2004 -2 seperate 50w channels with analog amp modeling and 99 digital effects for each.Controlled by a footswitch.Built in tuner thats good.Plenty of in & stereo out's and a headphone jack.Open back fairly large size with 2/12's.Plenty of power but it shines at low volume fat sound.

Sound Quality : 10
Plenty to choose from if you tweak your sounds.Digital effects are similar to say your basic digitech or zoom which can be cheezy when overdone.I like the rotary speaker setting clean and the lead channel hot on magic drive. The analog tones are very good.Alot of choices.

Been playing 30 years.Strats & G&L legacy.Great studio and practice amp that can handle medium size gigs.Great bang for the buck.
I have rated it for what it is, a low cost solid state combo mombo.I wouldn't say that it can replace tubes but does offer a ton of features.

The features? Oh my, where to start. On the front panel you find both channels, which can be switched using the included footswitch, each featuring a 3-band equaliser, drive and level control, and three switches for the analoge modeling. The modeling switches each have three settings:

Amp: Tweed, British, Calif(ornian)
Gain: Clean, Hi-gain, Hot
Speaker: Flat, Uk, US

There's also an inbuild multi-FX units which can be set seperately for both channels, and can also be turned on/off using the footswitch, and a general presence/master volume control.

If possible, the rear panel has even more features: Stereo Speaker Out, Midi-in, footswitch-in, Heaphone, Stereo slave-in, Stereo tape in/out, Line-out, Aux-in (with seperate volume control), FX send/return. I have absolutely no idea what anyone would miss. As for the Big Ultra Main features:

2x50W into 2 12" Jensen speakers. Weigths around 24 kilos.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a double-fat strat straight into this amp. As for being versatile, you would be hard pressed to find anything better in this price range. From crystal clean all the way to soaring lead sounds, the modeling takes care of all your basic needs. I really find it very hard to find anything wrong with the modeling part. If you only use Tweed/Clean/Uk and british/Clean/Uk you're already able to go from ultra clean to Clapton blues to SRV blues to AC/DC crunch using nothing but the gain knob. And the other gain modes and the Californian simulation and the tonal diversity is overwhelming. To add to the joy, noise is virtually absent. Although this might be different with single-coil pickups, I only experience very slight noise when the gain is at 10 with the higher gain modes.

However, there are a few things that need to be mentioned. To start with, the volume on the tweed/clean is very, very low. You need to set everything to 10 to properly compete with a drummer, which is a huge difference with the other simulations. During the last rehearsal I didn't dare to crank master volume past 5/10, fearing the concrete basement was about to collapse. I have no idea if the distortion remains as great at maximum volume, and in all honesty I hope I'll never find out.

A second negative point is the onboard effects unit. Without midi-control you can only modify one parameter, and you simply don't have enough control. This is espescially bad with effects like flanger and phaser where you need to have proper control over the speed. The wah is also exceptionally bad. Luckily the reverbs/delays are ok enough, and those are the only effects I really use ayway. But don't throw your collections of pedals away when you buy this amp.

It's hard to give a score here. If you totally rely on effects and have no external devices, then you are in trouble. If you always play totally clean, but need loud volumes without going into a PA, then you'll have trouble as well. If you're like me, and want just a basic reverb and lots of variety from the amp itself, this is a great purchase. If you figure in the insanely low price ($270 for people in the states!) it easily is 10/10.

Reliability : No Opinion
Hard to say. Had it for two weeks now, used it daily, no issues at all. It looks solid enough, although the knobs are of plastic. The I/O stuff is all worked away well, but these knobs could easily be damaged when walking in narrow corridors. Behringer has a bad reputaion if reliablility is concerned, but my friend and I have been using about 5 behringer amps and nothing ever happened, same goes for the V-amp2 I had.

But we'll see. If anything happens I'll report it. If nothing happens I'll report it as well...

The warranty is one year, which is a bit short. Furter more, repairing broken amps seems to be a process unknown to Behringer, they just ship a new one. I've contacted them a few times, and although they were friendly, they appeared to be horribly understaffed. Just pray you don't have to contact them.

Overall Rating : 10
Time for a conclusion. When shopping for a new amp I was initially focussed on the Behringer V-ampire and the Line6 SpiderII. However, both seemed rather 'dead' and 'liveless'. Hard to explain. This one was in the same price-range, and simply sounded better, although the effects were dissapointing.

In short: this baby is cheap, loud, filled with tonal diversity and has tons of I/O options. For the price paid it's a no-brainer, try to find a 100W 2x12" analoge modeling amp with all these options for E300. I'm sure a real marshall stack rocks harder, a Fender Twin Reverb has a better clean and a Line6 VettaII is more versatile. But in this price range it simply reigns.

Made in 2003. This amp gives me all the sounds that I heard in my head and then some. Two independent channels, both with 99 presets. The only thing I wish this amp came with would be the midi pedal sold seperatly. I use this amp in my home recording and it works better than I would have hoped.50W X 2 is more than enough for home use. If you wanted to use this as a gigging amp it would more than be enough. If you don't think this amp is loud enough maybe you have damaged your ears. It's loud enough to piss the wife off, that's loud enough for me.

Sound Quality : 10
I read some others reviews for this amp that said it didn't have good distortion, well I was raised on old Metallica,Slayer, then later Pantera,Korn and so on. It can get the distortion I want with no trouble at all. Just sit down and play around with this thing and you will get any type of distortion you want. The presets on the amp are ok but I suggest playing around with these as well. There are all kinds of hidden sounds just begging to be set free.

Reliability : No Opinion
This I can't say yet, I've only had it a few weeks. Time will tell and I'll let you know 6 months from now if I feel the quality is lacking.

I have been very pleased so far. Hopefully I won't need them.

