Brunetti maranello: made in Italy (2005). 20 watt all tube amp. 2 channels; clean = volume-bas-mid-treble, overdrive = gain, bas-mid-treble-volume. (so 9 knobs in total) Serial fx-loop (you can turn in wet of dry signal: knob on backside), footswitch, 3 12ax7, 2 EL84 (all JJ electronic's) Presence knob on backside (I turn it up when I am playing at low volume and set it a little bit lower when I turn up the volume) 12 inch custom jensen speaker. I love the weight... 14 kilo, thats something like 30 lbs.
I think thats all. Also check the brunetti site.
I'll rate 9 out of 10. It hasn't that much options, but what it has, is great and I like the low weight. It was just what I was looking for; a simple but 2 channel amp whit separate eq.

Clean is great, overdrive is very good... I know it's all about taste, but if youre looking for an amp in this price range, please check it out!!! Clean get's distorted at high volumes pretty much. The distortion is high gain, no doubt. Very brutal. I play all sorts of music, in my opinion the only style it doesnt do great is metal. The amp is not noisy compared to other tube amps. (there all noisy in a way)
I rate 9 out of 10 points, because there are better sounding amps, but I didn't find them in this price range (799,- euro's new price)

I always gig whit it without a back-up, trust it completely. I do not even own an other amp. Never broken down on me and I do expect it will stay like that for some years... (change the power tubes every 2 of 2.5 years and it will do great)

play for 5 years now. This is my second tube amp, I learned from my first amp and knew what I was looking for, tried all sorts of amps and ended up with the brunetti maranello.
If stolen or lost, i'd probably look for an even less powered amp. (something like 5 or 7 watt's) because I use my amp always with pa and monitors.
I love the double eq. Hate the fact that I never can use it on its full power because it's so very loud!
I rate 9 out of 10 points becease nothing is perfect and there is ALWAYS a better amp somewhere.

Enough features, especially for such s small amp. I miss a reverb since i use this amp at home. The effect loop colors the sound depending on the amount of effect you "let trough". No problem for me thougt, i use it at 100%. I think it isn't such a good idea to have the presence control on the back panel, especially your fingers will have to search for them, and the output tubes are very close...

I was looking for a very versatile amp, and this one is! The Jensen speaker isn't that good, i had it changed for a Celestion vintage 30. This accentuated both the bass (tighter) and the top end (more glassy). The amp is equally usable with single coils and humbuckers, just play with the presence knob. Great with single coils! Reacts very well to various stomp-boxes.
It also has more than enough gain and EQ-possibilities to make a humbucker guitar sing at reasonable (bedroom) levels.
Not so suitable for metal, and since the clean channel stays clean with the Celestions, not a blues amp. You can use stomp-boxes for that...

class A 25 watt valve amp with 2x 12AX7's in preamp and EL84's in output stage. Has 2 channels, each with own eq. Effects loop on the rear with image control (same as a presence control, makes it sound crisp). Jensen custom design speaker and a 16 Ohm speaker out. Included Footswitch. The only thing this amp doesn't have is reverb, who needs reverb?!? (if you really want it you can just get a holy grail reverb, sounds amazing!) This amp is perfect fo using at home and for practices/small gigs!

I use an Epiphone les paul custom plus with stock Humbuckers into a origonal Marshall Guv'nor pedal (for a Marshall stack sound). This amp is not noisy and you can get some incredibly nice sounds through the clean channel (think Vox AC 30) and naturally overdirves at arround 5 and 6 for a nice cruchy sound. It is also very bassy with the 12" speaker letting the high's ring out! The Overdrive channel goes from a mild overdrive to a fairly heavy rock distortion apparently sounds very mesa-like. Definetly an amp that anyone (appart from metal-heads) should consider getting!

nothing has been wrong with this amp, very slight buzzing of the springs keeping the EL84's in, but this is only when you are trying to listen for it, you don't notice it normally, but that's nothing to worry about. This amp is perfectly fine! i have had it since christmas. No need to contact Brunetti.. yet, i'm sure i wont need to!

It has 2 channels - clean and drive, 25w , Jensen 30w, 3x 12AX7A on preamp 2x EL84 on clean channel, effects loop, external box output. Footswitch included.
Vey nice feature is image knob on the back. Its some kind of treble booster. Turn it clockwise and you can play leads.
It has independable eq settings for each channel.
Handmade in Italy. Its more Class AB than A.
Its very well made. It also looks very nice( its Italian ).

