Las prestaciones de este ampli son realmente muchas, no perder?? el tiempo describi??ndolas ya que muchos lo han hecho en este lugar. Es Tremendamente vers??til, te permite una gama bien extensa de opciones que no he visto en otros amplis, puedes usarlo en directo, para grabar directamente en el estudio, puedes conectarlo a una c??nsola amplificandolo hasta que se te revienten los oidos, puedes conectarle todo lo que se te antoje en el panel trasero, desde CD player hasta lo que se te ocurra, en fin, realmente es un ampli que puedes usar tanto para directo como para una variada gama de opciones de grabaci??n. Lo que m??s se extra??a en este ampli es que no tenga una entrada USB, cuando se la pongan los Behringer, cre??nme que realmente le har??n una dura competencia a los productos Line 6 de esta gama. En la p??gina Behringer esta un programa de conecci??n via midi que te permite manejar ciertos par??metros desde la compu, sin embargo no he podido hacerlo, esto del midi se me esta complicando algo, pero es un problema de cultura personal. Por la falta de puerto usb y lo complicado que me resulta lo midi le pondr?? un nueve, pero en verdad las prestaciones de este ampli son m??ltiples, ??tiles, buenas y poco comunes en amplificadores de guitarra de esta gama. son prestacione excelentes tanto para un novato como para un profesional, lo digo en serio.

El primer dia que lo enchufe casi lloro de arrepentimiento, me sonaba a mierda pura, maldije a Behringer y a toda su generaci??n, pero repirando profundo y leyendo bien el manual, aplicando las opciones que ofrece el ampli,la cosa cambio totalmente. Le ped?? perd??n de rodillas a Behringer y a sus ancestros, jejeje. Tiene muchas opciones de salida programables, cada una de ellas con opciones diferentes y sumamente ??tiles a mi parecer. OJO: Le??rse bien el manual es la clave!
La opcion L1 y L2 Son buenas para sonarlo directo, las dem??s son para grabaci??n y estudio, hay que estar pendiente de eso!

Realmente bueno el sonido despues de jugar con el manual y los botones! Es sumamente pl??stico a la hora de seleccionar, tiene una variada gama de simuladores de amplificador que realmente suenan bien, no ser??n imitaciones sonicas id??nticas a los originales, pero se acercan, te permiten una gama bien amplia de opciones de sonido, 32 simulaciones de ampli que pueden encajar con cualquier estilo. Tengo el Ri??on rojo de Line 6, el famoso POD xt, el GNX4 y una monta??a de pedalillos de todas las marcas, pero con franqueza, prefiero el simulador de este ampli que no es mas que una version entre Vamp 2 y el vamp pro, Ac?? el asunto es de gusto personal y buscar el sonido individual de acuerdo al estilo. Tiene un brillito valvular en algunas simulaciones que me encanta, cosa que no percibo en POD xt, de hecho lo tengo guardado y no lo vendo porque colecciono pedales y tiene sus cosillas buenas tambi??n. Las distorsiones, a mi gusto, son de la puta madre, buenas de verdad! Los limpios suenan bastante bien en ciertas simulaciones de ampli, todo es darle a los botones, y cr??eme que te acercaras al sonido que estas buscando.

La corneta que trae no es buena, pero al conectarlo a otros gabinetes la cosa cambia radicalmente. Es recomendable cambiarle la corneta. Personalmente muto la salida interna del ampli cuando toco en el sal??n y lo conecto a un Laney MXd (solid state) de 120 W. Suena el conjunto de la put??sima madre. En mi estudio casero trabajo con los cocos, de lo contrario me expulsarian de la residencia, sin embargo tocando en ensayos en sal??n peque??o con amigos el sonido queda bien tal como viene. Es un amplificador poco potente en volumen, cuando estas solo perfecto, pero cuando tocas con otros y sobre todo con un baterista lamentas su poca fuerza, creo que realmente no tiene los RMS que dice Tener. A veces tengo que conectarlo a la consola cuando no uso el Laney MXD para compensar un poco

Los efectos de sonido son realmente buenos, para mi gusto, reverb y ecos son importantes y estos que trae me satisfacen. Las distorsiones en algunos modelos de ampli son la verga de triana, algo ruidosas de fondo, problema que tienen casi todos los amplis y que se soluciona bien con el Noise gate que trae el ampli o uno externo, personalmente uso el Nosise supresor Boss NS-2.

En conclusion, el sonido es bueno de verdad, y los efectos tambien con la condicion de que estudies el manual y realmente experimentes. Por la poca calidad de la corneta interna y la baja potencia en volumen le pongo un nueve tomando en consideracion el precio del ampli ( muy economico en eso le pongo 10.000), pero insisto, suena muy bien!

Para la gama de precio que tiene el ampli realmente no puedes esperar calidad excelente en los componentes. Los botoncilos de pl??stico se ven y sienten algo delicados, hasta el momento no he tenido problemas, pero me cuido de que un golpecillo transforme en escremento plastificado los botones. ojo cuando lo transportes! La caja esta bien, buen acabado en general. Por la gama de precio que tiene le pondre un 9

Hasta el momento no lo he requerido, el manual es bastante explicito y me aclara las cosas. Algo tedioso a veces para leerlo, pero realmente este amplificador tiene muchas prestaciones minuciosas.

He tocado guitarra y bajo durante mas de 25 a??os, rocker de coraz??n, me paseo desde el pop, blues hasta el Heavy metal mas duro. He probado y tenido una gama bien extensa de amplificadores durante toda mi vida, los he probado y tenido de tubos asi como tambien solid state. Pedales tengo una lista bien extensa, realmente colecciono pedales.T engo 10 guitarras electricas, (Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Epiphone y varias koreanas envenenadas por mi que ahora son mis preferidas, un bajo y dos electroac??sticas). Esto de los ampli es un asunto de gusto y oido personal. Por la relacion calidad precio, las prestaciones y el sonido que tiene este ampli le pongo un 10 redondo. Si lo perdiera me comprara otro o tal vez el Vamp pro para sustituirlo. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. felicitaciones a Behringer!

The features on this amp are great and there is a really wide variety of whatever you want, all popular effects are there such as wah or delay or flanger or chorus

sounds good but the clean sounds can be a little spoiled and most of the time it sounds very...meshy, but hook it up to a descent speaker and all that goes

i've owned 2 of these, the first one just stopped working completley lucky it was under warrantee but i still had to wait 2 months until i got another one in return, and guess what, this one loses its memory every time its turned off and it has to be reset so if i want to gig or something ill have to set up all the presets that i want for that certain show right before i have to start and its really frustratiung

they get back to you in a day, but take 2 months to send you back whatever you sent to them to get fixed or exchange for something else

its a really good amp but having to reset the settings everytime i turn it on is a real pain so as far as ive heard noone else has had this problem but yeah, just to be on the safe side if your interested in gigging don't get this but just for jams at home and recoding etc its good just having to reset all the time is a bugger, but the presets that it already has is very good, but there is no good clean channels that sound completley clear

i don't think this amp was made for the hard core pro that just gigs, even though its just loud enough for a not so loud drummer. instead it was made for guy that can take it to a garage jam or open mic at any bar or play solo with backing traks at gatherings,or this amp can be used as a small recording studio,i plug in a tape deck,a portable cd player, and not only can i play to backing traks but i could record them too.i plug in stereo speakers and this amp dose it all.try making a tape of yourself playing to backing traks with one amp! and to top it off i only paid 200.00 bucks for it brand new at gc,

it seems to do everything very well in the sound dept and better than most other modeling amps. it blows away anything in its price range

Covered many times already. Very versatile amp for those on a budget. etc.

This amp can do pretty much anything, but not hugely well. I use it with a variety of guitars (the best of which is a Maton MS2000DLX), running through a Boss V-Wah.
You can get ALOT of different sounds out of this amp, but if anything, there are too many options to adjust. 5 different "base" setups (studio 1-3, live 1,2) that each have their own different timbre (sound). I have found it difficult to get any clean sparkle out of this amp, and the distorted channels are a bit thin. I originaly thought that this may have been a speaker issue, because the "custom design" Jensen speaker is a bit crap. So I bought a Celestion Greenback (which is only 25w, but I don't gig with this amp), which made a HUGE difference, but it still sucks. Distorted channels are very digital sounding, and clip very easily, resulting in mud. The only way to fix this is to turn the input gain down, meaning it doesn't sound any good at all. The amp also gets a nasty hum on the gain channels, fixed only by turning the noise gate right up, which, in turn, kills your sustain. I don't get the hum on my 15w Peavey Rage, or on my Boogie Recto-verb.

This amp does not cut through a band AT ALL. hard to gig with. Great for mucking about tho.

Effects, however, are quite good. Phaser, delay, chorus, auto wah, cominations of the above + others. Reverb can be awesome if you can work out how to make it work for you. there are something like 15 different reverb "modes", from a toilet to a padded room to a cathedral.

This is my backup/practice amp (the Boogie doesn't have a headphone jack, and I live in an apartment), so it doesn't get a huge amount of use or attention. I've had it for around 3.5 years (in the first two it was my main amp) and havn't even had to change the backup battery. Never had any issues.

I've played for 10 years. I bought this amp as my first "gigable" amp, and it survived. Love the versatility, but the sounds are a bit ****.If it was stolen, I'd be a little pissed off, but I wouldn't get another. I wish it had more grunt, so it didn't clip so easily.
It gets a 9 because it was SO CHEAP!

Digital Modeling Amp - Essentially a V-Amp2 with a power amp and a 12" Speaker.

Mine is a couple of years old and came with a Jensen speaker, I believe the latest models have a Bugera.

I use this as a studio / recording amp and live with an extension cab.

Feature list is robust - On board tuner, headphone jack, MIDI in/out/thru, 32 amp models, multiple efx & reverbs. Selectable speaker sim and multiple routing as well as DI connectivity is pretty darn cool.

