Bruno Super 100 Head

2007 Super 100 handmade by one of the greatest amp builder.
I 'm very critical toward expensive boutique amps (this one lists at hefty 5900 USD) and Super 100 was thoroughly tested before decision to buy it.
It has several characters built in 2 channels.
Incredible cleans known from late 60s Fenders, but in its own unique voicing.
Crunch and smooth distortions are from heaven.
It is simple, but well designed amp.

Superb, in Dumble cleans category, very full sound.
Reasonably low noise. Tone controls are very efficient.
This is not metalhead amp, but it covers all ground extremely well.

Built like German tank.

I don't know many amps that may compete with Bruno in cleans department, Komet comes to mind, but it's mere matter of taste.
Overdiven it has no competition for sweet, smooth leads.
It's my favorite amp and I have plenty of them to compare.
For very serious playing don't miss chance to try Bruno.

I have (2) Bruno Super 100's. One is 6L6 and the other is EL34. They have 2 channels. Clean and lead. A Multi-pin 2 way foot switch for clean or lead channel boost and clean/lead
channel switching.

Clean channel controls include Volume, Master Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence controls; Bright, Mid, and Bass boost switches, and a channel boost that can be activated by the rear panel or foot switch.

Lead channel has gain and level and you can use the master volume. A channel boost can be activated by the rear panel or foot switch. The tone controls listed with the clean channel also work for the lead channel.

Sounds amazing. Both of them. That is why I bought a second. Great amps. Tone of Stevie, Larry, Robin, etc. Nails it much better than any of the competition. Tony went though many amps designing this amp. it is very special. Must be heard to be believed.

One of them has a crakle sound on the gain channel when the master is cranked. Maybe there is just too much gain, but it is annoying and I need to get it looked at.

Tony has fixed a Cowtipper I bought for me when it had trouble. I still have to send him the one super 100 that has the issue listed above, but I know he will deal with it like he had the tipper.

There are the best at doing that sound. There is not other. Other than the real thing which is $50,000 these days, so this is the only realistic amp that gets that tone to die for.

As are all Tony Bruno amps, this one was handmade just a few weeks ago (100 watt Tube head). This amp can ROCK and has the sweetest clean channel since Dumble!!(Stevie Ray Vaughn!!) Tony is a fanatic about tone, one good listen and you'll know what I'm talking about. The 2 button foot switch is used for channel switching and a tone bypass switch (nice extra boost with extra midrange). The amp does not have it's own reverb but there is an effects loop. This tube amp comes stacked with 4 6L6's and can be used for ANY situation. Whether you're in a jazz club, blues club, rock club or MSG this amp has the power and tonal qualities that true professionals demand.

What can I say? Tony Bruno is a MASTER of tone and it is undeniable. I use a Les Paul Standard, Fender Strat ('62 reissue), Gibson ES-335 and a Fender American Telecaster. I have used this amp for great "meat and potatoes" rock and roll, jazz, blues and funk. I have yet to find a noise that comes from the amp that was unwanted or disliked. No extra noise or hums. There is a grounding switch on the front panel which can eliminate any grounding problems. The clean channel is clean and it stays clean. The gain channel has great smooth distortion. I've played Fender amps, Mesa Boogie and Marshall; this is the first amp where you have that great kick-ass distortion but you will NOT muddy up. The tone of your guitar is preserved and you can get some great teeth clenching distortion out of the amp.

this amp is still fairly new to me but because I know that Tony Bruno hand-makes all his amps, I am not worried AT ALL. I realize how much care is put into creating product donned with you name on it and Tony realizes that too.

Again this amp is still fairly new but....since the amp is handmade by Tony and his crew I know that any repairs (if necessary) are done by the man himself. Tony is very courteous and stands behind all his product.

I've been playing for 12 years. I've played Fender amps, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Crate, Peavey and plebty of others that I can't remember. This amp has the best tonal qualities of any amp that I've ever plugged my 6 string into. I highly recommend this amp who cares AT ALL about tone - and since not everyone and their grandmother have Tony Bruno amps, you can truly achieve a unique tone. This is a quality, handmade (in USA) tube guitar amplifier.
