I purchased my D'Lite 22 from Moss and Norm "turn-key". They built it for me. Their passion is giving those that want to attempt to, a chance to build a wonderful amp. Their kits are all the buzz on the web site. Incredible instruction and feedback to those that want a hands-on experience. I'm not that guy.

The amp has everything I need. The BrownNote folks have numerous options (variations on the theme).

If you want versatility, the "D" style amp is second to none. I play lots of different types of music in my band and can't think of one song it doesn't compliment.

Two channels with a brite switch. Common tone controls to each channel. PAB control that axes the tone controls and gives you the raw sound of the amp clean and overdriven. Footswitchable channels and PAB.

I have the active effects loop they offer. It works perfectly with my T-Rex Roommate reverb, Scholz Echo, and Fulltone Choral/Flange.

As for "features", it has all I need.

This amp is capable of pristine full-bodied clean to a nice mix of pre-amp clip w/ power amp chunk when playing the clean channel. The Overdrive channel is amazing. Mine can go from subtle OD to really powerful and tight distortion. I've been looking for an amp like this for so long, I can't begin to tell you the gear I've been through. Everyone that hears the amp is amazed at how good it sounds.

It doesn't just nail the Robben Ford/Larry Carlton tone. We play Yes, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Santana, Jethro Tull, and UFO just to name a few artist we cover. I've never had an amp that covered it, if you know what I mean.

Reliability : 10
I've had my D'Lite for about five months. I have a good friend that has built me some wonderful amps. He opened my D'Lite and immediately told me that it was "impressive". Another guy that's an engineer also commented on how clean the build was.

I've gotten to know Moss. He's building me a another amp as we speak. Their forum is a "real-time" platform for builders of their kits. Moss and Norm respond on a daily basis to the questions and concerns of those adventurous enough to buy kits. I'm sure they'll help me out, if I need them.

Customer Support : 10
Moss calls back in a timely fashion. If I needed to go to the front of the class to have my amp ready for a gig, shipping is my only enemy.

Overall Rating : 10
Please understand I'm biased. I have a D'Lite 22. It's fabulous. Every time I turn it on, I smile.

A 2 channel amp, with foot switching, passive effects loop, 3 postion bright switch, 2 position snubber switch, 3 position "magic" switch, push/pull bass tone pot, 4,8, and 16 ohm speaker outputs, and a 6L6 power section creating approximately 33 watts. This is an ALL tube hand wired point to point masterpiece.

Sound Quality : 10
This amp can go from sparkling clean to fat and jazzy. The overdrive and preamp boost settings can deliver everything from smooth and creamy to raw and heavy sounds. The tonal possibilities are endless. I've tried both single coil and humbucking pickups and find it very hard to decide which is best, so I use both! This amp has a very 3 dimensional sound, as if it already has reverb of some sort without actually having a reverb unit. I have never experienced this before with any other amp I've used! I play in a plethora of different styles and it hasn't shown any signs of weakness whether it be jazz, funk, rock, reggae, afro-cuban, or even metal. This amp has a vocal quality like no other!

Reliability : 10
Its built like a tank, but is quite light in weight compared to most amps. I have used it on every gig I have played since getting it, which is about 100 or so gigs. No problems except user error!

Customer Support : 10
I have never experience such unbelievably great customer service ever! You can actually talk straight to the guy who owns and builds these Magical Tone Boxes of Joy! As for warranty goes, I'm confident in any matter that I will be taken care of properly and promptly.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and own some of the nicest sounding amps ever. But I have never experienced what the DLite has to offer! With its remarkable cleans and vocal like distortions, I have finally found my true tone. If it were ever lost or stolen I would have to have a replacement immediately! I can't live without it now. The only thing I hate about it is that I'm gonna have to get at least 2 more! I did compare it to similiar circuits such as Two Rock and Fuchs amps, but found they were missing that something special the Brown-Note DLite Over Drive Special has. The DLite and all of the rest of the Brown-Note line are truely incredible sounding instruments!

This is a must have for anyone! The cleans are super sparkley to fat and jazzy. But the amp really shines in the overdrive and preamp boost sections. The amp has infinite on-demand controlled feedback! It can go from thick and milky to smooth and creamy to raw and brutal. In my opinion it has one of the most vocal style distortions I have ever heard! And it seems to have a 3 dimensional quality in either the overdriven modes or the clean modes.

Reliability : 10
These things are built like tanks! I use it relentlessly!

Customer Support : 10
Best customer service to date! You can talk directly with the owner and builder. Very Nice Guy!

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and own many different amplifiers. All of which are very nice and sound great, but the Brown-Note DLite ODS is hands down the best amp I have ever played! If it was stolen, I would hunt the person down and give them a good talking to! I'd have to get another one ASAP if this unsettling scenario ever occured! I did however compare it to amps based on a similiar circuit like Two Rock and Fuchs, but found the DLite to be more in the game for me!

This amp really sings with sinle coil pickups, although the humbuckers also kick ass. For true tone freaks!

So far not a concern, but Moss at Brown Note is very easy to contact and I have a 5 year warranty

If someone stold this amp, I would hunt them down and chop them into little tiny pieces, then clean the blood off of the amp and start jammin!

It's all tube, very "touch sensitive", and can cover the sweetest clean tones to rockin' overdrive.

Reliability : 10
Totally dependable, doesn't need a backup.

Brown Note is a small amplifier company in Fair Oaks, CA. Customer support is among the best around. Answers come directly from the owner and he will take the time needed to be sure you're satisfied with your amp.

I've been playing for almost 30 years. I've gone thru many pieces of equipment. This amp has "the tone"!!! I would definately replace it if lost/stolen/etc.
