Straight forward all tube head, 2 channels, bright and crunch switches for the clean channel shared EQ, non-master with presence, reverb, switch for 6l6/el34, hi and lo gain inputs, series fx loop and a footswitch that activates lead and clean channel, and on off for reverb and loop - surprisingly, some fail-safe devices (more on that later). I think that about sums it up.

I play in a cover band and also record my own material. My influences range from 80's hair metal to current metal, pink floyd, dream theater, and a little bit of U2, Hendrix...You get the idea. The amp has a really good tone to it and is pretty versatile, especially for $500. I would say the sound is more English/Marshall/EL34 but it's definately hot-rodded a-la Soldano. I'm not sure that it will stop my tone search but it does sound really good...So good, in fact, that I sold my Engl, Mesa and Marshall. This head has passive EQ knobs but they do quite a bit. The amp is voiced very much in the midrange but doesn't get harsh when really loud. One thing I hated about my Mesa and Engl was the high end hiss/hornet's nest noise that I got when loud. It was cool at times, but you can't tame that! This amp is pretty versatile; The clean channel breaks up a bit early but that's not why you get an amp such as this. The bright switch does a lot to make the clean channel nice and chimmey. The EQ in general is much more sensative than Marshall, but not as much in comparison to Mesa and Engl's active EQ. No matter, they work really well and overall, the channels are voiced so that you won't miss 2 sets of EQ. The presence knob works well and is nicely tapered but gets bitey around 7. I hate presence in general and normally run mine off - 1 on the dial. The lead channel on this amp is excellant. From AC/DC to all out black metal, if you need more gain than this amp has, you should probably go back and take more lessons and learn how your hands influence an amp and your tone. It gets very saturated but remainsin your face and has plenty of clarity to play funky "add 9's and 13" chords. I use the high gain input and only turn the gain to around 4-5 and that's more than enough for me. I rated this category a 9, read below to find out why it wasn't a bit lower, maybe a 7 stock? I'm REALLY picky though and my tastes change very quickly. I must say that I do really love the tone of the lead channel. This is the closest I've gotten to the tone in my head. If this amp is based on a 5150/6505 so be it, but I didn't buy those amps b/c this one sounds better. I'm running it through a Mesa 4/12 w/ Vintage 30's and a TC Electronic G-Major in the Loop. Seamless, clear and great sounding. I do use the G-Major's EQ to boost the bass a bit on all of my settings. Like I said, it's voiced very much in the mids...Also, I can nail David Gilmour's tone from Pulse...No BS! Just throw some chorus, reverb and delay in there, boost the bass and the mids a bit on the processor, and voila! The amp has a fair amount of noise to it, so you'll need a noise gate to tame it a bit. All my guitars have humbuckers (seymour JB and Jazz) so I can't comment on single coils. Works well and stays clean with down-tuned guitars and 7 strings.

I'm going middle ground here. I had read about these amps breaking down and sure enough, so did mine. I got it in May 2008 and at the time, Bugera was using these crappy little clips to connect the wires. People mentioned these fry out easily and that's what happened. Evidently, Bugera doesn't do this anymore and now they are soldering the leads to the board...Good thinking. Made in China, I guess you had to expect some kinda issue during the first couple of runs. So, here's where the story get interesting. This amp died on me after my 1st show with it in January 2009. Thankfully, it worked through the show. The next day, it powered up, the preamp worked but no sound...No power to the power tubes! D'oh! Long story short, I called Bugera and they set me up with a tech to get it fixed. This guy was awesome!!! I took the opportunity to have it rebiased and retubed w/ JJ's (sick) and had a new output transformer put in and a choke added. I went with Heyboer and Mercury Magnetics and I couldn't be happier. The amp was already loud, now it's ridiculously loud! Just tighter and punchier! The tech I met went through the amp w/ a fine tooth comb and said that all things considered, it was built well. He told me not to worry about the tube sockets being attached directly to the pcb board as heat rises (duh). I can see this being an issue in the combo version (the chasis is upside down), but not the head. Also, the board that the pots are anchored to is of higher quality than original runs. There is no movement/floppyness to them. Other than that, all clips have been removed, leads soldered, etc. The amp is also equipped with the proper circuitry to protect the transformers from power tube failure. While not fool-proof, they do help and could stop a catastrophy! All resistors, capacitors, etc. were of high quality - maybe not "boutique" quality, but certainly up to snuff with anything you would find from Mesa, Marshall, etc.

Long and short here is if you buy this amp, have a tech retube, bias and check out the connections for you. I also blew a 6l6 during my show in January. If you're interested, I had my amp worked on by Nick at Tonetronix. Look him up on the web. Bugera was severely backlogged for parts and it took 3 1/2 months to get my amp back, which sucked.

