme is that once pass 4 on the volume dial, noise and hiss start to be heard. I guess this could be due to the fan was not isolated well. Once the volume pass 6, the noise become really an issue in my quiet studio (may not be an issue in a bar). Besides noise issue at high volume, the amp sound great, full, clean. Even at volume of 4, the amp is plenty loud. I guess if they can have clean sound all the way up to 8 on the volume dial, I'll give them a 10 (but they might have to double the price on the amp).

Overall very good amp for the money. I sold my guitar amp, my keyboard amp, my microphone mixer and bought this amp and had money left over. It is great for gigs since you don't have to carry 2 amps. I wish they can improve the design and reduce the noise at higher volume. If they do, then they will have NO competition at all. I even use it with my electric guitar and all I had to do is to put a distortion peddle in its effect loop and I got one amp that does everything! For the price and features and sound, I rate this as 9. If they can furture reduce the noise, I'll rate this as 10.

The features of this amp have been pretty well covered, so I won't list them. I will say, though, that this amp offers a lot for the money! No other amp comes close. Getting a good one seems to be the challenge. I love the fact that I can plug my drum machine into the aux-in and sing through one channel and play my guitar through the other. You can be a one man band!

You have to spend some time with this amp and your guitar to get a good sound, but once you are there, it sounds great. The effects are excellent and being able to switch them with the included footswitch is very convenient. I play my passive Ovation acoustic/electric through channel one and I sing through a mic attached to channel two. It's everything I hoped it would be.

The first amp I got worked great for a month, then channel one started making a continuous popping noise. Shortly thereafter, channel two crapped out. I returned it to Behringer in January, and it took them until May to replace it. They were very nice in dealing with me, but they kept telling me that my new amp would arrive in about a week. It never would and I would have to call them again. It was a painful process.

Bought the ACX late last year from a local dealer for 300 bucks. It plays acoustic instruments remarkably well if you know how to set the sound controls. 2 channels, one is suited for pre amped pickup systems, the other suited for a mike input. Digital effects with 99 presets and footswitching. The instrument channel has gain, 4 eq knobs, feedback notches and master out. The mike channel has similar controls although the eq controls are slightly different. There is a 'warmth' emulation circuit is not like the warmth most amp afficianados are interested in. There are bunches of line outputs, stereo effects send/return, tuner send and more.
This amp seems to be made to provide an all-in-one PA for coffee shops and even larger settings. What is missing from this amp is a mute button for the speaker. It would be nice to be able to record with this amp at night when my wife is asleep. Miked or line out to another PA, it really does enhance the sound of my guitar.
The feedback controls are mysterious circuits from Behringer, supposed to aid in canceling or notching out the freqency dictated by the feedback controls. I tried getting a better explanation about these controls from Behringer tech support and they could only give me a vague description of what these circuits do. I wish the feedback knobs were graduated in terms of Hertz, instead of a generic 1-10 scaling.
While it is cool that the effects are sent out in stereo through the woofers, I wish that the piezo was in stereo pair instead of the single one. I only noticed this after listening to Steely Dan through the cd in's on this strange animal of an amp. Steely Dan sounded remarkably good through the cd in's I must add.
This amp is heavy enough for me to wish it were lighter. I'm seriously considering adding handles to the sides of this thing to ease my roadies' back complaints. It has some awesome kick stands for leaning back in combo style. It seems solid in construction.

Ok, like I said, you need to know how to adjust this amp to make it sound good for your instrument. Right now, I play a Gibson Blues King with a Fishman preamped bridge piezo. Plugged into the instrument channel, my acoustic gets more character and projects much of the nuances available on an acoustic.
If you are having trouble with the sound of this amp, start with these settings: Gain 5, Low 5, Mid 5, Hi 5, Attack 1-2, Feedback1 1, Feedback2 1, Warmth 5. Respect the attack control. It can make your guitar seem ear piercing and harsh. Bring up the gain and the Low a little if you are still not completely satisfied with your instrument's tone.
The 'warmth' is not warmth in the sense of tube overdrive. Instead, it adds a sparkle to the upper frequencies and allows my higher pitched strings to project much better than they would otherwise. Soloing around the B and E strings is very nice with the warmth set on 6 for my guitar.
The digital effects are well done sonicly and they are just icing on the cake after its all said and done. I've just taken to playing with one of the reverb-delay effects lately and not even changing effects.
There is a noticeable delay/drop out when switching between the 4 presets. That has probably squelched some excitement over the effects. They are well done, but not something you want to play around with ultimately.
Sonicly, this amp really impressed me when I played Steely Dan Aja through the CD ins. Wish I could make it sound like that with my own axe!

This amp has really improved my acoustic sound. I play in a band through a PA and this amp has really added to our overall sound. I do turn up the Low on it if the band is really playing loud. I usually don't turn the master up past 6. This is generally where I encounter typical feedback hum. I've got a feedback blocker but almost never use it with this amp. It gets enough volume without it.
I have barely used the mike input. I imagine I could get some solo acoustic gigs around town with a mike for vocal, my guitar plugged into this amp and a CD player for set break.

