I bought a pair of these way back when I was doing paper rounds. Cost me ??150 back in 1987!! Sound is really 'scooped' creamy overdrive, and was OK on clean sounds. Lack of bass disappointed me, but they are only 10". 103db IIRC, and the loudest speaker Celestion have ever made, which was part of their advertising slogan at the time. One of them finally died (coil went open circuit) during a gig using a 50W marshall rack amp. These used to kill everyone's ears - they were ear piercing loud, and I have given a large number of Tinnitus cases with these!!

Well rated at 300 watts as a pair you'd have thought they would have laughed at the 50 watt Marshall, but one went RIP. I did play them hard for nigh on 15 years though!! Wish I'd had it re-wound instead of chucking it away. It's partner was sold on EBAY for a tenner.

Celestion have joined the mass corporate 'let's jump on the Chinese production' band wagon, and compromise their customer support. You can't exactly phone them up anymore. You're expected to just buy another, instead of claiming on their warranty.

The loudest little speaker ever made, and I'm gutted that they never made it to the studio, they were like little friends to me. If you put (and could find) 4 of these and put them into say, a Mongotone 4x10 mahogany cab - I guarantee you, that you would have the most punishing guitar cab of all time. 600 watts of 103db pure pain which you could play at Monsters of Rock. Forget your bollocks 'warm, lush alnico holy grail G12' rubbish - these are in a league of their own - pure insane.
