The clean sounds "spanky" but not "sparkly", while the dirty sounds "crunchy" but not "insane". It sounds kinda "Plexi" like in a way. Reverb is not "surfy" but rather "digital." A lot of variety in the "tone." It is quiet.

Me likes this amp a lot, but I didn't buy it. I went back to get it and it was gone. I have been playing 4o years and have owned every model of every make amp ever produced anywhere at any time. This is a good amp, and looks stunning. I would probably change the speakers and tubes to a Vintage speaker, and put some beefier power tubes in it. You can't beat this price with a friggin stick.

First off let me say that this amp gets bashed cause of its association with Behringer, but let me assure you that this amp is the truth inside and out!
With 2 channels Clean/Gain 3 Band Eq w/ mid boost Presence and Reverb. Also has an external speaker out and a selectable 4, 8, or 16 omhs switch. Also has a Triode/Pentode switch which is very nice. Normal and bright inputs and an FX Loop round this amp out.

Let me just say I own both a Mesa Boogie LoneStar and a Marshall JVM 410C. I also own and operate my own production facility for the last 8 years and have invested well over $650K so I know what a good amp sounds like and what CRAP sounds like.
This Bugera sounds just as good as my Lonestar! The gain channel doesn't touch the Marshall, but its a vintage amp, its not meant to! This amp is at least 80% as good as any $2500 amp out there. So is it worth it to spend $2100 for the remaining 20%?
I leave that question to you...
I do plan to make 2 upgrades, these being the speaker and the tubes.
The speaker breaks up on the clean channel when the master is up over 7. I would like it to stay clean all the way open. The Gain channel gets muddy past 12 O'clock, this lack of focus is due to cheap tubes. I'm sure once I replace the tubes and speaker to something of higher quality I will get this baby up to 100% for under $600! And it will then sound like a $2500 amp...

Overall this amp is a steal and has the makings of a great amp. Just everyone remember, don't let these "Tone Snobs" talk you into spending $4500 on a Matchless or some handmade amp because it's pure tube class A and all that other BS!
A tube amp is supposed to have Character and balls. CLean bell like tone and beautiful harmonic distortion. This amp delivers and if you need a little more, investing in some moderate upgrades will have you smiling both at the gig and when you look at your bank statements............

First off this amp gets a bad rap for being associated with Behringer, but the fact is that this amp sounds nor looks nothing like the common Behringer product line! Also the price point places this amp with solid state beginner amps, and this also makes people question the integrity of this amp.
If you haven't heard it before let me be the first too tell you, this amp rocks! Its a 2 channel vintage amp with a 12" speaker, FX loop, external speaker outs with variable ohmage seletor. Even includes the footswitch. All in all a superb value at only $349!

As a producer and professional guitarist I am really critical about the sound of my amps, however. Tube amps have never been about "the Perfect Clean" or "Overdrive Channel"but about the character of tubes creating warm sounds and harmonic distortion. Every amp maker has different results based on there designs and this Bugera V22 has a very nice usable character all on its own. It has limitations and I plan to compensate for them. These being the speaker and factory tubes.
The speaker tends to break up before the harmonic distortion starts to break the sound up at high volumes. I dont have the same issue with the master volume below 8. I plan to replace the speaker with a Weber 12A150-B for acurate vintage reproduction. I also plan to replace the tubes with Jan-Philips tubes and rebiasing the amp myself.
Now ofcourse I paid $325 and plan to put another $450 into this amp, but when Im done it will sound like I paid $6000 for it!

Solid build, havent had to deal with them as of yet, but I wouldn't. If something were to go bad like the speaker or a switch or something, I would just take it to a good guitar shop and have them beef it up a little. Again I paid $325 for the amp and it already sounds like it cost $1500 out of the box. Put a little cash and some love into it and you'll have a friend for life!

I would buy another just as a backup! This is the best value out there now period! I would pay $1000 for this amp as is... I cant wait to hear it with the upgrades. I will post another review to let all know of the difference after the new speaker and tubes are in!

