This amp offered 30 watts, 99 digital effects and 2 channels at a 10 to 15 watt plain vanilla practice amp price. For the money, it was a great buy. Though it offers 99 effects - you can only save and trigger two while playing. I also notice a slight but annoying delay when switching between channels or effects. (i.e. Dead Air) Any other sounds must be dialed in by number manually with a pot using the LED display as a guide. (Kind of like setting an alarm clock holding the button down...watching the clock display advance or retreat, minute by minute). I had more than 2 favorite effects I liked to use, but I always had to stop playing to reset to the ones I need whenever the song changes moods. (Bought a multi-effects pedal/stomp box to remedy this. Don't use the amp's effects much anymore.

Sound Quality : 8
This amp provides many different sounds, vintage and classic sounds, current effects and sounds. The sound is pretty clean for the price paid. Can handle a small room or garage gig, but wouldn't expect more from it. It's my alternative to a practice amp and I am pleased when comparing the sound to those similarly priced amps.

Reliability : 3
Can I depend on it? Unfortunately no and this disappoints me greatly. (I remember having an old "SEARS" electric guitar amp as a kid that never had this problem and never failed.) The power switch and/or power supply on this Behringer GX110 is crap and faulty and has been for a long time. Sometimes it does not turn on when you flip the rocker switch and you have to jiggle it around. It hasn't been used that much either! (Bad connectors.) Then when you are playing - you never have confidence or know when the switch may fail and you lose power again. Sometimes it turns on or turns off with a loud popping noise - other times it works perfectly. Poor quality component is to blame and may likely be a recurring problem based on other reviews I've read here. This amp is out of warranty - so I will likely replace the power switch with a decent quality rocker switch. Until I repair it myself, I wouldn't trust it anywhere outside of my home without a backup. (Don't try this at home kids. I am a trained electronics technician.) lol

Customer Support : No Opinion
I was told that it was 14 months old and out of warranty. Between the expense of troubleshooting, repair costs and shipping I would do better to replace it with an entirely new amp under warranty.

What a shame for having to replace a crappy $1.00 rocker switch with a decent $3.99 part.

Overall Rating : 4
If it wasn't for the crappy power switch and channel/effects switching problems this amp would have received a 9 easily. Bad components used for the switches have dragged it down from a "kick-ass" little amp, to a "wish I could use it without problems" type of amp. Many times I want to jam on my guitar and won't even plug it in because I don't feel like messing with it to get it to work or worrying that I might fry the electronics because of the faulty components. So I plug the headphones and guitar into my effects box when I practice instead of my cool amp which I bought for practicing with!!! It's sad I know. I hope some of the folks at Behringer are reading this.

with a little fooling around you can get great tones out of this amp, specially bluesy tones and rock..forget metal..the clean distorts at high volumes but i like it it's got that crunchy sound..i always have the bass on 8 mid 7 and treble on 7..and distortion at about 5 to 6.i use a 79 fender strat.neck pu middle pu on the bridge pu it's sound thin and cold..it's suits my style the the tone of my guitar just comes out..it's funny when i see some people say it's not loud enough..ahh hello what about your tone..mic the sucker!!i bet if someone famous endorsed this amp the price would go up..kinda like srv with the tube screamer..these pedal nobody would buy then just because srv used it..the price goes up..what ever..great amp...

Two guitar channels, RCA inouts w/ separate volume pot in rear, 10" Jensen, 30 watts, dual footswitch included, digital fx...

Sound Quality : 8
Clean sound is pretty clean until cranked. Gain... with gain full-on, it's sort of the Soldano-type buzzy distortion... With gain channel's volume up completely and gain used to comtrol volume -- in essence, reverse the functions -- it gets a nice compressed lead tone great for jazz, R&B, and rock in the David Gilmour fashion.

How does it suit my style? I use two of them in my lesson studio. Also, I usually bring one along if I go on the road -- very convenient in a hotel room... I play keys through the RCA inputs as well and they sound nice and clean.

For what it is, it's a great amp. Does it compare to a good tube amp? I've heard tube amps do a lot worse, but compared to a GOOD tube amp, this doesn't compare, nor should it.

Reliability : 9
I've heard all kinds of things about behringer, but it has all been here at HC. As for people that I know who use this stuff, I've never known someone who's had a problem... And none so far for me (knock on wood). Really though, it's a cheap amp... if it breaks and is not under warrantee, throw it away and buy another!

Customer Support : No Opinion
One year warrantee I believe, but I don't have the paper work in front of me, so I'm really just guessing from vague memory... Nice thick manual that came with it -- mine is still shrink wrapped... very simple amp to use, no need for a 50 page manual?

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, for $70, one can not complain! A nice, simple, two channel practice amp (not for gigging) with some cool features and a decent sound. I've heard a lot worse... Definitely a better buy than the Crate and Fender amps in this range.

Would I buy it again? Well, I bought one to see if it was any good, then bought another. I use them in my studio when teaching -- so I don't burn up my tubes in my real amps.

How long have I been playing? -- my whole life. I've been teaching music for over 16 years. I did look at a few other little amps -- the Rolands, and some others that I can't think of -- the behringer was less than half the cost of everything else, yet sounds just as good.

I bought this amp from Musician's Friend in May of 2005 for $69.00 new. It definatly fits all genres of music that I play. The 2 channels provide individual effect scenarios. I am very impressed with all of the imputs and outputs the this amp has. I plug it into my Roland Jazz Chorus 120 and get all the volume that I require out of the two. This little amp is pretty loud by itself and is very light and portable, unlike the Roland.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this amp with my Gibson ES-335 and my Epiphone Emporer II (11-52 flat wound strings). The clean sound is pretty good and it does crunch a little at full volume, which is fine. The reverb is supurb. I like the distortion, its very manageable.

Reliability : 10
So far, so good. This amp is built very solid and it has not malfunctioned on me yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not needed to use customer support.

Overall Rating : 9
This is simply the best small amp I have owned or played for under $200.00.

This posting is a follow-up, as I did the repairs about drop-outs.
No problems now, but I would make some points clear:
It is a practice amp, you won't get anything decent past4-5 at the master volume, and you should think of it as a 15 watts amp. My marshall mg15cdr sounds at least as loud, and its tone stays fine at high levels which is absolutely not the case on the ultraroc.

Sound Quality : 10
The trick is to use it as a preamp (plug a phone jack in the socket to mute the speaker, a go with a cinch-jack cable into a bigger amp's return socket).
Then you'll find it very satisfying, clean and overdriven. I use a clean booster to push the drive channel into solo leads and it does good.
The effects are great, and not only the current ones. Just take the time to try. By the way you can store your setting by press-and-hold the effects button for more than 3seconds.
The remote is great(you can off the fx, when using an octaver for example) and the lag is inexistent if you have the same effect on the two channels (which I often do: spring reverb, and basta)
The preamp is well done, only the power amp/speker are weak.

Reliability : 10
Once repaired myself, I just followed the precise instructions below, no problems sofar, and I use it everyday.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Take it for what it is, use it as a preamp if you want to play loud and I can't see you unhappy. With a booster it makes a 3-channel amplifier/preamplifier and it works fine. Of course boosters are many and you'll have to choose the right one... I play lead solos a la santana with lots of guts and sustain and the best booster I found is a boss turbo distortion ds2(level max, drive min, tone flat, turbo off), go figure...
It helps make music, because it is not too typed and of the effects. Jazz, funk, basic rock, blues, and with the speaker simulations(effect 98) you even gets mean driven tones.
For the price paid it is a ten.

