Made around mid 80's I guess?? ( Carlsbro Marlin 3000) We use it purely for vox, but it handles guitars and bass equaly well!! It has 6 low and high gain inputs 3 main outputs 4-8 ohms plus 2 auxillaries (for monitors or slaves) It has one effects loop input/output and a spring reverb (which still works ok) It also has a DIN input for a tape player (could be moded to take CD. It puts out around 150 Watts x 2 channels (4 ohms) at full tilt, clear as a bell with minimal mains hiss. Its the dogs bollox considering its age and what I paid for it....

I have over 10 guitars with most pick up types and have tried them all through it with no problem at all (but like I said we use it for all vocal work in the band) Its clean and clear as a bell and You wont use it at full tilt unless your doing a fairly big gig (400+ people). As with all amps it depends on how you set it up and what cabs your using as to how it sounds. We have a set of Yahmaha 400 watt bass/tweeters that it powers with out problem. Have also had it through a set of Kustom 100's for vox and it sounds great!

Warranty long long dead, but most dealers will srvice it or repaire as required, no fancy components to fuck up so easy to keep sweet. Maybe the spring reverb will get tired at some point (mine is still fine) but just use a solid state effect through the effects loop instead, problem sorted!

As a band we have been playing together for 5 years and have had a lot of different PA set ups, this amp is the best PA amp I've used so far. I even prefer it to our Kustom PA which is only 12 months old!!!!! Do they still make this amp? I'd buy another if one came up for sale..........Rock solid and reliable. I got ours second hand for #50-00 with a pair of custom built 200 watt speakers.........ultimate bargin..........If you find one, buy it!

im using a westfield guitar, and a hondu les paul through it. Its ok for practasing with the volume at just under the 1 mark, but after 3 the room and various objects vibrate in hormany with that paticular fq. 5-7 you stomach begins to feel queezy and if your wearing hair gel, it starts to vibrate. 8-9 and doors swing to and through roof tiles come loose, pets and small children are advised to be kept in a sound proof room 3 miles away. ive never trned it up to ten as i know that the sound will iradiate my balls and i wont be able to have children.

I think it's about 20 year sold, has 4 channels and seems to be too god to be true... until it blows your cab... Has an auxiliary loop, but it recently blew- after the volume began to drop it finally gave in. Treble, bass, volume dials, aux, reverb switches on each channel-
master reverb tone & volume, amp volume & presence- surprisingly versatile for how few controls it has per channel. I use all the features on the channels I use (3- mic (i installed an XLR input), guitar, bass) Uses everywhere- powerful enough with all levels balanced to project across a club- ideal practice amp- good for slappy funky bass, distorted guitar and general good old fashioned alt rock shit kicking.

I use it with a shure SM58, my soapbar loaded jaguar and a chinese P-bass (sorry). I don't ask it much and it gives me what I ask it- it's loud enough above 7 to cause speaker distortion- PROPER overdrive...

besides the aux dying, which pissed me off, it seems to like being used for whatever...

if you find one buy it- you'll be pleasantly surprised how much you can get from it compared to all this valvestate/reissue/overpriced shite that's about today...
Stolen or lost? unlikely as no-one would look twice at it- i bought ity initially out of desperation and was pleasantly surprised.
