This amp is a 2001 recreation of a Top Boost Vox AC15, cosmetics and all(different than the currently offered Brighton). Amp gets a 10 here because its EXACTLY what I wanted.

This amp sounds phenomenal clean and dirty. Hank Marvin clean sounds abound with my '56 reissue strat. Switching to my Nocaster and cranking up the volume gives me the BEST EL84 grind I have ever been in a room with. Achieving absolutely perfect Jam "In The City" tone is a snap(1982 or earlier Rick w/Hi-Gains Required)! Really amazing and 3 dimensional. Of course you get the Vox Vibrato and Tremelo circuit also, an added bonus especially when recording. There alone, what cool sounds. This amp can't be compared with a "compromised" korg ac30 reissue. Sure it's twice the money, but its THE tone. This amp will save me money because it'll be the LAST EL84 amp I ever buy. It is what I always wanted, a brand new(not 40 years old and filled with radio Shack parts) Vox AC made exactly like the old ones. I have had the pleasure to record with a pristine vintage AC30TB and this amp has EVERYTHING the old one had. That feels so good to say, not kinda, not close, not almost, but spot on! I guess I should mention that it is very loud. This is no Pro Jr 15 watts!
Reliability
:
7
This amp will be just as reliable/unreliable as a vintage Vox AC15 except my amp isn't 40 years old! If you've ever paid the repair bills on trying to gig with a vintage Vox, you'll know just what I mean! Brand new everything but (HERE i GO AGAIN) the vintage tone. I'll give this a 7, no fault to Clark, but to MR.DENNY. These amps run hot and eat tubes. Don't take your Fender for granted as far as ease of replacing tubes, here you need a screw driver. The amp has had NO problems however, its getting a 7 based on the way I'll feel when I need to change them!

Waited forever for this amp, had plenty of time to second guess my purchase and wonder if I'd spent too much, would it sound amazing etc. And then the amp arrived and the time spent waiting was WELL worth it. If I could have had this tone at 18(I'm 34) I really could have saved a bundle in searching for tone. Again, you want the best, wait a little and get the best. This is the best IMHO. Gets a 10 because when you do call wondering about your amp, you'll end up speaking to a guy whos actually building your amp not some kid earning extra money for college sitting in front of a computer with prompter questions and prewritten answers!

The last old school tube amp company I'll ever need to deal with. I already have a Tweed on order so I can run the gamut between British and American amp tone. Doesn't that really say it all? I've ordered another Clark!