I bought my GX110 second-hand just yesterday. For the price it is probably one of the best amps on offer. The other reviews have covered the features, so I want repeat them all here. I am impressed with the number of features and especially the prospect of creating my own effects. The trouble is I've skimmed the manual & can't see anything on how to edit the effects. Does anyone know any websites that can help here? There are plenty of output options, with a lineout, headphones and speaker outputs.

Sound Quality : 7
I play jazz with a Maton George Golla (Australian made Jazz guitar with twin humbuckers), and the sound is decent for the price & portability. I haven't tried my electric (Yamaha Pacifica with Strat pickups) through it yet but I reckon it will be more suited to that guitar. Some of the built-in effects sound pretty muddy but there are a few useful ones too. Once I work out how to tweak the effects I'm sure I will get a nice sound for jazz, and the amp seems well-suited to blues also. The sound doesn't compare to my 1980's Roland Jazz Chorus which weighs a ton but is the sweetest thing you'll ever hear.

There is a small amount of background hiss, but you don't notice it while you're playing.

While it is nothing spectacular, I was impressed with the even sound of the amp. Most cheap amps don't seem to handle the highs on my guitar too well, and the top string often sounds twangy or doesn't sound out properly. On this amp all the strings ring out clearly and evenly all the way up the neck. For me this indicates a level of quality that you don't find in most amps at this price.

I bought this amp for rehearsals & small cafe gigs, and I think it will suit this purpose just fine without knocking any socks off.

Reliability : No Opinion
Since I've only had the amp for 24 hours I can't comment on reliability. The problems other folks have had are a bit of a worry - but I'll wait & see what happens. I agree that the speaker probably can't handle the amp at full volume, but I won't need it that loud anyway so hopefully won't have any probs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used customer support, and as I bought it second hand I'm probably not eligible anyway.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for 10 years, (professionally for 4 years) and have tried out many cheap amps, but most of them are just toys really. While the sound of the GX110 is merely adequate (for my needs), it is obviously a quality amp and is a cut above most amps of this price.

If it was lost or stolen I wouldn't rush out to buy the same amp again but would probably shop around a bit more - I bought this one because it was cheap and I knew it wouldn't last long at the 2nd hand shop.

This amp would probably benefit from a bigger speaker, as it does sound like it's pushing a bit too much power thru the little 10 inch speaker. It would probabaly sound great if I connect the lineout to my PA which is 400 watts with big 15 inch speakers.

PS - please let me know if you can help with editing the effects!

Hi folks! I have had a lot of demands, here is how to solve this amp's problem.
The power amp(power transistor) is poorly fixed on its radiator with almost no heat-conducting paste. Therefore it overheats and shuts off every now and then, which proves its protection circuitry works fine... So I demounted it and put enough paste, and tightened its mounting screws solidly:no more problems.
If you are unexperienced but don't have 2left hands, here is the procedure: Before all, don't touch electronics parts since your own static may damage some of them(especially in the fx section).
1. Disconnect the speaker and free its cable from the staples.
2.Unscrew the 6 mounting screws and take the head apart, unplug the mains of course!
3.See the black aluminium radiator on the bottom? Disconnect the socket just above it(big brown-black-brown wires) and unscrew the power transistor from the radiator. DON'T LOOSE THE LITTLE SQUARE PLASTIC SHEET that isolates electrically the amp from the radiator, or you'll have a big short-circuit later.
4.From under, demount the radiator(4screws). From behind, unscrew all the jacks and the cinch(1screw) and pull the module slightly out(into the chassis for that matter). The aux in level knob stays in place, don't remove it!
5.Now you can put enough heat conducting paste one the power transistor's back and on the radiator too. Don't forget to put the little plastic square back after this! Some paste on the chassis where the radiator gets fixed doesn't hurt, either.
6.Screw loosely(must slightly move) the power transistor on the radiator, and put the module back. Screw tightly jacks and the screw of cinchs.
7. Screw loosely the radiator from under, must slightly move. Now that it is in place you can tighten the power transistor on the radiator and ONLY when this is done you can tighten the radiator on the chassis. This way nothing gets hurt or bent. The most transistor-to-radiator surface the best.
8.Put back the head and reconnect the speaker. Now no problems at high volumes anymore. If you notice your amp gets hotter it only means that heat is better evacuated through all the chassis, useful in the sommer...
9.You're done! I'm by no way associated with those bastards at behringer, don't buy their products, especially since they seem to be worst as time is passing by.
My ultraroc is used now with a 4x12 cabinet, and works perfectly since the repair. The fact that I go into a sans amp gt2 then straight in the return socket means that I have a killer tone!
Thanks for reading, good luck!

I don't know what year the amp was made. probably 2003.This amp is brilliant for practicing with, but when you crank up the volume too high, the touch response kicks in and the sound wavers. It's actually meant to do that! I'd say the distortion setting's most suited to blues or light rock, but it can't handle anything much heavier than that. However, if you buy a distortion pedal then it becomes much more versatile and you can play pretty much any music you want. If you're planning to do gigging i would advise against buying it. It's just not loud enough!

Sound Quality : 9
you can really feel the quality of the behringer speakers when you play this, but this sometimes backfires, making the distortion sound a bit wimpish, but like I said before with a distortion pedal there's nothing this amp can't do! The effects are very useful, but there's a lot of them so just try to memorize the most important few.
The clean channel is one of the best i've ever heard. It has a really warm but clear sound.

A great amp for people who just like jamming with their friends. My only 2 critisisms are that sometimes you feel that you've wasted a tenner on 99 effects when you only really needed 2 or 3, and that you need a better distortion sound if your gonna play hard rock or metal.
Overall though, the sound is exceptionall, very clear, but not too tinny.I would definetly recommend this amp and I have no regrets at all about purchasing one

This is a follow-up. I have had the same problem as someone below, my amp went mute when playing "loud". Just 2-5 seconds and that circus again and again. Since I know a thing or two in electronics I opened the chassis to inquire... And I found out: the power transistor was very poorly and loosely fixed on the radiator, with alomost no heat-conducting paste! A shame, 'cos otherwise the thing is neatly made, no flaws there.
So buy a tube of heat-conducting paste and a philips screwdriver, take note that a tiny plastic sheet takes place between the power transistor and the radiator and, voila, you have fixed your amp!
Feel free to mail me, I'm no behringer-related(in fact I just hate those bastards) and if I have much demands I'll write a precise fix-it yourself procedure on H-C. Bye, folks!

The clean channel is decent and the distortion is almost non-existant, so I'm using a boss metal zone. But whenever i try to use a lot of distortion while trying to play shadows fall or metallica or something like that, I get a lot of buzz. None of the effects except the delay even seem to be useful. The chorus sux so much my ears bleed.

And by the way, don't even bother trying to make this thing go louder than six or seven. One time I did that and the stupid thing started shorting out on me.

I've had it for awhile and it seems to work pretty well at low volumes, but like I said, don't try and make it go too loud.

If I could go back in time and buy something like a peavey or a cheap marshall, I definately would. If it were lost or stolen I would just say fuck it and buy a more expensive randall, line 6, or crate.