25 banks of 5 locations for patches (125 total).

Cost to Performance ratio on this amp is Tremendous! BUT..."Plug and Play" it is NOT. You have to spend quite some time tweaking the parameters. The factory pre-sets and default settings do not do justice to what you can get out of this beast.

IMO You MUST read the manual 2x-3x to get the most out of this amp. Not the best written document and they breeze past really esssential things (Drive function, noise gate, 2nd effect parameters etc,etc,etc)

Many of the complaints I read here in this forum seem to simply come from not reading the manual and then spending the time to get to know this beast!

Free software from Behringer lets you really dig deep into the configuartions too.

My Big Complaint? I sure wish the included footswitch had more functionality - you can access the tuner and toggle between the 5 pre-sets of the bank you're in....and that's it.

It would be nice to be able to access the "Tap" function and toggle up and down the 25 banks.

Not crazy about the abundence of plastic parts.

Still - must give this a 9 due to the OUTRAGEOUS value this amp represents.

The sounds / variety of tones out this amp are amazing!

I play primarily strats and teles.

I play rock, blues, fusion

MANY useable models here - I especially like the Fender Black Twin and JCM 800 models for clean sounds and the Boogie IIc & Soldano model for overdriven sounds

Some real tonal beauties are here - especilly good is the "clean to just starting to break up sounds" You can tweak the presence just right to add some tube like shimmer...

Tone controls are parametric (they boost AND cut) so bear this in mind if you are messing around with say a Fender Tweed model that originally had NO tone control to begin with!

Again - RTFM!!!

Little Tips...

You can adjust the noise gate (Q - Why do my notes die out A - The noise gate is kicking on, crank it down!)

Q - Can it be louder?

A - You can adjust the pick-up input sensitivity - Strat sounds too quiet or Humbuckers too wooley - adjust it!

Gain Structure - You can select a much higher volume / gain structure for playing live.

Compressor adds a tone of gain too

I am giving it a 9 in this category with the understanding that we are looking at cost to performance.

Does this $ 250 amp sound like each boutique amp it models? Of course not - But it sure puts you close to the various tonal neighborhoods and records pretty convincingly.

So far, so good...2 years - no problems.

Build is a little suspect - lots of plastic parts, probably notthe amp you'd take on a world tour...But again - cost to value is amazing.

I have been playing for 20+ years.

I am an amp collector and own a variety of amps including a couple of Fenders, a Carvin Nomad, a couple of Peaveys, a Seymour Duncan "convertible" and a Ampeg Reverb Rocket.

I orignally bought this since I was really digging on my V-AMP 2 as a headphone amp / recording tool and wanted to try some of the sounds live.

Light Weight and self contained were additional considerations.

I would absolutely buy this amp again!

I play the classic rock music of from 60's to the 90's, and I'm pleased.
I think the amp modells and the cabinet simulations are amazing, but the effects too! But I only use the auto-wah, and delay. The other effects are not important for me.
The power is enough I think. We rehearse not so loud with my band.
2 weeks ago was our first concert, and many people said, that it had a perfect tube sound! I've used the popular "Brit Hi-Gain" (Marshall JCM 800 simulation)with my Squier Standard FAT Stratocaster, and it was awesome!

My favourite amp modells are : Brit Hi-gain,American Blues,Californian Drive,Californian Clean and Black Twin. Some of the clean channels are distorted on at high gain but it's natural I think, just like in tube amps.
The distorted sounds are amazing, this is the best thing in this V-AMP I think. I can't hear any digital color! Perfect! I use humbucker and single coils too, but the clean sounds should be better, they're not so powerful.

I started play guitar 4 years ago. I had a little 30W dean markley amlifier before this. If stolen...maybe yes,if I don't have enough money to buy a tube amp. I love it for the perfect simulations,but I don't like that the clean sounds are not so brilliant. Little bit..digital.Maybe the sample rate is low (31.250 KhZ).

I've tried some of the Line6 spider series but they're horrible I think..too many treble..and the distortion's are bad jokes.

An expression pedal..yes I need it to change the modulation,and to use the wah effect manual.But I will buy a CryBaby next week.

I think this is the best amplifier in this price catogory. It's VERY VERY cheap...for it's quality!

This is the swiss-army knife of amps. Too many features for most players...but that can be a good thing.

I've owned two LX112's and one LX210 for around a year now. First things first, tighten ALL screws on this guy! If you don't, chances are it will sound like it's gonna explode when you crank her up. The build quality is decent for the price....meaning that out of 3 of these one has a big dent on the bottom appearing as if it was dropped. Two had pretty big tears in the covering material, both in places that are hard to notice...on the bottom of the amp. All amps were functional though.

Bottom line, if you want a tube sound...then buy a tube amp. DUH! If you want the sound of a JCM800, then buy a JCM800. But the sounds out of these beasts are very usable. You MUST spend the time to learn how to use it though.

There is a delay when switching between amp-types. Answer...simple, use the same amp when you need instant switching. Just set them up with different gain settings and you'll be good to go.

The other major problem as noted elsewhere....these are not rated at RMS. Behringer lists them as 120 watts stereo/ 70 watts mono. But don't think that you will be as loud as a 100 watt RMS amplifier...because it won't be. It's loud enough for me though, especially running in stereo through an 4x12 cabinet. Mic the amp, or go direct if you need the monster volumes.

I would NOT use it without a back up. That's just common sense with ANY amp.

This is plastic fantastic..
Skip the hi gain pre amps, and the cab simulators.. run it in L1 mode, put a Huges&Kettner Warp Factor in front of it, using the California Clean mode.. and discover real Rammstein-Recto sound.
The effects are OK. This is an amp that covers a lot. WORK WITH IT, and you'll be surprised. I use this mainly in a studio, it's fabulos when mic'ed up. Loud enough for small gigs, sounds awesome through a PA.

Recto or clean, the V-Ampire delivers. Must be tweaked, none of the pre sets are useable out of the box IMHO. Use your ear, and tweak some more. I have several Ibanez guitars, RG ones equipped with stock V7 pick ups, and down. But my fav. is a real cheapo (Fat Strat) Tradition, which beats most of the Strats I have tried in my life. I've been playing on/off since 1978.

It is not build for road use. But, I'd say, let it be a combo! The Jensen 12 " is fab. Sounds much like the Jensen speakers of old Gibson combos, even though they are hard to compare. Gibson combos (the old good ones, were strictly tube driven) At first (when connecting it to a 4*12 cab) it sounds nice, but then, switching back and forth, I came to the conclusion, (depending of the job also) that this plastic thing, sounds best (great, infact) as the combo it is.
Once again, it is amazing in the studio, tapped w. microphone.

I have a Peavey 30, a Crate 5 Wattr. Had, Marshalls, MSB F-50. etc.
This one covers them all. For the buck, this is incredible.

I think that this is an extremely brilliant amp, from it's sound quality to its effects.
And ive played on a couple million amps and this has been one of the best that i have played it even compares to some of the many marshalls that i myself have played on.

The amps clean sound is brilliant you can play loads of different type of stuff from Nirvana to Bryan Adams and to stuff like The who.
But to get this amp's brilliant distortion sounds i set my amp on clean and use my distortion pedal (Boss Hyper Metal) To get an awesome sound but you must fiddle around with the amps eq's before it starts sounding good it took me quite a while to get the full potential of my amp.

I have never had a problem nor have i heard of anyone having probles with this amp.

I haven't been playing guitar in particular for long but i have been involved with sound tech and doing recordings for varios bands/artists. And i have found on all the amps that i have heard and played on this is an extremely good buy

I play funk. i dont need a lot of gain, but this amp still does have nice gain options. theres a set of eq, low mid high, gain, volume. in EDIT mode, theres another set of eqs and a gain mode. think of the eqs and gain selection in EDIT as the eq of your guitar so to speak and not the voice of the amp, and the gain as an output compressor. these controls help you to work with your guitars voice to attain your sound, after youve tweaked your amps voice. models, as far as amps go, theres a good selection. i doubt they sound anything like they say they are suposed to (im not experienced there), but the selection is nice. others will say the same, PLAY THIS IN L2 MODE!!! it gives it really nice tube character (again not the same, but id say as close as it gets for the type of amp it is, and for the bargain) read your manual. speaker outs, so you can carry this thing around, or hook up to make a very inexpensive and rewarding stack.

Effects, i do not like. only ones i put to use are the compressor, delays and, well thats it.reverb types on this thing are great. im pleased with the tone of this amp for the price. first amp, have had it for 2 years, and in the nect few year i will get into the all tube amp. for now im satisfied, as are all the other kids with their stupid line 6 spiders and crates. they love to jam through my setup, that was half the price of theirs.

Fantastic value, READ the manual to get the fullest out of it and this inexepenisve starter amp will satisfy you all the way.

Not quite my Mesa through a Recto; it does sound close recorded though. You MUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH AMP EFFECTS and GAIN to get what sounds good to you; years of experience are irrelevant. SOUND ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE will get you there with THIS AMP.

This amp has great features, the problem is it made of cheap parts that make the amp sound terrible!

Tried everything from a Les Paul to a Tele, The sound just got worse!

Been playing for 40 years. I may lose it myself.

Digital Modeling Amp, 125 memory banks, 5 channels per bank, 12" jensen speaker, 32 simulated amps, 15 simulated speaker cabs, 16 effects + reverb, channel swapping pedal inlcuded, headphone jack. that pretty well covers it. Can't really complain about the number of features, but the quality is questionable. I'm gonna go with 8 because yeah it does have a lot of bells and whistles. But it's a quantity over quality thing.

