This amp offered 30 watts, 99 digital effects and 2 channels at a 10 to 15 watt plain vanilla practice amp price. For the money, it was a great buy. Though it offers 99 effects - you can only save and trigger two while playing. I also notice a slight but annoying delay when switching between channels or effects. (i.e. Dead Air) Any other sounds must be dialed in by number manually with a pot using the LED display as a guide. (Kind of like setting an alarm clock holding the button down...watching the clock display advance or retreat, minute by minute). I had more than 2 favorite effects I liked to use, but I always had to stop playing to reset to the ones I need whenever the song changes moods. (Bought a multi-effects pedal/stomp box to remedy this. Don't use the amp's effects much anymore.

This amp provides many different sounds, vintage and classic sounds, current effects and sounds. The sound is pretty clean for the price paid. Can handle a small room or garage gig, but wouldn't expect more from it. It's my alternative to a practice amp and I am pleased when comparing the sound to those similarly priced amps.

Can I depend on it? Unfortunately no and this disappoints me greatly. (I remember having an old "SEARS" electric guitar amp as a kid that never had this problem and never failed.) The power switch and/or power supply on this Behringer GX110 is crap and faulty and has been for a long time. Sometimes it does not turn on when you flip the rocker switch and you have to jiggle it around. It hasn't been used that much either! (Bad connectors.) Then when you are playing - you never have confidence or know when the switch may fail and you lose power again. Sometimes it turns on or turns off with a loud popping noise - other times it works perfectly. Poor quality component is to blame and may likely be a recurring problem based on other reviews I've read here. This amp is out of warranty - so I will likely replace the power switch with a decent quality rocker switch. Until I repair it myself, I wouldn't trust it anywhere outside of my home without a backup. (Don't try this at home kids. I am a trained electronics technician.) lol

I was told that it was 14 months old and out of warranty. Between the expense of troubleshooting, repair costs and shipping I would do better to replace it with an entirely new amp under warranty.
What a shame for having to replace a crappy $1.00 rocker switch with a decent $3.99 part.

If it wasn't for the crappy power switch and channel/effects switching problems this amp would have received a 9 easily. Bad components used for the switches have dragged it down from a "kick-ass" little amp, to a "wish I could use it without problems" type of amp. Many times I want to jam on my guitar and won't even plug it in because I don't feel like messing with it to get it to work or worrying that I might fry the electronics because of the faulty components. So I plug the headphones and guitar into my effects box when I practice instead of my cool amp which I bought for practicing with!!! It's sad I know. I hope some of the folks at Behringer are reading this.

Clean sound is pretty clean until cranked. Gain... with gain full-on, it's sort of the Soldano-type buzzy distortion... With gain channel's volume up completely and gain used to comtrol volume -- in essence, reverse the functions -- it gets a nice compressed lead tone great for jazz, R&B, and rock in the David Gilmour fashion.
How does it suit my style? I use two of them in my lesson studio. Also, I usually bring one along if I go on the road -- very convenient in a hotel room... I play keys through the RCA inputs as well and they sound nice and clean.
For what it is, it's a great amp. Does it compare to a good tube amp? I've heard tube amps do a lot worse, but compared to a GOOD tube amp, this doesn't compare, nor should it.

I've heard all kinds of things about behringer, but it has all been here at HC. As for people that I know who use this stuff, I've never known someone who's had a problem... And none so far for me (knock on wood). Really though, it's a cheap amp... if it breaks and is not under warrantee, throw it away and buy another!

One year warrantee I believe, but I don't have the paper work in front of me, so I'm really just guessing from vague memory... Nice thick manual that came with it -- mine is still shrink wrapped... very simple amp to use, no need for a 50 page manual?

Overall, for $70, one can not complain! A nice, simple, two channel practice amp (not for gigging) with some cool features and a decent sound. I've heard a lot worse... Definitely a better buy than the Crate and Fender amps in this range.
Would I buy it again? Well, I bought one to see if it was any good, then bought another. I use them in my studio when teaching -- so I don't burn up my tubes in my real amps.
How long have I been playing? -- my whole life. I've been teaching music for over 16 years. I did look at a few other little amps -- the Rolands, and some others that I can't think of -- the behringer was less than half the cost of everything else, yet sounds just as good.

