this is a head from 1974! 4 KT88s. i bought it for bass and it makes my two 4x12" cabinets go "HUMP". unfortunately, it sounds marvelous with guitar! i had to get me a power reduction, because THESE 200watts are unhealthy. two channels, a bit more dark for "bass" [bass, treble& volume controls]and a second brighter one [bass, treble, resonance aka some midrange sweep & volume]. it has some 'limiter' to slow down the volume without much compression audible. slave amp output on the front, FOUR speaker outputs on the back. switchable 3,75/7,5/15 ohms/100v lineout. gigantic trafos, most probably parttridges. no highend amp, but a hell of a rock&roll amp.
weights a ton, but sounds the same.

i bought this to get fired from the top40 bands i play bass with- distortions starts with the volume(s) at 9 o'clock. i will never need a plexi. i use it with an attenuator at home. clean sounds? not really. this is beyond anything i know.

i mailed the carlsbro's and they not only replied very kindly, but also send me copies of the 1974 catalogue, a review and a SCHEMATIC of the amp! this is marvelous. they seem to know their heritage. great folks.

i am playing about 25years now, doing many bass jobs in the last years. i will use the 200watts for bass and i will play it with reduced power with my guitars. this gives me the thick, deep midrange i hear on many vintage records. the sonic pressure is unbelieveable.