Currently I'm using an Ibanez sz 320, w/ emg 81, 85 active pick ups in the bridge and neck respectively. I hate to bash my own amp but honestly this amp's sound quality is lacking on most of the amp models, it just doesn't sound good enough. On a lighter note the clean channels sound alright, compared to the distorted ones. The Mesa Boogie (rectified head and rectified high gain) settings sound bad on any guitar. I realize it's not suppose to sound amazing in this price range but wow, some settings should be avoided like the plague. I have sort of a love hate relationship with this amp sometimes it sounds good to me, sometimes it's sounds so hurtin' i don't even wanna pick up my guitar. I'm gonna award four points b/c I like some of the clean channels and the effects may not be unreal but if you've got the patience you can create some cool sounds.

Amazingly this amp hasn't broken down or had any issues in the year and a half I've owned it. But i know sooner or later an LED will go out or something will stop working. The build quality is well, ok i guess. But by looking at it you can tell it wasn't meant for abuse. Everthing is plastic, that pretty much says it all. I wouldn't gig with this I don't trust it, plus with effects and cab sims...etc volume drops substantially. One other thing, because i'm lazy I put wheels on it, as I was drilling into it i swear to god the wood used to build it was particle board or some other low grade type of plywood. Until I have an issue I'll go with 9, I know construction ain't the highest quality but it hasn't broken yet.

For 300 bucks and oh so many features I can't complain other than the sound quality, but no one should expect eye watering sound quality from something like this. Some effects are useless, some amp models are useless. But you know what I'm never going to use them all anyhow, I have a metal guitar with emg pickups so i only use about four channels. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't buy this amp again, I would hold out and get a decently priced tube amp, but for a first amp the V-amp is good because it has so many sound altering options, so if you're unsure of what music style you wanna play you can't really go wrong without breaking the bank.

The most versatile amp I've found and have used many different.
Used for practice & gigs in bars with audiences from 50 to 500 people.

Used with Gibson L.P. custom Strat with emg's Strat w/ paf.
Playing classic rock from the 1960's to the 1990's.
It is very quiet & the noise gate works quite well.
The amp is capable of a VERY wide range of sounds from crystal clean
to overdrive mayhem all available to tweak with descent quality effects to your. hearts content.

It let me down at the last gig. If the internal cmos battery becomes discharged or loose goodbye settings, only garbled nonsense remains.
I will implement an upgrade, but am hesitant to outline it here as the same reviewers who don't like the amp will probably damage theirs due to lack of understanding. It is strange this is not covered in the manual. The amp cabinetry is sufficiently heavy
but the potentiometers are not road quality, (plastic shafts). I built an 1/8" plywood cover to transport & has worked like a charm.

I have called Behringer in Calif. and they were very helpful sending
new chips for free when required, very quickly.

I have been playing for 40 years. Have owned all types of guitars & amps. Always searching for the best sounds to emulate the wide range of material we do. I use it with the fcb1010 midi controller on stage
with good results. I read all the manuals, downloaded the free setup software (very nice) gone to user groups, in other words have done the homework. I have not experienced the time lag others have on switching. I can say from experience that it is loud enough for gigs of up to 500 when set up properly, but just barely. I run the master at least 3/4. It volume seems to not increase much at 1/4 to 3/4 and then increases a lot at 3/4 +. The cleaner sounds are weaker than the overdriven ones, but this can be helped with the compressor with its added gain. WE have a hard hitting 220 lb. double bass playing drummer & the other guys hear me better than when using the 4x12/ tsl setup. No doubt this is because of the Vampire's open back design & single 12" spkr being driven 4x as hard as a 4x12. The foot controller needed a new chip installed in it before it worked properly & has now been Ok for almost 2 years. I couldn't be without this thing. It is my sound(s) now. I use too many presets but really enjoy sounding exactly like the originals. The biggest shortcoming is the wah, using the pedal. I have tried everything but it just doesn't sound good. I substituted the autowah where possible which is better. The Vampire is less costly than the competition. It is designed in Germany & made in China. Yes I know, theres something about that, But LISTEN with your ears, not your ego & you wont believe what is available now for a total $425.00+ IT IS THE BEST AMPLIFIER VALUE THAT I HAVE FOUND IN 40 YEARS. It weighs about 1/5 of the last setup (racks etc.) and I really like it. Maybe I should put the jensen 12 alone in a 4x12 cab. & fit the vampire guts into a marshall head Cab........... No I dont think so. This modeling stuff
is what the fuzz & wah were in 1965. (My hiwatt & Marshall amps are
gathering dust) I guess I'll save them for when we play Masison Square Garden........... OK That won't happen either..........

Just try to use, for example, a Behringer MIC200 tube mic preamp (valve setting, low cut engaged, minimum gain, volume to reach "0" in the preamp's meter) plugged in the pre DSP fx loop of the vampire.
This can make an huge difference.Better and live cleans, no clipping (If the MIC200 is well tuned)..Distortions stay great....
It's a shame, the delay (and stupid sound) bettween patches..

Well, after some time, the preamp selector switch is DEAD...now, to use some diferent preamp I have to search a patch that has the desired preamp... That's a pain in the arse...the rest is fine

Take all the amps (tube and solid state) you have collected, all your footpedals, and cabinets.

Write software to simulate the amp circuitry, effects pedals, and cabinets.

Build an all digital amp amp with only one analog control (power amp master volume). Build digital inputs (volume, tone, amp select, etc) for all the other controls. Add a Jensen 12" speaker for good tone.

Add headphones output, recording and PA outputs, etc.

Now you have the LX1-112 design. Minimal analog, all digital domain processing to simulate the classic amp tones, effects, and speaker cabs.

This amp is good for all styles of amplified (electric) guitar, given the fact that it can reproduce the tone of most any well-known amp produced.

Treat it like you would your instrument, and it should last a long time. Plastic parts are used for cost reduction, and the 'pots' (look like digital input knobs not real pots) are probably not very easy to find as a spare part ... except maybe through Behringer customer service.

Behringer USA is very friendly and helpful, even with questions.

I have never had a problem needing actual repairs or support, however.

If stolen or lost, I would buy another.

Unless that happens, I will just be one of the first to buy the next generation digital modeling combo from Behringer. Maybe by then they will have added USB/PC (direct digital) recording support and tube tone 'morphing' controls such as those found in Dr Z. MazJr and Peavey Valveking amps.

This unit was cleary designed by and evaluated (for usability) by guitarists (who also have technically demonstrated they are in the top tier of audio engineering talent).

I'll give this unit a 9 only because I there's always room for improvement. Maybe the USB and 'tone morphing' controls should be open and extensible (downloadable) upgrades to the amp?

If so, then we would have an undisputed 10.

Best in Class features, no need to elaborate as others have covered the vast array of features.

The only missing feature is USB direct digital output for recording (wait for the next model, I guess).

I would rate '10' it USB capability was available today.

Everything a working guitaris needs (and covered in the other reviews).

One caveot, however. Make sure you audition the amp, not the presets. The factory presets don't do justice to either the clean or gain amp models.

For single coils, make sure your adjust the 'configuration gain stage'. You do this by simultaneously selecting 'D & E' (config mode), then using 'tap' and 'gain' to increase the input gain stage globally. Just make sure the clip led isn't going on too often, or you will have too much gain.

From my experience, this is the #1 reason why folks think the amp has insufficient volume (they are set up with a factory-default low gain, weak pickups, and a large S/N ratio, which makes them think the amp has no volume!).

'9' vs. '10' becaus this usability tip is not noted by the majority of folks who audition the amp ... too bad, because it shoudln't be a reason NOT to buy the amp. The factory default presents probably should use a little compression and kick up the gain to be compatible with many weaker single coil pickups.

I have owned mine for over a year, and use it (hard) daily. It stands up to contstant use. Some plastic parts were used to reduce cost, but that shouldn't deter you from using the amp. Just take care of it like you would any recording gear or guitar and you should be ok. Why should we have to build amps like a tank? If you need to buy a gigging case for it.

Good customer support, as I have talked with them for other product info, and Behringer has been very responsive.

Overall, this is a 10. I'll buy another when USB is part of the package.

Not the only choice out there, but maybe one of the best and most versitile guitar amps made today. Certainly a best value or best buy when evaluated or auditioned properly.

I have owned this amp for about a year. I love it but I haven't owned a lot of amps to compare it to.
Great amp modeling, hate the speaker sims. Power is okay, better if you hook up to another cab and run the full 100 watts.

I use an Epi LP Custom and have no complaints on sound.
I only use about 8 sounds total. Clean, Slight Distortion and really distorted on one channel bank. Clean, Phased out clean, and spacey distortion on another channel.
My advice is... Play and listen to all the presets, pitch the ones you don't like, and tweak the ones you do then save them on one bank for use (write it down).
Play with the amp simulations, they're great. I use my amp only on L2 mode for live playing. I also run mine thru our Alesis PA with powered subs (sounds awesome).

I haven't had any problems over this year of fairly heavy use (everyday).

I give this a 7 because I sent en email about the clip light being lit almost all the time when playing hard. They commented that the clip light indicates the INCOMING signal, meaning I should turn my guitar down in order not to lose the dynamics of my Epi LP Pickups.

I got mine on Ebay for an unbelievable $100 bucks off. There is no problem with it and everything was intact, no scratches.
I would buy another if this one is stolen since it was so low-priced. Although by then I will have more moeny to blow and may go with a higher priced Fender Frontman 65 or higher...

Clean sounds are not the best.Fender should not be worried just yet.
Distortion is much better. Boogie amp model is great for rock & metal.
Amp is not noisy at all.

Seems solid. Nothing broken yet.

If you want alot of options without spending $1000.00 this is a good amp. It's not a Marshall JCM800 or a Fender '65 Twin, but you can get some good sounds out of it.

It has plenty of features for $250. I have some Fender and Peavey amps
This thing is about as loud as my Peavey Delta Blues, with a crap pot more features. I like them both.

It has a lot of sounds.
You got to read the manual before you try it.
It can get loud enough to gig with if you set the master input jack level to match your pickups.
I play a Nashville Tele thru it. I use the L2 mode, but I also like the S3 mode also.