Since the work was done, I've had no issues. I have a killer sounding tube amp which will decimate most other high gain heads for $800. Even if I bought used, I could'nt sound this good for this price given the upgrades. I give this amp an 8 for reliability after the work (I hope to have it for a long time) and a 1 based on it's "stock" quality. So far, countless rehearsals and 6 very loud shows since the end of May without a problem.

Bugera was very good and quick with getting me a tech within driving distance. The tech that did the work does a lot of vintage stuff too (he was working on Neil Young's amps and also has done work for every rock/metal player under the sun!). For that reason alone, they rank high. Maybe they compensated b/c they knew the initial quality problems of these amps? The customer service reps were very good and so was the tech team. They called back and were very aggressive getting my amp into the shop...Not bad

Overall, I would buy this amp again but only after playing a Splawn. I've played this amp right next to my neighbors Soldano SLO 100 and I must say that the Bugera has much of the same qualities and sounds really good. Has that sweet, singing quality, can easily do the bRoOtZ and in general, has a really pleasing tone with nice harmonics. I liked it better than my other amps so I made room for whatever the next purchase will be. Just make sure that you have a tech look at it, bias and retube it (Bugera's tubes suck for anything more than backups for a gig). It's well worth the $$$ to do this. Technically, you should do this for ANY tube amp, even new ones. I do...Again, I would get it again and so far, no other high gain amp has proven itself to be so much better that it's worth the price. My neighbors SLO was better, but also 6 times the price!

The best thing about the amp is the distortion. The crunch channel is fantastic. The only problem is you can't use the footpedal to go from clean to crunch. It only goes clean to lead, or crunch to lead. This doesn' affect my live sound, but I would've liked to be able to go from clean to crunch for bedroom use. Don't use the lead channel much, the crunch has more than enough gain for everything. Very deep sounding reverb. Also has the ability to switch between 6L6 and EL34, which could prove to be very useful.

Sound Quality : 10
I primarily use a Gibson SG special to play punk/melodic hardcore and this amp is everything I need. Warm, overdriven and tons of bottom end. I tried playing my Telecaster through it and the distortion was a bit crap... the Bugera 6260 is definately a humbucker amp. Loud aswell.

Reliability : 5
Had this amp a few months and have gigged and recorded with it. Time will tell I suppose, but it's showing no signs of letting up.

Customer Support : 7
My biggest problem with buying this amp was that it arrived at my house without the footpedal, which was supposed to have been included. I phoned the dealers (the Irish sea seperates us) and they were about as helpful as a kick in the balls. However, one relatively quick e mail exchange with Behringer later and the pedal was on my doorstep within days. Very helpful... don't believe the Behringer/Bugera horror stories you might hear from the gear snobs. Comes with your standard year long warranty.

Overall Rating : 9
If this amp was stolen, I would buy another one. Finally found my sound with this amp. Maybe not as great as the Peavey 6505 or Mesas, but for the money these amps are spot on.

As versatile as a an amp that I would get with could be.

Sound Quality : 10
It sounds fantastic, I use the clean channel a lot with the gain about halfway and a boss cs-3 as a boost pedal for it, this gives a very bluesy sound (especially when using my strat), very reminiscant of a Fender tweed amp. I play through a Bugera 4x12 cab at home and 2 4x12s live. I am thinking about getting some Orange or Marshall cabs as well and possibly running 4 cabs live.
I sometimes switch to the lead channel on about a quarter gain and high volume if I feel like getting an absolutely cranked 6l6 sound. I use this sometimes for that more trebly Buddy Guy sound.

A lot of blokes will buy this to use for metal, but it is versatile and can be used for blues, soul, R&B, funk and classic rock as well as anything if that's what you want it to do.

Don't get me wrong, it does metal, with a very brutal distortion, however I don't do metal. I hate that ***** tbh. To each his own.

Reliability : 9
The first one I got broke, however, the second one, no problems whatsoever. I think I jsut got a dud the first time round.

Customer Support : 9
Customer support is amazing, when the first one broke, it only took about 2 weeks for a new one to arrive, fantastic considering that this happened around christmas time.

Overall Rating : 9
Awesome.
I am going to get another of these, and switch out the power tubes for EL34s, stick a boost pedal in front of it and have them both on a stereo pedal, so I can choose between a Britsh blues and American blues sound at will, or possibly mix the two sounds. Both running through two/four 4x12 cabs each. They are great for somebody who likes experimenting and likes to make an investment on a cheapish product that sounds as good as something 3 times the price.

Ok ive never made a review on here before , but i need to inform you of my bugera 6260. Ok the massive problem is the footswitch, if you are going to be a bedroom player then your safe, if you are taking it to gigs / practice then your going have problems. The connector for the footswitch is a crap mouse connector, like mouse to computer, with **** pins, what are bugera thinking of, its a good solid amp and great tone, the crunch channel cranked is really good, but if you dont have a footswitch that works you cannot change channels or the effect loop. the pins snapped on mine within one week connecting it 4 times overall. A Huge mistake by bugera/behringer . i seriously think they should do a mark 2 of the model with a different design. or a recall but that wont happen.

