If your looking up the reviews you should know the spec's so i wont go into detail.
Its a single channel Class A valve amp with gain boost, reverb and a rich true sound. FAT switch to make single coils sound like humbuckers and a mid scoop button to go all nu metal on your ass. Great 12" Celestion vintage 30. Oh and this thing is loud!
I get the impression this amp was designed for players who really like to play (and not sit fiddling knobs) and lets your tone, playing style and technique shine through. If your looking for sugar coated over produced fake sounding guitar noise choose another amp , this is just organic and real 100%
I agree with one of the other reveiwers it'd have been nice to get the reverb and mid scoop buttons to be footswitchable.

Im using this with loads of guitars (i own around 11 at the last count) and its sounds just great with any of them. Clean has a richness and smoothness ive never heard from another amp, personaly i prefere this amps clean sound over fender's any day. When you want to dirty up the sound thatswhen this amp becomes a real joy to play , you have so much gain avaliable but not just gain tone! Really this thing can sound great and vintage one moment or push that scoop switch and you got the sound of focused warm and powerful hard rock Marshall aint got nothing on this amp for rich harmonic distortion . Id not reccomend this amp if you are a true metal head but for someone who occasionaly dabbles into the realm it does just fin for me. THIS AMP LOVES THE BLUES!!!

the cliche time will tell is all i can say, seems well built.
Has a time delay before powering on to check itself which im sure is a good idea just seems to take forever t ocome on when inspiration strikes (but i guess thats what accoustics are for!)

well top marks for customer support! their web site may be the worst website i've ever seen but they sure do make great amps! I got mine at a local music store closing sale for silly money and i needed a footswitch for the gain boost (marshalls wont work!). Most guitar shops said they could order me one but it would be around #60!due to the fact it's a "special" kind. I phoned Carlsbro they sent me one for #18!!!!! plus a copy of the manual within days hows that for customer service!

I really love this amp and im gonna keep it!
For 30 watts it sure is loud, my drummer is a hard hitter and this thing drowned him out no problems. Just wish the scoop and reverb buttons were footswitchable then it'd be perfect.

Great range of features and controls. The only snag is the channel switching - not really someting you can just cut in for a boost - more of a different channel due to the imbalance in volvumes between when the gain boost is on/off.
Never used the mid-cut switch and never will.
May use the fat switch soon.

Play a Std LP, MIM Strat and MIM Tele and playing classick blues and rock - so this thing is right up my street.
Grat range of tones and can go way beyond my gain requirements.
Love the tone when driving the gain with the power valves just beginning to really kick in - lovely.
Just using a Mk1 Marshall Guvnor to push it over the edge for a lead tone - ala Gary Moore and his JTM45 combo!

For such a good amp, the Website is NAFF even if it has been recently revamped.
A forum group for Fatboy users would be great - maybe I should start one.

#350 brand new - BARGAIN!!!
Stolen - would be replaced
Miles better tone than my previous Fender Blues Junior, Line 6 Flextone 2 and Marshall AVT20 - It has got the tone I was looking for all along.
Lovely valve tone and I actually quite like the colour!

Played with a Jackson JS30. Sounds awesome from the minute you plug it in, just the HOLY GRAIL! You have got to hear this....
It produces a harmonic richness which i cannot believe! Mostly play Bon Jovi, VAI, Bryan Adams type soft rock. Plays any amount of distortion up to thrash, but with knobs on. Achieves the rock sounds easily. On the clean side, it is easy to dial in a clean glassy sound you usually find only in the Fender camps.

Try and get this amp off me, no way. I love it. Other than cheapo swithes and indifferent styling, it is the best amp i have ever played, including Mesa Nomads, Rivera, Marshall and Laney. Carrlsbro have nailed the class A scene with this one.

Bought new in June 2002. My local dealer gave me a bit of discount. Dust cover is #24 from Carlsbro.
Only 9 here because I'd like the Scoop and Fat controls to be footswitchable, but then I'm a footswitch junkie. I'd like footswitchable reverb too, but see below.
No 'stand-by' - you switch it on, and a time-delay circuit powers it up when the valves are sufficiently warm. This can be a shortcoming during maintenance.
Footswitchable gain boost. With an effects unit in front of it, the footswitch actually reduces the volume, and increases the reverb. I guess it's an impedance thing.
I play second guitar in a pub band. The other guitarist has a Marshall 100 SLX. This is rarely a problem.

