the bugera 6262 head is quite obviously styled after the peavey 6505+ and that's the kinda tonal area it hits perfectly. i'm not saying it's exactly the same, but if you want gain without losing any definition, this is a nice amp. it has 2 channels, clean (with non-footswitchable crunch switch) for your clean/crunch settings, and a Lead channel, which has enough gain to make a small child cry! there's also a footswitchable reverb and a footswitchable FX loop. 120watts which is more than enough for any gig or rehearsal and it has a nice switch on the back so you can set the ohm rating to match whatever cab you've got... 4ohm - 8ohm - 16ohm settings. its all tube... 6 preamp tubes and 4 power amp tubes... you can even swap the power amp tubes for 6l6's or el34's depending on what tone you want, i've just left the stock 6l6's in cause i quite like the american style tight distortion.

Sound Quality : 10
i use it with a selection of different guitars with active and passive pickups and i think it sounds best with passive pickups for the distortion and active for the clean/crunch settings, but that might just be me. i'm in a death metal band and it's perfect for that but i also like some bluesy stuff and when my band are elsewhere i often just jam out some blues on it and it really suits it, with the volume on the guitar just rolled back a bit on the crunch channel with the gain on about 5.

on the lead channel, with the gain at anywhere above 3 the amp does make quite alot of hissy noise and feedback can be an issue but the hiss goes away as soon as you play. the hiss is quite alot quieter than the actual distorted sound so it's not really an issue. the clean channel can distort at alot of settings, its more of a crunch channel than a VERY clean, but if you roll the volume on the guitar down and set the gain to 1 it is quite clean.

now lets face it, if you're buying a tube amp with 6 preamp tubes the distortion is gonna be brutal, and the 6262 doesn't disappoint. its heavy as an elephant carrying a lead statue on the surface of a white dwarf star! just remember not to put the gain on 10, cause too much gain will make your sound actually lose POWER.

Reliability : 9
my band and i have been gigging hard recently, and i'm talking at least 2 or 3 gigs a week... and in the 6 months i've owned this amp, it's not once let me down. i always take my solid state crate power block and my boss gt-8 to gigs as a backup just in case i blow a tube or something but its been fine so far.

off to gig again tomorrow!

Customer Support : 5
before owning this 6262 head i had a bugera 333xl head and after 2 months it crackled and died... power amp tube went microphonic and i mentioned this to the shop i bought it from and they basically said 2 months isn't good, should have lasted longer, we can replace the tubes or you can pick something else if you want, so i decided to go for the 6262 and I'm glad i did, the distortion is much better suited for my heavier tendencies but as for bugera themselves i cant say i've had to deal with them direct.

standard 1 year warranty on manufacturing faults (excluding tubes).

Overall Rating : 9
i've been playing now for 13 years and i've played through my fair share of equipment, gibson les pauls, strats, jackson RR1, esp eclipse's, marshall jcm800's + 900's, mesa's, randall's, peavey's. and i'm glad to say, for under ??500 you cant get a better new tube amp for metal. if it was stolen or lost i wouldn't hesitate in buying another.

the only thing i wish i could lose is the feedback but with this much gain, that's not gonna happen without a better noise gate pedal.

120 Watt all Tube high gain amplifier.
Classic two channel preamp design.
Runs on 6 12AX7 and 4 6L6 (easily convertible to EL34)
The clean channel has a crunch mode, wich is not footswitchable, and a bright mode also, wich is assignable to the clean mode only.
Lead channel is your full on metal tones.
Features Separate EQ section for each channel, and a master reverb (footswitchable) and presence for each channel.
Last but not least, there's also a footswitchable series effects loop for your external effects units.
A noise gate is not really needed, although it is a high gain amp, there's not really that much noise at reasonable volumes.

I'm giving it a 9 because the crunch mode could be footswitchable, although it is a MODE and not a CHANNEL.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a BC Rich Kerry King signature V (not really for the signature, more because of the Kahler and the graphics lol) with two active EMG and this amp just shines in every way soundwise. Although I play mostly Metal, I also play a lot of Jazz and Funk as well as Blues, and I've got to say that, to me, the most impressive feature of this amp is the clean channel. It's just brilliant. It is a high gain amp, yes, but the clean channel is just awesome. Lots of sensitivity and dynamics, as well as it sounds really warm and fat with the right EQ. With the bright switch on it almoust seems like i'm playing through a Strat: really bity tones. When we engage the crunch mode, the beast starts to show up. Although I use it as a light breakup mode for my bluesy tunes, when you push the gain to the top, it can get really heavy. It's your perfect classic rock tone.
Now for the LEAD CHANNEL, there's only one word: BRUTAL. There's lots of Overdrive. If you like the sound of Lamb of God's "As the palaces burn" album, this is the amp to get. Although it IS Brutal it's also quiet and very articulate sounding, as there is only as much gain as needed and usable. You wont get a sound so dirty that makes your awesome guitar sound like a poor man's chainsaw. It's just "on spot" Tones. You can really hear all the notes you play, so there's little room for mistakes wich is obviously good...
So this is a solid nine, as I don't what a 10 would be....