Looks good and heavy to me. No problems yet, but too soon to tell.

I been gigging a long, long, long, time. I bought this to see what it was like. I had 45 days to return it, so why not. I hated it until I read the manual. Now I gig with it. Sounds great!

This is a brand new LX112 V-ampire. I played with it in my local guitar shop for about 10 minutes and knew I wanted it. It has the V-amp Pro built in, and it has a 12 inch, 50 watt Jensen speaker. Perfect for a small gig or room practicing, and if you're playing at a larger gig you can hook it up to the PA or to other amps. L2 mode is made for live playing, and it seems much louder.

Plenty of effects. You can go from screaming blues, to soft jazz, to rumbling metal. Also has a great and accurate tuner.

I have a Dillion DL600GT with P90s in it. I have the settings on the amp as followed:

I get a nice SRV tone out of it on those settings. However, I must say the clean sounds are a bit disappointing. It has a Squier 10 watt I picked up for about $15 hooked up to it, and a few Magnavox speakers I found. Sounds great.

I've taken it to one gig, and several traveling practices, still looks brand new. I've sat, stood, and had stuff thrown at it and it still seems pretty solid.

I've played for about 3 years, and this is my favorite yet. Really because of the built in V-amp Pro. Even so, just for the sake of trying new things, I wouldn't buy this amp if it were stolen or lost. I'd want to try out new things.

well...this amp is still great BUT..I use it live and the switching delay sucks big time!
I have made a new setup and now is working fine..if you have a multi fx pedalboard it might work well with you..

This is a follow-up review...

We all know the features, and we all know the amp is packed with them.

I own three Ibanez talman electrics. One with the three lipstick tube pickups, one with Gibson P-90's, and another with the stock Ibanez Humbuckers (which I plan to replace soon).

My musical style, as noted in my previous reviews, is limited to blues, folk/rock, pop, and country/rock. This amp is OK for these. I have owned this amp for about two years and some change and I am not as satisfied with it now as I was when I first bought it. This is probably due to my change in aural taste and a more refined sense of tone.

This is a perfect amp for someone on a budget who just loves to have all kinds of options. BUT after playing a few tube amps (peave classic 30, delta blues and a whole slew of Fenders) I am convinced that the digital world is not for me.

No big problems, did lose two of the control nobs. You have to baby this amp...it WILL break!

I've been playing for about 14 years..I mentioned my guitars earlier. I also own a recently acquired Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, a Lowden O-25 acoustic, and a whole bunch of pedals that have been out of comisson since I've had the behringer. (I'm so glad I've got them back)

This V-AMPIRE amp I purchased was made in 2004, and before buying it I considered a few other modeling amps. I pretty much play Classic Rock, Metal & Blues, and this amp can't be beat for features in comparison to cost. I am a hobbyist and guitar playing is relaxing to me, but I do not compromise my sound with cheap items. Believe you me, this is NOT a cheap amp.

I use an Agile AL-2500 Les Paul copy with just the stock pickups when I use this amp, and the sound is sweet. I do agree with other users, when they say to really coax the sound out of the Jensen speaker, you need to set this on L2 mode. The amp is a top performer in music ranging from classics like Cream, to today's groups like System Of A Down and even Chicago Blues. It is by no means noisy and I don't hear a rattle like others do. I like the fact that I can change the presets to the tones I play, but it would have been nice if the included foot pedal allowed a guitarist to scroll through all the presets, and not just the memory banks. All in all, the variety of sounds are simply astounding.

I don't do gigs, so I am not worried about doing any damage to the amp. But if I was to do a performance, I would not hesitate to use this amp.

I haven't had to contact Behringer's customer service, but just from their company reputation, I don't forsee any problems in the future.

I have been playing guitar on and off for about the past 7 years, and I have had the chance to use and even sometimes own so-called "Better" brand name amps, but I can honestly say that the V-Ampire is simply the best sounding amp I have had the pleasure to own and use. Like I said before, I just wish that the foot pedal was more versatile, but for the price and sound quality, this amp is hands above the others. Line 6 could learn a few things from Behringer in amp making!

God forbid, if this amp was ever stolen, I would buy another of this same model faster than Eric Clapton plays Layla!

The guy selling this amp to me in the shop said it basically had 125 channels put into 25 banks (5 channels in each bank) and theres a great metal footswitch for switching channels.

it says its 120 i think that only when you have an extra cabinet (60x60 watts)

Im using this amp with an Epi Explorer and a cheap guitar made buy behringer ( i bought the behringer starter pack)

both sound really good through this amp. The cheap single coils on the behringer guitar go extremely well with this amp, you can get really trashy distorion if you muck about enough.

The Explorer also sounds great through this amp!

But you need to play about with the amp for a while before you can get a great sound.

Overall this amp is amazing

it is extremely versatile and so much better than the Line 6 Spider series.

If it were stolen i would instantly get a new one.

Just a note...If you play the Vampire direct to the mixer through the XLR outs (L2 mode) don't let the sound guy had gain in your channel in the mixer..they must control your sound level only with the fader with the gain in the mixer set to zero. If the sound guy puts the gain just at less than middle your distortions will suck through the PA...and that's a shame cause the Vampire can make wonderful distortions. That happened to me...my distortions through the PA and the monitors sounded like shit! Awfull! Beware!

Other than that, Vampire is Great...don't forget the L2 mode!

ive seen a few people give bad reports on this just because they didnt read the manual properly, and i just wanna rectify this for the sake of prospective buyers.

first issue: the amp isnt as loud as its competition. why? because it only runs at 70watts, not 120 (mines the 2x60, the 2x50 i expect runs at 50 or 60) why does it only run at 70watts? well ive only got opinion, not truth, but id say because RUNNING 120 WATTS THROUGH A SINGLE SPEAKER IS STUPID! you would have 2 buy a speaker that costs more than the amp 2 make it sound clear at 120 watts. instead, behringer have been very smart and made an extreamly versatile amp. if you dont need 120 watts, you can just take the small combo and everything you need is contained within it. if you need 2 play loud, the amp can be plugged into external speakers, run them at 120 watts, and even at 2x60 in stereo. thats enough power even to run a quad box, most heads these days are only 100 watts anyway.

second issue: delay time when switching patches. READ THE FRIGGIN MANUAL MORON!!! PUT IT IN L2 MODE!

third issue: complaints about the sound of the amp. some say the power amp cuts the highs, others say it cuts the mids and lows, still others say it reduces quality of the lows. well, as i am not them and im not playing their amp, i cant tell you for sure, but mabey they have a speaker box setting that is DESIGNED to change the sound in that way. as other people have said, the speaker simulation is great for the line outs, for recording or directly inputting into PA, but if you havent noticed this amp has its own speaker, so you dont need speaker simulations do you? turn em off and learn how 2 EQ ur guitar, and mabey then u might get a decent sound. learning how to acutally control the settings on this amp LOGICALLY will also address such problems as breaking up sustain on distortions and loss of clarity. all amps sound crap if you dont know your stuff, why should this be any different.

final issue: effects. sure they arent great, but guess what? this is a modelling amp, not an effects unit. the effects are just there to compliment the amp modeler, and for beginners/cheapos who cant afford proper effects processors. and who can blame em? you can pay over $350 (AU) for a single chorus pedal. this amp alone costs $600 rrp (AU). if you bought it expecting jaw-dropping perfect effects, then you arent too smart. if you want high quality effects then you need the money to pay for em, buy yourself a stompbox or 2 or even a multi effects processor. using a Boss GT-6 or similar is a great idea because you can use the midi on the GT-6 to switch patches on the V-ampire. this way as you switch patches on the GT-6 the V-ampire switches to the corresponding amp patch.

just an additional few comments of my own:
the 125 preset patches is more than anyone could practically use, its awesome. you can save all your EQ and Amp settings and recall em easy. also, unlike other products with digital processing and memory such as Boss ME-50 and Line 6 POD etc, which all use analoge dials, the behringer products use digital dials. what does this mean? it means that when you recall settings, the LEDs on the dials move to their saved position so you can see where they are and change them easily. this is a distinct advantage over analogue dials, which dont move (unless you get motorised ones- the digital way is far cheaper). sure it does have its disadvantages, in that you only have 17 positions, but thats close enough for most people, and if u wanna be THAT particular about your sound, download the free patch program from the behringer website. it takes like 5 minutes to download and install, and you can adjust the levels at 128 intervals (0-127). you can also access a few extra parameter controls that behringer didnt put on the actual amp probably just because they arent needed so why waste the money, this is a cheap amp after all. The software is also great because you have unlimited storage of patches. if 125

For all of you who complain about the delay in switiching amp models:

Switch to the L2 Mode (look in your manual), this reduces the delay and (IMHO) sounds better, cuz the cabinet sim is disabled, but the analog 4x12er Sim (XLR) is still enabled.

Sounds very nice without the cab sim, i use a selfmade 2x12er Cab with Eminence GB12 (Greenback Copy) and V12 (Vintage 30 Copy) and a Ibanez AXS-32, warm clean sounds and also fat distortion.

Switch to L2 Mode, don't ask, DO IT!

Amp Simulations: Vox, Boogie, Fender, including Hi-Gain over drive and vintange crunch.

Midi interface and effects such as a phaser and spring reverbs.

Great for playing live with that studio polished sound.

I'm using an early 90's Fender USA Ultra and a Gibson Les Paul Custom. Sounds fantastic with both.

I've owned this amp for 6 months with no problems -none at all. I have dis-assembled it though and the hardware is cheap; the screws strip easily and the grill cloth is annoyingly wrinkled.

I've been play off and on for 20 years. Honestly, this amp sounds great. If you have an ear for tone, you can find great sounds with this box. The speaker should be replaced though in order to appreciate what the amp/sim can deliver. I suggest a high power speake designed to reproduce sounds loud and clear as the character of the sound is being handled by the processor itself.

