I purchased this new in Dec '06. My other amp is a Marshall Jubilee 25|55 w/ EL 34's that had fantastic tone. I went with the Budda based upon reputation, simplicity, and the 2x12 configuration. I play rock (all types) semi-professionally and find that this amp is very well suited for my playing style. I prefer to have a simpler amp that does a few things very well vs. a lot of things 'so-so'. I use pedals to customize my sound after that. This is a loud amp at 80 Watts compared to my Marshall at 100 Watts. However, all volume levels sounds excellent. This is not an amp that needs to be pushed to 10 to sound 'right'. At 5 you can keep with with a loud rhythm section in a packed club and your neck hairs will stand on end. So far the only feature I would add would be LEDs indicating the current channel (on the amp and on the pedal).

Sound Quality : 10
The clean channel can do what you want and does it exsceptionally well -- lots of headroom or gritty based upon the settings. With a good overdrive pedal or two you can get a ton of great sounds out of this channel. The drive channel is simply amazing -- outstanding note definition; flexible, responsive tone controls. I would say it has the best elements of a Marshall (EL34) and a Boogie (6L6) based amp. I play various guitars ranging from Les Pauls to Teles and they all sound they way they should. This amp brings out the best in the guitars vs. 'coloring' them. The effects loop is excellent -- modulation effects sounds better than through the Marshall. This is also a quiet amp compared to my Marshall.

Reliability : No Opinion
The amp is too new to provide much detail here, but if you're going to spend money on an amp this good you would expect realiability and Budda's reputation is strong in this area -- another reason I went with them. Of course - buy a case for it!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't needed to contact support for anything, but again -- Budda's reputation is strong in this area -- another reason I went with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 23 years. I am exepctionally pleased with this amp so far. It has exceeded my expecations and I believe it is worth the price tag. I would absolutely recommend this amp and would purchase it again.

Purchased as alternative contasting sound to my Mk I, II, III Boogie combos. Used for rock. I give it a high rating for features in that this is the zenith of the "LESS IS MORE" type of amplifier in that although it is not crammed full of ancillary controls, what is does offer works incredibly well. All controls have a broad range of function in all combinations. 2 channels with channel switching. No reverb (not available). (2) Budda speakers. Ohm switch. Wonderfull effects loop.

Sound Quality : 10
Zion, PRS, Hamer guitars. Various quality effects: keeley comp> Fulltone FM2> budda wah>ernie ball VP junior volume> Amp input.
Two Visual Basic H2Os > Boss RV-5 reverb> effects loop.
Sound fantastic. Extremely quiet. Loves effects both in the front and in the loop.
VERY LOUD!!! I recommend using the Hotplate (16 ohm here) which seems to work very well.
Great range of sound/tone. Channel 1 can be clean and chimey to AC30ish.
Channel 2 will do everything a rocker will ever need. Warm, gusty, knarly, dark .....it does it all. Incredible picking response. It will make you play better, or at least differently from what you have been used to. The mid scoop function is a real nice addition and adds a new complexity to the overdrive section.
Metal?? Comes very very close, but may need to incorporate additional OD pedal for that.
TONE TONE TONE.......it is a tone machine.

Reliability : 8
No problems yet, seems to be well built.

I have had several questions for Jeff at Budda east. He has always responded the same day and I never felt he was in a hurry to get off the phone and made sure he addressed my concerns. Very nice fellow.

I am a professional engineer by day, musician by night. I have been playing 39 years, 4 of those full time on the orad after I graduated many years ago.
I have been playing the Boogie Mark series since 1981 and currently have and srill use Boogie Mark I, IIB and III (black dots).I have no plans to abandon them whatsoever, but the Budda offers another dimension that I am addicted to.
If it were lost or stolen I would hunt one of these down immediately.
I chose this amp from because the glowing reviews and a convincing test drive at our local dealer. I love it so much I am most likely going to purchase a Budda Superdrive 18 II to add to the family!!!

COMPLAINTS: If I had to complain about anything I guess it is I wish it had tougher hardware on the cabinet. Also, would like to have the scooped mid-range section of the lead channel foot switchable. But these are fairly PICKY items.

This is just a great, basic boutique rock combo with killer tones and variety of sound in a simple but highly effective package. Without reserve, I would highly recommended this amplifier.
