this amp will crush you if your bandmates will let you turn it up without getting mad. i play rock... mainly riff oriented. use some effects.
2 ch w/ switching for clean/dirty and fx
i wish it had a second channel between the clean and dirty
i use every feature it has
i have used it playing in venues from 300 people to 2000 people... plenty of power. the question is getting it to sound the same in a small practice room. this is a "Big boy" AMP.

Sound Quality : 9
i guess it can make great sounds. it does all i want it to do and i still get chill bumps. as a matter of fact... this is making me want to go plug up right now!

the clarity of this amp at all volumes is amazing.

you can literally stand in front of this amp and feel it pushing in on your chest. try it... master at 2 o clock and adjust the individual volumes as needed.

i use les paul standards with duncan 59s and custom custom

rock and everytime i play through this amp it makes me want to play something heavy. i love this amp for the music i do. it challenges me.

it is only noisy because i run my master pretty high. i like to work the tubes. the small amount of noice is covered up when you are ready to play. not a big deal for me. i will probably get a hush pedal eventually.

Reliability : 10
i had 1 prob. the first week i got it. the foot switch would not work.

i called bogner... they said to send it back... within the week i had a new one. no probs since.

i use it every gig w/o backup. i do bring an extra switch tho.

Customer Support : 10
best customer service i have ever dealt with. i seriously doubt they get that many calls on broken stuff. i would imagine most of their calls come from people wanting one of their amps.

i have heard that the warranty is limited lifetime to the original owner only. i have also heard that you can send them back and they will do the job for you. all i know is that mine is new and i will call them first if i ever have any problems.

Overall Rating : 9
10yrs playing... ive had mesas, h&k, marshalls. i love this amp. it better not get stolen.

i love the gain and the fact that when people see it... they know you are serious about what you do.

i wish it had an OD channel to transition from clean to dirty.

AS FOR A SOLO BOOST. I RUN AN EQ PEDAL THROUGH THE FX LOOP AND TREAT THE FX SWITCH AS A SOLO BUTTON. DOES ME GREAT AND YOU CAN CHANGE THE TONE OF YOUR SOLOS. JUST LEAVE THE EQ PEDAL ON TOP OF YOUR AMP AND ON AT ALL TIMES. WHEN SOLO TIME COMES... HIT THE FX BUTTON.

This amp was made in 2006. I bought it used. This amp is not very versatile. Yes you can tweak it and get a number of tones. But I play in a band that demands many sound changes in any given song. So as a stand alone amp you really have to settle on one sound. But versatility is not why I bought this amp. It is one reason and one reason only, distortion that could stop a stampede of elephants. I'm not talking Bang your head pimply teenager distortion. This is elegant liquid that came straight from the Gods. It is a two channel amp that has a very unbalanced clean channel. You must turn everyting on the clean side to 10(except bass) to compete with the volume of the gain channel. There is an effects loop that has a tube buffer on it.
If I actually had some input on changes made to this amp I would start with a third channel. For 2500$+ this amp should have something between clean and gain channels. Also the clean almost feels like an after thought.
This amp will become part of a rig that includes a Hughes&Kettner Triamp MKII. I bought this amp to help compliment my heavier tones. The Uberschall has more power than you'll ever need.

Sound Quality : 9
This amp has a gain sound that sounds 3-D. I first played it in the local music store and everyone immediately came over. It's like the Pied Piper of Metal. You can't help stand up and take notice when the Uberschall roars! You do have to be careful with the Bass. This amp was designed for Low tuning 7 string chaos. I use a ESP with emg pickups and a JP Musicman with passive pickups and get much different results with both guitars. Both sound good. This thing loves to be turned up and thats when the magic happens. There is also a prescence knob on the gain channel that really is a mid eq but it interacts with the gain to really shape the sound.
Like I said the distortion is God-Like. I have never heard distortion like this. It drips with tone and still remains focused at high volumes. very Articulate. I play a lot of inversions in our songs. This amp never seems to get Muddy and every note seems to sing through. This amp is no more noisy than any high gain amp. I use a g-Major with Noise gate... No Problem.

Reliability : 9
Hard to say. The guy I bought it from had it retubed after 11 months because the tubes farted out. Other than that it has no problems.

Customer Support : 10
I bought this used and had a lot of questions about settings, Clean Channel etc... I called Bogner and the dude chatted with me for a half hour. He knew the amp inside and out. Super friendly and helpful. Bogner has won me over. Try calling Marshall and get that type of coutresy.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for 20+ YEARS. I've played crates, rocktron, Peavey JSX, Hughes and Kettner and Laney. None of them can touch the quality of this distortion. But there is much more to musuc than bone rattling gain. If Bogner made the Ubershall a bit more versatile and they could blow away the markets demand for mesa Boogie rectifiers. It seems they have something special I hope they continue to inprove upon the product.
If this amp was stolen it would have to be a pretty strong thief, It is very heavy. I would hunt down that thief and grind up his soul and sacrifice him to the gain Gods. Then I would probably buy another one!

