This amp was born from my desire for a 5E3 Deluxe style amp on steroids for small/medium sized clubs. I had been playing the Burriss 5E3 clone for a while, but I needed just a little "more." Bob Burriss suggested a 5E3 style circuit with a larger (brown era Deluxe-25 watt) transformer set with the option to run 6L6s or 6V6s.

The end result was a 1x15" combo with a tweed Pro sized cabinet with cocoa tolex and wheat grill cloth. With my teles it's the perfect blues/rock combo. It's lightweight, loud, it looks cool as hell, and it's basically the tweed amp the Leo never made. The amp compresses nicely and it's very responsive, tight, focused, has smooth overdrive, and great midrange growl.

No eyelet board like Fenders, this amp is all socket-to-terminal construction (you can hear the difference I swear). Burriss amplifiers come with great warranties.

Bob works with his customers to find the specifics. I can in with an idea and came out with a killer amp that was specific to my tastes.

I'm a weekend warrior gigger in a typical bar band, usually play 5-7 gigs a month. This amp is great for that environment because you can crank it up and get the sweet spot without blowing everyone off the stage and pissing of the sound guy.
