Budda 30W Verbmaster: point to point hand wiring
inputs: "high gain", normal
pre/power amp controls: Volume (non-master), bass, treble
reverb controls: Sand/surf switch (dry/wet reverb); reverb level
on/off, standby switch.
This is the earlier 30W version that is no longer produced, Budda only makes 18w versions now of their twin, verb masters.
4 12AX7 preamp tubes, 2 6L6 power amp tubes, 1 5AR4 rectifier tube.

Sound Quality : 10
Works GREAT with both humbucker and single coil pickups. Have a Hamer Mirage and Blade Levinson RH4. Amp is very quiet, and the clean head-room is uncrushable! Very nice chime on the attack, and the reverb has a very natural decay. This is a very clean amp, and will crunch naturally only at high volumes with the 6L6 driven hard (2:00 on)volume). With overdrive pedal (Fulltone Dulldrive 2) pushing amp, can get a nice creamy mid-rangey sound. Amp provides very good pallette of tones to play with by itself too - midrangy spank, twang, ect, overall very versatile in theclean arena. Tone is GREAT!

Reliability : 8
Because theis a class A amp, the tube life tends to be slightly shorter than usual... actully, it's slightly shorter than other class A amps I've known (maybe this amp runns hotter than classified 30W?). surprisingly, the revreb tube tends to go microphonic somewhat quickly too (tried Svetlana, JJ, Groove Tube-Sovtek), this causes massive uncontrollable feedback if the tubes aren't changed often. I've managed to shake a sodder joint loose during a move, and also blow out the fuse a few times too. But overall, very solid. The sodder joint costs litle to fix; but replacement tube costs on the other hand... (on a separate note: Buddas are self biasing, so you can swap in tubes yourself without having to play with some bias knob)

Budda is incredible! My emails get answered by Jeff (Budda's amp designer) within the day, nd my phone calls yielded good suggestions for repairs. Absolutely wonderful.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a fantastic fantastic amp. BEst single channel amp out there, can out black face a black face!

1999,
I'm looking for CLEAN tone as I play Merle Travis style fingerpicking and only play one Lyle song that uses distortion in the intro and I'll buy a box for that.I bought it from a local Philly music store where the salesman told me kids just walk on by it on their way to the Marshall stacks and fenders. OK by me! I traded a Victoria w/o verb and an Evans w/verb and preamp (nice feature that should be in more amps...my perfect amp would weigh 300 lbs with all the xtras).
Power? I only got it up to 1/2 before my ears started to bleed.I could play a gig in Jersey without leaving my house.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using an Epi dot which I am up grading using Anderson pu's and a bunch of non sonic improvements. We play western swing and acoustic blues and lots of finger picking arrangements, but no loud r&r.The tone on this thing is beautiful. I can't think of enough superlatives to throw it's way. It is a thing of beauty! The only thing that I was unhappy about was the single speaker so, as luck would have it, There was a Top hat 2/12 cab used in the same store that had just the right amount of dust on it as the kids made their way to the stacks, which I picked up for $250 and now I am happy ( until the next time, says my wife). They make a happy pair.... I played the Top Hat in the store thru a Vox and it was apparent that the quality was there. so I forked over my 250 and have no regrets.
It's a good lesson for America that some guy in his basement can make a better product that a large corporation and sell at a competitive price.

I've been playing for 30 yrs gigging for 10. I own a Colling a Taylor a Schecter Tele (anderson shop) and a Goodman archtop. If lost or stolen I'd replace it in a New York nanosecond.I recently a/b'd it with a Top Hat at sam ash. and found them similar in tone in the sense that they are both built by people who are GOOD at what they do and are passionate about quality. I refuse to by shit from big corps just for resale value and because they've brainwashed the population with advertising. If you want to follow the crowd stick with the big boys . If you want to blaze a new trail, take off the blinders and try Everything before you buy. You'll be surprised and, occasionally, delighted.

18 watts 1 x 12 combo. Bass, treble and Volume controls plus reverb. Reverb control has two modes (surf - longer tail, and sand - short tail.) Cabinet is made from pine. Pretty basic tone machine. Has two channels; High gain and low gain. I wish it had RoGain because I'm bald but that's another story. Cannot switch between the channels even with an A/B box. That does'nt really bother me as I usually run throuh either channel the whole night depending on the size of room and our required volume level.
I give it a ratin of 10 because these are exactly the features that I want in an amp.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a stock 64 strat, a California strat with Dimario virtual vintages, and a danelectro barritone.
As mentioned above the amp has two channels. The low gain channel sounds very Fenderish and stays clean with my single coils even turned all the way up. I have a pedal board with an MXR compressor, Ibanex tube screamer, Boss tremolo,Boss Delay, and a Budda Wah and all the effects sound great through this amp.
The high gain channel sounds really great turned up to about 3 O' Clock. I keep my guitar volume down for clean rhythm and turn it up for the most perfect overdriven sound you can imagine. It really responds to how hard you pick the string. Pick soft for clean, pick hard for a nice growl.
I'm getting ready to buy a 68 SG standard with humbuckers which I think will sound really good through this amp.

I'll let you know how sounds after a few gigs.

Have only had it for a couple of weeks. Seems very well made.

Haven't needed any. I did e-mail the company telling them how much I liked the amp and asked a few questions about it and they wrote back the same day. That's pretty good.

I've been playing for 38 years. I've mostly played Fender and Marshall amps with a few experiments along the way. I've always been open to new ideas like the Line 6 stuff and even have a POD and a FlexTone Plus but always go back to the tried and true tube stuff. I currently own a Marshall TSL 2x12, a Fender Blues Junior, the Flextone plus (currently for sale), and the Budda. I've got a couple of California strats, a 64 strat, a Danelectro Barritone, and a Danelectro U1. I've got Fender precision bass and a Takimine electric nylon string.
I really do like this amp and would probably get another if it were stolen.
This last super bowl weekend the guitar player, keyboard player, and sax player from Bruce Hornsby's band sat in with my band along with the drummer from Tina Turner's band and they all commented on the my tone. Bruce's guitar player Doug Derryberry was really impressed with how responsive the guitar through the amp was. I believed him even though he was quite drunk.
FYI I bought the amp at Atlanta Discount Music.
