The '59 Bassman LTD Reissue 410 Combo is not the most versatile amp on the planet. However it does feature two separate channels which enable you to use one as a sort of '59 parallel effects loop which is nice.

The "TexasBluesMod" don't add functionality to the amp only to the sound. It contains the following modifications:

Replacement of the original output transformer by a electro magnetics transformer.
Replacement of the original spool.
Replacement of the Sovtek input tubes by EH 3*12ax7
Some adjustments to the electrical circuit. I'm not into electronics so don't ask me what. For details call Chris.

Sound Quality : 10
Before the modification the sound from the bassman was all right at lower levels but at band practice level it almost ripped my ears off. As if it was throwing ice picks at me. I also couldn?t get a nice crunch or overdriven sound out of it. Maybe it was the guitar/amp combination that didn't work together. (G&L legacy with maple neck and therefore at the bright side of life)
Recommended by a friend I went to CMW Amps who advised me the above mentioned modifications. After he was finished the amp sounded totally different. Before the mod I couldn't believe SRV played on a bassman but after I couldn?t get him out of there. Beautiful round tone with lots of low end and when turned up a warm overdriven sound.

Reliability : 9
I can't give a good opinion because the modification happened only two month's ago. I only can tell that before the mod the fuse and the light on the front panel went dead within a week and after the mod everything functions perfectly. So I give it a 9.

Customer Support : 10
People before me already said it, Chris is a fantastic guy who really listens to what you want. The thing however that really makes him shine is the fact that he has the ability to transform sound wishes into electronics.

Overall Rating : 9
The '59 Bassman LTD Reissue 410 Combo is a great sounding amp and easy to use. Not too heavy. Unfortunately it hasn?t got reverb. Solved the problem by using a micro rack unit by Boss (RRV-10) into the '59 parallel effect loop.
