2x12 extension speaker cabinet, mono, no stereo hook-up. Also, Carvin only sells the 16 ohm vintage 30's which makes the cabinet a 8 ohm, only. Limited in my opinion if your using a head such as a Marshall, which you can drive at 4 ohm (two 8 ohm speakers) but matter of taste. Much better response from the amp driving the speakers. Light poplar plywood used for the cabinet.

Various Fender Stratocasters. Stock pick-ups and Dimarzio single coil humbuckers. The vintage 30's are great sounding for various musical styles, can't go wrong with these speakers. Would go with 8 ohm vintage 30's instead of the 16 ohm which again Carvin only sells. The speakers get a ten but the cabinet gets a two due to basic design and construction and various flaws on two seperate cabinets.

The cabinet is built like a very low end piece of equipment. I ordered one from Carvin and the screws where the bottom piece would attach were completely missing the wood they were supposed to be attached to. Also, the tolex was not tight fitting at all and would last me about three gigs. Carvin sent another cabinet after I told them about this defective one and they sent another. The second one they sent had the same defects only worse. Screws completely missing wood joints and this time the tolex on the front corner was completely off and the bare wood was showing through. Appeared to be a floor/demo unit they sent the second time. Needless to say, I sent this one back and said no thanks to a third they wanted to send me. If they can't get it right by now, forget it.

Customer service at Carvin, well let me say it took well over a month for them to get there cabinets back and still had no credit on my account. Long hold times and short tempered folks for a customer service dept. I expect them to take the lead on the call not the caller. Still waiting for my credit but no worries. Just buy on a credit card and you'll have options.

Paying full retail price for a piece of gear, I expect it to at least meet bare minimums of being good quality. For the price of this cabinet you can find much better well built cabinets out there. Not where I will be putting my money. I have never dealt with Carvin before and had high hopes for this Legacy cabinet but no thanks after dealing with them.