GREAT OVERDRIVE, AWESOME CRUNCH CHANNEL, GOOD LEADS.

BAD FOOTSWITCH OLD STYLE MOUSE TO P.C CONECTOR, A JOKE, HAVE THEY EVER PLAYED GUITAR OR TOOK AN AMP TO A GIG. PINS TO CONNECT WHICH BROKE ON THE FORTH TIME OF CONNECTING, AND I WAS NOT ROUGH WITH IT.

Using an Epiphone Elite Les Paul Custom (but that's another story) with stock pickups. Absolutely amazing sound- incredible sustain, sweet range, nice and bold.

Unknown. I've heard lots of horror stories about Behringer products. Hope this rises above those old standards.
So far, absolutely stable!

Unknown- as beforee, have heard badness about the Behringer products. As I understand, though, the support is suppossed to be stellar.

OK, here goes.
I picked up the 6260 head to replace my old Marshall (Mk2 Master Volume Lead series 100 watt) that was made in 1979. Lately it's been eating tubes. Still have the JMP (I think its a 2204? or is that the 50 watt) and will repair/rebuild when I have the time. Anyhoo, at rehearsal on New years eve, me Marshall did it again. HT fuse blown due to a tube shorting. Was gonna get new tubes at the music store (Back Porch Music, GJ Colorado)- which is 110 miles away. Called Dwight (owner) on New Years day- told me he'd stay open while My wife and I drove over (had a gig on the coming saturday). Got there, and tried the 6260 (had been eying it on previous visits). Put the tubes back, bought the Bugera. My Bass player (whose opinion I Highly respect) noted the amazing quality and improvement in my rigs overall sound. I ABSOLUTELY Love this head. My marshall Mk2, aka the '1 trick pony' (does 1 thing, but does it VERY well) will eventually get repaired, but when it does, I'm afraid it's gonna be the new 'backup' to my Bugera.

It's a basic two channel 120 watt high gain amp. It has an effects loop. Being able to use the reverb independently on either channel via footswitch is definitely a useful feature. VERY loud. Runs on 4 6L6GC's.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a 81 Gibson Les Paul Custom with stock active EMG's, it suits this amp very well. I run it through a 77 Orange 4x12 cab loaded with Celestion GH30's (killer low end response). I play Doom and old school metal. This amp is definitely quiet, no hiss even at high volumes. I don't use the clean much.... But this amp's distortion kick ass. It isn't fuzzy sounding at all. But is very richly textured, thick sounding crunch. It has incredibly tight low end for huge sounding palm muted chugging. It reminds me of something between a Mesa 50 Caliber plus, a 5150 and my old Engl Thunder 50. Very open and complex sounding.
I very rarely 10's, but IMHO, for any metal or heavier style of music, this amp is by far the best value on the tube amp market today.

Haven't had it long enough to say... It seems solid and well built, but only time will tell.

I really like this amp. As good as it sounds, I can't believe they can sell these for so cheap..... Hmmmm..... Cheap Chinese labor. I'm a dealer, so I have owned over 200 tube amps of ALL makes & models. Including all eras of the following: Orange, Matamp, Sunn, Mesa, Marshall, Splawn, Ampeg, Soldano, etc..... and many, many more. Sonically the 6260 hangs with most of the higher gain amps I've owned. Overall this amp is AN AMAZING VALUE.

Just got this amp. It has two channels 1 clean 1 lead which is all i need. The 6260 comes with a footswitch with clean, lead, reverb and eff. loop. It lives up to my motto les is more.

I have read alot of reviews of this amp and i am not a very big fan af behringer products. I found this amp in my local music store and tried it out. I really liked its sound and simplisity so i bought it right away. It was a bit noisy but fixed it with a noise gate. I mainly play hard rock and heavy and this amp does the job. I allready own a rack set up which sound perfect but im a bit tired of midi setups. It really sounds best with the volume nub over 3(But who play at lower setting). the clean channel sounds ok too
This amp is really a good bargin cheap and desent sounding.

I have been playing for 20 years and owned alot of different amps, this one reminds me of my old 5150 (Wonder Why). As said do i have a rack setup i have been using for the last 6 years and was looking for a replacement and i i think that this amp does it. It is not a Mesa but it is worth trying out.

Same as everyone else has said before me.

I use this amp with my Charvel model 5 fx "an extremely rare guitar by the way", an EMG loaded Zack Wylde Les Paul and a Fender TC 90. **** I think this amp can cover everything from crystal clean to Avenged Seven fold. The amp is not at all noisy and can get an extremely brutal distortion. I would however recommend a MXR 10 band eq in front of it for maximum flexibility. I must add that this amp can nail the **** out of SRV`s sound if you are running a good single coil pickup as well.

