Same features as the two amps listed below. The bottom submission was from me in 2001. Yes, this is my second Bruno Super 100. Another masterpiece from Tony the "tonemeister". Tony and his amps are like fine wine, they just keep getting better with age.

The amp is different sounding as you might expect from the first S100.
The amp built in 2001 was modeled after Cross's amp. The amp has an amazing clean tone leaning towards a SS-Singer. The overdive is very sweet.

The new S100 amp in the aersnal has been built with the focus on the overdirve. It still has a great clean tone, but this is not where I had Tony place the focus.

The overdrive specials, besides bieng very expensive, were all different. There was always a trade off for either clean or overdirve. If you wanted a great clean, the amp had less gain, if you wanted a hotter overdrive you got an amp built with more gain and less clean. Everyone of them was a little different. Of the three I owned each one had it's own emphasis either on the clean or on the overdrive.

In the overdrive of the new S100 the sound is a little hotter, more focused. There is less clean than the first amp, it still has a nice clean but it was built with more emphasis on the overdrive. So how does the new S100 overdrive sound. With a strat the amp can deliver dead on SRV tones, with an RF guitar RF tones and with a 335, the tone you would expect to hear. This new amp is more versatile than any other ODS I played through. You really need to a/b one the S100's against an ODS. Of all the other clones out there they don't come close to the dynamics of either S100 I own. There is a unique tonal quality, sonic signature in Tony's amp, a real hi-fi quality of sound that not even the ODS can deliver. This new S100 has a better overdrive than any of the ODS's I owned. The first S100 I bought has a better clean tone than any of the ODS's I owned.

I recently had an ODS skyline eq for sale. I was lucky that nobody ever a/b'd the ODS with the Bruno, if they did I would still have the amp. A question you need to ask yourself do you want to buy an amp for the name or for the tone. The last ODS with skyline eq was sold purely for the name, it was a real buzz box, think first generation solid state amp from the sixties, trust me I'm not joking. Both Bruno's are in a league of their own, Tony has taken a tonal ocncept and improved on it and then some. A local palyer, Victor, has one of Tony's S100 EL34 amp another sonic monster. That amp along with all of Tony's amps that I have heard has this nice sonic thread running thru each of his S100's that I do not hear in other amp of this type including the ODS.

Reliability : 10
The amp is new, but if my first amp is any indication of what I can expect, I seriously doubt that I will have any problems with the amp. The first S100 has been a real road warrior firing up every night without any issues and delivering incredible tone. I will put the new S100 to the test as I'm ready to leave for the UK/Europe.

Both Super 100's are from Gene Sinigalliano and Ken Volpe at Ultra Sound Music in New York www.ultrasoundrehersal.com. Look at my first review, I still feel the same. Tony, Gene and Ken are a class act. I will still continue to do my amp business with them. Why? Because they really know how to support thier products. Everyone is saying the same thing about them as I'm. I know I can get service today and not have to wait unresonable lengths of time like some other manufacutres or stores can make you wait. If you want the best service look no further.

Overall Rating : 10
Another stellar amp from Tony. What's better than 1 S100? How about 2 unique sounding Bruno S100 amps. I leave you with a tough decision, want clean go for the Cross style S100, want a more agressive overdirve go for Tony's newest S100 it is a real tonal monster. There is nothing out there that can match Bruno's sonic quality.

It has Rock or Jazz selector. That is funny. B, M, T, and Presence. Input Volume, and Master. Edge, and Lead Rhythmn are in the back, but both are controlled by a foot switch(included). 4-8-16. Easy to use.

THE BEST SOUNDING AMP IN THE DUMBLE-LIKE MARKET. IT IS FAITHFUL IN SOUND. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT.... IT SOUNDS EXACT TO THE GREATEST AMP BUILDERS SPECS IN A GENERAL WAY!! (Dumble made each amp for the guy that was buying it.. They are all different. That is why he is Dumble). This is amazing!! It is very very very close to a Dumble. It gets no better.

Reliability : 10
It looks good. I will comment more on that in 20 years or 2000 shows!!!

A+++ This guy is cool. Tony and Gene from Ultrasound in NYC. Great guys. Always around to talk and fix problems.

Overall Rating : 10
This is something too good for words. I am speechless. If you have the money to throw around, it is one of the 10 amps that are in their own league. Hear it. We all have our own ears, so maybe you would like something else better, but no one other the Dumble and Ken Fischer impress me as much as Tony Bruno. Not bad company!!

