loves humbuckers, single coils too. this amp has that fender blackface sound and it is a keeper. When I got it some preamp tubes were worn out and the power tubes needed replaced and then it roared. I had thought about selling this amp, but it is really just too good. I have owned four other blues pearls. I sold one similar to this, a texas tornado with 25 watts, let it go to buy an older fender blackface style amp, but decided to keep this one as it should last for many many years and a 67 fender may not. The high input has a huge marshall type sound, roars like an airplane (slight exaggeration) and the low input is clean fender, lovely sound, then at about 9 it has a smooth overdrive. the high input has plenty of crunch., the combination of the two sounds is the reason this amp is a keeper. Some other pearls I have had were not as versatile. extremely quiet amp, and a reverb as good as any fender I have heard, close to a 67 pro reverb but not quite.

Reliability : No Opinion
dont know, it is very quiet, and seems solid. we will see.

Customer Support : No Opinion
very small operation.

owned soldanos, vintage fenders, other blues pearls, dr z's, mesa boogies, laneys,...playin for over 30 years, I have decided to keep this amp, wasnt sure at first, but after putting in the right tubes and listening to the reverb, and the overall sound, fender and marshall, it would be a shame to not have it. I now own a dr z route 66 and this amp. Have had 20 others in the last 3 years. It is not a perfect amp, it is a bit heavy, could use a different type speaker and an A/B box to switch between the two channels, but it is clean quiet, fender blackface sound, great reverb, fine tolex cosmetics, built to last, and it is a handmade point to point wired amp that should last for 20-30 more years with proper care. for 600$ it would be stupid to let this one go. If you can find one at a reasonable price you wont be dissapointed, may adjustments can be made to get it to sound the way you want it to.
