My Favorite tone period. I have gone through, Eminence Govner, Man O War, screamin' eagle, and an american red white and Blues (this one is pretty nice) and Celestion V12-80, Super 65, and Vintage 30 as well as some Jensons.

The V12-60 is perfect for me. Articulate and warm, which is extremely hard to find. If a speaker can sound "glassy" then this is it. I also love that it is so unknown which is why I debated on even rating it.

8 ohm speaker, 60 watt

It has a lower output level than the celestion vintage 30 or the v 12 from eminence.
My amps sounds the best with the v12-60 speakers.
The sub lows that comes out of this speaker are bombastic.
This is the only 12'' guitar speaker i know that produce those sub-lows.
It also sounds good for bassguitar.
The db level from this speaker is rated at 96 db.
The classic speaker are mostly rated at 100 db and have a more direct sound.
The v12-60 is warmer sounding than the louder classics.
I play oldskool swedish deathmetal like dismember.
With rehersal i use 1 mig 100 with a self build 4x12'' cabinet loaded with v12-60's and 1 bassov mig 100 with a self made 4x12'' cabinet also loaded with v12-60's.
The selfmade cabinets are a little bigger than a classic cab.
The v12-60 is a warm sounding speaker that works best for me.
Sweeetttt

12" speaker, vintage-tone-voiced, 60 W, pretty small magnet (25 oz. i guess)
See Celestions site for more specs.

I disagree with the first reviewer. In fact it doesn't sound like a Vintage30 at all. The whole character is more vintage-like. The Vintage30 has more bass, punch, upper mids, attack and highs than the V12-60. In comparison the Vintage30 is a punch in your face compared to the V12-60. The latter is more laid back, in fact it suited the crunch and clean tones of my ENGL Savage 120 head pretty pretty well. Very smooth highs, very charming for bluesy leads. warm and rich bass, but a bit too warm and unprecise when played with HiGain. But for aggressive modern punchy HiGain Distortion, it wasn't the right thing.
Personally I disliked the V12-60, because I searched for a different tone. So as usual: it's a matter of taste, so no rating from me.

It was just the wrong speaker for me. Someone who likes crunch and clean tones most will probably love it.

This is a 12 inch from Celestion's Silver Series - "Vintage tone, modern construction and more affordable price". This speaker is very similar in specs to a Vintage 30, but uses a smaller magnet. It comes in 8 and 16 ohms.

Sound Quality : 10
THis speaker is sort of a cross between a Vintage 30 and a Greenback. The low end body of the Greenback and the basic character of the Vintage 30. It has less high end than the V30 and is a little less punchy, but has a fuller clean sound. It is also 3 db less efficient than the V30. I can get very close to the V30 sound by turning up the presence control on my amp, with a little less volume. I've used this with humbuckers, P90s and single coils and all sound good. This speaker is not scooped but has a more 60s type Marshall vintage quality.

Reliability : 10
I've always had success with Celestions.

Love the web site, really helped make up my mind.

I must admit that I like the sound of Vintage 30s a lot. I had a loud amp and I wanted a speaker that was less loud, so I tried this. It is warmer and has less high end but still has a great tone. I really like the character of this speaker. It is a little more vintage than the V30, but still has much of the same character. Sure I'd get another for the right amp.
