i purchased 2 cabinets from clark some time ago....one was a 5E3 and the other was supposed to be a clone of a specific english amp. fingerjointed pine was used for both the 5E3 and the english cab, even though the english cab was supposed to be birch ply. grill cloth was loose on the english cab and clark built it with the wrong color tolex. the 5E3, imo, was way too orange in color. i am apparently the only guy in the world with a bright orange 5E3.

the cabs sound ok, though i am very disappointed in the english style cab - it should have been made of birch-ply which would have given it a tighter sound.

very reliable, though the 5E3 cab rattles.

this is where i think that the truth need be told. when i contacted clark to raise the issue that the english cab was all wrong (wrong color tolex, wrong wood used, loose grillcloth), they basically BS'd me about these points, in the hope that i would just go away. i tried to make it clear to them that i was not satisfied having paid top dollar for these cabs, and each of them having issues. they basically blew me off, and didn't much care.

i've been playing for decades, and i routinely build my own amp chassis (mainly fender marshall and vox inspired designs). i have usually purchased cabs from other sources, and to date, i have purchased from 7 different suppliers. i can say without a doubt that i was least impressed by clark. there are so many guys building quality cabs these days.....i would recommend that you find someone other than clark for your cab needs.

I'm building a tweed Deluxe clone, and was recommended time and time again to Clark for a repro cabinet. So I took the plunge. Boy, am I glad I did!
EXCELLENT tweed work with grade#1 pine.
Top quality, both in workmanship and value. The baffleboard has already been optimized so you can use speakers ( like the Celest. BulDog )with the bellcap on. Definitely "ups" the cool factor.
This cab is JUST LIKE the one he makes for his amps. NO difference!

Let's face it, we know what a 5E3 is for. This cab fits the bill, period!
Get's that vintage woody tone, only without the vintage wear.
Why the 9? I'm afraid if I post all 10's, they won't post my review!

Since this is brand new, I expect it to outlast me. And the next guy.......

As we all know, Mike and the staff at Clark are known for their great customer support and service. My dealings with them have been just the same.
From the date I paid and ordered, to the date I arrived was just the right amount of time. Packed well.
As they say in Ebay lingo, highly recommended!!!!

I had a 60 5F3 Deluxe a long time ago, and miss it dearly. With these crazy vintage prices the way they are, I thought I wouldn't see this kind of tone again.
But thanks to guys like Mike at Clark, and Bruce at Mission amps, we can now got 95% or more of the same tone at less than 1/2 the price!
If I had to buy ANY tweed repro cab, I'd give Mike the business.
Before, his reputation preceded him. Now that I'm a satisfied customer, I can speak firsthand. Thanks Mike!
I'm telling you guys, these are the kind of people we need to support with our business. Heck, they support us! With great products and great tone!
Oh, did I forget?.........GREAT PRICES!