I've done a review about this before. Here is what comes out in between: it still works perfectly well! I guess i'm the lucky one... This amp is very quiet(I let it on all day long quite often), and the speaker I put in(a fullrange visaton) really shines. I found the multiFX to be more than useful along with the provided footswitch, some presets give you cab sim and it does improves the crunch a lot. Still, when using this you have no more 'verb... I'm using a danoverb in the loop and it is fine for electric guitar.
All in all i am pleased with it, and hope it will last;-)

I reviewed this product earlier. At that point, apart from replacing the speaker with a Celestion Vintage 10, I was quite happy with it. I later discovered that if I turned the volume up to about three quarters and played chords, after a while the volume would cut!

I had also reccommended this amp to several of my students (I teach rock guitar) and they all have had problems. This is embarrassing. I would now encourage people to look elsewhere, because Behringer have some serious design and quality issues to resole. BEST AVOIDED!

2 channels, 99 effect presets including chorus, reverb, delay, some "amp models" and "speaker cabinet models". Only one effect at the time, however. Line outs, effect loop, headphone out. Features are very good, but the effects are rigid (not much to tweak).

Sound Quality : 6
For such a small amp, both channels sound pretty good as long as the amp is working (see below). Distortion is good, but not extreme. I use the clean channel with chorus, this sounds very good, and the distortion channel with some amp model effect to get a near-Metallica sound. But its a small amp, the sound is very limited.

Reliability : 1
It simply doesn't work. After some time of playing, it sounded like someone ripped the speaker. When turning up to higher volumes, the sound was shreddered into pieces. Eventually, it went totally silent. After it came back from Behringer service, the same problem develloped again within days. Same after the second repair. I brought it back to the dealer.

Customer Support : 1
Behringer repaired it, but it didn't help much.

I never buy Behringer again because my trust in their quality is gone. They seem to produce cheap amps (at least this one), and they couldn't even repair it.

30 watt amp, 10" jensen speaker...This amp is absolutely loaded with features, probably some 40ish features... there are 99 presets, but many of them are like different types of an effect... slow delay, medium delay, fast delay, etc. Its plenty versatile, and it feels loud for a 30 watt amp. has two channels, has channel switching on footswitch along with effect button. One gripe is between going from clean to distortion there is a slight delay, like a click for it to hit, its not instant. I dont use a bunch of the features, but some features i really like such as cabinet stack simulations. I am mainly a bedroom player with this thing.

Sound Quality : 7
I use this with a PRS Tremonti and with any practice amp, it sounds kinda weak. Im really into Mesa Dual Rectifiers, but for a practice amp, I got this. The distortion sounds the same pretty much with any guitar youll put into it, and the clean is alright, nothing special, but not bad. The clean channel will distort at higher volumes, and the distortion gets crappy sounding at higher volumes. The distortion is nice though, if you adjust it right.

Reliability : 10

Ive been playing 3 years, and heres my rig: PRS Tremonti - Shure Diversity Wireless Guitar System - Mark Tremonti Power Wah - Behringer Ultraroc GX110. If it were lost or stolen, I might try a different practice amp. One thing I learned, is that amps with built in effects are not all they seem to be. Do not be swayed by built in effects when buying amps, look more for better distortion sounds. Chances are you wont use majority of your effects, except for line 6 stuff, they have good built in effects, but otherwise, try not to be swayed by amps having built in effects. I love its distortion sounds when its dialed in right, but I hate how it sounds at higher volumes. I compared it with the Crate 15 watt model, and I choose this one because of the effects. Now im not sure which I would have rather gotten. For a practice amp, consider this thing or some cheap crate amps, but for bedroom playing, its not a bad deal. Feel free to email me with any questions.

good features. effects are good. lots of them. I lost the manual and it is difficult to remember where all the good effects are. The other reviews list the features pretty acurately.

Sound Quality : 6
I play a yamaha with humbuckers and a deluxe strat plus with lace sensors. it is really noisy, probably has to do with the tube emulation. The distortion isn't to harsh, which is good, for solid state it isn't bad. The effects processor sounds very nice, but the cab simulations aren't that great.

Reliability : 3
You absolutely can not depend on this amp. The first day I got it, it made popping and crackling noises after being on ten minutes. I took it back and got a new one. This one worked fine for 8 months, although once it got broken in the sound quality took a dive. I listened to some recordings from 8 months ago and the clean is actually loud enough to compete, now it just breaks up at 4. Then about a week ago, in the middle of a song it just cut out. we stoped playing and w/o the rest of the band I could hear a very quiet sound. it was turned up to about 6. I tuned it to ten, and it was as loud as the former 1 with huge distortion and feedback. THE POWER AMP BLEW! It is now useless, When it comes back from warenty I will just sell it. I am going to buy a real tube amp next time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with the company. It is in for warranty right now. I don't expect it to be back any time soon, I am ampless and it is driving me crazy!

Overall Rating : 5
I have to give it credit for working for 8 months, but the recent total break down has really put me off of any Behringer products. It did get through a lot of recordings so it wasn't a total waste. It sounded ok and that is all that can be said for it, you get what you pay for.

Sound Quality : 8
Overdrive: This amp can't hold its own power. I heard some rumors that it's not for heavy metal. Well I don't understand why some people say that. With the cabinet simulation (effects 97 - 99) you can produce very nice sound and simulate fender, marshall etc. A very important thing is to know how to set up the equalizer to hear the sound that you want to hear. I use an Ibanez rg 270 and the thin strings deliver a flat and nice distortion. I use some other speakers and the amp rockz. It is recommended not to use the jensen speaker.
Clean: This is the most strange thing on this amp. It delivers a flawless and very clean guitar sound, that is similar to a lot of metal bands.
Record: Almost no hiss with Humb. The level of the hiss that it produces can easily removed with a digital or analog noise reduction system.

Reliability : 6
This is one reason that the amp has 160 euros. It's a hard structure with thick plastic and nice front panel. ALTHOUGH. I heard many people saying that the amp crashed after a few hours playing. Yeah this happens many times, also happened to me. After 3 or 4 hours the sound started crashing, and voluming down. Then the amp died for 20 mins. I had to power on again and again to see when it was fixed. I think this is due to high temperature.

Customer Support : 9
I deal with behringer through my local dealer. The local dealer has good service though, they will bring me a new gx110 cause the current one is making me problems (read above)

Overall Rating : 8
This amp has everything but does nothing perfect. You need to spend more money to specify a use for this amp. It's not for intermidiate players though. It's the BEST for starters so they can understand what music style they like most to play. You will love it :)

Well... Bad speaker, dull clean sound, bizarre equalizer, dark drive sound not uninteresting but quite boring, loud plop(or crash) when switching off the unit witout turning off master volume first, big silence when switching channels, no way to know which effect you have(and there are 99possibilities)without looking in the manual... It seems you get what you paid for, uh?
But:very good reverbs, compressor and gate from the fx section, and plenty of connectors behind! Powerful amp(30watts are really there). So I changed the speaker and I use the amp as a power-amp-with-effects for my tech21 gt-2, and even my electroacoustic jazzbox. The speaker I put in is a fullrange one, since I have speaker simulator in the gt2. And guess what? I am very happy with this amp, sounds great now!
I hope it will last, other reports here terrify me.
So don't buy it if you have no gear and no cash to change the speaker. Actually I do believe that a beginner won't learn to play well with this amp, for it flattens every picking nuance and sounds so dull you won't believe how much until you play a fender bullet. Go for this one,in fact...

