The "Q" is a two tweleve combo, all tube, hand wired, powerhouse guitar amp with an attached and self contained road case. One tone knob controls the equilization, one master volume, and one reverb knob. The face panel is inset to the front panel of the amp, to let the front of the road case lay flat agianst the body of the amp (to see how the case works you'll have to visit burrissengineering.com "picture = thousand words!"). Stained pine body with dovetailed corners and black mesh front. Some cool aditions: LED lit logo, pud/club power limiter switch, and killer reverb unit.

Sound Quality : 10
Right now I'm playing a double humbucker Godin guitar through the amp. The guitar is very versital it'self and the amp does a great job of delivering a wide range of tone, crisp and clear at any volume. I can get a nice meaty jazz sound, and a cutting bridge tone, without any tweaking to the amp settings. The amp sounds best once you get past 2 or 3 on the volume knob, wich is plenty for a small club, wich is why I had a pub/club switch installed to get more tone with less volume for playing small stages. My style of music styles vary greatly within a single gig, and the "Q" can handle anything from funk to rock 'a' billy. It's a very pure amp, with simple controls, and responsive tone that's delivered by the precise and artistic way in wich it was constructed.

Reliability : 10
I have had this amp for almost a year now, and have had no problems, just some routine servicing. We play up to six times a month and I never take a back up amp. The tubes are well mounted and the built -in case helps protect all the components.

I went in the "Tone Shop" and said here's what I want to sound like, and a few months later, I did. I went back a while later and asked if there was any way to limit the volume and keep the tone for small clubs, and a few days later I had a pub/club switch that worked perfectly. Bob Burriss (the builder of the amp) isn't happy until you're happy!

I've played countless apms on stage for some ten years now. Some great, some so so. The quest for tone might be and endless one, but the Burriss "Q" is undoubtably the closest I've come so far. All the subtle qualities that I loved about other guitarists' sound were rolled up in the one amp. I have a wah and a tube screamer in my rig and from that, I can get just about any sound I need. I've had musicians and non-musicians alike, remark on the stage tone I can get under any situation. The only amp that has come close, is an Ampeg Super Jet that I picked up a while back, wich some of the "Q's" electronics is based on, but the "Q" adds so much more color to the sound that you can only get with a custom amp.