Ton's of stuff is hidden in this sucker. There are so many way's to recored,play live, or anything you want to do except the loop in&out. It's stupid actually! The effect's loop is before the preamp, If your one of those guitaris that depend on having a eq pedal after the distortion your shit outa luck! The only difference in using the loop vs. running the pedal in front of the amp is having another cord to use the loop. The speaker suck's so i replaced it with a Jensen c12n.

This is the BEST, and mean the BEST recording amp out there right now. It is very quiet. I have seen a lot of complaint's on things that you can change, it's just hard to find some of these problems becuase the manual sucks! Distortions are great and amp sim.(depending on what out jack you use) kicks ass. The effects are good if you don't need to be anal about the setting's, they are sorta limited.

Live play, Don't even think about it, I have a 40watt S/S that's louder than this thing. Plus the delay when changing patches is worst i have ever seen. You will hear total silence for 1.5 sec. and that may be understated.

Junk! I have not moved it around and have already managed to break one knob and the input jack!

How would you rate an amp that's built out of toothpicks and plastic. It has the worst delay when changing patches, and sound's like crap live, but has the best direct recording feature's that you have ever seen! I haven't tried to run it through my power amp to drive my cab, but if it sounds kick ass then i have find a way around the delay in the patch changes.

Lots of features, especially with a MIDI pedal. I wish it had a noise gate that worked.

Epi LP with JB & '59, Ibanez with Dimarzio SD, Carvin with M22SD. This amp is noisy. I returned the first one and the second sucked a little less, so I kept it. Returns are a pain. I had to buy a Boss NS2 noise gate and good cables to get rid of the noise. Everything else sounds good to me, and my interventions worked. For the noise I rate this category a 1/10. There's no excuse for noisy modeling amps out of the box anymore. When the noise issue was dealt with, I was VERY pleased. Crushing distortion and delicate clean sounds. Don't use speaker modeling for live use. Use L2 and it's all good.

I've heard stories...That's why I fixed it myself.

I would rate at a 9 if not for the noise (TWICE IN A ROW). I will not deal with Behringer again. Their quality is too inconsistent. My brother has two different Behringer amps that work and sound great. I got a dud right off the bat and a barely keepable replacement.

Ok I'm wrong, I earlier gave the V-ampire a mediocre review based on my comparison to a Line 6 POD and have since changed my mind. I think this thing is better then a pod and can hold its own to a flextone 3 just by its unique character of sound. The mistake I made when Assessing this amp was that I wasnt hearing the high energy thrust I heard from the line 6 products I mentioned. Nevertheless the distortions were very good however it lacked the energetic presence I was looking for. Being the dumb guitar player I was at the time I blamed it on this Amp however, since then I have grown as a guitar player and began strumming my strings harder like a real man should rather then lightly like a bitch who gently eats out her lesbo lover. My word of advice to all you intermediate players out there is to learn the finer points of guitar technique and let it all hang out and then you can trully see what your monster can do.

I've been playing for 5 years and this thing makes me want to play. I've been creating new licks and notes that I wasnt inspired to do with other amps and pedals I had. I think the trick with the V-ampire which draws inspiration to play is it's hidden delay on each amp model which makes it sound tube like. I am able to get more richness and coloring out of my leads then with any other thing I used. I should also mention that I'm playing through a cheap ass Kramer focus (which is good sounding guitar for its price but, by know means has the frequency to generate goood high gain) yet and I'm able make it sound like a metal monster, blues screamer, and other ideal sounds from other musical genres.

Brand new 2005 V-Ampire. I play blues and classic rock mostly. Being full-on digital, this amp is plenty versatile. It has pretty much any feature you can imagine: 32 amp models, digital effects, cab sims, etc. I got it for practice, but hooked up to an extra 2x12 Univox cabinet I had laying around and making sure it's in "L2" mode (very important!) makes this thing plenty loud. I could gig with it.

I do wish you could access ALL of the programmable features without hooking it up to MIDI though.

I have some really nice playing guitars: Gibson LP Custom, Custom Shop Clapton Strat, Peavey Reactor - and wanted an arsenal of amps to go with them. A modeling amp made perfect sense. The V-ampire has the most sims and features for the $$ so I went for that.

IMO, some simulations are very convincing: The Marshall's in particular sound good to me. Others, like the Vox's, don't seem to make much sense. Any real-Vox I've heard has been very bright, but the sim is really muddy. No problem though, just don't use the Vox Sims! It also does a bunch of amps that I've never heard in real-life (Matchless, Dumble) so the sonic possibilities are nearly endless.

One thing the amp does really, really well is the "slightly distorted" bluesy sound. Love it. You just can't get it with a standard SS amp/pedal combination; and at any volume level with the V-Ampire. Brutal distortion is, well, brutal distortion. You can get the distortion so crazy on this amp that it will feedback at barely-able-to-hear it volume.

Tube snobs will remain tube snobs regardless of what the sounds are like, but I'm having a great time with it! I'll give it an 8 for sound. You do need a lot of time on your hands to tweak it though.

It seems dependable enough. I'd gig with it. It's still really new though.

I've been playing 30+ years (as a bass player as well) so I own a SS bass amp head and 2x15 cab. I really needed something for guitar. This really fit the bill. I love the flexibility. It's not the easiest thing to program though and takes a TON of tweaking. Eventually, you should be able to get it to do exactly what you want.

The controls DON'T behave like analog controls; for instance, turning the reverb up won't make the overall signal louder, but changes the dry/wet ratio. It's not really a problem, just something you need to get used to.

All-in-all a really good, fun amp. I definitely recommend it for someone thinking about trying the digital amp-sim world. You just can't beat the price!

Just wanted to address a problem that a lot of people encounter with Behringer V-Amps/V-Ampires, etc., namely the delay in switching presets. I don't own a V-Ampire, but own a V-Amp2 and use it live very effectively. The delay you hear when switching presets only occurs when you change AMP MODELS. So, changing from a clean Fender Twin setting to a hi-gain ENGL setting will give you a delay. I find that I can get away with using the same amp setting throughout a song, just using different gain settings when I need a boost. Yeah, I know it may not enable you to go from a super sparkly clean to a devil's sphicter distortion level, but it works for me and hopefully this'll help some of you who already own the equipment and are frustrated.

Buy one fast!

This is a much meligned, stereo, digital modeling amp, with, thirty or so amp types available, digital effects, and one-hundred and twenty-five channels, to store presets! It has an effects loop, direct out, tuner and headphone jack.

It would be difficult to conceive of a type of music it couldn't have a stab at, whether you would like the result depends on how picky you want to be with an amp you can pick up for $250.00.
It has many features I don't use, but you may, so good.

I use a nice custom built strat type guitar, kinman pickups. This has become my Swiss-army knife amp. Casuals, jazz gigs, pit bands, caberet, church. It is strangely liberating to show up at a gig with a guitar, a strap, a cable and a guitar, and be able to cover any situation. I get alot of smiles from band members when I use this amp.

But you need to do your homework! These amps can sound absoulutly wretched! Read some of the other reviews on here and you will find out! These reviewers, I am convinced didn't set up the amp correctly. The first time you use this amp, it is not a plug in and play situation.

As others on here have said, you need to turn the speaker simulation off, but you also need to be very careful about the way you set your input levels. My guitar is hardly a high ouput shred monster, but it still overloaded the front end of the amp (this is not a good thing in digital amps), after I set the input level so the warning led never came on, the amp sounded alot better.

And what alot of sounds there are! For my "commercial" playing I have found that I commonly use five sounds, Clean and dry rhythm sound, a clean sound with delay and a touch of chorus for pads and "washes", a rolling stonesish overdriven rhythm sound with a touch of spring reverb, a distorted lead sound and a clean echoey hank-marvin-ish tone for clean melodic stuff.

Previously this meant carrying two amps and a pedalboard the size of Belgium; all very expensive stuff too, I was carting around about $10000 of gear to gigs that were paying less than $200! In addition to being a gutarist therefore, I had become not only a heavyweight lifting champion, but also an expert tap dancer, as I changed pedal and amp settings going from "Walk Don't Run" to "Highway to Hell".
No fun, but I sounded great.

Now, as I said, I show up with this amp. I use the Custom Clean Roland sound for funk, Fender for Country, R'n'B and early rock'n'roll, British Class A for Hank (this is the least convincing of the bunch, I'm working on it) and the Marshall and Rectified sounds for rock (you can get a pretty good Brian May on this amp, but don't use the Vox settings - no treble boost, use the Boogie instead). All of these sounds can be controlled from the volume knob on the guitar quite effectively, distorted sounds clean up (sometimes not as much as you would like) and clean sounds thin out in musical ways.

It has quite alot of insane metal sounds too, I don't care for them much, but you may, frankly I'm not qualified to judge them. The fuzz box one is fun.

I am happy to say I am selling all that old gear (my old Budda wah-wah, which I only bought to play disco, cost as much as this amp). Does the v-ampire sound as good? No. But not by much, and it is a alot friendlier on the back, the wallet and the much less stressfull to use. Also, it enables you to set up banks of less utilized tones. Now, if I play "Walk Don't Run" and then play "Apache" (this has never actually happened, you understand) my surf sound is different to my Hank Marvin (what can I say, I'm anal).

I have never found it to be not loud enough, my theory has always been the lead stuff should be louder than an un-miked drummer, the the rhythm stuff about the same, or a little less, than an unimiked drummer (tnis way the sound guy doesn't need to worry too much about balancing the band, just making the vocalist heard, and cranking the sound to a venue-appropriate volume). However, with a hairy rock'n'roll drummer, the v-ampire would either need to be miked or use an extra speaker, or (shock horror) you could take a D.I. out of the back. I have had surprisingly good results with this, try it you may like it! Bass players have done it for years!