Tons of features. Two channel footswitchable amp with 24 bit effects processor with 99 patches that is footswitchable. It has an effects loop, Aux in, frequency compensated RCA out, headphone out, external speaker cab out, and a 10" Jensen speaker. A crapload of features.

Sound Quality : 8
This amp has a nice compressed tuby kinda feeling - I am a big fender guy - have two fender tube combos and I can tell they were definately trying to approximate a fender style clean channel. The clean channel goes until just the virge of breakup. The dirty channel is less good then the clean in my opinion but better then many other solid states I have tried. It is more of a marshallish type of distortion channel. So you can get the ACDC and Van Halen types of gain. No heavy metal though. You have to turn down the volume on the guitar to get a very slightly distorted sound - I mean just the barely there distortion.

Reliability : 8
Has not broke yet. Seems to be well made. I cant fault it. Kinda thin on the wood side but hey it works and unless I drop it off the second story here at my apartment complex it will continue to work.

do not know? Good warranty though.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing 10+ years and it is the best solid state combo I have owned especially for the very very low price. Plus it has better reverb (digital) then my fender super 60 tube combo - Accutronics (spring). It is a great amp for clean, blues, jazz. Not for heavy metal. For good heavier ACDC Halen type rock it does a respectable job for being solid-state. Especially for first time buyers this amp would be the ultimate. For a vet like me. It is another cool toy that wont bleed my ears like the trusty tube amp. Bear in mind that I rate this amp as a solid-state amp and not as anything else. And for that I think overall it should get a 9

Bought the amp new, 6 months ago. I wanted a loud, cheap practice amp, that was portable and had a headphone socket. I liked the idea of special effects built in. I play/teach rock guitar and find it loud enough for group practice with a drummer. I consider this to be a good, cheap practice amp.

Sound Quality : 6
I play a Yamaha SG (humbuckers) and a Fender Strat. The sound started to break up at quite low volume levels, so I replaced the cheap Jensen speaker with a Celestion Vintage 10" (about #40). It now sounds much cleaner and the volume can now be turned up full, which is loud, with negligable breakup. This is now a very usable amp.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems so far. The case is built like a tank, but the knobs and jack socket are plastic. The knobs stick out and the case has been recedded at this point. It looks good, but I bet that I end up breaking one off. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Good web site. Have not contacted them.

I have been playing for 30 years on and off. I used to use a Marshall 100 watt stack. I now use 100 watt H+H Valvestate Musician for stage work and a Behringer 110 and a B.C. Rich BC20 practice amps.
Initially I was dissappointed with the built-in effects, but after experimenting with them over the last 6 months or so, I have found some useful settings. I tend to use channels 7, set at 20 and channel 98 set at 43 the most, for rock work. You need to experiment with the channels and settings, as most settings are set at or near the minimum amount of effect.

I may get a MIDI switch to control the Behringer's effects and channels in the future.

Features ohoy! My 2002/2003 amp has 99 effects settings with memory. Adjust the amount of effect, press and hold the effect-button on the amp, and it's stored. You can select if the effects should depend on channel setting or not. A lot of effects and settings to suit any guitar and style. All kinds of connections, even midi! I have tried it, but you will be able to get your sequencer to switch effects in the middle of a song. Metal footswitch included.

Sound Quality : 8
I use an 1980 Aria Les Paul copy with high-output humbuckers and a Yamaha APX 10 nylon string guitar. The amp works well with both guitars. There is some backgound hiss/noise, specially with the acoustic guitar. The amp settings are versatile, everyone should be able to find decent sounds that suit their way of playing. Huge range to the bass/mid/treble knobs. If you set them all to zero, the amp makes no sound at all. Distortion is mediocre solid state.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems, but I've only had it for a few weeks. Turn down volume when switching on/off to avoid loud pop. Looks well built, but be careful with the plastic knobs.

Although I stand by my assessment of the GX110's features and versatility, I regret to inform you that the same fault has reared it's head with the replacement amp, just two days after I posted the last review!! This time, though, the rumbling sound accompanying each note appears after playing for about 10 minutes. It also went la la the other day; when I turned it on, everything seemed to work, but no sound would come out. Turned it off, then on, and it started making guitar noises again, like nothing ever happened. I think I tempted fate by posting a review, emailing the shop to thank them for their service, and putting the packing in the loft...

I feel like a real git for bothering the dealer again, especially considering how helpful he was last time, and how it had to be shipped nearly 300 miles. Maybe I'll buy another amp from the range they stock, which covers all the major manufacturers. Might soften the blow. As for Behringer themselves, they need to have a serious word to their R&D or quality control boys and girls.

Bought in 2003. I think the amp was made as a more traditional-looking practice combo addition to the range which includes the bigger Blue Devil. The GX110 has shed-loads of features, read the other reviews. Footswitch is a great bonus. I only bought it as a practice amp, so my judgement is based on such expectations. I play anything from metal to bluegrass, so having a load of effects is great, even if some aren't all that inspiring. At the price it's incredible value. And contrary to one of the earlier reviews, you can nominate a separate effect for each channel, and switch the effect on or off using the footswitch, effectively giving you four different sound options without having to bend down to tweak the settings.

Sound Quality : 8
The clean sounds are great, and it suits my Yamaha APX6 acoustic well, too. Very little hum, especially through humbuckers. The cabinet simulation effects have a fair bit of extra hiss, though I think this is deliberate for authentic stack sounds. Even with the APX there's very little feedback, especially if you put a rolled up scarf in the soundhole! Distortion sounds are quite tight and smooth, but high-gain metal riffs or wailing sustain aren't catered for all that well. I may invest in a decent pedal at some point, like a Boss OD2, or possibly an Ibanez TS9, but I only use the amp for home practice, so it's not as if it's gonna kill me to wait until I can spare the cash. High volumes do produce a bit of breakup on clean, but I don't habitually max out my amp in my room. The effects are nice, although I think it might have been better to have fewer effects with more adjustability on each effect. I think it caters for most tastes, but any gigging musician wouldn't buy an amp like this for stage performance, and with that in mind, the effects are high-quality. There's an effects loop, anyway, so you can blend and modify the sounds using external units.

Reliability : 7
Tough call, this. I'm on my second one. The first one developed a sickly rumbling noise, which wasn't a blown speaker, as it was the same through headphones. The current one is going great guns at the moment, so fingers crossed. Build quality is pretty good, although it's a bit of a shame the knob spindles are plastic: care needed, although it's not the kind of amp which is going to spend its life on the road. It could probably do the occasional gig, through a PA, mind, but I wouldn't mosh near it in case I put a boot through it. Solo acoustic set, perhaps. There is a pretty unhealthy pop as you switch it off with the volume up, but which amp doesn't have this? Any sensible person turns the master volume down before switching any amp off, so you don't deafen yourself with feedback next time you switch it on with yout guitar in front of the speaker.

Customer Support : 9
I haven't dealt with Behringer. I registered the amp online, but as I'm in the UK, my nearest office is in Germany! I'm not bothered about this, though: it's not as if much of the stuff you can buy in the UK is home grown these days (...yeah, ok, Marshall, Laney etc...I had to be different!). And besides, I received great service from www.gak.co.uk, who I bought the GX110 from. Very prompt delivery, and no hassle at all when the amp needed replacing. Like anything made overseas, just buy it from a helpful and trustworthy dealer.

