I was looking for a head that would have the sound of a Marshall 50 watt plexi, but more controlable. This amp really fits the bill! The amp is set up like a stock Plexi, but with a master volume. I asked that it be made with only the high gain normal input, and an input that jumps the normal input with a higher gain preamp. This amp has all the guts of the plexi, but it has one of the sweatest clean sounds you could ever want. The amp is 50 watts, but it can hold it's own with any 100 watter (man this thing is loud!!!), and it looks way cool too!

Sound Quality : 10
I wanted this amp to work with my Les Paul, and the custom guitars I build (all buckers, and P-90s). it does that like a dream, but I also got an amp that can S.R.V. Voodoo like no other with my 64 Strat. This amp is all tube, but you don't hear any noise out of it even when turned on it's ear. The amp has a real British tone when dirty, but sounds better than my 65 bassman when clean. The gain of the amp is very vintage (I did not want a modern high gain thing) and Cream like, Pure "woman tone" to the bone!!!

Reliability : 10
Man this thing is made with the best stuff you can get, and built like a tank. Enough said.

Customer Support : 10
Bob has been great to work with, and has really went the extra mile to tweek the RS/50 to my needs.

Overall Rating : 10
have been playing for 22 years, and build custom guitars (www.rsguitarworks.net) for a living. I have several vintage tube amps, and guitars, and would put this amp up against any amp I have (or have owned). If it was stolen I would be at Bob's door first thing. If you want a custom made amp, you really need to look in to a Burriss Engineering (www.burrissengineering.com)amp.
