This amp does not have many features. It is not supposed to. The most important feature is great tone. My amp has NOS tubes and an Alnico Blue speaker. If you are not familiar with this amp it is basically a champ style power section(with an additional power tube) mated to a deluxe style preamp.

The tone of this amp is very fitting for me and allows me to get stellar blues rock tones along the lines of ZZ Top, Rolling Stones, Zep, Crowes, etc. I normally use either a Les Paul with Seth Lovers or a 52 RI Tele. With these guitars straight into the amp I can achieve buttery smooth cleans to mildly overdriven lead tones without driving the amp too hard. Yes it can get loud! With a Keeley modded Blues Driver I really get an awesome overdriven tone that can still clean up when I roll back on my guitar's volume. The amp is pretty quiet, just don't expect it to be dead quiet, especially at high volume.

I've been playing for about 13 years and have played and owned Boogies, Marshalls, Orange, Drz, and Fenders. I currently own a Carr Rambler, a Victoria Champ, a Marshall JMP, and my Clark. I would recommend this amp to any player who can appreciate simplicity and pure tone in an amp. It's not a cheap amp, but as the old saying goes, you definately get what you pay for. I wanted a low wattage amp with a pure signal path to play at home. I got that in the Lil Bit LTD. I have also used it with great results in jam sessions. What else can I say? Great people to deal with. Great products. Very satisfied customer.

This is not a very feature-packed amp, nor is it meant to be. It does what I wanted it to do - and does it better than any amp I've played. The amp is rated at 4 or 5 watts: perfect for recording or woodshedding at home. You can crank it up for some beautiful power tube overdrive. Yes, it is loud but not earsplitting. With the door to my music room closed, I can play it at half or even full power without bothering the neighbors.

I have a Strat, a Tele, and a Les Paul. To me, the Fenders sound superior through it. I think the p'ups on the LP are a little too hot. I like Keith Richards' tone and my Tele played through this amp is very Stones-ey. The only effect I use is a Tech 21 "Double Drive" overdrive pedal, since it retains the Clark's beautiful tone and is very sensitive (as is the Clark!) to how hard I dig in to the strings. Using touch alone, I can go from clean to crunchy - a sure sign of a good amp.

The way this amp is built (solid pine cab, point-to point wiring) leads me to believe it will last as long as I take care of it. Plus, it has a 10 year, transferrable warranty.

If you want a stright-forward amp that sounds like a vintage fender - but without the old, worn-out tubes, caps, etc...then buy one of these. MC builds them by hand, so you might have to wait for a couple of months, as I did, but it is well worth it. If you need more versatility, buy it anyway and stick a POD in front of it.

Amp was made in Aug. of 2000. I purchased it new. 4 inputs( hi&lo for both normal and bright channels). 2 volume controls(which are interactive) and a single tone control. Hand wired. Covered in a beautiful lacquered tweed. It's basically a 50's tweed deluxe clone
with only one power tube instead of two. Weber P12Q speaker.4 watts of tone heaven.
Pretty versatile amp considering how simple it is. By switching to the different inputs and tweaking both volume and tone controls a wide variety of sounds can be coaxed from this little jewel. A lean, mean blues machine.

I play a Fender American standard Tele with Kinman P/U's, G&L Legacy and S500. All three sound great. I play a little blues, rock, country, jazz. If played within it's limitations it can sound clean or it can bark like a dog. It will flab out if the volume is dimed but if you back off the volume on the guitar it will clean up pretty good.Deceptively loud, this could get you evicted Just a lovely sounding amp if your into the tweed thing.

Bob at the Perfect Note is just a great guy. He's Clark's rep. It's hard to get off the phone with the guy. I could talk gear all day with him. The folks at Clark have always been helpful also. First class all the way

Yes it was expensive. Nice things are.It is what it is.
I would replace it if anything happened to it.
I also own a Clark reverb unit and I just ordered his Gainster pedal.
I will also put in another order for a different Clark amp sometime this year. My tone quest is over. I love his gear.

I believe this amp was made last year sometime. It looks new.
I play mostly blues and classic rock/soul stuff. 2 channels normal and bright. No effects loop. I use this amp at home only. I wanted a Champ clone and this one was up for sale. Plenty of power without irritating the neighbors. I thought it would be cool
to have a champ-like-amp with a little more base response.
Has a tone control too which makes this very versatile for a Champ.
Very attractive dark tweed cabinet. Pretty much the same amp as the previous review, but with a P12Q speaker and no reverb.

