This cab features heavy tolex that survives being dropped in parking lots, a heavy duty jack that didn't bend when its cord got yanked HARD, an extra heavy duty handle, and it's strong - so strong you can sit on it - maybe even the whole band can sit on it - without worrying about it breaking.

The grille doesn't tear easily, and since its attached with Velcro, it can be replaced easily even if you did manage to trash it.

Here's another great feature - light weight. Grab your guitar in one hand and this cab with the other, and you balance. The wiring inside is heavy duty, too. It may be a simple cab with no knobs or controls, but it has all the features I appreciate in heavily gigged gear.

Sound Quality : 10
The tone is full, with lots of bass, and the Vintage 30 speaker breaks up just right for rock & blues music.

There is a limit to the fun, though... Medium to large rooms and outdoor gigs are too much for this unit to handle. One 12 inch speaker in a closed back cabinet just can't move enough air in those situations. The speaker breaks up too much, so you lose clean tones and most of the lower frequencies.

The answer is to use a pair for bigger gigs. Carrying two of these is still much easier than lugging around a closed back 2x12. Most Bogner Cubes are built with 16 ohm speakers with this in mind - plug in two and the amp sees 8 ohms.

Reliability : 10
I've owned and gigged mine for over a year without any problems. As I said before, its been dropped and banged around many times, yet it still looks new. It's made of finger-joined birch, not plywood, so it's very solid.

Haven't needed to contact Bogner.

I use this cab primarily with a Bad Cat Hot Cat 30 head - it's a really good match - and for rehearsals I use it with a THD Univalve.

I play rock in an '80s cover band, using one Cube for smaller gigs and two for anything bigger. With an amp stand, I can aim the cabinet up towards my head so I can hear myself without playing too loud. I strongly recommend doing this for gigs were volume control is important.

It would be nice if it had a parallel jack on the back instread of just one input. Some amp heads, (like the THD Univalve), only have one output, but that's a minor issue, and one could always be added.

I've been playing for 34 years. When I was in college I hauled around two 4x12 cabinets, but over time I've come to appreciate smaller, lightweight gear that still sounds great. This mini stack provides more than enough stage volume for any gig. If it were lost or stolen, I'd be on Ebay looking for another asap.

An extremely well made "small" ported cab with 1x12 Celestion Vintage 30. (60 watt)

Sound Quality : 10
I bought the Cube slightly used and in new condition, along with a Soldano 20 watt head as a package deal. It sounded "good" but the Soldano seemed to need a more open sound with more bass. I took the larger Line6 cab with their own Celestion 60 watt speaker, and sent it to the Soldano. Then I moved the Bogner Cube to the 50 watt Laney tube combo. The sound of the Bogner cab through the Laney combo is absolutely gorgeous!

Reliability : 10
I'd use this cab without a backup. Unless the place burned down I don't see it going out through normal use.

I've been playing since 1966, and have owned/played through tons of gear.

If it was stolen, and I could find another in great condition at a decent price, I buy another. But only for the application with the Laney. I much prefer open-back cabs as a rule, such as with the Soldano.

I'm cosidering to buy the Bogner 1x12 Cube cabinet, as the word is that it is the best 1x12 money can buy. But it seems to be quite hard to get a hold of. Mostly because of the manufacturer, I think.

Four months ago I contacted Tre'45, the Bogner dealer in Norway, about purchasing it. They told me that they had ordered cabinets, and that they were just awaiting the shipment. ...And four months, a dozen phonecalls and much use of a cheap Peavey transistor amp later, I'm still waiting. And so is Tre'45.

I won't blame them as the dealer, as they seem to be just as confused as to the order they have made as I am. I'll probably wait for about a week from now. And if Bogner doesn't suply the cabinets to the Norwegian dealer, I'll have to look for some other cabinet for my THD Univalve.

The bottom line: What good is it to make the world's greatest 1x12s, if the costumers are unable to buy them?

I've tested the cabinet once, and so I know it will sound great if I can get one. However, due to the "communication breakdown" from Bogner, I'm looking at 1x12 cabinets from Budda and Engl as well. If you guys out there have any good suggestions to what cabinet which will sound good with the Univalve, please email me!

1x12 closed back and front ported cabinet, 1 jack plate in the back, 1 handle on top ...
Loaded with 1 Celestion Vintage 30.

