The Marshall 1987x I own is 2 years old. It's a reissue of the famous Marshall Plexi. 1 Channel. So it's on or off! But when it is on it is loud. Too loud. So I had it modified at CWM amps in Holland. Check out www.CMWamps.com. They do all kinds of modifications. Chris Winsemius from CMW apms built a mastervolume in the amp. He replaced the Presence with a mastervolume. The presence was most of the time at 5, so he made a preset of the presence.

Sounds great now after the modification. I can use the full power and distortion at a lower volume. I use it mainly for fullfrontal guitarmusic.

Chris from CMW apms did the job a few weeks ago. And I had some time the use the amp live. So far no problems.

The good thing with this company is that you can make an appointment, they do the job while you waite. Ofcourse it is possible to bring the amp to CMW amps and collect it after a week.