Ok, now the gripes, there has to be some. The effects tend toward the "tasteful", sometimes you want a really obnoxious "Keep Yourself Alive" type flange for example, this amp wont

It does have a spot of that "built by machine/and or non-unionised third-world-workshop" feel to it (This is entirely prejudicial by the way, I don't know how they are made). So I flight cased it, never let me down yet, but at this price I think I'll buy a backup (with the money I'll get for my old chorus pedal perhaps).

Fantastic value indeed. I still keep some of my older gear, for when I'm being an "artist", I have an old sixties tube amp, a tube screamer, the old copicat. It will never replace these items, but perhaps the next model will....

I'd replace it in a heartbeat.

I love the convenience, the price, the tone is not as good as my old setup, but I think I'm the only one that notices. I wish it was cooler, and didn't have such a lame name....

I compared this to the Line-6 stuff, and that sounds great too, some of the sounds are better, some worse, but pound for pound, this amp is more versitile, and has more presets (too may in fact!)

I wish it had a copicat preset, sometimes I wish the effects could be less pleasant.

The best analogy of the sound is this: When the V-Ampire is pointing at your head it sounds like a real valve or solidstate amp does when it is pointing at your feet. This is on L2 mode, even with global treble tweaked up.

This is nothing to do with modelling technology, the issue is the poweramp - yes, the poweramp is lacking in the volume the specs suggest, but I am talking frequency response. The poweramp is damping all the high freqencies. Imagine you take your hi-fi and roll off all the treble, this is what comes out of the poweramp to the speakers. People say guitars are a mid range instrument but stealing all the treble above 5/6Khz is ridiculous! Guitars have lots of freqencies above this. This poweramp rolloff is the same for Line6's new amps (FlextoneIII, SpiderII), all Vox Valvetronix amps and all the Behringer amps (I have owned GM110 with analog modelling and tried the others).

I proved it is the poweramp by taking a lead from the preamp output to a Marshall MG amplifier. The signal was full range and very good. The amp modelling is impressive.
I hit the bypass on the amp and tried some pedals though the amp - again, all the treble was gone compared to running the same pedals though a solidstate or valve amp.

Amp modelling has got to a good standard but manufacturers are designing poweramps with a high cut built into them. Real amps, be it solidstate or valve, have a full freqency response so sound 3 dimensional, sparkly, hifi and real! The guitar speaker naturally does cut a lot of the high end but the cut certainly does not come from the poweramp section.

The modelling amps I have found that have a full range poweramp are Roland Cube and VGA Series, Line6 FlextoneII and AX2, Johnson Millenium series amps. Maybe the high cut on more recent amps is a design feature to hide digital artifacts?? I dont know why they would design this way but they all seem to be doing it.

My advice, if you want a modelling system you just need to buy a decent solidstate amp (such as Marshall MG Series or Peavey Transtube) and put your modeller of choice into the FX loop.

The UltraG speaker simulation is good. I see the separate UltraG box being essential for anyone wanting to record guitar DI, bypass the digital cabinet models on your Line6/V-Amp2 kit and use the UltraG instead, big improvement.

I don't own this, but I would just like to make one point....I was going to buy this, but am reconsidering due to the complaints about lack of volume, it not being a true 100 watts, ect. I wish more people on these boards would focus on the volume/power aspect of combo amps. Besides tone, combos seem to fall between two categories: loud enough to gig with, or NOT loud enough to gig with. Most people don't buy amps just to record with, not everybody has a home studio. I have read glowing reviews of amps that I have owned that YOU CANNOT gig with at all, because they are too quiet. I'm assuming alot of people who write reviews either base it on how well it works in a recording environment or how cool it is to fuck around with in their bedrooms. Every review on here should state flat out IS THIS LOUD ENOUGH TO GIG WITH OR NOT? Not every live situation you will encounter is gonna have a mic/PA for your guitar. If your not loud enough, your fucked. I realize not everybody who owns or plays these amps is in a functioning band, but more emphasis on LOUDNESS would be appreciated. The Fender Deluxe Reverb 65' gets top notch reveiws, yet fails to mention that IT AIN'T really loud enough to play in a real band with. I mean, hey, great classic amp, but I've gigged out with one for years, and it's pretty much worthless for volume without a PA. Shit like this is important to me, or any other buyer. At least I would assume. So buyers beware.

The features are great once you find them! If you have used fx processors before you won't have any trouble with the manual, but if you have never played with one good luck! I wish some one would make something digital with analog knobs. I don't like pushing and holding buttons while you turn or push another button to get to do something. I also dont like it that you can change something and there is nothing that lets you know if you changed what you wanted to change. Its loaded with stuff, just finding it is a pain.

It sounds great. I mainly play Old school metal with some Death metal thrown in. All the distortion are nice, they all aren't brutal but the fuzz is the only thing i don't like on it. It defenatly has some hi gain distortion in it. I saw a review saying it lacks a middle ground distortion. I found a "skynard type of tone to sound pretty good to me. One complaint is the noise gate. I don't like it all that well because it acts funny compared to the boss nf1 i normally use. The effects are ok untill you switch presets and then you will see that the amp can't make up its mind for a sec. on what it's supposed to do. HERE IS THE BIG COMPLAINT!!! When you switch presets from clean to distortion or anything you will experiance the biggest delay i have ever heard! Changing songs on your cd player is faster than this thing! I rate the amp modeling a 10, the gate and reverb about a 5 and the effects around 6. But because the delay between presets is so bad that i will have to give it a low rating. The fist time i switched presets with the footswitch my singer looked at me and said " what the hell was that"!

The lose wiggely plastic knobs do not give me comfort on it reliability. If you wanted to gig with it i would get a case but you really can't gig with it because of the delay in switching presets.

Its a long ways away from u.s. to germany so i don't expect it to be great.

If you need a amp to recorded with this is the best thing for you to buy. If your looking to use this amp live you need to look else where. It sounds great and has a lot of features that help you define your sound that most expensive modles can't offer. It's just that damn preset delay that really get's me!

Brand new - this year 2004.

Versatile - extremely, I play many styles from heavy metal to jazz and blues, it does them all. Single channel input, but then it's up to you what you do with the sound. There is an effects loop out/in, but I haven't tried that yet ... also preamp bypass etc.

Headphone jack, yes - it can get pretty loud for home practice so that's a great feature.

So far only used at home, but it has loads of power which I hope to try out soon with a band ...

Would be nice if it had SP/DIF out, as it's basically an amp/speaker modeller with a 100W cab tucked underneath. However, it does analogue stereo out to the board, so can't complain too much.

Solid state amp with excellent modelling features - I can do Satch shred and authentic 60's AC30 stuff, plus most things in between - 'nuff said!

So far only played with my Squier Silver Series Strat (3 single coils) and my Gordon-Smith GS2-60 (2 humbuckers). Sounds great with both. Also have an Ibanez Jem, so I can't wait to hear what that sounds like :-)

Suits my style(s) perfectly - I guess my favourite sounds (so far, and I've yet to discover them all) are the cleaner Hendrix stuff (Little Wing etc) and most of Steve Vai's sounds - it handles most of these easily. I also like to play clean jazz, for which there are plenty of opportunities.

What sounds can it make - well it simulates 32 different styles of amp, plus different types of speakers/cabs/stacks. Gotta be something in there for you!

And if you can find the Mesa Boogie with mega overdrive, the sustain is unreal.

I guess the clean channel is a little distorted at high volume, but it's nice.

If you want distortion, just play with the controls - it's there.

Like I said, it's brand new, but it looks pretty well put together, so I guess I would take it on a gig without a backup.

But I'll rate it 5 coz I don't know how reliable it's going to be.

Assume it has 12 months warranty - made in Germany if that means anything these days. Behringer's web site is pretty good. Again rate 5 as I have no experience.

I've been playing on and off for over 30 years. I also own an Ibanez Jem, a Squier Silver Series Strat, a Gordon-Smith GS2-60, a Westfield electro-acoustic, a Kiso-Suzuki acoustic and a Yamaha bass, plus some keyboards and so on.

From my limited experience with this amp, I would definitely want another if it were lost or stolen. I love the AC-30 sound - that was my first decent amp, and I wish I had never sold it. But I also love the more modern sounds this amp makes. From Sabbath to total shred, it's in there somewhere ...

I looked at other amps - particularly the Line 6 Spiders, which were good and powerful, but the "insane" distortion is a joke and there is nowhere near the range of sounds of the Behringer.

Of course I would have liked a Fender Bassman or a Mesa Boogie or maybe a Carvin - actually all three and maybe more - but why spend that money when this baby can do it all?

Just try it ...

This amp has everything you would imagine for the price...
It's made mostly for rock...but suits well all the styles...for sure

I don't understand you dumbs that gave such low reviews on this amp..I think you shouldn't play guitar...maybe many of you don't realy play guitar...just want to ruin Behringer's image...isn't it??
This amp is cheap and sounds very good...just not to mencion the versatility..
of course...if you have a very cheap guitar...and don't know how to tweak your tone...this amp will suck...
Don't forget...use the L2 setting...it'sthe only way to make the speaker on the V-ampire sound really good!
L2 makes the amp come alive..it turns off the damm digital speaker simulations...you don't need them to play live!
I would give 9 in this category but I will give 10 because of the idiots that give such bad ratings..I don't understand you people! don't you have ears..or maybe..brain?? maybe the freacking TUBES on your brain are blown...duhhh
Just one more thing...I use my boss GT-6 on the PRE-DSP loop of the v-ampire...I use some Fx from the GT-6 (that I use to control the V-ampire live) like wahs...comp...chorus. I don't use the delays or the reverb from the gt-6...they become to sensitive...but the ones on the V-ampire are good...

I don't have it long enough to tell about reliability ( but thats enough to havesome great tones coming out of it)

And I'm a big fan of Behringer products...they give us..musicians..the chance of having some very cheap almost-professional gear that holds its own against high-priced gear and it's in many situations even more reliable...

