Takes your tone and just makes it sound... better. It's got nice low end, smooth midrange and the high ends just shimmer. Really nice. It makes your distortion/fuzz/whatever sound like the manufacturers intended

If your head isn't overloading the cab in wattage or ohms, it should last you a long long time. I would have no fear gigging with it [and my Hiwatt Dr-103 :) ]

Dunno... never tried to contact them because the cab's been working as it should. By the sounds of the website, and their affordable (nearly generous) prices, they seem like the kind of company who would definately help you out.

Beats the hell out of the marshalls, the carvin;s so much cheaper and sound the same. If you can live without the marshall logo on the front of your rig and let your ego down a little, you'll be much happier in the end. and your wallet will be just a little fatter too...

Its a speaker cabinet... Mine was probably made in 2003, 240 watt, 16 ohm 4x12 with Celestion Vintage 30's (the holy grail of all modern guitar speakers). Massive 50 oz. magnets, 60 watt power handling (each) and 100 db sensitivity. Mono input and ext out jacks. Nice and durable 16 gauge metal speaker grill, metal corners, recessed metal handles, and a nice dark red/maroon on black color scheme. Even the dark red/maroon material behind the speaker grille is real leather, which adds a moce touch. I play hard rock, old school metal, melodic metalcore, and virtuoso guitar in the styles of Becker, Yngwie, etc. This cabinet is very versatile.

I use this cabinet with a modified Fender Fat Strat into a Carvin SX-300 head. This cabinet sounds amazing! It has a tight low end, smooth midrange, and glassy highs that the Vintage 30's are known for. This cabinet can handle any type of music. I compared this cabinet to my fellow guitarists Marshall 1960a with Celestion G12T-75's, and there was no comparison! The Marshall was way too muddy, no mids, and barely present high end. It sounded like it was under a blanket. The Legacy's difference is like taking earplugs out of your ears! It sounds better, and seems twice as loud! Cleans sound amazing, with nice high end sparkle, and an almost acoustic quality. Distorions have a massive "chunk" with a nice round low end, full mids, and smooth highs. This cab can take as much low end or volume you can throw at it.

I have not had the chance to gig with this cab yet, but with all the metal hardware (as opposed to the plastic hardware and cloth grill of the Marshall), it should hold up like a tank.

Im 16, and have been playing for about 4 years, but I am a lot smarter than most. If it were stolen, I would save up to buy a new one in a second. Overall, its an amazing cabinet.

Features: see other reviews below, this model has the Celestion Vintage 30's, not the greenbacks (vintage 30's are an upgrade from greenbacks soundwise, in my opinion, plus they cost more).
Note: Vintage 30's are NOT 30 watt speakers folks, they are 60 watts.

Sounds: Excellent, like a 4x12... Go figure... Personally, I like the sound of a 2x12 better, but this cab is just a freakin' steal. The Vintage 30's are my 2nd favorite Celestion speaker, behind the sweet blue alnico speakers, but they cost a fortune (and they only handle 15 watts each, so you'd have to have a 6x12 cab to keep a 100 watt head from smoking them). This cab is such an excellent bargain, it's amazing. Vintage 30's are $175 each retail, street cost is about $110 a piece at most online shops I've checked out, that's $440 for 4 of them alone if you were to buy them yourself. This cab sells for $499. You can almost just buy the cab and throw it away to keep the speakers, my god. I dunno how they do it...

Nothing has fallen off or broken. I haven't opened the cab yet to see that they've reinforced the caster wheel mount points, but for the price, I honestly don't care...

You couldn't build one yourself for less money than this, even using garbage wood. This is the best buy out there as far as speaker cabs go. Look at it this way, you are getting $440 worth of speakers, and an assembled, wired, nice looking cab for an extra $59. Wow... What else needs to be said here?

This is a 2002 Legacy 4x12 cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. It's 16 ohms and capable of handling 300 watts. There really aren't a ton of "features" in any cabinet enclosure.

This cab is built like a tank. It has front loaded speakers behind a metal grill, with metal corners and metal side handles. I expect this to last me for a long time to come.

Even if you don't go with the Legacy head, you cannot go wrong with this cab. The Vintage 30s are great sounding speakers, and it's a nice looking box to boot. Plus, the cost is MUCH less than buying a Marshall or other expensive cab. You can't lose with this purchase.

I used a Peavey Detonator AX with Duncans for pickups. I could not believe how good this thing sounded...yeah yeah I know its only a cabinet, but a well built one with a very imoptant factor Celestion 30 watt speakers. They break up just right and project excellent. Clean this cab sound really good also.

I would purchase this cabinet if I was looking for a good 4x12 top cab. Sound great...looks just as good. One thing I must make note of is how careless UPS is in handling your goods. Make sure you open the box or container while the UPS guy (or chick) is standing there. Looks may be decieving. The container from which I pulled out my cabinet appeared to be o.k. but when I pulled the thing out I noticed that someone got midevil on the defensless box. My metal grill was "bent" in and there is a dent in the back edge or corner tword the middle of the amp. This is because there is flagerant disregard for your packages and there content. I cant say as I would order any other cabinet without a metal grill because of this issue. So, open you box while the ups guy is there...refuse to take it if you must!