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing for about six years. The Behringer is my third amp. Ive owned a Laney HCM25 which was brutally loud, but made funny noises and broke down, and a Fender Auto GT, which sounded nice and was well made, but had the cheapest pots on earth and very poor adjustability. The GX110 beats both on versatility, even if it couldn't cut through a live mix. It's good to be able to turn the volume and EQ knobs and see some effect, too. With most amps, useable home practice volume exists somewhere from 0-2 on the dial. With the Behringer, you haven't got to just nervously nudge the pots. The EQ is very adjustable. The footswitch feels pretty bulletproof, and yes, I know the switching has a slight delay, but would you seriously consider gigging with a cheap 30W practice amp? I find it quite amusing that you can use a MIDI pedalboard with it! Never gonna bother. I'm planning to do some recording with the GX110, what with the effects and simulated line-out. Should be great for making demos. I'd definitely buy it again while living with my parents. If I had my own house, I'd get something a bit bigger and louder, though.

This amplifier, while it may suit some, doesn't suit me. It's acceptable at low volumes, but this thing can't handle its own volume! Yeah, yeah...I know if you dime an amp there will be a little breakup. But not this much! The clean channel's headroom is terrible. I've found that gigging with this amp is not smart. And no, I'm not trying to use it by itself. I'm just angling it right at my head on top of a big rack, and unable to hear myself over the stage volume.

Other than my problems, it's an okay practice amp.

Reliability : 5
Knob stems are cheap plastic - broke a couple off the first week I had it. Took a certified Behringer dealer in Sioux Falls a month and a half to fix two knobs at a cost of $45, and they didn't even use real behringer parts - Radioshack cheapos that don't match!

I've owned the amp for around 4 months now, thought it was sliced bread when I first brought it. Loud enough for home use, loads of effects to play with and the speaker grill is catspiss proof.

Sound Quality : 8
Play an epiphone SG goth and a cheapo strat copy, the clean channel is really nice with a touch of reverb. Loved the overdrive at first but with time it started to sound a little artificial somehow. The delay is dissapointing as it seems to have a notch or click as the signal is mixed with the echo. Use a Boss BD-2 stomp box for beauty and a danelectro fab tone for the beast. Give it an 8 for the clean channel, reverb, chorus and flanger.

Reliability : 6
Power pops as mentioned by others, the clean channel volume has to be up around 8/9. Otherwise no problems as yet.

I use Jackson JS20 and usually only the humbucker. It's distortion could be a little heavier, but when you put the stack-effect on.. ahh it's so nice. It's hard to return to the normal distortion :P I play metal and rock, e.g. The Offspring and Iron Maiden and it has been good so far. I use this amp at home and I have realized that it's perfect for home use, but forget gigs or stuff. This amp is not loud, but perfect for practising at home. At least with my settings, the clean sound starts being distorted when you put much volume, but it stays clean enough. At least with the volume I play. (pretty "loud")

For the cost this is the most diverse amp I have seen. I like the footswitch and the ability to have effects stored on the clean and dirty channels to be different. Sounds pretty good too. Jensen speaker. It's not a 50's twin with a whole bunch of pedals A/B -d with a JC120 and the same stack of stompboxes but for an apartment jam amp I am so impressed.

I bought it because I needed something small to record with that day at a friends place. I had my homemade hardtail strat with p-90's from the ol' destroyed gibson (read; hum). This 30 watt little mother was probably made in 2001. I bought it a couple months ago and have been tweaking around with it mostly in my house.
I use this for my own songwriting. Haven't really peformed any covers on it. It has enough features. What else can you expect for an amp of this price?
What I have noticed is it can be a pain to find the right volume setting. There's a master volume and a separate volume for each channel. You have to tweak around with the master sometimes after you click onto the channel.
This is a great amp for an acoustic (Fender GA45SCE) but it's prone to feedback. I think that may be more the guitar's fault though.
Two big reasons I bought this amp. It comes with a footswitch (For this price nobody else does that and it's not too ugly) and it has an out so you can run it through a pa. Why not run it through a PA? Give it a shot and see what it's capable of.
Power, yeah. This is apartment loud but not club loud. Know what I mean? It'll get you evicted but not by your drummer.
This thing is also light. You can take it anywhere.

Sound Quality : 7
The sounds go from great to ridiculous. But every model amp should provide some sounds that are lame and just stupid. You can almost simulate space ships with this thing. But hey, the designers don't know what you want to do so they give you options. I personally find the "stage" effect on the distortion channel especially tasty for a good grunge sound. For my acoustic I like the chorus and the delays. Even the flanger isn't bad. There's a lot more tweaking I have to do. I'm not a big effects type person so I don't really need all it provides. But I think it's competitive with a much more expensive Line 6 Spider. And why buy the Spider when you can get this for much less? Spiders suck on stage so it's not like it's gonna be a contest there.
Now some of the distortions are brutal. They can be lame. Some of the others are nice. The cabinets are pretty cool. It's not a tube but I think it'd do fine with some home recording, especially if you're just making demos.

Reliability : No Opinion
I don't know if you can depend on it. I've read where it freezes like a computer. I did gig with it once at an open mic. Was three of us on stage, two guitars and a bass. My friend was using the Behringer and it just stopped playing. We were running it through a PA. I took it out of the PA and plugged straight into the amp and it was fine. I'm gonna have to try the PA thing again just to see what the deal is. Perhaps the PA channel quit.
I take care of my gear so I can't tell you how much abuse it takes.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with them. I bought it from Mars and that kinda scares me with their bankruptcy and all. I'm probably screwed if it kaputzes.
The warranty, sheesh I forget. Read another review.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing several years. I'm in a forming band. We're still getting it together. I bought this as a tool that could be used in some potential situations. I also play my strat through it. If it were lost or stolen I'd probably get something else just for the sake of diversity and a new experience. Perhaps you should get a tube amp and just buy pedals. Or you could get a Yamaha Stomp box or a POD and play that through a PA or into your recorder. This is mostly a practice amp for shits and giggles.
I like the out and the footswitch. Those are pretty cool.
The amp has a distinctive smell to it. Especially when it's heated up. Friends come over and ask if I turned the heat on. Nope, it's just my Behringer and it's not even a tube.
The dialing from one effect to another is kind of a pain. That's not much fun.

New 2002 amp. Two channel with digital effects. Comes with foot pedal. Tons of digital effects. I bought this as a practice amp for a condo that I own in Florida. I have many tube amps up north and wanted something cheap to leave in my condo. Someone down below describes every feature this thing has so I won't bother.

Sound Quality : 10
I am in a band, it is a hobby for me. I play guitar every single day, it's like prozak for me. I needed to have an amp at my vacation home to fool around with. The criteria was simple, It had to be around $150.00 and sound halfway decent. This was an experience for me. I have at least 15 tube amps at home and I am what you would call a tone snob. I looked at all the cheap amps on the floor and I was about to give up when the salesman at MARS suggested this amp. I really liked it. I think for what it costs it is a great little amp. I found great sounds, I think the effects are cool, sure there are some lame ones out of the 99 offered, but there are cool ones too. The Jensen speaker delivers a nice full sound. I am on the 12th floor of a condo building so I don't need loud. I think it does a bangup job of tube emulation. For the money, I couldn't be happier with the tones this amp has.