I have 2 Telecasters. Mostly I use the 52 Reissue. The guitar suits me just fine for what I want to play and sounds great through this amp.I find it runs rather quiet. Playing with the volume and tone controls enables me to get a wide array of sounds for an amp of this type. I can get a range of dynamic and clear, clean sounds at lower volumes or all the tweed grind of a small Champ at higher volumes, but with better base response due to the P12Q speaker.
Its the first amp I've owned and that I was able to make good use out of the neck Pickup on my Tele. I love the sound of this thing at any volume level.

I've been playing for 20 years or more. Most of that has been acoustic home-playing, so I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to gear. However, I think I got a pretty good deal on this amp and I hope to take good care of it so I won't have to buy another.

This is a unique amp originally from Clark?s line of original heads and combos. It has a two channel pre-amp section??Fender Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Circuit,? but Clark omits one power tube and uses the power amp section of his ?Lil? Bit? amplifier instead, which is the same circuit design as a ?Fender Tweed Champ.? Making the Ltd. model a hybrid low-power amp of exceptional quality.
Don? t get this Ltd. amp confused with Clark?s standard Lil Bit.
Four watt, one twelve combo, with a 6v6 power-tube in single ended pure class ?A? configuration. Normal and bright channels, with a common tone control. Solid first quality pine, finger jointed cabinet, covered in aged golden amber tweed. Custom wound Transformers, paper, foil and oil Capacitors, NOS resistors, NOS tube sockets, cloth wound wire, etc.
This amp was ordered with a Celestion Alnico Blue speaker. The volumes are interactive just like Clark?s ?Beaufort,? which gives an ability to achieve numerous tonal combinations with the tone control. This amp is built to last. It?s ideal for practice and recording, or stage use using the optional lineout or with a microphone in front of the amp?s speaker.
I?m only giving it a 9 here because it doesn?t have a send and return. However, the features it does have are awesome!

I am using a 1977 Gibson R&D Artist retro fitted with TV Jones TV Tron humbucking pickups, which are like Gretch Filtertrons from the 1950s. I am also using an unmodified 2001 Ibanez 120 Art Star.
The amp is a bit noisy at high volume settings.
I have tried many different tubes in this thing. If you want a muddy sound put a Mullard CV 4004 in the pre-amp and put some ECC83s in the reverb circuit.
Clark said I could use a 12AT7, or 5751 which is a high quality lower gain ?12AX7?in the Reverb?s upper position. Only a 12AY7 or 6072, which is a low-noise version of the 12AY7 will work in the first pre-amp gain-stage; any tube with a higher gain will produce uncontrollable?non-musical feedback. One can swap out the 6V6 for a 6L6 and the amp will produce a few more watts.
For a super clean sound put a 12AT7 in the reverb?s upper socket and a 5751 in the lower one?this really lowers the amps gain, because the reverb unit is hooked in a series circuit. Keep both the panel tone knob and the Reverb tone knob way down, and turn the panel volume knob?s channel that?s not in use way up.
Because this amp can take different tube types you can get anything from pure mud to too clean, and all in-between. It can oink like a pig and bark like a dog. I love the sounds that this amp makes.
To me, it sounds the best with the NOS JAN tubes that came with it. How could I have known that Clark set it up with the best tube types in the first place? With this tube setup the distortion is warm, not barky. I don?t use a pedal with it because it has enough distortion on its own.

The second day I had it I put in a high powered Rectifier tube in it along with a 6L6 power tube. Big mistake! This combination blew a reverb tube. Michael Clark told me on the phone the next day that I should only use a 5Y3 rectifier tube with this model. Thank God only a tube blew.
I looked in the back and I noted that it has a fuse in it in case something really goes wrong, like a power tube short. Also there is a panel fuse. The wiring looks top notch.

I have dealt with Bob at the Perfect Note and Michael on several occasions. They?re good people. My only concern was that I was really looking forward to getting the amp. While at first I was told it would take about four months it actually took eight. I must admit though, I told Mike one day to put mine on the back shelf if he had some other order that was more pressing. It was well worth waiting for.
It has a ten-year transferable warranty.

I have been playing the guitar for 20 years. If the amp were stolen I would buy another Clark. The tweed work is the best I have seen. Every aspect of this thing appears to be flawless. I bought this because of reviews of other Clark models. And because I wanted a low power amp for a home practice environment.
