I've used this amp for 2 years with Fender Stratocaster American Std Gibson sg & ES335 and Fender Telecaster MIM.
Pirata gives the best with Humbuckers and manoghany wood because this head has a lot of Hi-gain with a full bass frequency response and a great tone stack perfect for the players who search a Rock/Metal sound alternative to the Mesa Boogie and Marshall Style, I guess Pirata's tone could be put in the middle of them.the best results are reached with Celestion v30 that give the right compression to the sound!
Clear sound is awesome, fender inspired with a lot of dynamic and the possibility to obtain a beautiful mellow crunch!
the only catch is that if you want hear the real pirata's sound you have to put the master volume after the 12 o'clock, before it sound wishy-washy