I play with several guitars, a fender strat, gibson sg, and a paul reed smith McCarty. This amp is great for getting that bogner sound w/o destroying your guitar's own tone and you can really get a lot of tones out of it. I'm using this head mostly for rock, slightly on the harder side, but you really can get quite a few rich tones out of it just by messign with the gain a bit. The clean channel is pretty straight foward, glassy clean with TOOONNNS of headroom, you can crank it to ten and it won't break up on you unless you want it to. Also, it has more low end on a clean tone than you'll ever need but it stays super clear and doesnt get mushy. The gain channel is exactly what it is.(im assuming if you're even looking at bogner reviews you're aware of what this amp is) It's super high gain but super clear. For once an amp that doesn't bottom out on you when you turn it up. I have to say, i was really really impressed when i got to acutally turn the amp up at my pratcice studio and it stayed just as crunch and tight with the volume cranked... you really have to push it to 2 oclock or so to get that throaghty toan.. This was an upgrade from a mesaboogie triple recto which has plenty of power and head room but the bogner really pushes far past what you can do with a boogie. All that said, if youre looking for a studio head to get every tone immaginable with, THIS IS NOT THE HEAD FOR YOU. Get an extacy they will give you any tone immaginable and have a much better loop. But to be totally honest the reason i didnt go for one of those is based on two things. One, TOURING. I wanted a straight foward head that i didnt have to worry about a millon knobs and switches on. And two, that guilty pleasure you get when you have the most brutal chug tone on a bill. I like having a really heavy guitar tone live and this keeps me entertained night after night. haha. Seriously though, if youre looking for a heavy sounding amp, this is the one to get.. Theres always soldano's and VHT's and Diezel's, all are amazing amplifiers but i personally just like the darker tonality of the bogners, i would suggest checking out all your options though before you settle on something.

Reliability : No Opinion
Im taking it out on the road in about a week so i suppose im about to find out. But knowing several other people who tour wiht these im not too worried about it. So far its fired up every time ive turned it on.

Customer Support : 10
Sean and everyone down at bogner are amazing. They got the head to me in half the time they said they would, modified it with a solo boost, made it with a wheat face, and custom built me a foot switch with an extra long cable for the boost(which is handwritten on the switch haha) Ive spent countless hours talking to them on the phone and down at the factory and every person that works there really goes out of their way to make sure you're happy with their product. I couldnt immagine having a problem with them support wise, they know they make killer amps and love doing what they do.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing guitar for about 12 years now, several of them being professionaly. I wouldnt say im an amazing player by any means but i do pay close attention to tone and for now, i finally got what ive been hearing in my head all these years. If this head were lost or stolen id probably fire whoever missplaced it and hunt down the culpret slashing his throaght with the back grill.. haha just kidding, but i would be really bummed and deffinatly would replace it as soon as possible. Comparing this to a SLO 100, VH4, Pitbull and a couple others, It wasnt that this head was so much more amazing than them, it was just more of what i was looking for tonality-wise and the way it sat in a mix. Anything you buy at this level or price range for that even, is going to be a quality great sounding amp, but again The bogner just did it for me. The only thing i would say is that it would be nice if a solo boost came standard on it and if it had the effects loop from the extacy, aside from that, im 110% happy with this and it destroys my MesaBoogie.

I've been playing guitar for 35 years. Mostly metal, I played on Marshalls in the 70's and 80's and on Hiwatts. I played on Mesa Boogies in the 90's and early 2000's. This amp to me is the holy grail of tone. In the last 2 years Ive gone through 6 different amps trying to find the tone for my sound this is it. Extremely tight in your face lows. I'm blown away by how each note in every cord articulates even with extreme gain settings. This amp gets harmonic feedback like I used to get on my old Marshall super lead when it was cranked but it gets it at low volume levels. This amp needs a volume boost for leads and it would be perfect.

Reliability : 10
Had it for 2 months now no problems It comes with a lifetime warrenty on everything but the tubes and transformer. Bogner is very strict on you using only specific tubes in their amps. When its time for a tube change if you conact Bogner they will ask for info on the back of your amp and send you tubes biased speciically for your amp.

Customer Support : No Opinion
So far never had to deal with them

Overall Rating : 9
Best amp Ive ever owned If lost or stolen I would buy another soon as I could afford it. There expensive but Im glad I spent the money
Bogner if you read these things put a boost switch on them you got them on all your other amps!