I bought this amp from Musician's Friend in May of 2005 for $69.00 new. It definatly fits all genres of music that I play. The 2 channels provide individual effect scenarios. I am very impressed with all of the imputs and outputs the this amp has. I plug it into my Roland Jazz Chorus 120 and get all the volume that I require out of the two. This little amp is pretty loud by itself and is very light and portable, unlike the Roland.

I use this amp with my Gibson ES-335 and my Epiphone Emporer II (11-52 flat wound strings). The clean sound is pretty good and it does crunch a little at full volume, which is fine. The reverb is supurb. I like the distortion, its very manageable.

This posting is a follow-up, as I did the repairs about drop-outs.
No problems now, but I would make some points clear:
It is a practice amp, you won't get anything decent past4-5 at the master volume, and you should think of it as a 15 watts amp. My marshall mg15cdr sounds at least as loud, and its tone stays fine at high levels which is absolutely not the case on the ultraroc.

The trick is to use it as a preamp (plug a phone jack in the socket to mute the speaker, a go with a cinch-jack cable into a bigger amp's return socket).
Then you'll find it very satisfying, clean and overdriven. I use a clean booster to push the drive channel into solo leads and it does good.
The effects are great, and not only the current ones. Just take the time to try. By the way you can store your setting by press-and-hold the effects button for more than 3seconds.
The remote is great(you can off the fx, when using an octaver for example) and the lag is inexistent if you have the same effect on the two channels (which I often do: spring reverb, and basta)
The preamp is well done, only the power amp/speker are weak.

Take it for what it is, use it as a preamp if you want to play loud and I can't see you unhappy. With a booster it makes a 3-channel amplifier/preamplifier and it works fine. Of course boosters are many and you'll have to choose the right one... I play lead solos a la santana with lots of guts and sustain and the best booster I found is a boss turbo distortion ds2(level max, drive min, tone flat, turbo off), go figure...
It helps make music, because it is not too typed and of the effects. Jazz, funk, basic rock, blues, and with the speaker simulations(effect 98) you even gets mean driven tones.
For the price paid it is a ten.

I bought my GX110 second-hand just yesterday. For the price it is probably one of the best amps on offer. The other reviews have covered the features, so I want repeat them all here. I am impressed with the number of features and especially the prospect of creating my own effects. The trouble is I've skimmed the manual & can't see anything on how to edit the effects. Does anyone know any websites that can help here? There are plenty of output options, with a lineout, headphones and speaker outputs.

I play jazz with a Maton George Golla (Australian made Jazz guitar with twin humbuckers), and the sound is decent for the price & portability. I haven't tried my electric (Yamaha Pacifica with Strat pickups) through it yet but I reckon it will be more suited to that guitar. Some of the built-in effects sound pretty muddy but there are a few useful ones too. Once I work out how to tweak the effects I'm sure I will get a nice sound for jazz, and the amp seems well-suited to blues also. The sound doesn't compare to my 1980's Roland Jazz Chorus which weighs a ton but is the sweetest thing you'll ever hear.
There is a small amount of background hiss, but you don't notice it while you're playing.
While it is nothing spectacular, I was impressed with the even sound of the amp. Most cheap amps don't seem to handle the highs on my guitar too well, and the top string often sounds twangy or doesn't sound out properly. On this amp all the strings ring out clearly and evenly all the way up the neck. For me this indicates a level of quality that you don't find in most amps at this price.
I bought this amp for rehearsals & small cafe gigs, and I think it will suit this purpose just fine without knocking any socks off.

Since I've only had the amp for 24 hours I can't comment on reliability. The problems other folks have had are a bit of a worry - but I'll wait & see what happens. I agree that the speaker probably can't handle the amp at full volume, but I won't need it that loud anyway so hopefully won't have any probs.

