I play this head with different guitars, a Telecaster, Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul Custom. I play different styles, from blues to hard rock, progressive etc..
I play this head with an awesome Marshall 1960AX loaded with celestion greenback and it sounds reaaaaaaally good!!
The head is very quite even with great range of gain. The clean is unbelieveble and remain clean even at big volume, crunch starts from a nice warm overdrive to a killer gain good for metal powerchords. The lead channel have 3 settings to cut or boost bass frequency and it kick ass!! You do not need anything else to rock with this head.

60watts, 2 EL34s, three channel switching, fat/bright switch for each channel, separate eq and master volume for each channel, parallel effect loop (not tube driven ! !) and a single rackspace fit in it to link your effect processor?well, definitely it?s a modern concept all valve head with a tons of features.

Uninspiring sounds. Clean are a little beat cold, crunch is the best sounding one but absolutely enable to reproduce (or to approximate) some vintage sounds. Third channel is ultra gain, but quickly become confused and over compressed when you put the volume on higher settings.
It?s an amp that sounds worse all the way you increase the volume. Better suits studio recording situations, but without the grinding power and attack you want to hear from an exoteric all valve < beast > head !
It better suits modern guitars, but only with vintage style guitars (Fender, Gibson, PRS) your sound (always a little bit cold) cuts through the mix. Otherwise a simple Fender, or better, Mesa 15 or 20 valve combo can make a better work with the group. Last, the sound of this head remains in the cab (I listened to it through a 1960 Marshall TV, tall vintage with 4 Celestion Greenbacks). I?ll give this amp 5 because of the price, better than similar products with the same workmanship.

If you want fat vintage sounds or really percussive and open sound look elsewhere ; this head produces a sound that is not characterized on any frequency . If you sound at your home then this amp fit well, ?cause the sound seem big when you don?t have another instrument playing near you and at relatively moderate volume levels.
If you want an amp very easy to control and with a lot of features wihich can fit (but not so well) several musical styles (except blues ! !) this is an amp at a very honest and reasonable price.