What more could you ask for in a cab? The original Legacy cab uses Celestion Greenbacks(this is the one I own) the newer cabs are using Vintage 30's(probably a cost cutting measure). The cab operates at 16ohms and handles a max. load of 100watts. The only thing it lacks is the ability to run the cab in stereo(essentially two 2X12 stacks). This, however, isn't an issue, as running a 4X12 cab in stereo doesn't really have a lot of stereo seperation, and doesn't really improve its sound(if you want lush stereo tones, buy two cabs). As for the look of the cab -- gorgeous. Cool looking tolex, metal corners, and an open metal grille wrap up this cab. My only beef is that the handles are plastic. It should be noted, however, that the handles seem very sturdy, and have behaved impecably. The cabinst is also made of poplar(an expensive wood used in guitar manufacturing)instead of using particle board(the industry standard).

I use an ibanez S-guitar and a Line 6 podpro, coupled to a Carvin poweramp to drive the Legacy cab. I'm a session guitarist, so my rig must be able to handle a wide range of tones. The Legacy is unique among 4X12 cabs in the openess and depth of the tones. Most 4X12 cabs are only good at reproducing slabby, tubby tones, but the Legacy handles clean and full on distortion tones with equal grace. Using the PodPro, I run both high gain, Satriani style Soldano amp sounds, and Hendrix style Fender sounds. The Legacy has the remarkable ability to reproduce the openness of the fender models, and the thickness of the Soldano. It's almost as if the cabinet has a resonant pocket behind the speakers to add depth to its voice. The Celestion Greenbacks in this cab simply refuse to become harsh, brittle, or overly distorted. It's not the loudest cab in the world, but it is the best sounding that I have heard. I recommend this cabinet as a companion for any head, or poweramp. Just be mindfull of the fact that any amp pushing more than 100 watts will murder these vintage speakers.

I've carted this cab around repeatedly from gig to gig, and it works fine. Just be carefull that you don't bang it into anything, because the soft tone woods that the cabinet is made of dent easily.

The warranty is a year long, and I haven't had any complaints. I have had to deal with carvin before on other issues concerning gear repairs, and I've always been able to get someone on the phone with out too much trouble.

When I was looking to buy the cab to end all cabs, I knew first that I wanted a cab with Greenback speakers. My choices were down to a Marshall and the Legacy. Considering that both had the same speakers, I found that the Marshall would cost $800. After comparing them, the Carvin looked cooler, was just as rugged and durable, sounded more open and organic, and most importantly was $300 less than the competition. Great Job Carvin!

This is undoubtedly one of the best sounding cabs I have ever heard...it beats out Mesa, Marshall, Ampeg, Crate (well...that ain't really much competition...) or almost anyone else that makes a 4x12...tons of bottom end...a nice fat midrange and smooth high end that does not get brittle or harsh at high volume...this is the best cab I have had the pleasure of putting under my vintage Fender Tremolux...

The cab is built like a tank...typical Carvin craftsmanship...the back is completely sealed, as is the baffle board, so those cannot rattle loose; nice touch. When I got it...it had 2 good sized dents in the cab, one on the side and one in the back...since they did not tear the tolex, though, I wasn't too upset...I didn't have to pay shipping on it!
It seems awfully roadworthy though, and I would hate to carry around a spare for this thing as it is huge in comparison with my other stuff!

this is the steve vai signature series 4x12 speaker cab. it has 25 watt celestian green backs, black tolex, casters, brown piping, steel mesh grill, speaker input and ext speaker out, 16ohm mono, about 90 pounds, speakers are front loaded (no removable rear panel), the inside of the cabnet is "common boxed" that is, it's just a big ol open space with no divider however, there is a wood brace in the center from front to back

this cabinet replaced an ampeg 4x12 with 100w ampeg speakers. the legacy cab with the green backs sound so much better....like day and night. much more responsive with a nice warm tone that breaks up perfectly. the ampeg had more chunk to it with more bass, but it sounded harsh on the top end. the legacy cabinet is well suited for early van halen, classic rock, hendrix, vai, over the top shredder type of tone, not for korn or metallica type stuff. on clean settings, the speakers sound so much better than the jcm900 1960a cab and the ampeg cab. the midrange brings out the tubey qualities of my marshall very well

this cab is built very well, i dont ever think it will fall apart or anything, steel corners and steel grill give you piece of mind when you are moving it around from gig to gig, but i wish they would have put steel handles on it rather than the plastic ones. also, i wish they would have made the steel mesh grill with less openness like the regular cavin cab

i bought this cab direct from the outlet store in santa ana. the guys that worked there were very helpful. they set up different speaker cabs side by side to the same amp and phyically switched the speaker connections while i was playing so i can hear the difference. they wanted to make sure that i got what i actually wanted

i would recommend this cab for anyone who is looking for a cab loaded with 25 watt celestian greenbacks. trust me, these are the same green backs that are in the 1000.00 dollar marshall 1960ax cab, but the legacy will help you save some of your "green backs" for greenbacks. this is an awesome deal that i couldn't overlook. if it were stolen, i would replace it and not feel broke.
