Burriss Engineering Westside Switcher Head

2004, Blues to Thick Overdrive. 2 Channels. 50 Watts of raw power. Almost Hiwatt"ish". All tube 2 EL34 power tubes and 4 preamp tubes. Built tough as a sack of nails.

i use a '91 tele and a '03 les paul standard. naturally the les paul brings out the more crunch but the telecaster brings out an impressive clean from this amp. unusual for head amplifiers. very quiet, no noise. on the clean side there is bass and treble and volume. i set the bass to 4 and the treble to 6. im using a closed back Dr. Z 2x12 cab with a vintage 30 and a G12H. gives a very round and thick bottom end. on the dirty channel, there is a gain, bass, mid, treble, and master controls. gain is on 6.5, bass on 5, mid on 4, and treble on 6 with master at 4. this is incredibly loud just on 4. once again very Hiwatt"ish". the clean channel stays clean up to 5 which is the loudest ive had it. that was all my ears could handle. the dirty channel has a thick but not fuzzy sound. a very distinct and clear overdrive. its incredible.

ive dealt with bob burriss and his boys a few times, and i have never seen pride put into equipment like this before. he gave me the burriss lifetime guarantee. as long as he's alive, its under warranty. you cant beat that. dont go dying on me bob. once again this amp is as tough as a sack of nails.

the tone shop are very friendly, can talk to you like youre not an idiot and will get the job done and taken care of. any problems are taken care of. the burriss lifetime warranty, as long as bobs alive the amp is under warranty.

this amp was made custom for me. i asked for the best of both worlds, the fenderish clean and a killer overdrive. and surprisingly it has been accomplished in my opinion. i never thought you could have one amp do it all, but this one does. im very very pleased. before i was packing an orange ad30tc for overdrive and a fender twin reverb '65 reissue for clean, now im just packing the burriss head and the 2x12 cab. excellent. easier on my back.