Two channel EL-84 valve amp switchable with the supplied footswitch as is the onboard reverb. Three 12AX7 tubes in the front end. 1x12 Bugera speaker. Switchable from pentode to triode modes at the flick of a switch on teh back. Effects loop. External speaker jack. Amp is switchable between 4-8-16 ohms for impedence matching. Bass, midrange, treble, presence controls. Reverb level. Gain, clean channel level, dirty channel level, master volume controls. Normal and bright inputs. They claim to make everything in the amp but the valves themselves. Apparently, Bugera (by Behringer) made a big splash at summer NAMM in 2009. VERY low price...

This ain't no Epi Valve Jr... People were going nuts over those when they came out so (due to the price and my needing something all tube to demo my guitars with) I bought one. NEVER liked it. Thin on cleans and harsh on overdrive. With the Bugera, I took my guitars of 3 distinctly differing characteristics (one very Stratty, one very LP/ES-335ish, one chambered body with Vintage59 'buckers) and my pedals into the store and really put it through its paces. I would have been a fool to not take it home. Truly remarkable regardless of price or which guitar was plugged into it. Sometimes the "for the buck" phrase gives one the wrong impression. This thing holds its own regardless of the price, at least on the clean channel. I can still get some workable tones off of the overdrive by playing with the guitars' volume and tone controls too, although my pedals (especially my custom built tube overdrive pedal) are still superior... I actually like the onboard reverb. It is not overwhelming but does add to the spacial character without shouting, "HEY! I'm a reverb here!" The triode mode will be really nice for lower power applications, too. I actually like the grit I can get on the clean channel when dimed. Very usable tone. Do I wish it were made by a U.S. manufacturer? Sure, but I unfortunately wouldn't be able to afford it then and wouldn't have it in my stable anyway, so America didn't lose a sale to Behringer. It did gain by the fact that I paid tax on it and helped keep US sales people gainfully employed.

Too early to tell. I do understand people's trepidations on Behringer perceived quality though and I also do note the slow decay of the standby which appears to be gain dependent... The higher the gain, the slower the bleed-off. This seems kind of strange.

I've been playing guitars for probably 30 years and also design and build my own instruments. They can be seen at www.rockbeachguitars.com . I needed an amp I could gig with and also would be able to show off my guitars for demos at shows and make them sound not only really good, but it would have to do so at lower volumes and be versatile as all hell do to the variety of instruments I build. Cost was a factor. Weight was a factor as I also have a bad back... I have wanted an all-tube amp that sounded really good that I could afford and there just hasn't been anything until now that filled all of my requirements. This amp is simply an amazing tone machine! It does get remarkably loud, too, if you need.

For features, visit Bugera website or read previous review. All in all, nice combination of features, well thought out in a nice tight combo. I always appreciate the footswitch when included. Two channels was key for me along with Master. Triode/Diode is handy too!

I play mostly tele, les paul and gretsch so pretty different combination of guitar sounds. I play mostly rock. I plugged in a les paul at guitar center and was pretty impressed. Could deliver anything from a nice clean albeit not a Fender sparkly clean but still pretty good to blues all the way to some great sounding tube overdrive. Not for metal players of course but if you wanted Alice n Chains, this would work. I purchased after a quick demo knowing I can return up to 30 days plus I want to play through my effects and play my guitars. The EQ knobs had a noticeable effect unlike some that seem to do nothing on other amps I've tried. Reverb albeit not a tank is solid.

Well, here is where this whole story falls apart. I liked the amp but when I got it home and spent 30 minutes with it after pulling it out of the box (previously unopened), I was getting some nice tone much like I heard in the store. It was getting late so I hit the standby switch before turning off and the amp stayed on. Tried it again, and again...standby not functional. I went to the manual and noticed the Behringer name on it and started to put the peices together. Looks are indeed deceiving...killer looking amp, nice features, pretty good specs but the flippin standby doesn't work out of the box???? Was the quality control guy off or asleep when this amp came down the line??? So, the combination of the "out of the box" quality issue and the knowledge this is Behringer led me to pack it up. I could never rely on this for gigging and for $349, I sure don't want an amp that will have to be repaired or replaced in two year (if it makes it that long). So, I ordered a Blackstar HT5 which is on the way.