Reliability : 9
I've owned it for like about 14 months, and I've never had a single problem and I play almoust daily shows, sometimes in BIG venues so.....volume about 5-6....all across the country (Portugal (Europe)).
The foostswitch is REALLY heavy and durable (and under the footswitch there's this kind of velvet so if you're playing in your bedroom it won't ruin your floor(nice touch!!!))
I've changed Tubes recently, and put in some EH tubes and honestly I prefer the original Chinese Bugeras, musch warmer and thicker sounding.
If it is your first Tube amp, then there's some things you'll find out are needed to maintain a tube amp working properly. I leave mine about 15 minutes in stand by before and after playing. I always keep it clean and in a place that's not too hot nor too cold. Always detach your power cable when not playing for a while, et??

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, but they'll replace your broken amp in two days here in Europe. Always take a backup, anyway

Overall Rating : 10
Hands Down, best bang for the buck. period.

Of course you won't compare a 550 Euros amp to a 5000 one, although I also own a Triple Recto and now that I have the Bugera, I'm considering selling it, and buy another Bugera, exactly the same.

Very versatile amplifier, durable and just one of the best sounding amplifiers I have ever heard.

Bugera has obviously invested their time in this line.

Features : 9
The sound versatility of this amp is tremendous. I can pretty much dial in any rock/blues/metal/clean tone that I want without using any external effects or EQ.

The only reason that I have reduced the score to 9, is that I do wish it had the ability to switch the crunch channel on via the footswitch, boost volume through the pedal on the one channel and other features like a noise gate, effect send and return volume control and low gain input of the 333xl.

Sound Quality : 10
It is this that swayed me away from the 333xl which I was all set to purchase until I compared them both together in a music store through a Bugera 4x12 cabinet.

The clean channel on the 6262 had such a warmth and soul to it with just a hint of dirt. Even the salesman was surprised at the tonal change out of the same guitar and cabinet. Not that the 333xl sounded bad, it just felt more sterile and sounded closer to previous solid state amps I had owned.

I use a Jem 77fp with Dimarzio PAF PROs. As others have said if you have a fairly low action with high output pups you cannot get a truly clean sound without adjusting guitar volume or using a single coil combination. But when it is clean it stays clean to as far as I have been willing to push it volume wise and the tone is amazing.

The crunch channel is very good for classic rock and low to medium gain arrangements, but the lead channel is where the brutality happens! The chug I get with standard tuning is just pure wickedness.

The lead tone is lush, creamy and exactly what I have been missing with modelling software and solid state amps in the past.

Reliability : 10
I have had absolutely no issues so far and it looks and feels very solid. I have heard that newer modles have had their issues resolved.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for 28 years as a hobby and have owned combo solid state and tube amps in the past and a Vadis full tube amp with Fender Bassman cabinet. I have mainly used amp modelling software more recently.

This amp is by far the best sounding that I have heard for the variety of styles that I enjoy and beyond, such as blues, vintage rock and metal.

I compared this extensively to the 333XL both online and in the music store. While the 333XL had more features and the ability to produce a wider variety of tones, it lacked some fundamental tonal characteristic that I was seeking from a full tube amp.

If you are in the market for a new amp, do yourself a favour and get out there and compare these Bugeras, I am still completely gobsmacked that such a sound can be had for so little!

This amp like the 5150 is pretty basic in features, has clean, crunch, reverb and a fx loop. Nice to see a useful foot switch inc in the package, very nice. Like ive mentioned, pretty basic stuff but: if you buy an amp like this, valves and all, do you really want loads of digital fx's and such spoiling the simplicity of the style?

