Amp is circa 1973/74; 100W RMS
2 Channels, 1 w/ "Notch Shift" (amp tone changes), "Wave Form" (fuzz-ish effect), spring reverb, and what looks to be an old Maestro, built-in phase-shift effect.
Back in the day, (when disco balls roamed the earth), I used to play my prized Fender Jazz through it; bought this amp head mainly for the built-in effects
After recently excavating it, I'm curious how it would sound with guitar, in a recording studio setting; either with a good 4X10, 2X12 or 4X12 cab, or I'll check to see if I have a line-out or 2nd speaker option to DI the thing.
Plenty-o-power for me and what I do, (jazz, blues, R&B, some rock).
Something that MIGHT be interesting: I'm not positive, but I THINK these amps are Solid State input, but tube OUTput. I'm used to tubes warming things up on the input and having solid state power going out.
In all that I've seen about these amps, I've seen people talk about the tubes, etc.; but I haven't noticed anyone mention this specifically. (?)
(Any user/technical info would be much appreciated on this/these points?)

This amp CAN play quite loud; but I tend NOT to play particularly loud. It's been extremely versatile for the things that I've asked it to do (again, blues, jazz, R&B, and occasional rock). Has a great "clean" channel - sans effects; and has some very unique (in-a-good-way) sound on the "effects" channel. Good spring reverb. "Notch Shift" gives slightly different amp tone, (Fender-ish, Standel-ish, etc.), but the differences tend to be subtle to my ear. Built-in phase shift has 3 "speeds" and came with a loud-clicking footswitch that I lost about a decade ago. With a limited or non-versatile guitar, "Wave Form" by itself seems a bit cheesy to me, but when combined with tasteful splashes and dashes of the other effects you can come up with something interesting.

I've had some trouble in the past, (I believe transformer, but I was between gigs with little time so I was in a hurry and didn't get specifics), but I think it was because of an "uninformed technician".
Because of this, I'm not sure that I'd use it on a gig w/out backup; but I plan on educating myself on the input/output - solid state/tube issues of this amp, and that might improve my sense of the amp's reliability.

I'm giving a 9 because I HAVE dealt with some folks from Gibson fairly recently, (CMI/Norlin/Gibson back in the day), when I was trying to get what must be an archival schematic on the wiring of this beast, and the people I dealt with were great! I actually got a .PDF of the schematic that I can blow up and take with me to a reputable amp-repair shop.
I've had it repaired a couple of times - over the past 3 decades - but the warranty was long-gone; subsequently, I haven't worried about an authorized service center in a long time.
Pretty sure the warranty was 1 year, way back when.

I'm going to rate this as a 10-Fantastic Value mainly because digging out this amp is like bumping into an old, dear friend and picking up where you left off! Sadly, I have been playing for over 30 years now.
If this amp were stolen, I'm not sure I'd be able to find another since they stopped making them. I'd love to buy another working model; but I doubt that I'd find one again.
Love finding an old workhouse of an amp; hate how ungodly heavy the thing is!?! At the time, I was comparing it against Fender's and Marshalls; but couldn't afford them and with the power and built-in effects, I went for the CMI/SG Systems amp (remember, I was a kid)...
