Really easy to use all analog Monster...This preamp doesn't have a ll the bells and whistles like others but if your a tone purest you would understand why it was built with out certain options like effects loop
4 Channel all tube design with master volume and presence controls (back panel)
Eight 12AX7 preamp tubes.

You will not find a stock preamp that sounds like this...I've owned the triaxis JMP-1 and the Engl 580.. Sound wise the fish is all pro...I love all the channels.
The clean channel is not a Vox or a VHT SigX clean but holds its own in articulation and spank, you have to move those chicken knobs on this preamp. you can make drastic turns on the tone knobs,very passive except for the gain and mid which is expected in a pro preamp.
The tubes are fine no need to change as far as I'm concerned
The Strato channel is very wet feeling and hugely saturated.,
The Brown channel is the XTC sounding channel except with way more gain..over the top - but hey pull it back and play the blues
The Shark channel is the most unique channel. It really reminds me of the Metropolis amp. Junk yard dog that barks out at you and tries to pull and push you all over the sonic map.. Its a very experimental
channel for me
Every channel sound different. Like a different amp . I use a VHT 2/50/2 rack Amp this this preamp. I love the el34 tubes

If it was stolen I would use the other one I have in a sealed box..LOL...This preamp is a tone machine...You have to have a quality tube Power amp for sure.. People running the VHT power amps
really seem to love this combo...I do...This preamp does magic do not hesitate buying one..Bogner will not build a preamp again "so they say"... I just cant say enough about it..E-mail me if you have questions