Sound Quality : 9
My style is death metal, fast, slow and a lot of heavy chugging, As a direct compare to the 5150, it has a little more fizz, a bit less bottom end, in fact you might find this a little ???middy??? BUT!! And this is a BIG but, there is a way to get total control and tweak the sound you need. My friends it is called the EQ effects peddle. It has very much changed the amp to suit my needs, I only spent about ??30 on a beheringer box and boy was I impressed. With the inclusion of the said eq peddle you get your bottom back, midd???s reduced leaving a nice rich dark sound but one perk over the 5150 with the EQ inclusion is a fantastic heavy chug that is very very appealing.
Right now im using a fender strat with Seymour Duncan hot rails & a Jackson dinky with Jackson???s stock humbucker ???rails???, the EQ box and noise gate.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems yet

Customer Support : No Opinion
no reason to use

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Bought for a band to play along side the 5150 and now it does just that. I have to say seems a little erm??? fizzy and light by its self but by no means quiet, I dare say if you play heavy rock, blues or anything in-between it will suit without need for FXs, however with the aid of a EQ peddle it makes a worthy companion to the real deal (5150) when playing the dropped tuned heavy stuff. Sporting a glorious 120w power out, and a fantastic price I would buy again.

This amp has all the features you could hope for on a tube head. The best feature would be the pedal which switches channels(unfortunately not between clean and crunch), reverb and effects loop.

Sound Quality : 8
I have used quite a few different guitars with this amp. All sounded good in the bedroom but tend to get buried in the mix when playing with a band. I would say this amp sounds very good if you are looking for a scooped high gain sound, just don't expect to cut through the mix if your other guitarist is playing a good Marshall.

Reliability : 2
Let me start of by saying here that I am not a Bugera basher(at least I wasn't when I bought my first one). I had this amp for 6 months when I hooked up at a show and hit the power switch... nothing happened. The power light came on but no sound. I borrowed an amp from the headlining band(amid looks of "I told you so" from all the other musicians in the room). I contacted Bugera the next day and was given courteous instructions on how to return my amp for repair. A month or so later, I received my amp in great working order. I really liked the amp's sound but I was a little afraid of it, so I sold it. I was in a local music store a couple months later and saw a 6260 combo for cheap. Although I should have known better, I sorta missed the sound of my 6262... so I bought it. Well, another couple months passed and low and behold... Same thing happened to the 6260 that happened to the 6262. I know Bugera supporters are gonna chalk this up as another noob not knowing how to properly use a tube amp. I am 40 yrs old and have owned various tube amps including Peavey, Marshall, Carvin, Laney and Fender. I have never had a single problem with any other tube amp. If you own a Bugera, it is not a matter of if it will quit working, it is a matter of when.

Customer Support : 9
Customer support was very friendly and helpful.

Overall Rating : 1
My final score is based on the fact that in spite of the great features and good sound, these amps are completely unreliable. I would not ever buy another Bugera because the first time was their fault, the second time was my fault for not knowing better. For the price of a new Bugera, you can buy a used Peavey ultra or VTM, you can buy a used Laney AOR, or for a couple hundred more, you can possibly even find a decent Marshall JCM. Do not waste your money on a Bugera.

I play metal in the style of Chimaira, Lamb of God, Machine Head, etc. This amp is perfect for the style of music I play. It has all the basic things that a head should have (effects loop, footswitch, ...). The thing I like about this amp is that it even sounds great at low volume. Most tube heads have a lack of gain at low volume but with this one you can get a good metal sound at low volume. The build quality is not the quality you get from the more expensive amps. The previous head I owned was a Valveking and although it is also manufactured in China, the valveking has a much higher building quality. This head is not made for a lot of touring because it will break down.

Sound Quality : 9
I love the sound of this amp. It goes from a warm clean sound, over some crunchy and bluesy sounds to a straight high gain metal sound. Great for shredding and heavy riffs. For solos you can use some Reverb (footswitch) and it sounds really good. I play in a metal band but I could easilly use this in a rock or even blues band.

Reliability : 5
This is the reason I'm writing this review. Before I bought the amp, I had a lot of doubts about the reliability. I bought the amp in my local shop. First I've tried it at home, no problem. But when I used it to play with my band it produced a cracking sound. Even when the guitar was not plugged in. I changed all my wires and checked everything but it came from the amp. I brought it back to the shop and after a week they gave me another one. I have no problems with this one so far. I just wanted you to know that you should be aware that these kinds of problems may happen. I have a back-up head so for me it's not a problem but I can imagine that it can be a huge problem when you have to do a show with your band.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven' dealt with the customer support of Bugera because I brought the amp back to my local shop.

I love the amp and for that price its' a huge bargain.