I've been playing for 10 years, (professionally for 4 years) and have tried out many cheap amps, but most of them are just toys really. While the sound of the GX110 is merely adequate (for my needs), it is obviously a quality amp and is a cut above most amps of this price.
If it was lost or stolen I wouldn't rush out to buy the same amp again but would probably shop around a bit more - I bought this one because it was cheap and I knew it wouldn't last long at the 2nd hand shop.
This amp would probably benefit from a bigger speaker, as it does sound like it's pushing a bit too much power thru the little 10 inch speaker. It would probabaly sound great if I connect the lineout to my PA which is 400 watts with big 15 inch speakers.
PS - please let me know if you can help with editing the effects!

Hi folks! I have had a lot of demands, here is how to solve this amp's problem.
The power amp(power transistor) is poorly fixed on its radiator with almost no heat-conducting paste. Therefore it overheats and shuts off every now and then, which proves its protection circuitry works fine... So I demounted it and put enough paste, and tightened its mounting screws solidly:no more problems.
If you are unexperienced but don't have 2left hands, here is the procedure: Before all, don't touch electronics parts since your own static may damage some of them(especially in the fx section).
1. Disconnect the speaker and free its cable from the staples.
2.Unscrew the 6 mounting screws and take the head apart, unplug the mains of course!
3.See the black aluminium radiator on the bottom? Disconnect the socket just above it(big brown-black-brown wires) and unscrew the power transistor from the radiator. DON'T LOOSE THE LITTLE SQUARE PLASTIC SHEET that isolates electrically the amp from the radiator, or you'll have a big short-circuit later.
4.From under, demount the radiator(4screws). From behind, unscrew all the jacks and the cinch(1screw) and pull the module slightly out(into the chassis for that matter). The aux in level knob stays in place, don't remove it!
5.Now you can put enough heat conducting paste one the power transistor's back and on the radiator too. Don't forget to put the little plastic square back after this! Some paste on the chassis where the radiator gets fixed doesn't hurt, either.
6.Screw loosely(must slightly move) the power transistor on the radiator, and put the module back. Screw tightly jacks and the screw of cinchs.
7. Screw loosely the radiator from under, must slightly move. Now that it is in place you can tighten the power transistor on the radiator and ONLY when this is done you can tighten the radiator on the chassis. This way nothing gets hurt or bent. The most transistor-to-radiator surface the best.
8.Put back the head and reconnect the speaker. Now no problems at high volumes anymore. If you notice your amp gets hotter it only means that heat is better evacuated through all the chassis, useful in the sommer...
9.You're done! I'm by no way associated with those bastards at behringer, don't buy their products, especially since they seem to be worst as time is passing by.
My ultraroc is used now with a 4x12 cabinet, and works perfectly since the repair. The fact that I go into a sans amp gt2 then straight in the return socket means that I have a killer tone!
Thanks for reading, good luck!

I don't know what year the amp was made. probably 2003.This amp is brilliant for practicing with, but when you crank up the volume too high, the touch response kicks in and the sound wavers. It's actually meant to do that! I'd say the distortion setting's most suited to blues or light rock, but it can't handle anything much heavier than that. However, if you buy a distortion pedal then it becomes much more versatile and you can play pretty much any music you want. If you're planning to do gigging i would advise against buying it. It's just not loud enough!

you can really feel the quality of the behringer speakers when you play this, but this sometimes backfires, making the distortion sound a bit wimpish, but like I said before with a distortion pedal there's nothing this amp can't do! The effects are very useful, but there's a lot of them so just try to memorize the most important few.
The clean channel is one of the best i've ever heard. It has a really warm but clear sound.

