Late 60's or early 70's valve combo with four inputs. Point to point handwired. Two Celestion Greenbacks. 2 EL34 and 3 ECC83 valves. LOUD! Often conpared to Marshall plexi.
Bought for ??150 in 2005.
Very few features, no reverb, no separate gain. Pedals get it doing all you need it to do.
I've used it in small gigs, and recording and it does just fine. The only problem I have with it is it's colossal weight.
This is just a simple, bullet-proof, everlasting, loud valve amp.

I use with a PRS with humbuckers, playing mostly late 60's early 70's rock and blues and as you might expect it suits perfectly. I've used it with fender tele - still sounds good, but you have to cut the top end to prevent harshness.
It's not noisy so long as you keep the pots clean.
Doesn't really distort, just gets louder and meaner.
Doesn't have a massive range of sounds, but what it does, it does sublimely. It doesn't do sweet and subtle, I don't think Steely Dan would get on with it. Although I have a feeling new speakers might soften it up a bit. But in spite of a limited range, and what some describe as a brutal sound, it sounds wonderful to me.

Hewn from solid granite. Nothing will ever stop this amp. I've gigged many times without backup, the tubes are hundreds of years old, it's had no attention for years, and it's never even considered letting me down.

I now mostly use a Laney LC30 II, simply because my back doesn't like the weight of the Carlsbro. I love everything about it, (except the weight) - feels like Rock History. I don't know if any others still exist so unlikely to find another if this went. It's the epitome of proper old valves and well built kit, and trannys just don't play the same game.