Reliability : 10
OK, I read the other posts, mine has that pop that you guys are talking about, I make sure the volume is down when I turn it on. I am quite sure I will not have to worry about frying my speaker cause the condo comandos will kick my ass out before that happens. Mine never locked up like one guy said. I think you have to be realistic, this is a practice amp, you will be abusing it to death if you try to be heard over a drummer or other band mates. I think it is an awesome practise amp. There isn't alot of cheap stuff out there that has any kind of tone, this one is pretty unique.

If you were a beginner, this would be an awesome first amp. If you were like me and looking for something for low volume practice, cheap and sounding better than a pignose this is it. All my stuff is real big and heavy, the smallest amp I have is a 72' Fender Princeton Reverb. I wish I had another one of these GX110's in Jersey to move around from the deck to the garage to my office, to my friends house for song writing. I have at least 20 grand in music stuff and I say this is a cool little amp.

There are a lot of features here, just look on the Behringer website to see them all if you dont already know. Its definantly powerful enough, but it almost seems that it has too many features. EQ for the seperate channels would be nice, but thats asking a little much for the price.

Sound Quality : 8
The clean channel has a sort of overdriven sound at high volumes, but i think that is just the speaker breaking up a little. It probably wouldn't do that with a bigger cab, but I like that sound anyway (it hasnt seemed to damage the speaker so far.) The distorted channel is not the best, but hey, what do you expect from a solid-state amp. The clean channel is fine though. I like to play clean, with a lot of mid and bass. The amp gets a little feedbacky every now and then, but its a good feedback, not annoying feedback. Most of the effects are nice, but I dont really use them much. When you turn it on or off, it makes a loud pop. I just kill the volume before turning on or off, to keep from damaging the speaker. It gets a little hummy at high volumes, and especially if you stand to close. Just back away a little, and turn it down a litte, and your problem is solved. The expander effect thing helps a lot with that too.

I've had it for a couple of months, no problems yet. Just one time i had it on for a long time without doing anything, and it sorta conked out. It was on, but the effects wouldnt change, I guess it just froze up, like a PC does sometimes. I turned it off, and then back on a few minutes later and it was fine. Hasnt done it since.

Never delt with them. I did filled out the warranty thing at the Behringer website.

Overall Rating : 8
I bought it mainly on price. If it were stolen, i'd look around at some other things, but probably end up with another one of these. I'm not a huge digital fan, nor am i really a fan of solid state period, but you have to admit, it can be a lot more reliable. I just wish they had worked a little harder on the distorted channel, it gives decent sounds, and I dont really use much distortion any way, but it could definantly be a lot better.

First of all, I am returning the amp. The clean sound is ok, but the dirty channel is really bad. Trying dialing up the gain and the amp will buzz like crazy (with humbucker).
I mostly use only reverb/chorus and they are pretty good.

Reliability : 5
Have the amp for a month. Speaker gives a loud (I mean LOUD) popping noise whenever I turned on/off the amp. anyway, I am returning it...

Customer Support : 8
I emailed Behringer and they are actually pretty good in customer support. They emailed me back in a day asking me for S/N and receipt for the amp so they can arrange for a repair.

Again, I am not satisfied with the drive channel at all. Sounds bad at low or hi gain. However, if u use pedal, the clean chnl is ok and u will have tons of ok effects to play with.

I just got my amp about one week ago. I love it. It has 37 digital effects with the option of mixing them and all for $200. I was going to get a Marshall MG30DFX for $50 more, but the worker recommended the Behringer. So I tried it out. The effects are awesome.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm playing on it with a Squier Fat Strat. I primarily use the humbuckers, but the pickups work pretty well with it. The distortion is great for anything from Nirvana to Metallica. The clean is clean from what I can tell, although I've only used it a couple of times. The only problem I have with it is that it's really not that loud. I wouldn't try to play any gig with it. But you shouldn't expect it to be very loud. Come on. It's $200.

Like I said earlier, I just bought it. It seems pretty sturdy and I've got a 2 year warranty on it so I'm happy

Home studio use only. It has a lot of nice DSP effects. I especially like the reverb/delay combination. The cab simulators are a joke. You need a good external simulator for that. Tremelo and chorus are sweet and smooth. Lots of I/O on the back. Sounds good running through my board for recording.

The features have been mentioned previously. I'm mainly a "couch player", but I do jam with friends on occasion. I'm into blues and rock mainly. I wanted something at a reasonable price, 30 watts minimum and a 10" speaker and reverb. This amp has all that and more as the others have stated. The combinations that the effects can be used is very limited, but hey for $169 I can't complain, a Cyber Twin she aint!

Sound Quality : 5
I found this amp better suited to my guitars with humbucking pick-ups. My Fender with single coils was too noisy. Since my favorite tones are single coil generated, I returned the amp to MF last week. I would not recommend this amp for single coil guitars, it hisses louder than my wife when she balances the check book. I rated a 5, but I realize all amps don't sound good with all guitars.

Reliability : No Opinion
I didn't have the amp long enough to experience any problems. I did put it through it's paces for about a week.

Customer Support : 8
Like the bone head that I am, I bought this amp, then read the reviews. I was concerned, so before I took the amp out of the plastic, I called their cutomer service # in Washington (state). I was told by the courteous service rep., that if the amp broke, based on my location I would send it to their regional service center in NYC. That seemed fair to me.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Not a bad amp. Fun with all the effects and the price is right, but this amp wasn't what I was looking for. If you prefer single coil pu's I wouldn't recommend this product due to excessive line noise.

I bought this new around November of '01. By the time you read this review, you know all about the features, the 99 digital fx, 2 channels, and the various in's and out's options. It was the only amp in this price range that came with a channel switch stomp box. I play a variety of music in the rock genre, everything from metal to classic rock. I never play live, I record at home so 30 watts is plenty.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a Kramer Baretta with Quad Rail pickups. The amp seems noisy to me, it helps turning the monitor off on the computer, but when you're recording on the computer, that's kind of impossible. I have no problem combining the OD channel with the fx. Some fx sound good, the speaker cab sims especially.

Reliability : 3
I have actually played the amp for less than 7 hours and the speaker is toast. I didn't realize that I had to send my warrenty card to Germany within 2 weeks of purchase, so I didn't. After reading previous reviews, I might replace the speaker, trade it for something else and cut my losses. Which really is a shame with all the in's and out's is has for recording.

Customer Support : 5
Have not dealt with the company, but from what I've read above, I'm glad I didn't even try.

Overall Rating : 7
I played quite a bit from '76 - '86 and then not much until now. I also use a Johnson J-station (love it!. I would certainly not replace this amp with the same model. I compared it with Crate (I had an original CR-1 and loved it). I also bought a Rocktron RC50 but returned it due to excessive noise (although it reallt was loud). Getting back into music after so many years I've learned, the hard way on at least 3 different occasions, go to a store and check the stuff out.

Bought as a first 'real' amp for a 15-year-old strat player (and myself, his Dad). Based on the research I was able to do this was far and away the most bang for the buck. It has lots of fun effects and is loud enough for practice but won't lift the roof off your house.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm sure a more expensive Fender or Marshall sounds better but for beginners and household practice players this thing is fine. The clean channel is a bit thin and the gain is not especially 'crunchy' but those are minor issues. With all the settings you can get just about anything you want.