A great amp for people who just like jamming with their friends. My only 2 critisisms are that sometimes you feel that you've wasted a tenner on 99 effects when you only really needed 2 or 3, and that you need a better distortion sound if your gonna play hard rock or metal.
Overall though, the sound is exceptionall, very clear, but not too tinny.I would definetly recommend this amp and I have no regrets at all about purchasing one

This is a follow-up. I have had the same problem as someone below, my amp went mute when playing "loud". Just 2-5 seconds and that circus again and again. Since I know a thing or two in electronics I opened the chassis to inquire... And I found out: the power transistor was very poorly and loosely fixed on the radiator, with alomost no heat-conducting paste! A shame, 'cos otherwise the thing is neatly made, no flaws there.
So buy a tube of heat-conducting paste and a philips screwdriver, take note that a tiny plastic sheet takes place between the power transistor and the radiator and, voila, you have fixed your amp!
Feel free to mail me, I'm no behringer-related(in fact I just hate those bastards) and if I have much demands I'll write a precise fix-it yourself procedure on H-C. Bye, folks!

The clean channel is decent and the distortion is almost non-existant, so I'm using a boss metal zone. But whenever i try to use a lot of distortion while trying to play shadows fall or metallica or something like that, I get a lot of buzz. None of the effects except the delay even seem to be useful. The chorus sux so much my ears bleed.

I've done a review about this before. Here is what comes out in between: it still works perfectly well! I guess i'm the lucky one... This amp is very quiet(I let it on all day long quite often), and the speaker I put in(a fullrange visaton) really shines. I found the multiFX to be more than useful along with the provided footswitch, some presets give you cab sim and it does improves the crunch a lot. Still, when using this you have no more 'verb... I'm using a danoverb in the loop and it is fine for electric guitar.
All in all i am pleased with it, and hope it will last;-)

I reviewed this product earlier. At that point, apart from replacing the speaker with a Celestion Vintage 10, I was quite happy with it. I later discovered that if I turned the volume up to about three quarters and played chords, after a while the volume would cut!
I had also reccommended this amp to several of my students (I teach rock guitar) and they all have had problems. This is embarrassing. I would now encourage people to look elsewhere, because Behringer have some serious design and quality issues to resole. BEST AVOIDED!

For such a small amp, both channels sound pretty good as long as the amp is working (see below). Distortion is good, but not extreme. I use the clean channel with chorus, this sounds very good, and the distortion channel with some amp model effect to get a near-Metallica sound. But its a small amp, the sound is very limited.

It simply doesn't work. After some time of playing, it sounded like someone ripped the speaker. When turning up to higher volumes, the sound was shreddered into pieces. Eventually, it went totally silent. After it came back from Behringer service, the same problem develloped again within days. Same after the second repair. I brought it back to the dealer.

30 watt amp, 10" jensen speaker...This amp is absolutely loaded with features, probably some 40ish features... there are 99 presets, but many of them are like different types of an effect... slow delay, medium delay, fast delay, etc. Its plenty versatile, and it feels loud for a 30 watt amp. has two channels, has channel switching on footswitch along with effect button. One gripe is between going from clean to distortion there is a slight delay, like a click for it to hit, its not instant. I dont use a bunch of the features, but some features i really like such as cabinet stack simulations. I am mainly a bedroom player with this thing.

I use this with a PRS Tremonti and with any practice amp, it sounds kinda weak. Im really into Mesa Dual Rectifiers, but for a practice amp, I got this. The distortion sounds the same pretty much with any guitar youll put into it, and the clean is alright, nothing special, but not bad. The clean channel will distort at higher volumes, and the distortion gets crappy sounding at higher volumes. The distortion is nice though, if you adjust it right.

Ive been playing 3 years, and heres my rig: PRS Tremonti - Shure Diversity Wireless Guitar System - Mark Tremonti Power Wah - Behringer Ultraroc GX110. If it were lost or stolen, I might try a different practice amp. One thing I learned, is that amps with built in effects are not all they seem to be. Do not be swayed by built in effects when buying amps, look more for better distortion sounds. Chances are you wont use majority of your effects, except for line 6 stuff, they have good built in effects, but otherwise, try not to be swayed by amps having built in effects. I love its distortion sounds when its dialed in right, but I hate how it sounds at higher volumes. I compared it with the Crate 15 watt model, and I choose this one because of the effects. Now im not sure which I would have rather gotten. For a practice amp, consider this thing or some cheap crate amps, but for bedroom playing, its not a bad deal. You absolutely can not depend on this amp. The first day I got it, it made popping and crackling noises after being on ten minutes. I took it back and got a new one. This one worked fine for 8 months, although once it got broken in the sound quality took a dive. I listened to some recordings from 8 months ago and the clean is actually loud enough to compete, now it just breaks up at 4. Then about a week ago, in the middle of a song it just cut out. we stoped playing and w/o the rest of the band I could hear a very quiet sound. it was turned up to about 6. I tuned it to ten, and it was as loud as the former 1 with huge distortion and feedback. THE POWER AMP BLEW! It is now useless, When it comes back from warenty I will just sell it. I am going to buy a real tube amp next time.

