CeriaTone JTM 50

Very Simple.
Dual channel (bright,bass) just like a plexi. As a matter of fact it is almost a plexi/jtm45 crossover. ab switch it or jumper the channels for cool blend tones. The tone controls are very interactive and respond well, they sound like they do exactly as advertised. I am marking this category a 10 simply because I find the amp very versatile for what it is, not a triple channel gain monster, but a well designed version of the classic jtm50.

I use sg's, Tele's and Jazzmasters with it. I find that the guitar is allowed to make a difference in tone which has made my need for more guitars validated lol!! The tele sounds raw and defined, rings when strummed and bites when hit hard. The sg rocks into this amp, could be a bit more riff friendly, but this isnt the amp for that anyways. the jazzmaster is simply glorious on the neck pickup with heavy delay and a bit of herbal motivation ;) once I set the volumes and tone settings I dont have to change them when I change guitars. they all sound good. It is very quiet even with the tele, only light hum when in front of computer monitors.

I built it and it is a very simply machine. built like a tank with top notch components from the tube sockets to the pots. Nik has simply included the best in this kit. I very ignorantly improperly biased it and played it hard in my rock band for 6 months before I rebiased again. It simply got even more amazing!!!!!
I would gig without a backup definitely, I am building a vox plexi clone that nik is designing for me very soon.

Dear God is the support amazing. I asked nik questions via email for months, he never got tired of answering completely and enthusiastically!! I have had some of the worst experiences with other amp manufactures (weber, valvetech etc....) I have ever had in my entire life. Nik responded within minutes, almost supernaturally lol!!!

I ordered the kit without transformers as I had already ordered trannies from Weber a week earlier. I ordered thursday, got the tracking number on monday, called dhl to see when it would be there....they informed me it was already on my doorstep!!!!! weber came through about 4 months later (with the wrong order mind you).

If it where stolen............shooting spree comes to mind.

I have owned boutique orange heads, vintage marshall amps, some mesa gear, boutique valvetech amps, etc....

*** em ALL!!!!! The future for me is my own cutom built amps with support form great people.

This is the 2nd Ceriatone amp I've purchased another is on the way
I decided to build this one it's the jtm 50, The layout was very easy to read& build off of, only a few questions to Nik the owner who is very helpful with every item asked or questioned, this is the standard 2 channel 4 input Marshall clone, no eff loops or master volumes and yes it's wicked loud.. All you need is 1 straight cord from your guitar to the amp by rolling off the volume knob it cleans right on up no need for effects it distorts perfect at (5-7) Yes both channels used at (5-7) I'm running this amp through 4x12 celestion vint 30 watt speakers It does take to pedals very nicely and can be used at any club you really hear what your guitar exactly sounds like lo-hi's all tones are amazing to say the least One of the best amp companies for tone yet NO..B.S I'm almost 50 I've had em all these are it !!
I'm using svetlana el34's and jj's 12ax7 in the pre-amp stage
and I'm running her hott approx 16 watts per tube A/B push pull amp
This amp will do Country to ZZ-TOP wicked smooth

I use this amp for basic rock and blues gigs

from tele's to 335's they all have their own sound and so sweet on the tone the distortion is sweet controlled feedback easy right off the volume knob and that sweet spot on the mid, treble pots
it's likes all pick ups p90's to singlr coil to humbuckers
humbuckers really get you to that contolled feedback area
if not throw a Maxon ts 9 at it -808 my 2 fave guitars for this if I had to choose 2 a 335 and a tele I could do any type of musical business with these 2 guitars

I've had it for 2 mos now no probs at all and very good parts were used in the kitt I don't foresee it breaking down at all I'd bring a back up just in case "Murphy is in town"
just change out the tubes 2x a year no prob re bias too !!

Like everyone says NIK is really on his game he does answer all e-mails and tech qusetions he's very knowledgable
he's right to the point very concise and gets things done
warranty is lifetime from what he builds I'm not sure on DO IT YURSELF items there is a repair facility in the USA here

and have finally found my amps
If they were lost I'd buy 3 more kitt and build another 1..
the rest of my amps are up for sale except my fender bassman 4x10 combo and NO I don't work for Ceriatone there just a great bunch to do business with and have an amp that has the best tone yet
again I can't explain the cleans you get when you roll off the volume pot the tone is so so sweet
