New '98 amp..pretty good for a bunch of different musical styles. Personally I play ska/punk and some metal, and its a good practice amp for that. Floor pedal for the overdrive system and a headphone adaptor in the front. Basically all you need for a practice amp.

I'm using it with a mixture of ska/punk/metal...ie: Sublime and Led Zeppelin mixed together. Its a little nosiy but not annoyingly so, most of the noise is the hum from my strat not from the amp itself. Sounds clean even at high volumes with onl ya little hum, the distortion can be layered w/ two knobs..sounds pretty good and easily adjustable. This amp dosen't discombobulate the sound of my guitar either, it amplifies it straight out. Pretty good sound.

Unless someone decided to bang the thing with a sledgehammer, this baby aint going nowhere. Its pretty solid and well build, it'll take a beating and keep pumping out sound. Seems like a really well - made amp.

Never dealt with the company, but these amps are made by Sam Ash so i'd bet they'd be half-decent with service (I'd probably never need it) with only a little of that normal Sam Ash hassle..like when you bring something in they make you wait 15 minutes to write down what it is. And then another half hour having some guy who dosent tell you anything look at it.. :) Its on a 3 year warranty so if it did break i'd take it back and i'd get fixed or replaced.

Very good practice amp, for the money its excellent. Other amps with the same size, sound and capacity ran for about $169 (specifically marshall) ..and these (i tried them side-by-side) sound just the same. If somehow aliens abducted my amp, i'd probably get another one of these. Been playing for a year now..and since I've had this amp never needed, or really wanted a new one. Probably the next step up would be a professional $1000 amp..because anything else would just be a bigger and louder version of this one.

This amp is made in korea and only sold at Sam ash stores. The amp is pretty versatile for most anything. It has two channels one clean and one distortion, also it comes with reverb. It has one input, a headphone jack and a foot switch jack. Don't try getting a foot switch made by the same company there not available yet. I did find out that the Roland FS1 works fine with it. I use this amp to practice, it seems to be ok at about half volume. If you go beyond the half way mark it gets really muddy. For what I paid for it I think it's a good amp allthough I wish I had more money to spend because they make a 65 watt amp called the Thug which is much better but costs $239.00

I use a combination of guitars with this amp when practicing. I have a Fender Squier Strat, a Fender Squier Telecaster and a Epiphone LP 2. They all seem to to do well considering the size, wattage and price I paid for it. Not much variety it's a small practice amp, Like I said Above I would buy the next size up which is the 65 watt Thug for $239.00, more bang for the buck.

So far I can depend on it, I only had it for two weeks. No broken parts, it seems to be put together pretty good, but only time will tell.

I called the main company as soon as I purchased the amp because I was concerned that I could not get a foot switch. They called right back with the information that the Roland FS1 would work with no problem. Sam Ash has the only rights to this amp right now that I know of.

I've been playing on and off for thirty years. I own a Laney HC50R amp also. This is an excellent amp and I own a crate G20XL amp. I like all my equiptment and would miss losing any of it including the Brownsville 35GR. I would probably purchase another if mine was to disapear or get damaged. I compared a lot of other products and for the money you can't beat this thing.