I have to give it credit for working for 8 months, but the recent total break down has really put me off of any Behringer products. It did get through a lot of recordings so it wasn't a total waste. It sounded ok and that is all that can be said for it, you get what you pay for.

30 Real Watt, 99 Digital MultiFX, Overdrive and Clean selection, small, with a lot of connectors behind, 3 band equalizer, footswitchable(overdrive & effects). A lot of features for 160 Euros huh?

Overdrive: This amp can't hold its own power. I heard some rumors that it's not for heavy metal. Well I don't understand why some people say that. With the cabinet simulation (effects 97 - 99) you can produce very nice sound and simulate fender, marshall etc. A very important thing is to know how to set up the equalizer to hear the sound that you want to hear. I use an Ibanez rg 270 and the thin strings deliver a flat and nice distortion. I use some other speakers and the amp rockz. It is recommended not to use the jensen speaker.
Clean: This is the most strange thing on this amp. It delivers a flawless and very clean guitar sound, that is similar to a lot of metal bands.
Record: Almost no hiss with Humb. The level of the hiss that it produces can easily removed with a digital or analog noise reduction system.

This is one reason that the amp has 160 euros. It's a hard structure with thick plastic and nice front panel. ALTHOUGH. I heard many people saying that the amp crashed after a few hours playing. Yeah this happens many times, also happened to me. After 3 or 4 hours the sound started crashing, and voluming down. Then the amp died for 20 mins. I had to power on again and again to see when it was fixed. I think this is due to high temperature.

This amp has everything but does nothing perfect. You need to spend more money to specify a use for this amp. It's not for intermidiate players though. It's the BEST for starters so they can understand what music style they like most to play. You will love it :)

Well... Bad speaker, dull clean sound, bizarre equalizer, dark drive sound not uninteresting but quite boring, loud plop(or crash) when switching off the unit witout turning off master volume first, big silence when switching channels, no way to know which effect you have(and there are 99possibilities)without looking in the manual... It seems you get what you paid for, uh?
But:very good reverbs, compressor and gate from the fx section, and plenty of connectors behind! Powerful amp(30watts are really there). So I changed the speaker and I use the amp as a power-amp-with-effects for my tech21 gt-2, and even my electroacoustic jazzbox. The speaker I put in is a fullrange one, since I have speaker simulator in the gt2. And guess what? I am very happy with this amp, sounds great now!
I hope it will last, other reports here terrify me.
So don't buy it if you have no gear and no cash to change the speaker. Actually I do believe that a beginner won't learn to play well with this amp, for it flattens every picking nuance and sounds so dull you won't believe how much until you play a fender bullet. Go for this one,in fact...

Tons of features. Two channel footswitchable amp with 24 bit effects processor with 99 patches that is footswitchable. It has an effects loop, Aux in, frequency compensated RCA out, headphone out, external speaker cab out, and a 10" Jensen speaker. A crapload of features.

This amp has a nice compressed tuby kinda feeling - I am a big fender guy - have two fender tube combos and I can tell they were definately trying to approximate a fender style clean channel. The clean channel goes until just the virge of breakup. The dirty channel is less good then the clean in my opinion but better then many other solid states I have tried. It is more of a marshallish type of distortion channel. So you can get the ACDC and Van Halen types of gain. No heavy metal though. You have to turn down the volume on the guitar to get a very slightly distorted sound - I mean just the barely there distortion.