This amp was made in 2002. It has 2 channels,a footswitch with effects loop mute, fiber optic backlight(which I really like)and an effects send and return. It also has 2 speaker outs, and an impedance selector for various cabs.I dont use any pedal effects but I hear it was made with rack stuff in mind so there can be trouble with pedals IN THE EFFECTS LOOP ONLY.I have used a couple of pedals in the past to add variety to my clean sound and ran them direct to my line in and never had any problems.

Sound Quality : 10
sounds sounds sounds!!!! this thing is full of them.At a glance the uber might seem a little over priced considering ther are only two channels. But this notion is left behind once you begin to spend some time with this thing. I play in a melodic hardcore band and we regularly gig as well as practice,so i have had alot of time in live full band settings to disect the sound, but it was when I had it in my home and had ample time to play it and adjust the knobs that I really began to hear the many many tones this amp can acheive. I play a shecter oo6 elite, and a jackson dinky, both with seymore duncans. I'm using the ubercabinet that has 2 vintage 30's and 2 G12T75's. By making even minor adjustments to the settings the head responds with a wide variety of tones. The clean channel can be wet and glassy, or it can be warm and dirty. The hi gain channel has the tightest bass of any thing out there i can assure you. The distortion is in a class of its own. I've played 5150's, recto's, and digital, and to me this thing will chew them all up. Thats not to say those are'nt good amps, their just the most commonly compared. I read someones review and they said this thing was trash, they must've had some kind of damage to their ears, or they're biased because any discerning tone freak will tell you that this amp has some of the most monstrous distortion and individual tone out there.

Reliability : 10
We are gigging all the time so this has done exstensive traveling. Not to mention all the practice hours, and the recording. I have never had problem with mine and have only had to replace the tubes once.As far as overall reliability for me it is a ten.Who knows what can happen playing 200-300 shows a year. But Bogner did'nt make a name for himself by making junk. I'm confident that no matter what the level of touring you'll always be able to fire this thing up and stand out ina cowd of "upper class" amps.

Customer Support : 9
The only service I had done was new tube instalation. But while I was waiting for them to build my cab Sean with Bogner was always freindly, helpfull, and informative. The only gripe for me is that there is only one authorized dealer/servicecenter in the whole state. But a huge bonus is the lifetime warranty, which if i'm not mistaken cannot be matched by any other company.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall this amp is number one for me because of the tone and low end i have searched for. Like I said I have played, used,or know someone with just about evrything out there and again I stand by my testimony that it is in a class all of it's own. The price for the head and mathching cab was a little steep, but i no longer search for that great guitar tone because i have it.

A dual channel amp. A serial fx loop. Four power and five preamp tubes I believe.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Paul Reed single cutaway with treble 7s and a les paul custom 71 black beauty.
I play original music that has flavors of funk, aggressive blues overtones. alt. rock. Some D tuning heavy grooves and chunky circular aggress. rock mostly. Also have a cover gig too.
The clean channel is well "clean!" I liked it. Chimmeyt, tubey and well defined notes.
The distortion is Extremely brutal and for my D tuning and heavy groove stuff-electronica etc, as well as the other music I do this amp should deliver beyond comparison!>

Well, HEre it is. My current rig is this and this is why I had an epifany recently about purchasing this "fun" amp.
It is great for speed picking-aggressive solo construction type stuff. From passing tonal whole tone blues shuffle funky d tuned growling heavies to my clean funk clicky chiken pickn to my alt psycha rocket rides its all here for my to dial and smile!
Having MARSHALL 2203x 100 watt vintage amp which loves modified pedals like my TS9/808 and my SD9 MAXON etc it does it all tonally.
THIS IS WHy I am going to get this ubernautt amp. IT MADE ME SMILE when I played it the other day. My buddy has a Bogner Ecstacy which I agree is more versatile but he runs it wit da eqs all flat so it sounds just like his Marshall JCM combo he has which is great too.
IF YOU OWN A GREAT AMP ALREADY that dials in great tones from vintage to modern like my JCM 2203x with my various pedals/mods that it eats for breakfast with syrup every morn then I HIGHLY recommend this amp if you like that heavy, FUN sound to plug straight into and dial in and have a blast. Shredding is a blast as well and being a tone god heheh I really love this amp all of a sudden. I love both my amps now! ( Or soon to be amp! I have the Marshall now and the Ubvert will be in the heard within a few weeks!
Now If you DONT HAVE another amp then I MIGHT suggest you get or try out the ECSTACY CLASSIC amp by BOGNER which has all tones their from SRV type all the way to TOOL types of chunk and sizzle etc. There you have it. NOW GO TO your local boutique amp shop and piss off the repzs for an hour or two!!!!!!!!! :)

2002 Uberschall head. 100 Watts, lots of power. Two channels, tube driven efx loop. Independent tone and presence controls. Global master. Line out. Footswitch controls channels and can mute the efx loop. There is a channel on this amp called "clean". I'm not sure it is that useful; it's certainly not for what most clean channels are for. The other channel could be called "unclean", and I know what it is for.
We use this in the studio for "new metal". It is one of the better choices for this purpose. I give it a 7 because you could have more features, etc., but most people who want to use this amp will not be sitting around wishing for more features.