It works fine with both hambucker or single coil style guitars. Clean channel is very punchy. You can get various sounds if you turn eq knobs. Clean channel can sound like VOX on some U2 albums or Gilmour with strat type guitar, or jazzy with humbuckers. OD channel is good but not so good as clean channel. Amp is also very loud for 25w.I like clean channel a lot because its very crisp and has a lot sustain. I played Blues junior and H&K Tube 20 before, but Brunetti sounds a lot better. For that kind of money you can not buy better amp.

Her a additional review to the review I made earlier. Now I have made a lot of gigs with this amp and a lot of recording work.

Normally I play acoustic guitars directly into the PA. I tested the Brunetti Maranello with my Martin DX1 and my Ovation. The sound of this acoustic instruments is more smooth and has a lot of more feeling with the very good clean channel of the Maranello. Be careful with the gain only; not more than 50 percent of volume. After that the amp begins to get crunchy. So this amp is astounding versatile too.
After experimenting a lot with the very smooth equalization, I have some suggestions and updates for setting the sound. The Maranello is a little bit bassy with humbucking guitars, so I play my Epiphone 335 Dot Studio with bass at the 10 o clock position or less. With the Tele, I play in 11 bass, 14 middle, 11 treble position (best twang...) on the clean channel.
The incredible good overdrive channel I described earlier. Additional: With a Marshall Blue Breaker 2 in that channel you can get a hell of deep drop D sounds too. Using the Image control (on the rear) in Max position, there is a endless sustain in a dirty but very balanced distortion, a little bit equal to a Boogie, but different to that. In comparison to other Class A amps, the Maranello is more efficient in sound and more "open".

I own the Brunetti Maranello since November 2005. This amp is a 2 channel (clean and overdrice). Input on the left front. The clean channel from left to right: Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble. Then there is a channelswitch with a built in led to show the channel selection status. Overdrive channel: Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume. Belonging to this channel is a Image Control. That is the presence for this channel. On the right side of the front are the Standby (called Go) and Mains switches.
This amp has a extremely good made wooden construction. The coverage is made of a fine leather. This amp has 25 Watt RMS. EFX Send/Return on backside with Mixing Control. Speaker out 16 Ohm. Channel selection footswich included. Missing: Reverb.

For this size it is a very load amp: about 115 db at one meter and volume 2/3 open (both channels tested). No problems to play in a hardrock band. The speaker is a custom designed Jensen with a full and rich tone. Clean channel: A lot of different sounds possible (use the tone controls). Warm and rich, one of the best clean sounds I ever had. The overdrive channel is very versatile and you may choose from crunchy blues sounds up to very heavy Drop D settings a lot. With the image control on the backside the behaviour of the overdrive changes to a hard distortion, giving a full pack of treble boost. This amp surely beats other amps that cost the twice.
Now to some additional infos: I use a Electro Harmonix Holy Grail to add reverb to this amp (using the efx send / return on the back of the Maranello). This combination is very very good, better than some other amps with built in spring reverb. Between guitar and amp I have a Marshall Blues Breaker 2. So I have made me 4 channels :-) for clean, crunchy, lead and heavy lead sounds. The sustain, smoothness and pressure is unbelievable for an amp of this size.

I play guitars since 1981 and have a lot of equipment.... Vox AC30, Roland Cube 60, the old Fender Twin Reverb. I owned a lot of other amps too but I sold them. A have a lot of guitars and effects (Fender, Epiphone, Yamaha, Martin, Ovation). This amp is very useful to play different styles. It beats all the amps which are using amp simulations (like cube 60). It sounds better than my other amps. And it is better crafted. This amp works very fine with Humbucker and Single Coil Guitars. So its your choice.

Check out the Brunetti web site for full details of the spec.
I play rock music mostly (occasionally blues, occasionally metal) and this amp fits my needs perfectly. Between the two channels, it can produce a pretty wide range of sounds.
It came with a footswitch and there's a useful LED on the front panel of the amp to tell you which channel you're on.
Things I miss are: Reverb (I stick a pedal in the effects loop); headphone socket
I use the amp both at home and for live use.
I've rated it 7 for the missing reverb and headphone socket.

I use a US Jackson (PC1) and a Japan made "Prestige" Ibanez (SZ series). Both guitars have humbuckers and neither produce much noticeable noise through the Maranello. It's not completely quiet, but I wouldn't expect it to be.
The clean channel breaks up nicely when really cranked (think Vox AC30 territory). Stick a decent cleanish overdrive in front of it to get some really great blues lead tones. In general I've found myself reducing the bass a lot on the clean channel as it can sound a bit bassy at times. It may behave differently with Single Coils.
The overdrive channel sounds a bit like a Mesa Boogie I suppose. The Image Control (prescence) on the back panel really changes the sound of the overdrive channel - from crisp overdrive to fuzz like tones. It's all great! This channel never gets muddy like some amps do.
As with any valve amp it benefits from being cranked up, however you can still get some decent low(ish) volume sounds.
One day I'll try it with an extension cab....

