I'm so glad I bought this amp, but even more glad that I decided to keep it. For a while I wasn't sure because I'm still in love with my old Shivas, but I overcame new amp anxiety and decided to keep it. Luckily no one bought it when I had it up for auction for two days or I would have regretted it immensely.

This amp can pretty much do anything. It's an inherently bright amp, but the brightness can certainly be dialed out. It wasn't exactly easy to find the right settings, but much easier if you know the trick.

The trick is to start with the EQ's all set to 0, then add bass, then add mids, then treble, then presence. The mid control on my Shiva 20th seems to be the most powerful.

You should note that this amp handles single coils AND humbuckers exceptionally well. It's also very good with all kinds of pedals and effects.

It's capable of chimey, shimmering clean sounds with lots of depth and dimension. It really sounds incredible. With the boost engaged, it gets kind of dirty real nicely.

The vintage mode, as I call it, sounds pretty much like the regular shiva with just a hair more gain. The modern mode, as I also refer to it, has a ton of gain on tap and sounds more aggressive, more focused.

I can't say this amp necessarily does the brootz all scooped like the Uberschall can do, but it certainly covers a pretty wide range. I haven't found a really great scooped doom metal sound yet, but I also haven't been trying for it much. I'm sure it's all there though.

This amp has a big, 3-dimensional sound. The cleans aren't as jangly and loose as the regular Shiva, but just as nice I would say.

It's a tight amp, tighter than the Uberschall. Comparable to a VHT amp I think because I compared it directly to a Deliverance 60 and Pitbull 50 CL.

Mine doesn't have reverb and, frankly, reverb is unnecessary. This amp sounds so damned good you will not want to water it down with effects. Just pure tonal goodness.

I love this amp. It's so damned good in every way and looks cool as hell with the white tolex. I think this amp is destined to become a real classic. I'll probably buy another one as a backup.

These amps are incredibly well-built. I've had zero issues with any of my Bogners. The only issue I ran into was that my footswitch stopped working. Of course, Bogner has great service and is replacing it for me.

Customer Support : 9
They're good and willing to take time answering questions.

Overall Rating : 10
Just a damned good amp and legendary amp builder. Freaking Bogner rules!
