For me a 10 means: with a good guitar and a quality signal cord you will be able to get every wanted tone from this amp. You don't need extra features, just use your guitar volume and expression in your playing.
It's a 2 channel amp with an extra boost on the overdrive channel.
Furthermore there's a 'more volume' control, which gives extra volume to both channels when needed. The beautiful thing is that it keeps your sound like it was ; no boost. So you can use it as a solo volume for both channels.
Other features: bright switch on clean channel, buffered effects loop serial or parallel.
Foot switchable: channel, boost, more volume, effects loop on/off

For me the most inspiring sound is, when used '100% pure', so no effects or other equipment used, just put your guitar direct into the amp. You even don???t miss a reverb: when played on higher levels (stage level) a 3 dimensional sound is produced, with a rich, almost organic tone. A ???must hear??? amp.
The wizard is a Class A amp with 6V6 tubes. So, no high gain but pure rock and blues tones.
Especially channel A is my favorite. A beautifully rich clean tone up until crunch. Try the master volume on 10 and the gain setting on 3. I also used a Robert Keeley Time machine Boost on this channel. In this case you don???t even need channel B anymore, but as mentioned, I like ???no effects???

I never had technical problems but I wanted to try some other tubes.
Marco Brunetti himself answered my e-mail on Sunday! Great, this man has still got the passion in building amps.

I play for 28 years now.
I have used several Marshalls (still have a plexi), Seymour Duncan Convertible 60, Mesa Boogie Mark I, Fender Princeton etc.
This is a modern Boutique amp, so high quality sound with lots of features.

Beautiful full clean, nice crunch, and gain sound, all in one amp and switchable! Lows could be more tight in boost mode.

Brand new two channel Class A all tube amp with lots of features; very very versatile. To name a few: channel switching, foot switchable parallel en serial effectloop, two master volumes, gain switch on both channels, solo volume (foot switchable), bright switch, boost on overdrive channel, etc. It is 'only' 35 Watt but I can tell you: it is loud. And more importantly, it sounds great at low volumes as well.
It is not a high gain amp (which 6v6 is suitable for high gain anyway), but it provides me with the best 'classic' tones I have heard in a long time.
I would have liked to have a boost on both channels. So no 10 here. But a 9 is a fair and well deserved score.

I played this amp with a tele and a strat and I heard some else play a Les Pauls thru it. They all sounded great. This may well be the perfect amp for all those players searching for classic 60's tones. The clean is full amp warm. More 'tweed' than 'blackface'. Even on the clean channels you can go from light crunch to moderate distortion (think Keith R). The gain channel picks up from there. One of the things I likes most in this amp is that both channels have the exact same character and color. This is not two amps in one, but one great amp with tons of sound options. As mentioned the distortion will not take you into Shredders paradise, but there are great plexi tones hidden in this Italian masterpiece.
I play mostly blues and rock and this amp is perfect for that. It gives me the cleans that I love from my Bogner Shiva, but the gain sounds are more transparant and not too 'rocky' The Wizard has two great master volumes. No bedroom switches, but you can get a great gain sounds without ripping out your eardrums.

This is a brand new amp. On the inside it looks solid. Very well built. I would and will take it out on gigs without a backup (but with spare tubes of course)....

I have never owned a lot of different amp, but I have played and heard dosens. Dr Z, fender, marshall, fuchs, custom audio, bogner, you know it. I love my Shiva but the moment I heard the Wizard, I knew that I had to have this amp. I always considered players writing about the 'sound they here in there head' a bit pathetic. But now I know what they mean. I am no virtuoso. I even wonder if I deserve an amp like this. But in a way, this amp plays itself. And every time I hit the strings it puts a grin on my face: is this really me?