I've played for about 20 years (on and off). For the price I paid I don't see anything better for what I need - but I may have got lucky on the price (EBay). I tried Laney LC30, Marshall DSL401 and the new Randall valve amp (can't remember the model). This little Brunetti blows them away (the Laney came 2nd).
I love the sounds it produces and the fact that it only weighs 14kgs!
It's really a superb amp. Not many of them in the UK, but if you get a chance to give one a go don't miss the chance.

It's a Class A 25 watt tube amp with 2 channels, clear and overdrive.
Comes with a foot switch and you can switch manually. Clean channel comes with vol/bass/mid/treble knobs. Overdrive comes with gain/bass/mid/treble/volume knobs. Has a On/off and standby switch, input jack on the front. Rear panel features channel footswitch jack/ effect loop with mix know, and "image" knob (tone function) and a 16 ohm external speaker jack. What i miss is reverb and a direct headphone output. For the rest it's everything you'll need.

I mostly play rock/hardrock and blues and i really love the clean sound, it's very warm and direct, the clean channel becomes distorted once you turn the volume up. It's 25 watt, but makes a hell of a lot noise, i barely use it at my home because neighbours complain when the volume is over the 2. Good enough for small gigs and rehearsals but with anything bigger an extra cab is neccesary. The overdrive channel sounds very nice aswell, actually this one beats the marshall amps in my opinion, however if you want to play metal or anything with very heavy distortion this is not the thing you are looking for.

However i've played over 20 amps for a long long time before buying this one, this one came out on top over a long stroke of other labels. It this one is at it's end i would buy the Brunetti mc2, as my first option would be, however, my bank account didn't really agree with it. After all i am still happy i bought this one.

Bought a new amp a wekk ago (2003). 2 Channels with channel switching, the 2nd one from soft crunch to hard rock (not really high gain). a parallel/serail efx loop, no reverb. i'd liked a spring reverb. my styles are jazz and blues. the amp gives me a warm clean jazz tone or a searing blues and works very good with my ts 9. for 25 watts its relally loud. good for playing in a band, but you might need a mic in front to fight the drummer.

i use almost anything from gibson es175 and l-5 to strats, teles, prs. tried the amp with tele, strat and es-175. with the es-175 you can get a classical jazz tone, no problem. with tele and strat anything from jazz to heavy blues and rock. no metal.
the clean channel does not distort itself, but the el-84s can be overdriven, which is excllent for blues tones.

Front panel:ON-OFF and Stand by switches,Clean channel controls: vol.,bass, middle, treble;Overdrive channel: gain, bass, middle, treble, vol.
Rear panel:image(some kind of presence),efx mix for efx loop, ext speaker output.
I really miss:gain control on the clean channel, headphone output on the rear panel and a boost option for solos on the footswitch!
VERY LOUD for bedroom use, not loud enough for band-use: you'll need an extension cab or a mic in front of the speaker to let your friend understand what the hell you are playing.

This amp has a great tone for Blues! The clean channel is unbeliveable but it gets distorted very quickly. We are talking about a complete in -your -face sound, great for solos, too strong for chords if you don't use your guitar volume knob too calm down the situation.
The overdrive channel has a great tone and great dynamic too, strange to believe but it's less powerful than the clean one and you need to turn up the volume knob much more than on the clean channel to get the same output volume.
The speaker is top-quality,maybe a little bit too "light" to carry all the 25 watts of power.

If this amp were stolen I would replace it with a Brunetti MC2 wich has great tone too but with is three channels and 50 watt is more versatile.
I like the sound and dynamic of Maranello, but I really need more features.Anyway this amp is better made and sounds better than the 90% of the famous brands you can find in the majority of guitar stores. This is made to play music, not noise.Great as a recording amp,not enough panel-and -footswitch options to gig around playng different styles.
I don' give it a 10 just because of the poor features.

You get all you need but really nothing more.

My gear: ibanez starfield(with hotrails- really high gain)->morley wah->marshall jackhammer(for crunch)->amp(with ibanez delay in the fx loop). Well, at first let's try to be critical: this amp has a great distortion(one of the best i have ever heard, and i'm not a metal-head), but you'll get ONLY a tone, i. e. a dark and defined sound (mesa-like). You can listen it on "linea 77" italian band records. Stompbox will help... Then, the clean channel with the volume over 5 gets heavily distorted, but this is normal for a low power tube amp. i'll give it a 8 because i really love the tone.
