The GX412T Cabinet is Carvin's new 4X12 top cabinet to match their 2008 reissue X-100B Amp Head and the 1980's X-100B Amps. My cabinet was made in 2008, has (4) Celestion 50 watt speakers, and is 8 ohms mono or 4 ohms stereo. I play Classic Rock and 80's Hard Rock and this cabinet does everything I expected it to do. This is pretty much a Hard Rock'n Roll, crunch monster, cabinet. I noticed it came with the stereo jack hole plugged and no jack installed. Because of this and the fact it is primarily a Rock cabinet, I gave it an 8 for versatility.

With this Carvin GX412T cabinet I use a 1986 X-100B Head and a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom with early 80's hot Duncan pickups. I always use either an Analog.Man 808 modded TS-9 overdrive or a Visual Sound V2 Route 808 overdrive w/bass boost and moderate gain. At 200 watts this cabinet can handle every amp I own. For Classic Rock crunch and 80's Hard Rock this guitar cabinet is perfect. If you play Jazz and want extreme clarity, I would get a cabinet with different speakers. The Celestion 50 watts are like Greenbacks on steroids and provide a nice smooth, warm overdrive with very good tone and breakup. The bottom end is very good, not as good as Celestion G12T-75's but good enough for Hard Rock. Is this the very best cabinet tone wise? No. Is this a very good cabinet, tone wise? Yes, for Classic Rock and Hard Rock.

My Carvin GX-412T cabinet is built like a brick ****house. All premium birch plywood, even the back, unlike current Marshall cabinets with partical board backs. It has a very sturdy metal grill, securely attached with screws and dampened by black felt all the way around the edge to prevent any rattle. The black bronco tolex, white trim, and shiny black doped edges of the Celestion speakers looks very professional and powerful. This cabinet will probably outlast me and be handed down to my heirs. No need for a backup with this cabinet guaranteed.

Carvin customer support is always helpful, courteous, and has promptly answered every question I have ever asked, either over the telephone or by e-mail. I deal with Michael, he is a really nice guy, uses the same Carvin equipment, and plays the same type of music I play.

I have been playing guitar for 38 years. I own a Gibson Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty" 1979, a Epiphone Sheraton II, a Carvin CS6, Single Cutaway, Crimson Red Flamed Maple, Carvin X-100B 100w amp, Carvin 4X12 cabinet, Marshall 50w amp, Marshall 4X12 cabinet, and a slew of pedals. This Carvin cabinet does everything I need. Carvin equipment is the best kept secret in the US music industry and is making the best quality cabinets for the money. Go find a better brand new cabinet for $400, I can tell you that you will be wasting your time!!! Plus, Carvin cabs are made in the good old USA, not in China like crappy Marshalls or in Mexico like Fenders. The only cabinets that complete with Carvin 4X12 cabs in quality are Mesa Rectifier, Bogner, and ENGL 4X12 cabs and they all cost over twice as much new.