I play semi-professionaly for almost 5 years...
If it were stolen or lost I would buy another...i'd like to have the Behringer GMX-212 V-tone...because of the Tech 21 Trademark kind of technology..but it is not as versatile as the V-ampire! I think analog modeling is still ahead of the digital modeling..but the digital modeling on the V-ampire is great...the digital modeling on my GT-6 (COSM) is worst and a little unnatural...
Don't get me wrong..the GT-6 is a great machine..but with the V-ampire you can shape great tones almost directly out of the box..if you have some ears and brain!

The only digital modeling amp that may hold it's own (I doubt it) against the V-ampire is the Line 6 Flextone 3 BUT the price is higher...and the reliability is weack...tipical on the Flextone's...
I'm loving this amp...there are other good amps...but the quality/price is very high..almost unbeliveable!

Buy this amp but make shure that you have..at least a good guitar..and don't forget: L2 setting is crucial!

Having owned the V-Ampire for more than a year now, I have the impression that some comments made about its sound are mostly a result of people using the wrong settings:

- If it sounds boxed up or does not have any crispness/edge to it, that is most likely the cab simulation being switched on, which is fine for direct recording but does not make sense when there is an actual guitar speaker. Pressing D+E to get into the configuration menu, using the up/down buttons to select configuration L2 and finally pressing exit will make the amp sound like it is supposed to. Perhaps Behringer should put a large removable sticker onto the amps, pointing out the importance of using the right configuration mode because this seems to be the most common problem with this amp, and when I played one in a shop recently, it was set to the wrong configuration as well.

- If the distorted sounds break up in their sustain, it is most likely that the noisegate is set too high and cuts off the notes early. Using a lower noisegate setting will cure this problem.

- Of course there are ways to make the distortion undefined: If you select one of the high-gain models (e.g. the Savage Beast), turn the gain all the way up, have the boost function active and select a compressor for your effect, the sound will definitely lack definition. Judicious use of settings on the other hand can produce sounds that are very sensitive to ones's playing. Additionally, if a guitar with a particularly high output is used, it may be a good idea to reduce global input gain.

Like any other amp, this one can sound bad when set up wrongly, and because it has more options than a two-channel no frills amp, there is also more room for error. On the other hand, setting it up properly is not rocket science either and will result some really nice sounds.

I am not giving a mark in this category or any of the others because I rated this amp in an earlier review.

Just a comment on the corner guards: The ones on my V-Ampire are certainly not aluminium, more likely steel.

I have used my V-Ampire for about a year now, for rehearsing as well as for gigging, and I am still very happy with its sound, versatility and transportability.

Btw, I have been playing for 17 years or so, and although that in itself does not mean much, I am definitely not a beginner who has not played through many other amps and therefore lacks a frame of reference.

IT's a 50 watt solid state modeling amp. Consists of dial in effects and amp modeling selections and An LCD program channel changer.

I don't know what some of these reviewers thought they were listening to for giving this amp such high marks but, what I heard was distortion that breaks apart during its sustain and a very boxed up sound. If I were comparing this to a practice amp, this amp would win out hands down. However, I was comparing it to such products as the POD 2.0 or and some fender stage amps and the V-ampire was simply not as good. It's distortion wasn't as powerfull or as clear and the reason for that is because it has low mid and bass response. Perhaps raising those eq's to 8 or 9 would get the amp to sound better but, then your left with little flexibility to get a higher frequency sound. This is a cheap version of Line 6 plain and simple.

Every thing about this amp reeks CHEAP, to its aluminum corner guards to its loosely fit dials which have gaps that make it appear that the red light dials project in the wrong spots.

I dont like this amp, If i were a beginner, I would be fooled into thinking the V-ampire is the best thing since sliced bread since a bad guitar player can hide behind the undefined distortion the V-ampire produces.
It does provide useable sounds but, it pales in comparison to line 6. The line 6 products produce the sharpe edgy sounds that are needed in order to bring out the finer details with guitar playing. some thing this behringer amp lacks.

Made in 2004 I guess. The amp is versatile for shredder. Only one channel? It's loaded with features as described below. The cavbinet is way to big, need to be about half the size.

I use a Les Paul Deluxe and an American Ash Strat. Most of the map models sound the same with the group. about 5 or 6 disticnt tones. The effects work well enuf, but I have to put my face right up next to it because I am an old tube geezer. I think they are trying to out-do Line 6 here with all the effects and amp models. The clean sounds are good, but rather tinny. No botton end, and almost no volume in clean channel? My Fender 12 watt tube amp is 5 times louder than this 50/100 amp.

Seems like cheesy particle board could fall aprt at any time.

Been playing a long time. As a tube geezer, I own moslty vintage stuff, so I Know what I plug into has to bring out the best. This amo has way too many gizmos and gadgets and I'm too lazy to stay up all night figuring it out. It's too big, too heavy, and what's the deal with needing another amp to get the 100 wats? That sucks. It's a cheap amp. I compared it to a line 6 Spider II and liked the simplicty of the Line 6, althought it also is a cheesy amp and sounded thin and tinny with no real bottom end. I also tried the Fender Princeton 650 DSP Series III and liked it's tone the best, although it cost $150 more than the Behringer. The price is the best think about this amp. Too flashy, too many gimmicks, not enough low-end tone, not enough power. As a fompus tube geezer once said, "Give me about 12 watts, decent gain, decent break-up, smooth creamy tube-saturated distortion, and spring reverb, and I'll give you a tone you will never get tired of" - me.

One of the reviews here correctly noted that the Behringer manual is not concise, and a bit of a pain to read. I created a quick 2 page reference that can be printed to one piece of paper that outlines all of the non-obvious controls. It is at the Yahoo V-Amp2 group in the files section.

Just bought my amp a few days ago (September 2004). This amp has all of the effects, amp modelling and cabinet simulation features of the v-amp 2 as well as a speaker, cabinet and 100 watt amp (100 mono or 2x50 stereo). I really am impresed with the amount of versatility it gives you to play such a wide variety of sounds. Some specs say 100w and some say 120w - not sure which is correct for my amp, but it does say 100 watts on the back.

I really like the way the presets work. Being able to save almost every setting on the amp (eq, volume, effects chosen, etc.) into one of the 125 presets is great. This feature alone makes the amp great for those who want to fine tune their perfect custom sound, and then save it not having to remember each setting. It is really easy to use.

You can adjust parameters directly on the amp, but you can use (and I really recommend that you do) the midi interface to view, change and save even more parameters for the amp and the 125 presets.

I use an early 90s Ibanez strat with a humbucker and two single pickups. The amp suits my and almost any music style - the modelling, effects and cab simulation really makes this a bunch of amps and sounds in one.

I do agree with others that the amp should have more volume. I've played a few other 100 watt amps and this one does seem quieter. Part of me thinks that it is the nature of the v-amp - you aren't getting an overdriven signal, you are getting a simulation of an overdriven signal at line levels - correct me if I'm wrong here, but that is my guess.

The amp is noisy on some settings, but programming the noise gate alleviates that.

I can't stress enough how important it is to use the computer software (from their website) to create your own personalized sounds. For my taste, a lot of the 125 default preset sounds are too processed and sound cheesy - but don't let this discourage you from buying this amp. Some of the default presets are very good. But I have been able to get my own sounds that I really like by adjusting things on the computer. I went throught the built-in presets, picked the 5 that I like best and thought sounded like me. I then fine tuned them on the computer, and voila... I can move between those 5 sounds with the footswitch. To change to another bank of five sounds, you use buttons on the amp. I like this better than changing between two channels and having to adjust the knobs each time you want to change sounds (like the GMX212 that I also was considering).

Maybe the presets and footswitch is not a big deal for a lot of people here, but for me it is. I am someone who has always played unamplified acoustic, and shyed away from the electric because I didn't like the sounds i could get out of my little 15 watt crate amp. Recently I have hooked up with a band that plays classic, and 70s to 90s rock, which is why I needed to get a new amp. The sounds and flexibility of this amp makes me want to learn and play more on the electric.

If you are only going to spend $500 canadian, this is the amp to buy. I tried the Line 6, and while it did seem louder (it was a 2x12), I did not like the sound of the Line 6 as much as the Behringer, especially some of the clean amps and the effects.

If it wasn't for the volume issue I would give this a 10.

Haven't had it long enough to say here. The fact that the knobs are plastic and don't seem as solid as some other amps doesn't give me the greatest feeling, but at the price, you can't go wrong.

Haven't dealt with them. However I'll give them a 9 because I love their website. It has a lot of relevant, helpful info that is well organized and easy to navigate, and the manufacturer's suggested retail price is their too which puts pressure on stores not to overcharge which I find a lot of the music stores here in Winnipeg, Canada do due to the smaller market and lack of competition.

I've been playing for about 10 years. I own a newer Washburn cutaway acoustic (2002), a Crate GX-15, an older fender acoustic now always tuned to open E with high action for playing slide, an old beat up Jaguar acoustic with burn marks on it from the campfire, and my name carved into it.

If it was lost or stolen, I would definitely buy it again - or maybe the head/cabinet version to hopefully get more volume out of it (I may end up buying a cabinet, soon I will try a friends to see if this thing can move some air). For the money it's great. If I had unlimited money, I would instead buy about 10 other amps, 5 or so effects, and a couple of speaker cabinets to give me better sound than the Behringer.

Hammerhart! Das Teil das alles, was ich brauche, in super Qualitat und zu diesem Preis! 31 Amp- und 15 Speaker-Modelle, dazu noch echt brauchbare Effekte. Die Nutzbarkeit der, qualitativ hochwertigen, Effekt-Section wird aber leider durch die bescheuerte Regelung der Modulationsgeschwindigkeit stark beeintrachtigt. Anstelle des Tasters sollte hier wirklich ein Poti zu Einsatz kommen. Au?erst praktisch sind die umfangreichen Ein- und Ausgange ? perfekt fur?s Recording. Die Verarbeitung ist optisch und technisch Beispielhaft. Robustes Gehause und auch die Potis machen einen super Eindruck. Auch innen ist er sehr sauber verarbeitet.