I just receive this wonderful amp made by Tony Bruno. The amp is a brand new super 100 6L6 model. I play blues, rock, jazz and country and the amp does an outstanding job accommodating the various playing styles. The amp is a 2-channel amp with the same layout as an Overdrive Special. It has a built in line buffer/effects loop. The amp has four 6L6's and is very loud. I have already used it for live playing and the amp cuts through nicely. It can handle any situation. This is a remarkable amp made by a very talented Amplifier Maker - Tony Bruno, it is pure genius. Yes I really like this amp, it is incredible.

I have been playing guitar since the sixties, a very long time. I'm primarily a single coil player. I play a mix of Tele's and Strats along with an early sixties 345 with paf's with the stock varitone, the guitar is wired mono. I also use a set neck Tele and 2 new Baker guitars, a B1 and a B1 Varitone. The Bruno super 100 has no preference for single coil or humbuckers. It brings out the best of both. Single coils sound like single coils, humbuckers never sounded so good. The amp is very smooth and powerful. There are several people making clones of overdrive specials, they have captured part of that elusive tone but have not captured it completely. The super 100 is an exact replica/copy of an overdrive special used by Christopher Cross. I played/owned an overdrive special back in the mid-eighties (pre skyline EQ). The super 100 has nailed the tone, unlike other makers who have claimed they have. The clean channel is fatter/warmer than the overdrive special I owned. The amp does not have reverb, and you will not miss it. All the other clones need reverb to mask the tonality that is missing. The super 100 has very rich harmonics, I can't believe the quality of sound. You can roll off the volume on your guitar or play the amp at low volume and all the same dynamics you are expecting to hear our there. You owe it to yourself to hear this amp, you will be amazed. The overdrive has a different sound than the overdrive special I owned, but it is wonderful, in fact I like it better, it has the signature Overdrive Special sound, it is dead on. The treble, middle, bass, gain etc., has the same identical nuances as an overdrive special, they have the same range and sound identical. I know this amp is more expensive than the other clones, but I need to tell you this is not a clone it is an exact replica in every sense of an overdrive special. You owe it to yourself to hear one of these marvelous amps before you lay out any money. Why spend up to $18,000 on an overdrive special when you can have exactly the same thing, just in a different cosmetic package. The super 100 is the real deal. Previous to the Bruno Super 100 I owned an emerald pro, The two-rock was a nice sounding amp but can't match the sonic quality of the super 100. If a really clean channel is not a priority for you as it is for me and you want even more gain in the overdrive channel , check out Tony?s Super 100 EL34 model. With out a doubt, this will be my next purchase.

Reliability : 10
The amp is new, and is built like a tank. I seriously doubt that I will have any problems with the amp. Tony used all the same parts, transformers, caps, etc., as you would find in an overdrive special. They are identical that is why this amp has the tone and the others have failed in capturing the true sound.

I bought The Super 100 from Gene Sinigalliano at Ultra Sound Music in New York www.ultrasoundrehersal.com, I can?t tell you what a pleasure it was dealing with him. Gene is a true gentleman, a very rare breed in the music business. Gene is very knowledgeable about amps, he knows his tone. I've had many discussions with Gene about old tweeds, tube selection, and I'll tell you that he knows what he is talking about. If you are looking for an amp and Gene can't provide it, it doesn't exist. All my future amp purchases (by the way I live in California/LA) will be with Gene, he is very professional, and it was very pleasurable doing business with him. I have been in the music business for a long time and there are only a handful of good music dealers with good ethics, knowledge and reliability, Gene is one of those people, on a scale of 1 to 10, he is easily a 20+.

Overall Rating : 10
The Bruno super 100 is a 10+. I have other amps that I've held onto because of their sound quality. This amp is definitely a keeper. Of all the tweeds and other amps I own this has the best fidelity of any one of them, especially in the clean channel. This amp is worth every penny. The good thing about the Super 100 if it was ever lost or stolen it could be replaced, this is one of Tony Bruno's standard models. This amp is very touch sensitive and it will reward players with good technique, it will amplify with 1000% (yes one thousand percent) accuracy how you play. The amp is very quick, very powerful and very smooth, it is remarkable. If your making a list of things to do during your lifetime, playing a Super 100 needs to be on every good guitarist list, it will be a very rewarding experience to play one and even more rewarding one to own one of these fine hand crafted musical amplifiers.