I've been playing off and on for the past 13 years. I have had many guitars over the years but always come back to Ibanez. Right now I have an '83 DG350 Ibanez, think Dimebag,a fender Strat,Yamaha acoustic,Norman electric-acoustic. The only other amp I have is my little Fender Sidekick 35 Reverb, cool little amp that's as tough as a Timex. I tried a lot of amp before picking this one, the Marshall MG series, all are poor I.M.O., Line 6, Crate, Roland etc. None came close for money to value ratio. You can get better amps but you will be paying a lot more for them. Bottom line is there is a new champ for low priced gear and it's name is Behringer.

Made 2004, Extremely versatile, shimmering cleans akin to a certain Fender combo, but where it really shines is the analog modeling. The analog modeling is almost identical to a Sansamp GT-2 pedal I once had. The Sansamp GT-2 is an awsome pedal for modeling. Modeling is very straight forward, selections ranges from tweed, british, california voicings - drive, hot, hi-gain settings, and then cabinets settings such as flat EQ, 2 X 12, & 4 X 12. Like I said very similar to the Sansamp GT-2 only this amp has more tweeking abilities with extra an presence knobs. I play metal - Classic Rock and this amp covers that genre very well.

Sound Quality : 10
I play an Gibson SG custom, w/Seymore Duncans. I play Heavy Metal & Classic Rock. Covers these styles extremely well. I have the optional FCB1010 midi floor board that cost $ 115.00 and it was a worth while addition, I can now control my effects individually. This amp has 99 different 24 bit effects! WOW!

Reliability : No Opinion
Have only had it a few days, so time will tell.

Customer Support : 9
Great website and I asked them by email a few questions about setting up the foot pedal and I had an answer within 6 hours! WOW!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since I was 15 and I am now 35, so I know a good sound. I played professionally for about 4 years, Bass guitar. I've only been playing guitar for about 4 years now. I would definitely buy this amp again if it was stolen! I don't know,...... would they allow me to have an amp in prison? as this is surely where I'll go for murdering the chump that stole this from me!

2x12 100w combo with 2 non programmabel channels, each with 3 switches with 3 positions for selecting gain.speaker emulation and amp model.

The fx unit is full midi.

clever thing here is to use the behringer midi floor controller to send 1 message to channel change and a second to choice fx.That way you get instant access tone control like a normal amp and the benefit of prog fx.THis is the best part of the amp.You dont have to program the EQ per "program" like a spider...you just select channel 1 or 2 and add an effect.Lifesaver live.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
awesome.jcm800 or metal boogie no problem..i have a tokai lp and an ibanez and both soudn great.plenty of headroom for mid sized gigs

no tubes to worry about.big transformer..

amazing.a 2x12 combo with decent lead sounds and a full fx midi unit for #200!!! how do they do it? way more usefull than a line6 live due to non programmable tone controls.buy one.i sold my line6 spider to get this.ITs far cheaper than the 2x12 spider and mutch easier to use live.

BRAND-NEW OUT OF THE BOX. I PLAY BOSTLY BLUES WITH SOME NEAL YOUNG TYPE HARD ROCK. 2 CHANNELS(YOU CAN TWEEK THEM ANY WAY YOU WAN'T)IT'S GOT 99 PRE SET EFFECTS WITH SOME GOOD REVERB AND DELAY. COMES WITH FOOT SWITCH. YOU CAN HOOK A MIDI CONTROLLER TO IT TO CONTROL EFFECTS ALSO ($149.00).I WILL MOSTLY USE IT IN MY STUDIO, BUT SEEMS GIG WORTHY TO ME. 5O WATTS TIMES 2 ( IN OTHER WORDS 50 WATTS)

Sound Quality : 8
I USE A FENDER STRAT. PRETTY GOOD FOR A MODELING AMP. BETTER THAN THE LINE 6 SPIDER AND ROLAND CUBES I TRIED. IT NAILS THE TWIN-REVERB SOUND VERY CLOSE, AND THATS WHAT I USE MOST. IT CAN DO THE MARSHALL AMP SOUND, BUT NOT QUITE AS GOOD. I CAN PLAY ROCKIN IN THE FREE WOURLD AND IT SOUND CLOSE TO THE AMP SOUND THAT NEAL YOUNG USES. A BIT OF NOISE WITH HIGH GAIN SETTING IF TOU CRANK IT UP , BUT IN THE NORMAL RANGE FOR A STRAT. OTHERWISE VERY QUIET

Reliability : 8
I'E ONLY HAD IT FOR A WEEK BUT SEEMS PRETTY WELL MADE, BUT THE KNOBS COULD BE MORE HEAVY

Customer Support : No Opinion
DON'T KNOW ,BUT BEHRINGER HAS ONE HALLAVA GOD WEB SITE.

Overall Rating : 9
BEEN PLAYING FOR 34 YEARS, I DID HAVE A PRINCETON CHORUS, AND HAVE MANY AMPS OVER THE YEARS (WHEN I WAS 14 I GOT A USED TWIN REVERB FOE $145.00, IT WAS 4 YEARS OLD)I WOULD MOST CERTANLY GET A REPLACE THIS AMP.IT AINT NO TUBE AMP BUT FOR THE PRICE IT'S KINDA CLOSE. I HAVE PLAYED ON AMPS THAT COST OVER TWICE WHAT I PLAYED THAT DID NOT SOUND THIS GOOD. I TRIED A MARSHALL MG212 (500.00) IT WOULD BE VERY CLOSE. THE MARSHALL WAS GREAT AND HAD MORE POWER BUT THE BEHRINGER HAD A BETTER BLUES TONE, AND A LOT MORE EFFECTS--YOU WONT COME CLOSE TO THIS FORE THE PRICE.