This is a new model from Bugera with very straight forward and user friendly settings. Tube amp with 2 el84 and 2 12ax7. 22 watts a/b class amp , 2 channel with footswitch included. Reverb is digital on this model but more than adequate. This amp can run in triode and pentode operation. It features effect loop and 2 speaker out with adjustable Ohm settings. 12 inch speaker at 70 watts. EQ is on clean side volume, overdrive channel with drive , volume and down the chain is a master volume for both. Basic bass, mid and treble. Also there is a presence knob that shapes well. Nice cabinet with vintage styling (sort of matchless, bogner, bad cat amp look) very cool.

I use a Squire 50's vibe strat with Lace Sensor Red Silver Blue pickups. I play classic rock, blues, jazz, and funk. It is a very quiet amp with very suprising headroom and bass response. The 2nd overdrive channel sounds very marshall plexi and with the boost on you get a Vox kinda Brian May tone. Fender clean on the 1 channel(not an exageration) The overdrive breaks up early but if you bring it back to about 2 you get great natrual sounding break up. I can get rocky mountain way to communication breakdown on this amp. BB King to Jazzy clean headroom. I am so impressed with this amp. I have not tried humbuckers on this amp. But the crunch and great and with single coils i get a Clapton Derek and the Dominoes sound. For 350.oo retail you cant go wrong. Oh and by the way this amp is loud enough to gig small clubs no problem.

I have only owned the amp for a week but have driven it moderately to hard and have no issues. Some mild cabinet vibration due to the big lows the amp gets. (real bassy in the best way). But a quick once over to the existing screws to tighten up a bit and no prob. Behringer owns Bugera and the customer service is very easy to contact.

I have a 30 day warrant with the store i purchased the amp through and 1 year warranty with Behringer. I have not had any issues but the customer service advised me to hold on to my original receipt as proof of warranty as they do not register products on line any more.

I have played for over 25 years and am a recording musician. I have been looking for a portable amp with a wide range of tones. I have found it in the V22 or Vintage 22. I cannot believe this amp is chinese made. But so is my 50's vibe strat and I love it. I am so happy with this amp. Time will tell on its reliability but there is no amp in its price range that can touch its tube tone even tone snobs cant pass up.

This amp has a bright and regular input ( bright adds like 5 db to the treble), a clean volume, distortion gain and volume, a shared three band eq, presence, master volume, and finally reverb. For the back panel: you have an effects loop and a footswitch Jack for the included channel selector, and finally a triode simulation switch. Instanatly you notice the amp is very trebly, well with the turn of the eq knobs you can dial in a sweet tone, but the triode sim is probably the coolest feature: it's basically a power soak that decreses the output power by 40% allowing a really smooth and not too ear piercing "pushed" tone. I give an eight be cause the shared eq and non footswitchable fx loop.

Ok, so I generally play strats so I plugged in with a highway one first and set the treble and mids to 12 o'clock and the bass at 3 o'clock and instanly got these insane rythm tones, reminisant of tweed fenders. So I switched the channel and set the gain to 1/3 and this little guy gave me some of the coolest twin at ten sounds ever, and at a calm volume. So after an hour of strat time I got a prs mccarty and turned the gain all the way up, it was AMAZING! truly heavy, great for metal and any great lead sounds. So curious, I got the strat again and plugged in at the high gain setting... Let me tell you, I have never, NEVER heard such sensitivity and response to playing as in this amp, it blew my mind! HOWEVER there is a significantly noticable tube buzz, however this doesn't come out of the speaker, so turn her up or get a new cab :)

Hmm.. I've owned a 333xl since they first came out, in the first 3 months my output transformer crapped out (it actually was bad from the start but didn't hear the buzzing until 8 listened back on some recordings), so without a hassle I got a replacement for free, well three months later that one went down, so I talked to Bugera and Behringer and they had me take it to a guy that used to work for Marshall( worked on Van Halens amp and stuff) and he rehulled it, he said basically it was a great amp inside, but some of there solder was poor quality, so he resoldered and rebaised and the thing has bee reliable for a while now. The newer Bugeras do NOT have the soldering issues and I feel are done better. But I have to give what I gave because only time can really tell.

Amazing, everything really goes through behringer for warranty stuff, but the folks at Bugera are very nice and very responsive. They were quick to I form and help me out, I give a ten because they really stand behind their products. Actually better than Marshall and nicer than some of the folks at Mesa, go figure.