I have been playing 10+ years and it is the best solid state combo I have owned especially for the very very low price. Plus it has better reverb (digital) then my fender super 60 tube combo - Accutronics (spring). It is a great amp for clean, blues, jazz. Not for heavy metal. For good heavier ACDC Halen type rock it does a respectable job for being solid-state. Especially for first time buyers this amp would be the ultimate. For a vet like me. It is another cool toy that wont bleed my ears like the trusty tube amp. Bear in mind that I rate this amp as a solid-state amp and not as anything else. And for that I think overall it should get a 9

Bought the amp new, 6 months ago. I wanted a loud, cheap practice amp, that was portable and had a headphone socket. I liked the idea of special effects built in. I play/teach rock guitar and find it loud enough for group practice with a drummer. I consider this to be a good, cheap practice amp.

I play a Yamaha SG (humbuckers) and a Fender Strat. The sound started to break up at quite low volume levels, so I replaced the cheap Jensen speaker with a Celestion Vintage 10" (about #40). It now sounds much cleaner and the volume can now be turned up full, which is loud, with negligable breakup. This is now a very usable amp.

No problems so far. The case is built like a tank, but the knobs and jack socket are plastic. The knobs stick out and the case has been recedded at this point. It looks good, but I bet that I end up breaking one off. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been playing for 30 years on and off. I used to use a Marshall 100 watt stack. I now use 100 watt H+H Valvestate Musician for stage work and a Behringer 110 and a B.C. Rich BC20 practice amps.
Initially I was dissappointed with the built-in effects, but after experimenting with them over the last 6 months or so, I have found some useful settings. I tend to use channels 7, set at 20 and channel 98 set at 43 the most, for rock work. You need to experiment with the channels and settings, as most settings are set at or near the minimum amount of effect.
I may get a MIDI switch to control the Behringer's effects and channels in the future.

Features ohoy! My 2002/2003 amp has 99 effects settings with memory. Adjust the amount of effect, press and hold the effect-button on the amp, and it's stored. You can select if the effects should depend on channel setting or not. A lot of effects and settings to suit any guitar and style. All kinds of connections, even midi! I have tried it, but you will be able to get your sequencer to switch effects in the middle of a song. Metal footswitch included.

I use an 1980 Aria Les Paul copy with high-output humbuckers and a Yamaha APX 10 nylon string guitar. The amp works well with both guitars. There is some backgound hiss/noise, specially with the acoustic guitar. The amp settings are versatile, everyone should be able to find decent sounds that suit their way of playing. Huge range to the bass/mid/treble knobs. If you set them all to zero, the amp makes no sound at all. Distortion is mediocre solid state.

Although I stand by my assessment of the GX110's features and versatility, I regret to inform you that the same fault has reared it's head with the replacement amp, just two days after I posted the last review!! This time, though, the rumbling sound accompanying each note appears after playing for about 10 minutes. It also went la la the other day; when I turned it on, everything seemed to work, but no sound would come out. Turned it off, then on, and it started making guitar noises again, like nothing ever happened. I think I tempted fate by posting a review, emailing the shop to thank them for their service, and putting the packing in the loft...

I feel like a real git for bothering the dealer again, especially considering how helpful he was last time, and how it had to be shipped nearly 300 miles. Maybe I'll buy another amp from the range they stock, which covers all the major manufacturers. Might soften the blow. As for Behringer themselves, they need to have a serious word to their R&D or quality control boys and girls.

Bought in 2003. I think the amp was made as a more traditional-looking practice combo addition to the range which includes the bigger Blue Devil. The GX110 has shed-loads of features, read the other reviews. Footswitch is a great bonus. I only bought it as a practice amp, so my judgement is based on such expectations. I play anything from metal to bluegrass, so having a load of effects is great, even if some aren't all that inspiring. At the price it's incredible value. And contrary to one of the earlier reviews, you can nominate a separate effect for each channel, and switch the effect on or off using the footswitch, effectively giving you four different sound options without having to bend down to tweak the settings.