I was concerned with the sound before buying it. I purchased it from eBay so did not have the chance to try it out. I have tried out several other acoustic amps in the music store, but was unimpressed with most, especially the Fenders. I know that even if an amp sounds good in the store, when you get it home you can be disappointed (I was with my Fender DSP 90). But, this things sings! The acoustic sounds are rich and ringing. The feedback controls work great. The effects and the tube type sound are icing on the cake. AND, my electric guitars sound great through this thing also. Maybe I was just lucky, but this amp will provide all that I need for my acoustic and electric guitars!

This is the best looking, feature filled, but worst sounding acoustic guitar amp I've ever heard. And I've been at this for over 30 years!
This amp looked so good in the magazine, that I almost ordered it without listening to it. But a local store got some in and I took my Talor 414 KCE into the store to try it out. Well, I thought the amp was broken or defective because it sounded so bad. They brought out another one, same sound. Thin, thin, thin is all I can say! Other than I was so very disappointed... as I really WANTED this amp to be "the one". My Crate 125D, with it's own limitations, sounds a hundred times better than this rig. And I'm truly disappointed in Behringer! They do and can make quality products!!! I am almost sure that they will come out with "version II" of this amp within 12 months. And then they will have given it the "guts" it needs. And when they do, I will buy it... even if it's a $100 more.

This amp can do just about everything, it has more effects than one would(or should)ever need. It also has more I/O's than I'll ever use.(cd / drum machine etc.) I can't possibly explain all the detailed features in this segment.(see Behringer website) The effects section is confusing to put it mildly, you have to dial in (from 1-99) what effect you want, (chorus/delay etc.)with one knob, and then tweak the depth with another, I prefer maybe, 6-8 effects selected by one knob. This amp has 92 too many.

Stunning, is the first word that comes to mind. This thing is a Pinto in a Mercedes body. I play a Taylor 414CE with a Fishman Prefix, and just flat can't get anything out of this amp that sounds close to good. I've tried countless combinations of effects and clean and effects to no avail. It sounds thin and hollow up and down. Maybe mine has a wire crossed or something, but it ain't right. As we speak, it's being boxed back up for shipment back to American Musical Supply.(I also returned a Behringer Gx210 combo last month for sounding like crap)

In the user's manual, Uli Behringer devotes an entire page trumping the time and effort put forth (He even cites individual engineers names)researching acoustic instruments nuances, prior to marketing this amplifier. It just boggles the mind that something that has so many features, and looks the part(it is beautiful!)can sound like nails on a blackboard. But I guess Yugo had engineers too. Like I said before, maybe I got a bad one, but two... I dunno. ...Unpluged in Seattle....

I use an Ovation Celebrity 6 string with built-in electronics and a Guild 12-string with aftermarket Fishman transduer. Both sound wonderful through this amp, with or without effects. Some effects can be overwhelming -- keep the levels low. At the store there was some hiss, but at home it's silent. Must have had a poor ground at the store or something. Haven't tried cranking the master beyond 5 yet, so not sure about high volume distotion, but it's squeaky clean at lower volumes. The voice enhancer circuit is a nice touch too -- almost sounded like someone else was singing (grin).

This is a 2002 Acoustic Amp. Designed by Behringer in Germany and built in China (What isn't nowadays). This amp has two channels. 1 dedicated for instruments and 1 for microphone or other instrument. It has a built in effects processor with 99 editable presets. You can preset 4 of them and access with either onboard buttons or footswitch (supplied). It has every feature you could want with an acoustic amp. I just got this last month, so I am still experimenting with it. I use this amp as a bedroom amp, no gigging. It is a 2 X 60 Watt stereo amp with 2 8" speakers and a tweeter cone. It has a tuner output connection that mutes the output, so you can hook a tuner for quick on-stage tuning. It is solid state and has many many featues including effects loop, warmth control, MIDI control, 2 feedback controls/channel.

I use this guitar with a Hohner EA65CEQ and a Kramer Condor. This amp sounds fantastic with both of them. I fingerpick and also strum. It has some noise, but most amps have a slight amount of noise. My amp is pretty quiet compared to some. With the 99 preset effects you have a pretty awsome collection of sounds. Chorus, Delay, several Reverbs, Flanger, Tremolo, Rotary Speaker, and a Bypass mode that just gives you a sweet unprocessed output.

This amp arrived in great shape from American Musical Supply. Behringer gave me a 1 year warranty and AMS added another year to it. It is double boxed and has styrofoam bracing around the amp. Even UPS couldn't damage it. Like I said I don't gig, but for me it will last a long time. If you read reviews on AMS there are some of these amps that people had trouble with. However AMS just let them send them back and exchanged it for a new one. Mine arrived working perfectly. Maybe I am lucky, or maybe the only people that wrote into AMS were the people that had problems.

I did compare features when I bought this amp, there was no other amp that could match it for the price. It has everything you could want in an acoustic amp. I know it doesn't matter, but it is the best looking acoustic amp I have seen. I just wish it had a front on/off switch (how petty is that?).