Terrible, been 8 weeks, 7 emails for warranty service ignored by support@behiringer.com, only support numbers to call are overseas (just an address for behringer USA). Called Germany 3 times, twice disconnected while on hold, and once told to call US number, but they hung up before I could ask for it !!!! dumkoffs!!!! So I am just to assume that their products are junk and the warranty/support are just window dressing to suck you in as they provide none.

I understand that there are lemons and thought I might have received one, but the total lack of support from the dealer (told me I had to obtain warranty service) and Behringer (they just plainly ignore you), so I would never buy another behringer product, nor could I reccomend one in good conscince to anyone.

Solid state amp with 10" speaker + effect rack. Speaker simulated and headphones out, aux in. Ext. speaker jack and fx loop provided.I bought it because it offers great miked sounds at low levels, as well as good direct recording features.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this strictly for recording. My opinions are strictly based on that. Having said that, it's a terrific amp. i don't want volume and I do not need to switch between sounds instantly either. I play all kinds of music, use a Fender Strat and usually go for a sound that's uncoloured and lets you hear the string, wood and different picking attacks, regardless of the amount of distortion used. I'm almost there with this amp! Really! The only sound I can't get is scoped Metallica kind of sounds, which I couldn't care less about anyway.
The clean channel is kinda tubey and has a sweet sound. The distiortion is very good on it's own too. BUT - to get Strat transparency and be able to go from Sultans of swing to SRV to Malmsteen by simply turning the guitar's volume, I plug in my Boss OS-2.
I use it on the dist channel with gain set to zero on the amp.
The pedal is set to max gain, no dist and treble set to 3 o'clock ,compensated by cutting treble to about 3 on the amp.
(I could have used any pedal, as long as it gave added gain and treble)
The bottom line is: the amp provides a base of spongy od sound with a tubey character. And it welcomes pedals! Far from all amps do this.
If you need clarity to top things, just boost the input with whatever you've got.
Well - this gives me a superb Strat tone for quiet recordings.
I've searched for this sound a long time and used everything from tube amps to POD and everything in between. Now I'm satisfied, especially considering the price! If people saw this as an alternative to POD, they'd be viewing the amp in it's right context.
And the effects are great. You can't tweak them much, but your basic smorgasbord is there and behaves like expected.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know. Won't be taking it out so I guess it will be OK.

I've been playng for 25 years in different settings. I've been recording at home for the last 6 years and I've set out to find a good sound at an affordable price that is suitable for this. I'd definately buy this again. It's lineout is more than fine for clean sounds. And the miked distorted, basic rock n'roll sounds are far better than anything I've achieved going direct, and better than most amps I've had. Including the hyped POD, Tech 21 products and so on. I've even run my acoustic through it and recorded direct with an acceptable result.
I guess it wouldn't cut a gig or rehearsal because of it's small size, but as I said - this is not how I use. If that's your concern - check out the new 2x12 combo they offer.

Where to start. Two channels, OD and clean footswitchable. Comes with metal footswitch for channel switching and effects. 10" Jensen special design speaker with tiny magnet. Usual bass, treble, mid controls. However, both channels use same tone controls. OD channel cannot use effects, at least on mine. Effects (99) cannot be combined with each other or with OD. Bummer. Effects include almost everything you can think of, including some weird stuff. Not much power, I have mine set on 7 all the time. Tons of jacks on back for ext. speaker, headphones, DI out, MIDI in, FX loop in/out. Oh yeah, it has wet/dry mix control, perhaps the amps best feature. Way more features than it should have at this price. It's got a friggen computer brain!

Sound Quality : 9
Two ratings here: Clean channel - 9 It will never sound like a tube amp, but sounds better than most transistor amps. Not as good as my Marshall though. Effects vary widely. WTF is auto-wah? It sucks. Chorus sounds ok with acoustic guitar, but my strat doesn't do so well. I use Seymour Duncan PUPs. Tremelo sounds very 60's like, cool.
Reverbs are digital-sounding, but editable. Delays and pitch-shifters work well, I use them a lot. Flanger is barely noticable, weak. Compressor and expander sound like crap.
OD channel: Some good sounds, but beware, my single coils get the 60 cycle hum louder than the amp itself on the OD channel, so single coils are unusable with the OD channel. Humbucks, like my Duncans are silent. Silent I tell you! It's a shame you can't use effects on the OD channel. I would love the pitch-shitter with the gain cranked to ten! Even the clean channel is noisy when the volume is cranked with humbucks. Clean channel will sound slightly crunchy when cranked. Bass response is very good overall. Tone control settings have a huge impact on the sound. Overall, it never sounds muddy or harsh and the OD sounds great with buckers. Clean sounds good with singles or buckers, effects are very clean. I hooked a piezo tweeter to the extra lugs on the Jensen and my Taylor sounded very natural, an unexpected bonus. I tried my Fender P-bass through it and it sounded good too, but I didn't crank it past 7.

Reliability : 2
Well, it all smashed up when it arrived. But it was mostly MF's fault (Musician's Fiend). It was loose in a huge box with no packing inside. Shame on you MF! I'll never buy from there again. The plastic corners were all broken. They should be made of steel, not plastic. The digital readout got confused when I was editing effects. It makes an extremely loud popping noise when turned on and off, indicative of a faulty power supply design.

Customer Support : 1
No luck yet, I'll keep trying.

Overall Rating : 9
You get a lot for $170.00, just buy from MF. I will be gigging with this amp soon, and using it in my studio with my Duncanized strat. Sounds as good as or better than little Fender Champion 30, although not as loud. You can always upgrade the speaker with a Celestion Vintage 30 for $80.00. DSP effects are a lot of fun, something there for the whole family. I plan on using it with my Acoustic on small gigs. I am very impressed with this amp's DSP, although it gets confused easily and forgets sometimes. Oh well, it's only human. If it weren't for the noise and lack of effects on OD, i would give it a 10 here. It needs a longer AC cord (only 5ft). Instead of a master volume control, it should have a master reverb control. Master volume is not necessary. This would allow room for about 50 more effects since reverb is used in about 50% of the presets. I would like more control of the modulation effects, such as flange, tremelo, phaser.
The chorus will never sound like the analog chorus on my Marshall, and the reverb will never sound like the spring reverb in my Marshall or Fender, and the OD will never sound like a Marshall, and the clean channel will never sound as warm as a tube amp. It has a sound all its own, and it's a good sound. The price is rediculously low.

Can't get a good scooped metal sound, speaker farts out when you turn it up to 3 with full gain, and is not even very loud. My 20 watt Crate was louder. Clean channel clips out before it gets loud at all. Nice effects. May have a blown speaker.

Reliability : 1
Maybe I just got a bad one with a blown speaker or something, but where was quality control? didn't they plug it in before they shipped it? This gives me a very negative opinion of the new mass produced Jensen Chicago Speakers, I shipped it back the second day I had it...

GX110, all the features covered in previous reviews. I was buying this amp for my 13 yo nephew who has been playing for a yr or so (beginner), and the description/price seemed good so after checking the reviews I got one.... after all it had to be better than what he had... which was one of those belt strap things.

