CeriaTone 5f4 super head

Mine was the first tweed 5f4 super head Nik Made available. It was a one off project that turned out so well he now lists them on his amp inventory.It has 1x 12ay7, 2x12ax7, 2x6L6GC, 1x GZ34 tube inventory. 2 mic inputs,2 instrument inputs,[great channel jumping capabilities], mic volume and instrument volume are intractive, presence control.Power,stanby, and ground switches.My 3rd Ceriatone.This is the amp Leo Fender called "my best amp desgn ever" it was never picked up by a "star" and has remained relatevly obscure. It is the consumate "sleeper". at 33 watts it is plenty loud enough for giging or home ,when at home the lower volume doesn`t seem to affect the tone like amps that need to be dialed,very versatile in that sense.Like all tweed amps it has everything you need without neon lights.Simple and you will have your tones down in an hour.Nik has an amazing ability to pick the best TONE amps from all time,and that is the main draw to this amp simply awesome tone!! Look at Ceriatones buid inventory and you will find every major tone machine in the last 50 years.My other Ceriatones are; the 5e3 tweed Blues Delexe.the 18 watt TMB Marshall[actually a 65 Watkins Dominator} and the 5F4 Super head. Made in Malaysia,2006.

This would be on the cleaner side,not a Blues Deluxe. Breakup is smooth and latter than a BD however change the input and you have control over clean or hot. Takes an O.D.pedal very well. The tone is king here .Thick, rich, deep. organic, hit a simple chord and it just rings with harmonics and overtones. a wonderfull circuit!! I play Blues,R+B, Classic rock. Mostly Tele`s 2 G+L`s, a moded Fender and 2 custom Heatleys with Wolfetone P90`s. The amp lets each guitar have it`s unique voice. Another reason why I like this amp,the simple circuit allows each guitar to show it`s qualities. Very good string dynamics,harmonics and TONE.Definateely not a metal amp. Like all Nik`s work the amp is truly amazingly quiet,even with my single coils cranked.

This is so dead simple. Nik built it. Like a tank. It would be easy to spend 3x the money with an American boutique builder and get less quality parts and lesser build quality.This is my third Ceriatone ,never had a problem. An amp teck friend off mine was over to jam and he looked at it and said "If I was buiding an amp for myself,this is how it would look". I put in nos tubes and rebiased to further enrich the sound. Amazingly quiet,indicating good build quality.I don`t know how Nik does it but all his amps are dead quiet.The reliability? never had a problem with any of the 3 Ceriatones I own.Great value. And I always take a backup to a gig,spare fuses and tubes.

As I said this was a custom project,Nik`s first 5f4 head.I contacted several builders American,locall and Ceriatone. Ceriatone had the amp built and delivered before the snooty boutique builders even contacted me. The exception was ED Giller and he is building me an amp at this moment.All emails answered very promtly. Any mods all I heard was " can do", "no problem". Easier to deal with than my locall guitar shop down the street. A+

Been playing about 45 years,had one of everything and sold one of everything.Nik`s amps are all keeper`s.Tele`s,2 G+L`s one Fender and 2 custom Heatley Hollowbodies.They all sound good with this amp. Haven`t found any 5f4`s being built today.If lost or stolen I would definately get another as I have become reliant on it`s sound.I love that Nik had the Faith and knowledge to know if Leo Fender said "My best amp design ever". It had to be good,and worthy of building. Word spread through internet postings started by myself and now it is part of his inventory.If you like tweeds or want to try owning one ,this would be a good one. Oustanding value!! Outstanding quality! I have played this amp every day for the last six months.