Ich spiele daruber eine selbstgebaute E-Gitarre im Les Paul-DC ? Style mit sehr starken Humbuckern. Der V-Ampire bringt mein Spiel(-Gefuhl) genau so ruber, wie ich das gerne mochte. Der Jensen-Speaker allein klingt mir allerdings etwas zu ?kalt? und er hat mir auch zuwenig Druck. Deshalb habe ich noch eine Zusatzbox mit einem 12'' Eminence Veteran drangeklemmt. Die Klarheit des Jensen, gepaart mit der Warme des Eminence klingt geil.
Welch super Leistung die Sound-Designer von Behringer geleistet haben, hort man vor allem uber die Line-Outs. Ehrlich gesagt, habe ich die allermeisten Modelle noch nie in Echt gespielt, aber soweit ich es beurteilen kann, sind sie alle sehr authentisch. Ich liebe vor allem die warmen, dynamischen Lead-Sounds, die man damit 'zaubern' kann.
Die Effekte sind allesamt gut. Besonders gefallen mir die verschiedenen Hall-Versionen und das Auto-Wah. Die anderen klingen zwar auch alle gut, ich nutze sie aber noch recht selten. Das wird sich aber sicher andern, wenn ich den Midi-Footcontroller habe, dann kann man alles viel besser steuern.
In der Not kann man uber den V-Ampire sogar recht passabel mit der E-Acoustic spielen und sogar singen. E-Bass habe ich noch nicht probiert.

Zur Zuverlassigkeit kann ich hier noch nichts sagen. Ich habe ihn erst seit 7 Monaten und noch nie allzu stark beansprucht.

Brauchte ich bis jetzt nicht.

'Ne volle 10! Das Preis/Leistungsverhaltnis vom V-Ampire ist echt super. Den gebe ich so schnell nicht wieder her! Fur unterwegs werde ich mir auch noch den kleinen V-Amp zulegen. Seit ich den V-Ampire habe, macht das Spielen noch mehr Spass.

2004, too many features to list, forp the price its absolutely ridiculous. If i could give it an 11 in tthis category I would! I compared this to the Line 6 spider 2 series combos and they are night and dsay aprt as far as features go, the biggest one being thaty the Spider 1x12 has no extension speaker outlet which rteally blows if you want to gig with your small combo, the Vampire does!

OK, first off, I primarly uses a Peavey 5150 head with a Marshall 1960 4x12 cab, so Im used to a crunchy, high gain tube tone. I have been able to dial in a VERY usable, close sound with the Vampire by using the "brit hi gain" model( JCM 800) with the drive function on. ADD some reverb and a small dab of chorus and im in Van Halen heaven. I play in a VH tribute band so the real test was to take it to a gig, which I did last night. It sounded great, was plenty loud enough, in fact I have no idea what epeople are bithcing about as far as the volume for this unit is concerned. I had it turne dup just past halfway and with the PA it was fine. This "Test" made me realize more than ever that tone is 95% in your hands. I sounded the same playing through this as i did with my 5150, so I am led to beleive that a lot of people out ther who are so against digital/modeling amps simply cant really play....sorry guys, truth hurts. With this replace my 5150? NO, but I will be confident taking it to gigs where I dont want to hurt my back lugging around a half stack. I have yet to try this baby direct, but heard it sounds AMAzing going thru the board....we shall see..

Just got it, people say Behringer stuiff is crap, non reliable, made in China, etc..I will wait and see what happens

Have to give a 10 for the overall because I have spent so much money on so many amps over teh years and this one seems to have the potentioal of being able to do what 10 of them combined can and then some.....for $300 bucks??!!! Who cares if it dies aftewr a year, just buy another one and you are still ahead of the game compared to spending $1000 plu like you would for a lot of amps. and by the way, Line 6 has NOTHING on this amp. Its way cheaper, has way more features and sounds much better and more realistic. What else can I say?

I believe the unit I purchased was made in 1993. It is very versatile.
I play in a classic rock band and the ability to cover clean to
heavy distortion is there. I have used this amp for the last year on gigs at clubs. If I could influence the design team at Behringer, I would ask for 2x the internal power and the ability to assemble the effects individually.

I use this amp with a us stratocaster with emg active pickups. In general this setup is very quiet even with the noise gate set at 25%
or less. This amp can create about any sound ever made with the exception of pitch-shifting. The clean patches are a bit weaker than
the distortion patches but I believe this can be evened out in the overall setup.

Last winter I left the amp in the equipment truck and 2x all the presets were lost (just a jumbled digital mess remained.) After replacing the interior backup battery and never letting the unit get cold again, the problem has never repeated itself. It has remained
reliable for gigs the last 9 months. This hard lesson though has inspired me to become adept using the setup software that is available on the behringer website. Saving and or restoring presets is simple using a computer/sound blaster soundcard and a couple of midi cables. I originally ordered the fcb1010 controller that did not work until behringer sent the free update chip. Once installed everything worked fine. At one point I thought the sound was a bit weak and the tuner was not working well. After borrowing a new cord, the sound was great and the tuner worked perfectly. I wonder how many people bashing this amp really have other problems or have not
invested the time to really understand it. The manual is a bit hard to interpret.

Behringer is very helpful and quick to help.

I have been playing for 30 years and the last 5 in a weekend band. If this were stolen I would have to replace it as it is my signature sound. I could not reproduce this with any of the marshall, hiwatt or other tube amps/effects that I have accumulated over the years. I run the amp on top of a 4x12 marshall cab using the right output to power
the right sise of the stereo image. It sounds very good but needs to run at 3/4 volume to keep up with our hard driving drummer. My solos are never quite powerful enough though. I tried an experiment at practice running the vampire direct line stereo outs through a compressor and 400 watt power amp then to a 4x12 stereo cabinet. NOW THAT IS WHAT I WISH THAT BEHRINGER COULD PROVIDE. Line 6 sells a head like that but I believe it costs 1600+ dollars. Overall, It takes a lot of time to understand how to use this effectively but once mastered I believe anyone would appreciate its capability.
ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE $299.00 PRICE TAG.

Where do I start? I bought this amp a little over a year ago, for the price of ?499.

This amp has everything a guitar player could ever need. There are so many features, it'll take a long time to process them all. There are some effects missing (like a pitch shifter), but as a complete package, it doesn't disappoint. If you also take the price into concideration, there's just nothing like it.

First of all, there's the amp-simulators. There are 32 of them, ranging from clean to over-the-top distortion. There's a good balance, but the emphasis seems to be on the hi-gain models. I'm not familiar with all the "real" amps, but almost all of them sound very musical and useable. A complete list can be found on http://www.v-amp.com.

You also get digital cabinet simulators (15 types), plus an analogue ultra-G 4x12'cab-sim.

Then there are the effects. There's REVERB (9 types), DELAY (3 types), CHORUS, FLANGER, PHASER, COMPRESSOR, TREMOLO, ROTARY, AUTO-WAH and PEDAL-WAH.

Also, there are lots of possible connections. There is a PRE_DSP EFFECTS LOOP (which can be used to record "clean" while listening to the "wet" sound). A stereo HEADPHONE jack, XLR BALANCED STEREO OUTPUTS, JACK-TYPE UNBALANCED STEREO OUTPUTS, 2-button FOOTSWITCH (included!!), MIDI IN-OUT, STEREO AUX IN (with volume knob), 2 SPEAKER OUTPUTS, and of course, one INSTRUMENT INPUT.

It's a 2X50 watts stereo amp, that works as a 50 watts mono amp through the supplied 12' Jensen speaker (8 ohm)

I don't know how Behringer has done it, but this amp really sounds awsome. I use a couple of Les Paul guitars, an Ibanez RG370 and an Ibanez SA160QM, both with Seymour Duncan Pick-ups. It sounds absolutely amazing, both with clean and distortion settings.

When I bought the amp, it was not my intention to buy it because of its simularities with the real amps. I bought it to create my own sound with it. I guess that's what this amp is best at. You can create some wonderful sounds with it that have never been heard before.

I play mostly progressive rock/metal, but we also have a cover band, where we play all kinds of styles, like blues, pop, rock and even folk. The V-ampire does everything with style.

Is it noisy? Not at all. I use it for recording in the studio, and it is the most quiet amp I have ever used in my 25 years of experience.It's also the best sounding and versatile amp I ever heard.

By using the Ultra-G cab-sim, you can have the best direct-to-mixer sound I've ever experienced! A digital cab-sim always sounds dry and not very "breathy". This is the solution I was looking for. It actually sounds like a 4x12' cab beeing mic'd. Very impressive indeed.

There is always a lively discussion on the net about which one is the best, Behringer or Line6. I guess it's a matter of taste, really, but this analogue speaker simulator takes the Behringer one step closer to making a digital machine sound like a real amp.

I've broken off one of the knobs once, but I could fix it myself without too many problems. Those knobs are NOT very sturdy, and a reason for concern! For the rest, this amp is reliable enough to take on the road.

I never had any problems with Behringer products, so I never had to deal with them.

I've been playing for 25 years, and have used many amps before. The Behringer V-ampire is the one I will keep. If it were stolen, I certainly would buy it again, although I would probably buy the newer head + cab model. Hell, I'll buy that anyway, and keep the V-ampire for home-use and back-up.

It's incredible what they have done with this amp, and I am very impressed with the overall value. I've compared it with different other models, like the Line6. Line 6 also make good amps, but they sound more "digital" to me. The difference, to me, lies with the Ultra-G speaker cab on the V-amp. When recording directly without a mike, the digital cabs from Line6 and Behringer (and others) don't sound very "lively". When you use the Ultra-G ANALOGUE cab-sim on the V-ampire, you really do hear the difference.

This is the best amp you can get for the money, it's as simple as that.