Sound Quality : 8
Was to be used with a strat I gave him, but the 40 min I spent playing around and checking out the effects was with a LP signature, a fat strat, and a stratacuostic, and I was suprisingly 'impressed' with this amp. For the features/price thought it would be perfect for my nephew, you can get a pretty decent array of sounds (clean, distorted, etc) which I thought would be great for a beginner to expermint with and keep his interest.

Reliability : No Opinion
Well heres thae bad news... I played it 40 min, a couple of hours later my nephew came over for his bday, and we fired it up. After playing it for about 5 min he changed effects and the display LED's 'locked up' and the amp was 'dead'... figured as it has a micro inside, and it is low cost (hey my flextone 'locks' up sometimes under midi control) just 'reboot' it... so cycled power, and it came back up. After a few min more min of use when changing effects again the same thing occured... but this time it would not power back up... DEAD. I took it apart to check for the obvious loose wires/fried components etc, but nothing was obvious... and as a note here I do have to say the manafacturing quality of the amp was very high (I'am an EE and although I don't design amps I do design electronic systems/assemblys for industrial use), so I will assume that I just got a 'lemon', but don't know if I will receive a replacement to judge against (see below) so I will leave this a 'no opinion' as it is microprocessor controlled... and the other reviews are good.. so I'll give the benifit of doub't to Behringer here.

Customer Support : 1
Well I bought it off eBay as new from Music123.com, the shipping to me was $25, $18 to send it back and now they want another $25 to ship a replacement... but spending $70 bucks on shipping for a $130 amp is crazy, especially if the replacement dies it'll just cost me another $50 bucks... so I'am cutting my losses now, and will probally buy a used peavey for him. I buy alot of equipment off eBay and this is the first time I've been 'gouged' with shipping costs on defective equipment sold as new, usually a company will work with you to keep your bussiness... oh yeah, I did call Behringer, they told me to go through the seller for replacement, or I could send it to WA for service, which again would be even higher round trip shipping.

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing over 25 years, I mostly use line 6 heads/amps lately, but have aquired/collected most the classics over the years, guitars too. Though the amp impressed me at first as a good alternative for a beginner because of the wide array of effects, but not enough to really get another one, or pay the shipping to have a replacement sent to me for that matter... I'll probally just get a him a used peavey transformer 112.

Purchased less than a month ago, November, 2001. Still Learning it. Lots of features and a manual that assumes some previous effects experience. There are 99 built-in preset effects that can be tweaked and saved by the user. Clean and Distortion channel can both use effects or not as desired. Too many features to list. I like that I can play a mic or cd through it, too.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm a new player with a SSH pickup layout on a cheap guitar so I have little to compare it with but I play mostly rock and alternative and it is working out fine so far. No problems with sound at any volume. In my limited experience I think it sounds great.

Reliability : No Opinion
Gig? Hah. I gotta learn to play first. But seriously, this thing seems like it will last me forever or as long as I need it. Very sturdy. Quality construction. Electronics seem to be self-contained, though, so if it ever were to break I doubt I could fix it myself. It is too new for a real opinion but so far so good.

Customer Support : 8
Never used support for any problems but I did register on the company's website, which was simple and well laid out. The company seems to be interested in looking good to its customers.

I didnt see too much on the net about this amp but it sure looked interesting. Effects, 10" speaker (Jensen) and 30 watts with TUBE simulation. Clean and Dirty channel. Like the inputs for RCA jack type line inputs on the back. I sometimes use this for my SY77 keyboard and the sound is actually quite good. Effects editing is limited but I like the wide range of styles. I figure if you want picky editing etc spend more or just hook up with the send/return FX loop. Footswitch is a bonus too.

Sound Quality : 8
Lots of variety with the FX settings (31) and 99 presets. Jazz to distortion to clean etc. Clean channel sounds nice too. Clean channel very quite (humbucker guitar) distortion channel hums a little but not bad.

This is a new amp. I live in Wales and could not find a stockist. I bought mine over the internet. No one i know has one. This amp is great. It has two channels onboard effects and a free footswitch. Great value for money. For a full list of spec see manufacturers website. This was my second amp. Upgraded my little practice amp for something bigger. I use this when practicing in my room and when playing with my band. It is loud enough to compete with the drummer. Not loud enough for gigs really although external speakers can be added. I was looking for a fifty but settled on this as it is quite small and light. The effects also are great. There are presets that can be customised.

Sound Quality : 9
I use a standard fender. I play everything from blues to rock and grunge. As you would expect from any guitar with single coils it can get a little noisey. My advice is get as far away as possible. Two metres sorts out the slight hum. Any guitar with humbuckers it is silent. The amp seems to suit all styles of play and the effects make it even more versitile. There is a good clean channel that performs consistantly at all volumes and the distorted channel is also good for this.

Reliability : 9
I have not had the amp long. If it let me down this early i would bin it although this hasnt happened and its rugged design and quality parts make me feel it will go on and on. my rating is an educated guess.

Customer Support : 9
Never dealt with the customer service. Wouldnt thought you would need to especially if you buy from a trust worthy retailer.

Overall Rating : 10
I have tried many amps and would say this is unbelievable especialy for the price tag. If this is going to be a new trend in amp prices then the big names may have to sit up and take notice. Worth a go. Beats anything in the price range and the extra's are great. A footswitch included, A built in effects processor all for the tiny cost of under 200 dollers. I will certainly be looking at behringers larger amplifiers in this range when i feel i need a bigger amp. If they are half the quality that the gx110 is they will be a good buy.

I also have a 1976 Peavey Classic (original owner) and play a Standard Strat and now a new DeArmond M-72 (recently reviewed). To have the Peavey match the versatility of this amp I would need a peddle and rack array that would put Eric Johnson's rig to shame! It is like having 12 different amps at your disposal. You want EJ's type of melodic smoothness it's there, if you want some Angus Young power crunch just choose another preset, need some Dean DeLeo grunge you got it!
Clean channel stays clean all the way up the volume scale while the distortion comes through even at low volumes. And all of it is finely adjustable via the FX mix and the 3-band EQ. Slight hum comes through on the Strat (expected on a single coil axe) and it is dead quiet on the dual h/b M-72.
My only complaint, and it is quite minor considering the value here, is that there is a slight (half beat) delay when switching channels or using the FX switches on the included footswitch. It just means you need to anticipate the change a bit - something I got used to by the second day of use.

Reliability : 9
I have no idea at this time, but it certainly seems ruggedly built. As opposed to some of the complaints I have read about the GX-112's construction, the cabinet is built with solid 3/4" wood (NOT pressed) and covered with the typical faux-leather vinyl. The corners are reinforced with heavy-duty rubber corners. All in all, it looks like it will take quite a beating and will keep on going. My rating here is obviously based on my expectations.

Never dealt with Behringer. But if anything goes wrong I know that WLA Music will stand behind it - those guys are great!

Overall Rating : 10
After owning two Peavey's (I also have a practice 20 that just died - hence, this purchase) I wanted to try something different. And, boy, am I glad I did! For features at this price point it just can't be beat. All the guitar guys at WLA Music were drooling over this puppy when it came in (thanks for standing guard over it, Glenn) since it was the first one they had received - now I know why. Behringer is shortly coming out with a twin 60W stereo version of this amp with even more features and a 4x12 cabinet to match - I can't wait!
I may be the first on the block with this new toy - but I won't be alone for long.