'07 model. Picked this up in a gear trade, a Les Paul, a Marshall SLP Super Lead 100 RI and if I threw another two bills in I could take the Bugera 6262 combo, which my friend affectionately called the "Bug". I said what the hell, it's 120 watts and if it craps he'd make it right on something else. So here's the rundown; Bugera is out of Canada, distributed by Behringer, with the amps constructed in China. It's all valve PCB construction, six 12AX7s, four 6L6 power valves, swappable to EL34s with a flick of a switch and a quick bias. 120 watts, two channel, kind of like three if you count the crunch mode on the clean channel, 2x12 custom Bugera loudspeakers and enough knobs to keep you in tweaker's heaven. I've been putting this thing through the mill for a month now, and I mean hard, and so far all I can say is maybe the Chinese got it right. Bugera takes the time to match the power valves, which you don't often see in a budget amp, albeit they are Chinese valves. The clean channel ain't Fender clean, but it ain't a Fender. It'll break up pretty quick with humbuckers, a little more headroom with single coils. There is a crunch mode on the clean channel, nice for power rhythm work. the Lead channel is just that, for powerful lead work. This thing will get some insane gain, but it will feedback on you in a hurry, so watch that gain level or employ a good noise gate. As with most cascaded preamp gain designs, they can be noisy, and this amp is no exception, getting a fair amount of hiss on the lead side. This amp actually employs five of the valves for preamp, one for phase splitter, and using digital reverb, not wasting any of the valves for a spring reverb tank. Novel. It could use better speakers, so I put good ol' Vintage 30s in. Much better. Sounds even better plugged into one of my 1960 4x12 cabs. Now the bad; plastic pots, not secured to chassis, one good knock on a knob could shut you down. Plastic input jack. Mine broke, so put in high quality Switchcraft jack. Valves are good, could be better, but since they are performing ok, I'll leave them be. It's heavy, damn heavy. Put some casters on it, or get a road case if you're gonna gig it, otherwise it'll put your shoulder out. It has enough power for most venues. I'm taking it out to gig next week. I'll update.

Sound Quality : 8
Good rock/hard rock/heavy rock amp. Probably not for the drop tuning crowd or nu metal folks. It's got fairly good tone, and it's freakin' loud as hell. The Lead channel will get you some cookin' distortion without getting fizzy. I've heard some say almost akin to a 5150 or 6505

Reliability : 7
Had to replace input jack, but she hasn't shut down, blown a fuse or a valve or overheated. No discernible rattles from the cab. We'll see.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to use them. but i hear they will replace a problematic amp under warranty.

Overall Rating : 7
Since I got it in a trade with some extra cash thrown in, I'm not gonna lose sleep if it dies. Probably wouldn't get another. I'll just play it, if it ain't expensive to repair, I'll repair it.

I have 2 guitars that I use. A Fender Powerhouse Strat. It has a 12Db midrange active boost built-in. When I want to use the boost, which is most always because it gives the guitar a great sound, it easily overdrives the clean channel. I do 70's classic rock, Eagles, Clapton etc....and I like to have a very clear clean channel....like a twin reverb on 3. When I use the Strat, it overdrives the channel. Maybe they should install two inputs...one full gain and one that is padded.
I also have an Epiphone 335 copy with the humbucker type pickups. I get a bigger sound from that guitar and much more low and mid tones.
I may try a pad in the input section to see what that does.

Reliability : 5
What the one person said about a power supply for tube protection is absolutely correct! The first one of these amps I had went up in smoke because of bad electricity. Fire under one of the tubes etc.
They exchanged it for me...(whew!)
It is cold here now, and I haven't used it much because I don't have a case for it.

Customer Support : 10
Only had to deal with the store where I bought it. They replaced it no problems!

Overall Rating : 9
I have played for a long time. My first gig was Moses' 5th birthday party! I would love to have a 4 x 12 box with 4 JBL's in it just to see how loud and clean this guy would go. I LOVE CLEAN!
I don't care much for amps that boast of high power but then break up very early in the setup.
I wish it had 2 inputs....one padded and one not.

It is a fairly new product, so no one that I have seen is making a cheap hard roadcase for it. I will most likely have a custom built once it warms up in Ohio and I go back to gigging with this amp. The cold weather and no case, i just dont want to take the chance!

Features everything a guitarist would want in an amp....

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality is actually amazing both clean and distorted and everything between.....A noteworthy aspect of this amp over great amps of the past such as marshall 2205, ampeg lee jackson VL series is they didn't waste a preamp tube for the reverb, they used digital reverb for that which sounds BETTER and allows the tubes to be used for GAIN.....Best sound for the money and MORE......