Sound Quality : 10
This amp makes a very thick, dense and raspy distortion. If you do not want to sound like a "wall of spears" (the other name for the Gobi desert, by the way), then skip this amp. The tones that this amp is for is thick-tongued, juddering, and reminiscent of a horrific railroad accident. Does this sound of life sound interesting to you? Then do not miss a chance to check this amp out.

In conventional terms, this amp is stiff, relatively quiet, and has decent quality to the production of it's tone. We use the amp in the studio so I don't know what happens if you let beer sign interference go through it.

I do not think this amp should be considered unless you want the "unclean" channel. The first time I sent this into a session, they had a Mesa Single Recto and an old Plexi that weren't cutting it. I sent in Soldano SLO-100, the Bogner Uberschall, and the Bogner Ecstasy Classic. The report I got back was the SLO-100 saved the session, and they returned the Recto and the Plexi when they got the SLO-100 up, but beyond that the Uberschall was called "the freaking bomb". They used the Uberschall all over that project. They used the Ecstasy Classic for clean tones (and sitar....!?) and the original SLO-100 scratch tracks were mostly retaken with the Uberschall although some SLO-100 flavor tracks did make the record And that SLO-100 is not a bad amp mind you. And it is a producer that knows a bit about guitar sounds.

The kids these days... I don't really think I will spend much time playing the Uberschall, because they haven't returned it from the session although the Ecstasy Classic and SLO-100 are back here. But I'm much more interested in playing the Ecstasy Classic anyway.

So I give this amp a 10 for sounds, but only if you understand that this is for the limited sort of sounds this thing makes. It's a tool for that purpose, and it iw a very good tool for that purpose. Unless you want to upset applecarts more than make sensible music, don't get this amp if you want to plug a Tele in and get clean country licks coming out the other end. That will not happen. If on the other hand you want to color only with the black crayons to scare the teacher, then this is your amp.

Reliability : No Opinion
We have depended on it, but we use it in the studio. Sound-wise we hammered the crap out it, but electrically and mechanically we baby our gear. So I won't give a rating.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have no idea.

Overall Rating : 10
I have played a while, but I'm not the player of this amp. I use it as an executive producer. Any time I find a tool that you can really make records with, then I give it a 10. I don't think it would be bad to gig this amp, but I don't think I've ever played a gig that this amp would make sense for.

I bought a 2002, I knew the amp had 2 channels so it wasnt a big deal. The amp was plenty loud for me.

Sound Quality : 3
This amp is trash,I have a varidive pedal that sounds twice as good as the Uberschall even the clean sound.I have used several guitars with good pickups and the thing is a joke.I bought a VHT Pitbull 100 CL EQ to replace it and there is no comparison. The VHT sounds so much better.

Reliability : 3
The uberschall is very tempormental, it kept making static noises, and sent it back to Bogner they said nothing was wrong with it. I tried everything different cord different guitar. I know it wasnt the cab because my other amp head sounds great through it.

Customer Support : 4
Like I said they didnt try to please me they told me that maybe bogner amps are not for me.

Overall Rating : 1
I have been playng guitar for 13 yrs. I have my own studio I know good equipment and the Uberschall is extremely overated. If it was stolen I would jump for joy to collect insurance money.Like I said it doesnt at all compare to the VHT,the Pitbull sounds 100 times better, another amp I suggest checking out is the Koch Multitone. The reason I left this review is that I hate to see someone spend $2300.00 on this amp because you dont get what you pay for.

the soon to be released Bogner Uberscall is straight forward 2 channels, simple layout, nothing fancy, just a simple tone monster.. a pair of 6550's in the power section.. More in depth review to follow..

Sound Quality : 10
Checked it out at Namm using whatever was lying around... Warm glassy clean to pummeling over the top tones with tons of tight low end and rich overtones.. I have had numerous Bogners. ( all models to date except the Metroplis including a few Fish and several different ecstasys .... both the 100 and 101 series.... Uberschall is more aggressive with tighter low end, the Ecstasy is a bit more goooey.) This amp floors me.. I have a 100b now but will have Uberscall too.... when it is available.. It is a great compliment to my existing setup.. gotta have one...

I only checked it out for a while at Namm, so I hesitate to review in much detail and conviction. When I get mine, Im will review it thoroughly..