Can`t comment on this , I just wish the warranty were longer and the tubes were not cheap *** Bugera`s , but no problems so far.

Again I digress, one year warranty...90 days on the tubes.

I have been playing for over 25 years and I have owned the Holy Grail of all of the Marshall amps. I have to say that for the cost of this amp you have to get it if you truly love pure tube amp tone, and are sick to death of the digital ******** that is out there "Spider 3 line 6 to name a few". This is a true tube amp and should gain much respect as the name and reputation begin to spread. Do your self a favor and don`t be a ***** get the Bugera and soon while they are still so reasonably priced. Once they get established I can guarantee the price will only go up. Get up off your *** and go find one...NOW!!!!

I got this amp new this year, so I'm assuming it was either made in '08 or late '07. It's a two (almost 3 channel) amp with a clean channel (with switchable "crunch" mode) and a lead channel. I'm using it with the stock tubes (6L6's for power) and it has an fx loop, which I'm not currently using, and a fairly nice reverb. I was a little worried that the clean and crunch modes share the eq with the lead channel, but it hasn't been an issue at all because all of the channels are voiced to sound good when the eq knobs are close to straight up.

Sound Quality : 9
I play country music with a rock edge so I was a little hesitant to pick up a "metal" amp, but I did want an amp that had nice tube distortion and more gain than my metal front marshall jmp. This fits the bill for me. It does sound reminiscent of the 5150, but I think it's more "open" sounding and has some nice harmonic content, which I typically find lacking in most high-gain amps. The lead channel is too distorted for me to use much in a show, but it's a fun, guilty pleasure when it comes to crankin' out 80's rock stuff. I typically use the clean channel for a couple of songs and use the crunch channel for the rock material in our set. I incorporate it as part of a multi-head switcher along with a Matchless, Marshall and Divided By 13 and so far, I've been quite impressed that it holds its own alongside my much more expensive and sought-after amps. The clean channel sounds fat and full and with the bright switch on, has some nice single-coil clarity without being too sterile as many multi-channel amps' clean channels get. The crunch mode is great with my PRS 245 humbuckers and cops a great VH sound. Overall, for a relatively inexpensive amp, it sounds great and is versatile enough to use on a gig by itself, without a monster pedalboard.

Reliability : No Opinion
Mine is still fairly new and only have a couple of weeks worth of shows on it, so I can't speak for its reliability yet.

Over the years, I've owned Marshall (TSL, JCM800, JMP), Bogner (Shiva, Metropolis), Mesa (Single Rec), and TopHat (Emplexador) amps for high gain applications and I have sold most off for one reason or another. I half expected to be underwhelmed by the Bugera, but in the short time I've had it, I spend less time tweaking knobs and more time playing on it, which to me is a sign of a good amp. If I have to spend too much time looking for a good sound, I tend to get rid of the amp. With the 6260, I don't think I've touched the knobs twice after I set it the first day. It's got great, in-your-face gain, but isn't buzzy or harsh and has a nice thick midrange ala Marshall, which I love. The sustain is nice and develops nice harmonics as it sustains. It's what you want an amp to sound like. The master volume is useful for basement playing at night and it gets loud if you need it to as well. I'm pleasantly surprised and think that this amp is a bargain in today's market. Two thumbs up!

The amp was made 2008, it's new XD
I bought the amp for one thing and that was it's dirty channel. The cleans are ok but that's not the selling point for this amp
2 channels with shared EQ
Also has a reverb, nice addition as it is foot switchable
All tube XD

Sound Quality : 8
I've used it with as many guitars I can think of, it really does shine with EMG based guitars, but I enjoy the sound most with Seymour Duncans and my Jackson KV3
This amp would be made predominantly for metal and hard rock, that's what it was built for and that's what it does
Even with the gain up to 5 or so with the High Input it's still relatively quiet, there's some obvious pre-amp hiss but that's it
The clean channel breaks up early but not so much if your in the Low input, it has a bright switch which I usually keep engaged to counter the lack of high end in my dirty tone.
The crunch channel is an extension of the clean channel basically

The distortion is where it gets the marks though, reminiscent of the Peavey 5150 but with its own character too. It does most types of metal but excels at Metalcore and Melodic Death Metal

As of recent I endorse Bugera and there has been a LOT of communication between us, I've been only ever satisfied with their replies so far so good job on their behalf!

I've been playing for 4 years and own a heap of gear, from Mesa to Engl and for such a cheap price this amp sure does a good job of competing.
I love it most for just a brutal crushing distortion channel, it's the kind of rhythm tone I've been searching for for a very long time :)
I personally run a Tube screamer in the front to accentuate the mids and tighten it up a little, but even on its own it sounds great XD
