while reading the other review I found the same problem with my amp. the thing with the "suzz". Now I only get the right volume in the cleanchanel, when I turn off the "Suzz". it's not very bad for me, 'cause now I use a distortionpedal and it works.
the amp is about 30 years old, older then me and so it's ok. 7 points

This beast was made in the late 70's, its been a great amp for blues bands, cutting through the mix with rich tone when played with Strats and Teles.
It has two channels, one with 'Suzz' a kind of sustaining fuzz. And reberb I can still hear 48 hours after turning it off.
It also has a nice tremelo effect.
Its solid state and mono.

The clean channel isnt up to much at high volumes but I've recorded with it at lower volumes and its rich and woody.
When the Suzz is activated with the gain at between 1 and 2 it gives an excellent valvelike distortion, and as such its been my main amp for recording since I retired it from live work 5 years ago.
Peter Green like tones are easily accesable, reliant on the guitars volume control and the players touch to crunch up the tone, quite beautifully actually. The reverb comes into its own when used in this kind of blues style. Dont use it on 10 though, its like groundhog day and Nigel Tuffnell rolled into one "..you'll still be hearing that one!"
I've used it in full PA and Backline and Vocal PA gigs, and its great in both, it maintains its tone a higher volumes. And really cuts though in the mix.

I had to retire it from live work as it seems to have a problem that I cant rectify myself. The volume suddenly (and without warning) drops out and you have to turn the Suzz off and crank it up to get it to jolt back to the correct volume! Not great for gigs!
If anyone has any answers I'd love to know, I thought about taking it for repair but I was concerned that what ever it is that is causing this might be the thing that makes it sound so good. So I record with it and it works great.
So embarrasing on stage though!

Its so old that I wouldnt expect much support, but credit where credit is due Carlsbro (based in Coventry, England) sent me schematics when I was trying to sort the volume drop problem out. They havent made this amp for over 20 years now!!

Its amazing what you can find that enables you to play with a great tone for relatively few dollar. Yes its had some problems but if I'd never been able to play this guitar live (and I have for many years with the volume problem affecting only about 2% of gigs) it would still be a great amp to have in the corner of a guitar studio for extra tone.
I had big problems trying to find an amp to replace this live, I dont think I'll ever get rid of it.
