This was made sometime in the late 1970s. Very versatile 2 channel amp but no channel switching (which would be better). Lovely warm reverb sound. Its fitted with Mullard valves that are legendary I am told. The amp sound legendary. Its got 3 gain pots on channeal 2 as well the usual bass/mid/treb/prescence pots. Infinate variations on vintage sounds are there by tweaking the balance of the 3 gains. Everthing that is cool or vintage is here from Beatles & Stones to T Rex and even Killing Joke. The power is easyily enough for small to medium provincial town gigs (like what I play). I run it through a 2x12 HH Cab and it sounds big and shifts the air like a fan.
Theres no gadgets but theres a footswitch for reverb and a line out. The best feature is the gain controls which are unbeleivable.

Sound Quality : 9
I use a Gibson LP Junior with P100s and a Gibson ES135 again with P100s. I play UK style rock'n'roll with a strong urban new wave feel to it. Think early Beatles/Kinks meets early Clash. This amp is it. It would also do heavy blues or retro punk and 70s style rock or indie. Dont think it can do modern metal although a pedal on the input would sort that out. Be sacreligous to do so though. The sounds have to be teaked carfully as the slightest turn can ruin a great sound - its a bit fussy really. So it dosent get 10.

Reliability : 10
Seems dependable. Its about 25 years old. Ive owned it for 10. Valves are ok at the moment but will be relplaced as soon as I can find some more Mullards.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I think the company went bust (like most of the UK)during the Thatcher Fascist era, so I will have to rely on my loval TV repair shop.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 15 years in a few reasonable succesful-ish bands. (its all relative mind)and have borrowed many other amps in live situations that have belonged to headlining acts. None of the Marshalls or Mesas sounded as cool or unique. Lots of people have tried to buy this thing after they hear it. I know one day it will die and ill be left with my 70s HH Tranny Combo (which is very different but also very nice.) When it does die ill get a Fender Bassman (original)or a Vox AC30. I have set up a savings account to acheive this.