Reliability : 10
As with all TUBE amps you will have to deal with fagile tubes but that isn't a problem for the working man, who treat his stuff well...

Customer Support : 10
They replaced all 4 tubes when only 1 actually went bad.....Many thanks.......

I have been playing for 35 years......I have owned almost all the great stuff 1958 fretless wonder, plexi, lee jackson, mesa, 5150, Voodoo amps, PTP, handwired and much more.....This amp doesn't get as DEEP as some but it's very forgiving and for that is't a 10 all the way..............

This amp was made in 2008. I am in a progressive/hardcore/death/metal/melodic/jazz/rock/blues... all over the place kind of band, and it works pretty well in all those styles, especially in the genres that require a good amount of gain. Containing 6, count em 6, 12ax7 Bugera preamp tubes as well as 4 6L6 Bugera tubes which can be converted to accept EL34s with a flick of a switch located next to the tubes inside the body. I was a little concerned about Bugera tubes, being that how many people are currently scrambling for those coveted Bugera tubes. But, they sound good. So egg on my face. Speaking of eggs, it also has chicken head knobs which I love, and very responsive pots. The clean channel is not exactly to my liking but more on that later. The amp has two channels, Clean and Lead each with is own presence and reverb control. The clean channel has a few nice options like crunch, and a bright switch. The lead channel is just that, large amounts of distortion. The footswich allows you to turn on and off the reverb for each channel AND turn on and of the FX loop, which is pretty niffty. The 6262 is a straight forward high gain amp and is a very affordable one at that. The only thing that I would want that Bugera offers on other amps is a built in noise gate. But I have one, so no worries. I use this amp for live shows, practice, but not recording. At least yet. This amp is loud!

Sound Quality : 7
I use Ibanez guitars, humbucker and single coils of a few different brands, various body styles, woods, and tunings. Each guitar brings its own flavor and sound out of this amp. But you as a guitar player should already know this. The variety of styles this amp can access is very broad. Mind you it may not tread into each realm very efficiently. The clean channel, try as you might, is never really clean, it always has a little bite in it. Which is not a bad thing, kinda, but you should know its there before buying. The clean channel also has a very nice compression on it, giving it a real tight sound. The low-end on this amp is crushing and even more so on the lead channel, which is great by my standards. But much like the slight bite that is ever present on the clean channel, it's hard to make disappear... but then again I don't want it to. The bright switch for the clean channel does just that, makes everything a little brighter. And the crunch option, which sadly is only availible by walking over to the amp and pushing the crunch switch on/off, adds a decent amount of gain to the clean channel giving a nice rock tone. The nice thing though is when switching between the clean and lead channel it will stay with you choice of crunch on or off. The lead channel is great for heavier music inclined guitarists. The distortion on this channel can go further than you probably want it to. At 3-4 is a decent rock sound, 5-6 is good for some metal, hardcore, and some death even, 7-8 is directly in the middle of very saturated land, and 9-10 is just buzzsaw. But a great sounding buzzsaw. The lows like I said before are great if you like a very heavy sound, mids are very responsive leading to a great punch with every riff or rhythm, and the highs are very impressive making everything scream. For each channel there is separate reverb. Going from a very mild airy quality to an enormous cavern like sound on each respective channel. There is also an independent presence control for each channel, which works just fine by my standards. I don't tend to use much though.

Reliability : 8
I depend on it. As much as you can depend on a $600 tube amp from a relatively new company. I, as anyone that has been playing for a while, am a little frightened that something will go wrong with the Bugera 6262. That being said, nothing has so far. Besides being impressed with what I am hearing from the amp, I also heard a lot of "wows" and "I can't believe that this is only this much." Go try one out, you may not find the amp of your dreams, but this fella will surely impress you. It's getting an 8 because of my inability to trust this amp completely yet, but each day thus far I am proven wrong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience with customer support. SO ITS GREAT, or horrible! I don't know.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for roughly 10+ years. I've owned a lot of gear and parted with a lot of gear. If this was stolen or suffered a horrible fate of some sort, I would be very upset. I may not buy one again, for the only reason I am always looking for the bigger better greater sound. But I wouldn't rule it out. This amp is inexpensive, and as for sound at this price... can't really beat it. I checked it out against is brother from a different mother the 6505+ and they were hard to tell apart. The Bugera was actually amazingly easier to dial in good tones right off the bat.
If you are looking for a inexpensive, high high high gain amp. The Bugera 6262 is probably for you. Go try one out!!!