Several people have commented favourably. Quite simply, it can sound like an AC30, but it's much more versatile. Incredibly loud for a 30W amp, particularly class A, and an amazing tone. As with all new valve amps, you must ensure (even if your dealer doesn't) that the valves are fully burned-in. You can't get a proper idea of the tone if they're still 'green'. It came fitted with Sovteks all round, and my dealer had been running it for about a week. I replaced the output valves with NOS Mullards, and the tone got even better. I tried NOS military-spec Mullards in the pre-amp, but they were too high-gain and the amp became unstable, so I reverted to the Sovteks. Toroidal transformers help keep the hum down - it's virtually noiseless when idle.
I use it with a variety of HB- and SC-equipped guitars - Vox Standard 24, Epiphone SG, Casio MG-510, and others - (playing mainly classic rock) and, with or without my Digitech RP-7, it never fails to deliver. The tone is round and full without being muddy, but plenty of sharpness is available. With the gain set to about 7, digging in adds a typical British crunch. It can almost sound like Pete Townshend. With the gain down, it gets loud whilst staying clean. I've not detected speaker overload, but then I've never had the amp at full volume.
I often use the Scoop and Fat controls when playing a piezo-equipped acoustic (Tanglewood Odyssey) to get more of the Ovation-type sound.

Too soon to know, but it's been gigged virtually every week for five months without any problems. It's reassuringly heavy and the build quality is superb, so I'm not expecting any traumas. At a big gig, I would use it as a backup for my 100W rig; I'm currently happy to use just the Carlsbro.

It loses a point because it's actually quite an ugly little brute! Mid-blue vinyl cabinet and a bright yellow face? With chicken-head knobs? Awful logo.
I almost bought a used Vox AC 30, but the dealer showed me this at the same price. Buying new means you get a warranty, and you could probably buy two of these and still get change from the stupid prices people charge for new AC 30s. (They're good, but come on!)
I particularly wanted a British amp, mainly because of the 'British sound', partly for patriotic reasons and partly for practical ones (easier to get parts, should the need arise).
It's a lot easier to haul around than my 100W Laney Klipp head and 4 X 12. I've had the Laney 30 years; the Carlsbro is the only other amp I've needed.

This amp is new it was just made a few weeks ago in England, there is a no frill feel to this amp which is for me a turn on, so many of my amps have a lot more than I need this seems to at least cover all of my needs for performing.A Scoop switch for mid range,Fat switch for a humbucker sound and a gain switch also built in reverb which I always use a little reverb not much. This amp has a celestion vintage 30 speaker 3 ecc83 preamp tubes and 4 el84 power amp tubes. It's a class A Amp which the only thing I can tell you is that at a 30 watt rating this is one of the loudest amps I have ever played thru whether that is good or bad I guess depends on what your needs are. I noticed this amp truely sings at 2 1/2 up on the volume scale.

I am presently playing a late model USA made Strat and a Earnie Ball axe and my favorite Guitar ZION Primera.I play in a small trio we do Gary Moore type blues and old Jimi Hendrix stuff and yes we play loud. I play in small venues and this amp seems to hold it's own with the best of them.I must say the amp is a no frills not alot of extras kinda like the Honda of the amp world. The clean channel is very warm almost Twin like the bass response and mid range adds alot I usually run these wide open and the treble about half way I really get a lot of bottom end. This a closet back cabinet which helps with the bottom. The destortion can be very bluesy to down right nasty I usuely run it around half way on gain.If your a heavey metal guy this might be the amp for you not sure every thing I have ever owned was bought totally on sound quality.

I have been playing for 37 years I own to much stuff to list
If the fatboy was stollen I would have to have another. What I love the most is the inspiring tone I never use to get up and want to play now I play for a solid hour before I go to work.Haven't found anything I hate about it to be honest but I would like to do a review after I have used it awhile on stage.I have compared this product to every production product and even botigue amp out there that I could find this was a user friendly players amp that sounded unreal.
