I bought the amp new in 1994.
I play a Greek bouzoukee on it, in littke concerts and restaurants. I put it behind me or under my chair. The sound is so natural, people are not aware of any amplifying.
The amp has a micro-input, an instrument-input and a line in, which can be used all together, but there are no mixing facilities. I don't need this.
Very important is the size of this amp! It's so small. Very easy to take with you to any musical circumstance.

Sound Quality : 10
My instrument has an el. magn. pickup (modern sound), and a crystal pickup (for more pure sound). I can switch). For the playing of Greek music the amp is incredible good. There is only one sound: It sounds clear, natural, and it can be put loud, if you like.

Reliability : 10
There are no problems from the moment I bought the amp. It never failes.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
If it were stolen or lost, I would like to buy another one. Anyway: I like to buy 2 of these amps more. But I can never find one second-hand. And Boss is so stupid not making these amps anymore!

Who needs to repair a BOSS product ? Not me...

I had a big Bass Amplifier by Laney, but I wanted a little one to play electronic music with small BOSS machines, and this amp is perfect to plug-and-play in bars or little concert rooms. But it doesn"t have ouput, you must use an external mic to record with it or plug it in a bigger amp.

This is the only amp/monitor that I've seen from Boss.(from which you know is a great multi-effects company)It'snamed the MA-12 micro monitor and has input volume, low boost and high boost. It has three inputs and a push button on/off switch with a LED. It pushes a rated 16 watts through a rubber cone and speaker, and from the way that I've pushed it and recorded it, the speaker is indestructable!! It was used primarily as a practice amp that I aquired from my grandfather when my father took a visit to see family in Florida. There it was used as practice amplifier for different eletronic keyboards. Back says it was made for Roland corp. in Japan, I'm guessing late 80's or early 90's.

This little beast sound wonderful with any guitar! It makes charvel/jackson guitars pull out all that tone put into the high output pickups, brings the beefiness out of Strats and pickup powered acoustics. Very versatile for ALL recording needs but really shines when effects pedals are plugged into it. I use my Vox reissue wah and sometimes my fathers vintage mu-tron phaze 2 and some Big Muffs 'n stuff. Gets incredible sounds, say like your dream rig in a practice wattage form. Really cool when you crank her up and just drive her by a wah. You can get some really classic, Cream-like overdrives. I played this amp for three years straight with just the mu-tron and a Big Jam auto wah AW-2. Every setting of the tone controls are great and theyreally act like boosts. With all the tone controls down with no signal from them there is still a fat sound comin' out of the amp. Not noisy at all and a nice piece of equipment to have if you can find one.

Reliability : 10
Never used it for giging or anything, just practicing and recording. It has no tubes but I swear it sounds so incredibly sweet you won't think of hot glass when you play her.

Never dealt with Boss before. I'm not extremely big with pedals but I kinda look more towards old vintage effects. But this is definetely a keeper cause if it wasn't, I would have gotten rid of it 8 years ago! Hey Boss, if you read this you should make more of these beauties and market them as recording amps because they are wonderful!!

I've been playing strong since I was about 9 or 10 and I'm hitting my senior year at High School. It's been the main part of my playing(that and my charvel/jackson custom '84-They don't make guitars like THESE anymore)since I started and has inproved my playing and given me a different ear towards tone. I sure don't know what's inside that little amp but it just makes everything sound like it should. If it got stolen I'd go look for the kid braggin' about tone cause it's got GLOBS of it.
