Ten inch speaker, very lightweight with a tiny magnet, rated at 25 watts. The other review says just about all you need to know, I would agree with what the reviewer says, though will add that it is still loud at 96dB, maybe not as loud as other Celestions but still belts it out. A good enclosure helps.
I came by this in a ProAmp Demon combo practice amp picked-up at a market. Didn't get a chance to try it, but it was real cheap at a tenner. Got it home and found the speaker was bust and the amp only worked on "rythmn" setting. Still, I like to fiddle with broken amps that I find cheap. What amazed me was I managed to fix the speaker, cos normally as we all know, a broken speaker is dead for good, unless you wanna pay over the knuckle for a re-cone.

Lightweight and clean, doesn't seem to break-up much. I wouldn't want to push the thing too close to its maximum rating, it doesn't look cut-out for too much punishment. Its pretty loud, as you would expect from Celestion, probably gets to the point where others start to break-up, but then doesn't go any further. Its OK.

It was in a real bad way when I got it. The glue on the rim of the spider had failed, so instead of fixing the edge of the skirt to the frame the thing was flapping around and causing a buzzing noise. It was only held on by a dot. I took the speaker out of the cab and put it face-up on the table and found I could hold the spider down with my fingers and it stopped buzzing. So what I did was cut away the bad glue up to the rim of the skirt, then smothered the top of the rim and the metal frame in fast setting epoxy resin, and held it down with light pressure until the glue started to set. I did this right the way around in about five stages, so as to retain the original placement of the cone. What do you know... the speaker worked after this.
I'm tempted to say this speaker may be one of the first that Celestion had made over in China. It has the cheap compressed paper gasket that you find on every single cheapo China speaker, and the frame looks cheap and nasty. It doesn't have the turned-over edge on the steel frame of all other Celestions. This is stamped-out quick and flat. A forewarning of things to come? The only speakers Celestion make in the UK now are their alnico ones. This one dates from 1984.

Very good customer support. You can email the company and "ask Dr Decibel" a question about your speaker and the reply is quick and very knowledgable. I've used the service three or four times in the past. Recone kits are available for most of their past products but the company doesn't do a recone service itself, try Wembley Speakers in the UK.

Its OK, no complaints when I brought it back from the dead. According to an old printout I have of an ebay listing, Celestion have been making G10D speakers since the 1950s. They were originally 10 watts and meant for the hifi market. Says just about all you need to know.

It is a low budget 10" speaker with 96db sensitivity. It has the same features as any other speaker.

I bought this to go in a Roland Cube30 to replace the Vintage 10 I had put in. I am in love with Vintage 30 12" and the Vintage 10 (same thing in a 10") and needed the V10 out of the Roland to go in a 3x10 replacement Cab for my Vibroverb. Compared to the original speaker the G10D is an improvement. It is a bit bright but has a nice warm yet controlled bass and even midrange. There is no cone breakup at full volume of a 30watt solid state amp (I am sure a good tube amp would kick it a bit too much), overall it sounds very similar to a Jensen C10. Where it shows its weakness is in its sensitivity. The amp is more less than 1/2 as loud as it used to be with the V10 but that is why the V10 is so damn expensive. This speaker is a good deal at the $19.95 Dave Avatar sells them for but if you are looking for a cheap alternative to the V10 or new 10 vintage that will perform as well, then perhaps you should either drop the cash or look at he Silver Series (much closer).

I bought this from Dave Avatar who is great. As far as I know this is a discontinued speaker and he has all that remain.

It is as good as I expected but not better. It is cheaper than a Jensen C10 an the performance is about the same.