Sound Quality : 10
I have 2 Bogner 1x12 that I use with my stereo rig ... I use an all maple ESP w/ EMG 81 & 85, an all maple strat with Seymour Duncan Screaming Deamon Humbucker and SSL-1 single coil, a Peavey Wolfgang Special, an Alder strat with a Duncan Custom Custom Humbucker.
First, the guitars feed a bunch of pedals (Whammy, Wha, Dyna Comp, Phase 90, MXR Flanger, Boss OC2), then the signal goes into a Hafler Triple Giant preamp or a Soldano SLO-100 prototype Head (thru a Palmer PDI-03 or THD HotPlate) into an effect rack (TC G-Force, Lexicon MPX-1, Chandler SDE, CAE 4x4 and Mixer) the final product goes to a Mesa/Boogie 50/50 power amp into the 1x12.
The Bogners' have good response at all volume and with all settings. I play in a Metal Band and in a bar-type cover band, if the 1x12 are a little small for a loud rock band, they can remarkably compete with any 4x12. But small gigs (bars) is where they shine: They are portable, loud with good tone, lots of mid and bass with smooth top end ...
I have experience no speaker distortion (did not try ether), no farts or cracks ... it's a 10 !!

Reliability : 10
I have used two over the last 6 month without failure! I do gig with out a back up ... if one goes down I'll go mono ... but I have confidence.

Customer Support : 10
Very nice, quick to answer the phone ... just Bogner would have a Web site ...

Overall Rating : 10
If you are looking for a 1x12 cabinet with butt kicking tone ... this is the one! Put a microphone in front of it and you will believe it is a 4x12 ... I play guitar for almost 12 years, I have owned and/or used ADA, Marshall, Soldano cabinets with Celestion 75 watts, 80 watts or vintage 30 ... Bogner's 1x12 are the best bang for the buck!
If mine were stolen I would definitly replace them. I might get a 4x12 on the side for larger gigs ... I recently tried Rivera's 1x12 subwoofer and I am thinking about adding one to my set-up for that 4x12/high wattage speaker THUMP! ... mmmh ... too much gear ... not enough cash!

i purchased the cabinet new just a few weeks ago, and have already had a chance to put it through its paces in a variety of situations. the main reason behind getting the cabinet was to be able to use my bogner ecstasy 101B head at lower volumes without having to drive the big bogner 412 cabinet. i'd say that it was a great move.

my version is the ported, closed-back cube model with a vintage 30--bogner also offers an open-back version, as well as a bigger-sized version to fit their shiva combo, and they also offer the cabinet with a celestion classic 80. my understanding is that the ecstasy is voiced with vintage 30's in mind, so i'm glad that i got the version with the vintage 30.

i use this cabinet in a gospel setting at church, playing contemporary pop/R&B/funk stuff--if you're familiar with that kind of stuff, i'd say that the christian assembly stuff is probably the closest stuff in terms of style. the volumes we play at are moderate, so the idea was to be able to push the bogner ecstasy head harder into a smaller amount of speakers.

i won't give a rating for features, because i'm not sure that you can rate cabinets in this manner. it's a basic cabinet that's wired at 16 ohms with a single jack.

Sound Quality : 10
i'm using the cabinet with a bogner ecstasy head and various anderson guitars. in the gospel situation, the primary guitar, however, is an anderson alder classic in a superstrat configuration--see my harmony central review for more information on that particular instrument. the idea is to cover a variety of sonic bases from super-clean funk stuff to more aggressive, thick rock tones when soloing, and this guitar works exceedingly well with this amp and cabinet combination.

as i stated, the musical situation i'm in requires some moderation in the volume levels. you can really push the amp and the cabinet at the volume levels we use and get a great pushed tone--because the amp doesn't have to drive four speakers in a 412 cabinet, you can get a much bigger and more coherent tone with this single-12 cabinet.

compared to the 412, the 112 is a lot more focused, and it's very easy to mike up. in a lot of ways, it's very similar to the 412 sound when you crank the amp, only you don't have to wind the amp up nearly as loud to get that tone with this cabinet.

one great thing about this cabinet is its sheer fatness of tone. i've tried a lot of 112 cabinets, and nothing else really compares. i can understand why lots of session players are using a pair of these things for their stereo rack rigs when they want something more focused and compact than, say, a pair of 212 or 412 cabinets. even buzz feiten, who makes his own wonderful-sounding cabinets, uses a pair of bogner 112's in his rig. as he stated, "if i could make a cabinet that sounded this good, i'd be using them."

Reliability : No Opinion
the cabinet appears to be very well-built, but as with anything, it's best to gig with a backup. i plan to get another one in the future, so that i can use it in a stereo rack rig that i might be assembling.

Customer Support : 10
the bogner people have always been helpful, and that's about that really matters. they seem to really care, and they have never rushed me off the phone, either.

Overall Rating : 10
this is the best-sounding 112 cabinet i have ever heard--PERIOD. for what i wanted, this cabinet does it.

bear in mind that going to a 112 cabinet from a 412 cabinet--which i still own and love--doesn't really change the volume as much as it changes the TONE. what you get with a 112 cabinet is a more focused tone--the amp has to drive fewer speakers, and you get a more cohesive tone as a result.

it's been said that bogner makes the best cabinets. i can't disagree in any way.