The clean sounds are great, and it suits my Yamaha APX6 acoustic well, too. Very little hum, especially through humbuckers. The cabinet simulation effects have a fair bit of extra hiss, though I think this is deliberate for authentic stack sounds. Even with the APX there's very little feedback, especially if you put a rolled up scarf in the soundhole! Distortion sounds are quite tight and smooth, but high-gain metal riffs or wailing sustain aren't catered for all that well. I may invest in a decent pedal at some point, like a Boss OD2, or possibly an Ibanez TS9, but I only use the amp for home practice, so it's not as if it's gonna kill me to wait until I can spare the cash. High volumes do produce a bit of breakup on clean, but I don't habitually max out my amp in my room. The effects are nice, although I think it might have been better to have fewer effects with more adjustability on each effect. I think it caters for most tastes, but any gigging musician wouldn't buy an amp like this for stage performance, and with that in mind, the effects are high-quality. There's an effects loop, anyway, so you can blend and modify the sounds using external units.

Tough call, this. I'm on my second one. The first one developed a sickly rumbling noise, which wasn't a blown speaker, as it was the same through headphones. The current one is going great guns at the moment, so fingers crossed. Build quality is pretty good, although it's a bit of a shame the knob spindles are plastic: care needed, although it's not the kind of amp which is going to spend its life on the road. It could probably do the occasional gig, through a PA, mind, but I wouldn't mosh near it in case I put a boot through it. Solo acoustic set, perhaps. There is a pretty unhealthy pop as you switch it off with the volume up, but which amp doesn't have this? Any sensible person turns the master volume down before switching any amp off, so you don't deafen yourself with feedback next time you switch it on with yout guitar in front of the speaker.

I haven't dealt with Behringer. I registered the amp online, but as I'm in the UK, my nearest office is in Germany! I'm not bothered about this, though: it's not as if much of the stuff you can buy in the UK is home grown these days (...yeah, ok, Marshall, Laney etc...I had to be different!). And besides, I received great service from www.gak.co.uk, who I bought the GX110 from. Very prompt delivery, and no hassle at all when the amp needed replacing. Like anything made overseas, just buy it from a helpful and trustworthy dealer.

Been playing for about six years. The Behringer is my third amp. Ive owned a Laney HCM25 which was brutally loud, but made funny noises and broke down, and a Fender Auto GT, which sounded nice and was well made, but had the cheapest pots on earth and very poor adjustability. The GX110 beats both on versatility, even if it couldn't cut through a live mix. It's good to be able to turn the volume and EQ knobs and see some effect, too. With most amps, useable home practice volume exists somewhere from 0-2 on the dial. With the Behringer, you haven't got to just nervously nudge the pots. The EQ is very adjustable. The footswitch feels pretty bulletproof, and yes, I know the switching has a slight delay, but would you seriously consider gigging with a cheap 30W practice amp? I find it quite amusing that you can use a MIDI pedalboard with it! Never gonna bother. I'm planning to do some recording with the GX110, what with the effects and simulated line-out. Should be great for making demos. I'd definitely buy it again while living with my parents. If I had my own house, I'd get something a bit bigger and louder, though.

This amplifier, while it may suit some, doesn't suit me. It's acceptable at low volumes, but this thing can't handle its own volume! Yeah, yeah...I know if you dime an amp there will be a little breakup. But not this much! The clean channel's headroom is terrible. I've found that gigging with this amp is not smart. And no, I'm not trying to use it by itself. I'm just angling it right at my head on top of a big rack, and unable to hear myself over the stage volume.
Other than my problems, it's an okay practice amp.

Knob stems are cheap plastic - broke a couple off the first week I had it. Took a certified Behringer dealer in Sioux Falls a month and a half to fix two knobs at a cost of $45, and they didn't even use real behringer parts - Radioshack cheapos that don't match!

Play an epiphone SG goth and a cheapo strat copy, the clean channel is really nice with a touch of reverb. Loved the overdrive at first but with time it started to sound a little artificial somehow. The delay is dissapointing as it seems to have a notch or click as the signal is mixed with the echo. Use a Boss BD-2 stomp box for beauty and a danelectro fab tone for the beast. Give it an 8 for the clean channel, reverb, chorus and flanger.
